Jade: The Diddly-Bops

Jade couldn't believe that she was spending her afternoon at Vega's house trying to come up with a kids song. Sure, they got money for performing in front of four-year-olds, but was that really worth it. At least Robbie came up with a good song in her opinion. Why not tell the kids the hard truth? Though she wondered how Robbie came up with the text. The only good thing that came out of being here was that she got to cut up yellow flowers, two things she hated, flowers and the color yellow. That Tori was complaining that her mother grew them in her garden was a bonus.

Thinking about their upcoming performance again Jade was glad that her brother had never been an annoying child. There was only a two year age difference between them, but still. Sometimes she loved to scare her brother by sitting in the bathroom for hours and not letting him in, but over all they had a good relationship. Jade cared deeply for her brother. That she had agreed to come to her father's engagement party only so he didn't have to go alone proved that. Her brother wasn't fond of their father either, but they didn't have such a rocky relationship like her father and her. Mr. West appreciated that his son went to a normal school and not to a creative one. Despite that her father liked his son better, her little brother hated him exactly for that, because he felt bad that Mr. West was always putting his sister down. Not only Jade cared for her brother, but it was the other way around as well.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Andre told them about the call that he had just received from a music producer. With his happiness about the matter Andre quickly came up with a fitting song for their performance and they were able to go home in no time. Thankfully their performance was over quickly, because Jade was already annoyed enough by her stupid costume. How did a normal person fit everything in these? Her mood was however lifted when she found black paint in Beck's RV. He explained to her that his father had needed it for something in the house and had left him the rest to do with it whatever he liked. Jade wasn't about to waste the opportunity, seeing that she had Tori's history book. It didn't take long for her boyfriend to ask why she was painting her history book black and Jade smirked at him.

"That's not mine. It's Tori's."

"Of course." Beck sighed but couldn't stop the slight grin that showed on his face.

A few days later, before they went to Andre's performance, Jade wanted to see if Sinjin kept his word and cleared the internet of their Diddly-Bops performance. She had asked him nicely to do that for her. Okay maybe she had threatened him to cut his hair off with one of her beloved scissors if he wouldn't take it down. Anyway, Sinjin had promised to do that, so he better have done it. When she entered the name Diddly-Bops their video didn't come up any more, but a video of fake Diddly-Bops who were attacked by children. Jade couldn't suppress a loud laugh and Beck looked strangely at her. She gestured for him to come see this and he reacted the same way, even though maybe with a little more compassion than her.

"Just for the record, you looked better in the hamburger than Trina."

"Jeez thanks." She rolled her eyes at him, but leaned over to give him a short kiss anyway.

After they had gotten ready they went to Andre's performance. It was really amazing what Andre had made out of the song and Jade had to admit that he was talented. Hopefully the music producers, who Vega had promised would come, could see that they should give Andre a chance. Even if it weren't those producers Jade was sure, that with the Diddly-Bops video out of the internet now, other music producers would be interested in him. With Beck's arm around her, listening to Andre's song, she couldn't help but think that the week had turned out alright in the end.

Beck: The Diddly-Bops

Beck smiled when he heard Andre's new version of Favorite Foods and clapped for his friend during his performance. He was glad that they never had to be the Diddly-Bops again and he was sure everyone except Cat felt the same about the matter.

After Tori and Andre's performance him and Jade went to congratulate them when Andre was approached by the music producer and his boss. They left them alone to talk in peace and they all anxiously waited for Andre to come back and tell them if the producers had changed their mind. When after a few minutes Andre came over to them, smiling brightly, they knew that the conversation had gone in his favor. Andre told them that the music producers were considering him again after they had seen his performance today. Even Jade, who let other people barely close to her, hugged Andre before smirking at him.

"By the way, I asked Sinjin to take the video down."

"Babe, you forced him and threatened him to cut all of his hair off if he wouldn't do it." Beck reminded her.

"Forced, asked, it's all the same. Anyway, the video finally doesn't exist anymore."

Andre smiled gratefully at Jade and Tori looked relieved too. Beck thought that people didn't realized that his girlfriend often did nice things for people. Sure, she was interested in getting the video down as well, but he knew that she had mainly done that for Andre because he had been so bothered by it.

His thoughts were interrupted when Cat and the other fake Diddly-Bops came over to them, looking slightly disheveled. Jade sarcastically told them that maybe they just should have sang Robbie's song about broken glass. Of course his girlfriend had loved Robbie's idea to sing a song about eating broken class to four-year-olds, but he wouldn't have her any other way.

Beck was one of the only ones who knew Jade could be good with children if she wanted to. When they had been in Canada together last summer his little five year old cousin was ignored by the other kids on the playground during their family picnic and Jade had witnessed that. Maybe she shouldn't have yelled directly at the other kids, but she had tried to help his little cousin and that was what mattered. His relatives had called her rude for it and totally ignored that the five year old was smiling when she had seen Jade standing up for her. The rest of the picnic she had sat with him and Jade and his girlfriend had gone even as far as letting the little girl sit on her lap while she had eaten. Of course his relatives had ignored that completely and only focused on that she had yelled at little kids, which was unfair. That his little cousin was always happy to see Jade after that, despite her constantly wearing black, what normally frightened little kids, spoke volumes how much she appreciated what Jade had done.

Shaking his head to come out of his thoughts, Beck leaned down and gave Jade a small kiss. When she asked him what it was for, not that she was complaining, he smiled at her.

"For being you."

Despite that she called him a sap and lightly hit his arm, she pulled him closer and kissed him again more passionate. He was glad that everything had turned out alright in the end for Andre. With the money Beck had earned by singing a kids song in a sausage costume he would make sure to take Jade on a special date.
