Beck: Freak The Freak Out

When Beck arrived with Andre, Robbie and Tori at Karaoke Dokie they came just in time to see Sikowitz's performance. As strange as their teacher was, they couldn't deny that he made an entertaining show. However Jade and Cat's performance the other night was more amazing in Beck's eyes. He always loved to see Jade on stage and when the crowd had so obviously been on her and Cat's side he had been proud. Speaking of his girlfriend, despite that she stood close to him during Sikowitz's performance, he felt that she kept a distance from him and he saw that she had wordlessly laid his car keys on the table in front of him.

After they had congratulated Sikowitz on his show and gave him a towel Beck tried to speak to Jade when she was about to get up from her seat. When their eyes met he immediately saw anger and to his shock hurt in her eyes.

"My mom is waiting for me and Cat to take us home."

"But didn't we want to spend the rest of the weekend together in my RV?"

"Wouldn't I love to spend my weekend with my boyfriend who called me a gank in front of my best friend and Andre."

"I never called y-"

"Cat told me that you agreed with Andre when he called me that word, so you might as well called me that yourself. I'm certainly not happy when people call me a gank, but it doesn't matter to me because they don't know me. You however know me as good as my mom and Cat and called me that." Her voice almost broke and Beck desperately wanted to tell her that she was wrong, but she continued before he could say anything and her next words hurt him deeply. "You would be better off with a blond cheerleader with her picture perfect life and family, who gets along with all of your friends and no one would ever think about calling her a gank. Maybe my father was right after all and you just keep me around to warm your bed until someone better comes around."

With that said she called for Cat to come with her. When he reached for Jade's arm to hold her back, so he could explain himself, she roughly pulled away and almost screamed at him to not touch her before her and Cat left Karaoke Dokie. Jade's words burned a hole in his heart. He had hurt her deeply. He never meant to call her that because sure, she could be mean sometimes, but she never deserved to be described with that word. Of course Cat would tell her best friend everything, so it shouldn't have surprised him that she had told his girlfriend.

Anxiously Beck ran a hand through his hair. Sikowitz, who was Jade's favorite teacher, or at least had been until he gave Tori the lead in all his plays, had called her that in front of the class as well as Tori and he hadn't said anything against it. When Andre had said that about her, he had even agreed. Guilt washed over him. He should have said that they were wrong and that his girlfriend wasn't a gank. She could be mean, but she was a good person and he loved her.

The next thing that came to his mind was what Jade had said about her father and that he would be better off with a cheerleader. Beck remembered the video Robbie had given him after the whole Robarazzi accident. Had her father constantly told her that she wasn't good enough for him to stay with her? Had he told her that he was only using her until someone better came around? Her father was a horrible person, but now, after he didn't stand up for his own girlfriend and even practically called her a gank himself, Beck knew that he wasn't better than Mr. West.

Shaking his head, he knew that he had to fix this. He tried calling her but only reached the mailbox and she didn't answer any of his texts. Looking at the rest of his friends, who were excitedly talking to Sikowitz and watching the next singer on stage, he felt out of place. He felt awful for what he had done and he didn't know how he could make it up to her. His words and his lack of defending her against the others must have hurt her deeply. Normally Jade didn't like others fighting her battles when she could defend herself just right, she had often told him that, but maybe in this situation she had wanted him to stand up for her. He had messed up big time and he knew that she wouldn't just forgive him something like this easily. How could he fix this?

Jade: Freak The Freak Out

Jade was annoyed to say the least. She didn't really like asking Vega for help but her revenge plan against those girls wouldn't work without her. Leaving the guys with Trina they drove over to Cat's house where her best friend had the things from her theater make-up class. While Tori changed in Cat's bathroom and put the things they had given her on, Cat turned to Jade with an uneasy expression. Jade knew her best friend and the look on her face showed her that what Cat was about to tell her was serious. Her best friend was hardly like this which worried Jade and Cat's next words really hit home.

