Percy couldn't help the excited smile as he followed Annabeth and Grover to their guild. He hadn't really been planning to join a guild but if everyone in it was like Annabeth how could he turn down the chance to join?
The past few days walking had been interesting, as he had learned more about Annabeth and Grover like the young boy wasn't as young as he looked and the reason he walked with crutches was because he had the legs of a goat (and hadn't that been a shock to learn?), and Annabeth was the same age as him.
Just as they entered the town, however, everything became obscured by fog. Annabeth let out a string of curses. "What's wrong?" Percy asked confused, sure the fog was a little annoying but it wasn't like they couldn't see anything.
"Hazel's practicing with the mist again."
"Okay?" Percy replied, still confused.
"Which means we won't be able to find the guildhall until after it clears up!"
Grover, seeing that Percy still wasn't getting it leaned over and told him, "Hazel has control over magical mist. Anything you see in it you think is real. So we could travel in circles for hours thinking we're going the right way."
Percy nodded, finally understanding why Annabeth was so angry. But magical mist or not, Percy still hated just sitting around and very quickly started wandering off. Luckily, Annabeth and Grover noticed and grabbed hold of him, before he could be swallowed by Hazel's mist. "Don't you know better than to go wandering off in potentially dangerous conditions?!" Annabeth said as she grabbed hold of him.
Percy shrugged, "I mean yeah, but we don't know how long it will take for your friend to finish practicing and I'm curious."
Grover sighed and picked up his crutches so he could walk normally. "Well, as long as we stay together it shouldn't be too bad."
Fortunately for Annabeth's sanity, the mist only lasted for an hour and a half (which was still too long for her liking but she was willing to let it go in favor of a hot meal), and they were able to make it to the guild hall. Finally.
From what Percy could see it was less of a hall and more of a series of buildings that were loosely connected on the opposite edge of town that they'd come in from with one large building acting as the front. When he asked about the other buildings, Annabeth waved her hand dismissively and said, "Optional living space for guild members. You can stay in one of the buildings or find a place in town." Then she opened the doors, smiled, and said, "Welcome to Fairy Tail."
The main building was chaos. People were laughing, fighting, drinking, and pretty much acting like there was a never-ending party going on. Percy already loved it.
While Percy was distracted by the sheer intensity of the guild, Annabeth had managed to start a fight that spread to the rest of the guild in what Percy felt had to be record time (it wasn't for Fairy Tail but Percy would learn that in time).
Percy only really noticed the fight when a chair was thrown and hit him in the head. As he was laying on the floor trying to recover a sweet-looking girl made her way over and helped him up while saying, "First guild fight?"
"Yeah. It's a little... intense."
She smiled, "More than a little I'd think."
Before either could introduce themselves, Percy heard Annabeth over the general sounds of fighting as she shouted, "You wanna try saying that again War Head!"
Another girl shouted back just as angrily, "I'll say it all day Feather Face!" The two were amping each other up and the rest of the fight seemed to be feeding off their energy and growing more and more intense. Soon enough, several people were drawing magic circles and pulling out weapons.
Before anyone could actually take it to the next level, an older man in a wheelchair rolled to the front of the upper balcony and said, "That's enough!" Everyone froze and already started to look a little sheepish.
