Beck: The Bird Scene

The days following his apology Jade still wasn't fully back to her old self and it bothered Beck. The group of friends was spending their lunch break more often than not with Tori now, but Beck tried to keep a little more distance to the new girl, considering how Jade must feel every time she saw her. His girlfriend hardly sat close to him anymore and Beck could only hope that with time they could go back to being the way they had been before his kiss with Tori.

After Tori had failed the bird scene for the first time and they all walked to her locker, Jade pulled him away from the group for a moment.

"Did you change to ballet class too or are we still doing salsa class together?"

Jade's question surprised him a little. Of course he wanted to take that class with her. There was no way he would ditch his girlfriend only to flirt with some girls in ballet class. Maybe her question was the result of his stage kiss with Tori.

"Of course I still want to dance with you, babe." When she seemed content with his answer they went back to the rest of the group.

Later that day they had salsa class for the first time. Thankfully the teacher let them chose their partners for themselves. Starting with a few simple steps Beck quickly realized that Jade didn't let him lead and their teacher noticed as well. When she called them out on it Jade just denied it and rolled her eyes annoyed. The older woman looked defeated at Jade's attitude and moved on to give the other pairs advice. They had danced before on school events and back then his girlfriend had let him lead, so what was the problem now?

When Beck voiced his thoughts he was surprised by Jade's answer.

"Well maybe the difference between then and now is that before I wasn't worried that you would drop me, but now I can't be so sure, can I? I mean, I never thought that you would hurt me and you did, so who knows maybe you would lead me into a wall."

For a moment Beck was about to argue with her, but then he thought about what she was trying to hide behind her attitude. He had to make things right between them again and that was his chance to do that. Looking around he saw that their teacher and the others were busy and didn't pay them any mind, so he gently pulled Jade aside so they could talk in peace. She wasn't looking at him so he softly pulled her chin up so he could face her.

"I'm really sorry that I hurt you, but it won't happen again. I love you." Beck saw the hard look in her eyes disappear and moved a little closer to her. "You can trust me. I won't disappoint you again."

"You better not." Her words were harsh, but he could see a small smile on her face.

Slowly he leaned in and his lips met hers in a soft kiss. It was the first kiss they shared since the alphabet improve and Beck realized how much he had missed being so close to her. Letting go of her chin he pulled her closer by her waist and felt her hands in his hair before he deepened their kiss. It wasn't long before their teacher called them out on their display of affection, but Beck was glad that everything was back to how it should be.

The rest of the lesson went smoother for him, because Jade finally let him lead and even smiled a few times. He had really missed being with her like this and he promised himself to never again do something that would upset her. After school they drove to his RV and watched The Scissoring and despite that he had already watched it a million times with her, he couldn't be happier. He had his Jade back.

The next day in class during Tori's second try at the bird scene they sat as close together as they used to and Beck could only smile at the girl in his arms. Before Tori started her scene he leaned down and kissed Jade softly. When she raised an eyebrow at him and asked what that was for he smiled.

"Because I love you."

"Sap." Despite her words she lay a hand on his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss. They pulled away just in time to see Tori start the bird scene.

Jade: The Bird Scene

Since Beck's stage kiss with the new girl a few days ago, Jade could see a change in her boyfriend. Normally he didn't protest when girls flirted with him, but the last few days he politely rejected them and instead immediately walked over to her when he saw her. Jade had no doubt that he would go back to making her jealous in a few weeks, but for now he seemed only concentrated on winning her trust back and she couldn't deny that she loved having his full attention. Despite sometimes openly holding his hand, to tell other girls that he was off limits, there was still something holding her back.

Their first salsa class showed him and her that she was still not fully trusting him again. Letting him lead during a dance might not seem so big of a deal but for her it was. Maybe it had something to do with letting someone control her or trusting someone to lead her the right way, she wasn't so sure herself.

After he had pulled her aside to talk to her, she decided to listen to him and see where he was going with this. When he told her that he loved her with that honest look in his eyes she found her heart melting. They weren't a couple that threw those three important words around carelessly. When one of them said them it held a meaning and hearing him say them now reassured her that she was the only one he cared for in that way, not Tori, not other girls, only her. A small smile found its way on her face and the following kiss sealed the deal.

Later that day they watched her favorite movie in his RV and it felt like nothing had happened between them. Laying next to Beck with his arms around her, she thought back to her own bird scene. She had passed it on her first try because, after having already defended her choice for this school in front of her father, she was confident. Beck had passed on his second try and Jade had watched both scenes. Back then they had hardy been friends, seeing that Beck had only been two weeks at Hollywood Arts at that time. A lot had changed since then and she wasn't willing to let their carefully built relationship crash and burn only because of the new girl.

When Tori finally managed to pass her bird scene on her third try and they all went for lunch together Jade thought that maybe it would all work out, but she still had to get her revenge on Tori before everything could get back to normal. However for now she just wanted to enjoy lunch with her boyfriend, as well as Andre and Robbie's pained expressions and hilarious story about their ballet class.
