Jade: Stage Fighting

It was a lazy Wednesday afternoon and Jade watched Cat and Beck while they rehearsed their stage fight. Her best friend was still a little wary about pretending to be hit. Jade knew that Cat was trying her best, but it still didn't look real, so she volunteered to play Cat's part to make her best friend more confident and help them with their scene. Of course nothing went wrong, after all Beck had the most experience with stage fighting from all of them. When Cat asked her how she was so confident that nothing bad would happen, Jade smiled gently at her.

"It's all a matter of trust. I trust Beck and you should too."

To help Cat a little more Jade acted Beck's part and Cat wasn't hesitant. The meaning behind it was clear, Cat trusted her and Jade was once again glad that she had chosen Cat as her best friend. Most people couldn't understand that they were so close, but they had often been there for each other and trusted the other.

After the last happenings around Tori Vega, trust had been an even more important aspect for Jade. The kiss between the new girl and her boyfriend had put her trust to a hard test. She had forgiven Beck after a while, but revenge was still on top of her list when it came to Tori.

Shaking her head lightly Jade concentrated back on Cat and Beck, who were now making progress with their scene. Her best friend wasn't as hesitant as she had been before, but still more than with her a few minutes ago. When Jade got bored of seeing the same scene over and over again she walk to the piano in the far corner of the Blackbox Theater. Everyone at Hollywood Arts had to play an instrument and she had chosen the piano. Something about the beautiful elegance it represented and the emotional melodies that could be created with it had pulled her in.

Softly she began to play, losing herself in a new song that she was working on. She knew that Cat and Beck wouldn't mind. Both of them were probably too concentrated on their scene to even notice and a little background music wouldn't hurt. She didn't know how long she had been so engrossed in her work until she felt someone gently lay his hands on her shoulders. When she looked up she saw her boyfriend, his eyes full of wonder.

"That was beautiful."

It was rare that Jade played the piano in front of others, especially when she worked on songs. It was something very personal and normally she didn't let anyone hear her until the song was finished.

"It really was. Is that a new song?" Cat asked and only now Jade realized that her best friend stood next to her on her other side. She wondered how long these two had listened to her before Beck had made their presence known.

Jade nodded and Cat smiled at her. Maybe it was alright that she let these two hear her new song before it was ready, after all they were one of the most important people in her life.

Beck: Stage Fighting

Beck didn't know how he should feel when he found out that Jade had faked her black eye to get back at Tori. Surprise wasn't on the list of things that he felt. He had suspected that his girlfriend would eventually get her revenge for Tori's behavior during the alphabet improve. Jade was a great actress, there was no doubt about it, so it had been easy for her to pull this off, but he was hurt that she didn't at least tell him the truth. Was this disappointment, that he was feeling right now, what Jade had felt when he had kissed Tori? If it was, he felt not only disappointed but also guilty again.

Later that day, when he asked Jade about why she hadn't said anything to him about it, she rolled her eyes and told him that it was because he would have tried to stop her from doing it. Of course he would have, what she had done was wrong. Beck didn't want to let her off so easily, but his girlfriend countered with something that he didn't expect.

"So how is this any different from your kiss with Tori? We made a deal that things that happen on stage won't affect our relationship, so you don't get to be angry at me for that."

Beck couldn't argue with that, but he still thought that revenge wasn't the right way to go about a problem. Jade told him that she only forgave him for the kiss, but not Tori. Knowing that, he was even more surprised when he saw Jade and Tori come out of the school together. His girlfriend looked amused while Tori smiled brightly. That was a picture Beck thought he would never see. He knew that Tori had detention and Jade had told him that she had to do something quickly so he had waited for her by his car. As it turned out Jade had gotten Tori out of detention. Beck smiled lightly at that and kissed his girlfriend.

Jade was generous today and even let Beck drive Tori home. On the way to Tori's house he learned that they owned their freedom a trick, that of course Jade had come up with. Tori seemed happy about the development between her and Jade as well and even his girlfriend seemed okay with the new girl for now. If all this needed to happen for these two to be alright with each other, it was worth it.

When they arrived at the Vega household and Tori got out of the car Beck smiled slightly at Jade.

"So you two get along now?"

"I wouldn't go that far. We're never going to be best friends." Jade said, rolling her eyes.

"You have Cat for that anyway." Beck smiled knowingly at his girlfriend.

Jade didn't said anything, so that was a clear confession that Beck was right. Sometimes Beck still wondered how these two could be best friends, but somehow they balanced each other out. This week had surely been eventful, even for Hollywood Arts standards. Since Tori came to this school they both had made mistakes. He had kissed the new girl and Jade had faked a black eye to get Tori into detention. Of course what Jade had done was wrong, but she had made it up to Tori in her own way. On top of that Jade wouldn't have had any reason to do what she did if he hadn't let Tori kiss him, so it was partly his fault. He had wanted to teach Jade a lesson and had kissed Tori to show her that revenge was wrong, but he hadn't been better in the end. No matter how he tried to look at it, they both hadn't done a good job in not letting their acting interfere with their relationship. Beck was glad that they had a deal now. Nothing that happened on stage would interfere with their relationship, because the drama belonged on stage and not in real life.