"I thought about it and I know you won't like it but I just have to tell you. Yesterday when we were at Karaoke Dokie and you walked away to get yourself a drink Andre and Beck spoke about you." Cat paused and looked away from her before continuing almost in a whisper. "Andre said that you could be a gank and Beck said that he had no idea."

The words took a moment to register in Jade's mind, but when they did she felt her heart squeeze painfully. Sure, Sikowitz and Tori had called her that already, but that didn't bother her. If they thought that she was a gank she could care less. Both of them weren't her friends and Sikowitz had lost her respect when he had started giving Tori the leads in all his plays. However Andre saying that was different. She almost considered him a friend, but right now she was only focused on Beck and his behavior. She let only a few people so close to her that they were able to hurt her and he was one of them. He knew her as good as her mom and Cat, who she trusted the most and he still allowed others to call her a gank and even agreed with them. It hurt so much to know that and she closer her eyes for a moment to stop herself from showing how much it hurt.

"Jade." Cat's voice was soft and concerned and Jade opened her eyes to see her best friend come closer. She didn't refuse the hug that followed and found herself actually valuing that Cat wanted to show her that she was there for her, just like she had been there for Cat after Daniel and Tori had kissed. She really couldn't wish for a better best friend. When they heard Tori calling for them to help her with her wig they pulled away and Jade gave Cat a weak but thankful smile before they went into the bathroom to help Tori.

Tori entered Karaoke Dokie first and Jade and Cat followed ten minutes later. Seeing the two girls, who had cheated on the singing contest the night before, made Jade angry and it felt good to let that anger and her hurt about Beck out on them. She was surprised that even Cat seemed angry and Jade guessed that her best friend was not only upset about the girls but about Beck's behavior as well. Cat had hardly negative feelings, but when it came to someone hurting her best friend she could be mean, even though her attempts weren't always as successful as Jade's.

Seeing that her revenge plan was working lifted Jade's mood immediately, but when Beck showed up with the other guys and Tori, she felt her anger and hurt flame up again. The confrontation with Beck that followed made her feel a little bit better, but it didn't hold long. During the drive to Cat's house her best friend tried to brighten her mood while chatting to her mom, but it didn't help much. When they dropped Cat off by her house and drove away her mom asked her what was bothering her. Jade decided that she would tell her what she was feeling and see what her mom would say.

"Who would have thought that mean words from a person you love could hurt more than the sharpest scissor."

"People who we love make mistakes too, but that doesn't change the fact that they love us nor that we love them. Talk to him, baby girl. Listen to what he has to say and then you can decide if you can forgive him or not."

Her mom never failed to amaze her. She hadn't even told her that she had meant Beck and what had happened, but her mom still gave her the best advice. For now Jade just wanted to sleep, but tomorrow she would listen to him and see for herself if he was still worth being loved by her.

Sunday afternoon her doorbell rang and when she opened the door Beck stood there with roses. He immediately told her that he knew that she didn't like flowers but that he had thought that she would surely like to cut them up with her scissors so he had bought them for her. It was almost cute how nervous he looked and his rambling didn't help his case either. She gestured for him to come in and they sat down on the couch. When she told him that she would listen to what he had to say, he immediately took the opportunity.

"First of all let me tell you that I'm sorry, really sorry. You know that I would never purposely do something to hurt you. It's true that you can be mean to others, but you don't deserve to be called that word. I shouldn't have let others call you that and I definitely shouldn't have agreed with Andre. I made a huge mistake and I can understand if you don't want to be with me any more after what has happened. Just know that I'm really sorry. I love you and I'll never want anyone else but you."

In his eyes she could see how guilty he was feeling and his words were serious and still so loving. He was truly sorry for what he had done and she could see that. It wasn't easy to forgive him, but having heard his words and seeing him being completely honest with her made it possible. He still had to prove that he meant it the next time someone called her that word. However now, that he knew how she felt about the matter, she was sure that he would behave differently in a similar situation.
