The long game lasted just as long as anyone could imagine. By morning everyone was exhausted. Aiden and Aaron were fast asleep in Auggie's bedroom as Josh and Maya talked to Amy and Alan at the door. "Are you guys sure?" Josh asked. "Because we can absolutely our son home. We are his parents after all."

"Oh it's no problem! We've been dying to spend sometime with Aiden before his birthday. You guys haven't been up to Philly at all since he's been born! But you two also need some time to yourself so we'll watch him for the next few days while we're in town." The couple looked at Josh's parents with a nervous look. "We've got this!" Alan emphasized. "Now go! Go home, go eat breakfast!

Maya laughed as Josh thanked his parents one more time before Maya wrapper her arms around Josh's and walked out the door with him. As they made it to the street Josh took out their car keys but Maya placed her small hand over his and slowly brought his hand down. "Let's walk. We can come back and get the car later. It's a beautiful morning and it's the first morning in a really long time that neither of us are up changing diapers. So I say we enjoy it."

Although he was tired, Josh couldn't help but love the idea. "Okay gorgeous," he agreed. "Where to?"

Pulling her boyfriend's arm she smiled. "Now that is an easy question to answer. Topanga's."

The pair entered Topanga's in the wee hours of the morning using Katy's key and sneaking in. "Maya! You didn't say it was closed! Or that you were going to use your mom's key!"

Maya walked behind the counter holding up the key and smirked. "Honey you're so naive. I totally made a copy years ago. I've always had this key."

Josh threw her an exasperated look and swiftly shut the door behind him. "You are a terrible influence." Maya shrugged and laughed as Josh walked towards her. "So what did you find for us to eat?" he asked, looking over the counter.

"I knew you'd be on board," Maya smiled as she pulled out a slice of cake from under the counter. "Looks like we have a slice of red velvet cake. I'm gonna go look for forks."

Maya turned her back towards Josh as he stared at the slice in front of him and smiled. He loved red velvet cake. Some could even say it was his favorite. "I'm definitely satisfied with what you found," he said as Maya came back with two forks. The pair dug in and shared little smiles over the counter. Just as they did when they first fell for each other. With his mouth half full he let slip, "I definitely think we should have red velvet cake at our wedding."

Maya stopped mid-chew and looked at Josh. "Our wedding?" Swallowing, she set her fork down and wiped her mouth. "You've been talking about weddings a lot lately. Is everything okay? Is this your weird way of saying you want to get married?"

Josh shrugged. "I mean yeah, I obviously want to marry you one day. I've just been trying to see how you feel about it."

"Well you haven't asked how I've felt."

Josh scoffed and put down his fork. "Oh I've definitely asked." Maya raised an eyebrow. "Maya I literally just asked you on the way to Cory's."

Remembering Maya scowled and picked up her fork again. "Oh shoot. You're right." Sticking her fork back into the cake they had left she answered him. "Well then yes. I want to marry you one day too." Josh smiled and opened his mouth. "But no over the top, huge wedding! I'd prefer something more intimate when the time came. And I'd also love to be done with high school." Maya took a bite and looked up at Josh. "Do you ever think about finishing school? You were doing so great and then I got pregnant and I know that derailed your plans."

Josh gave her a sad smile. "I'd honestly love to. I really enjoyed learning everything and experiencing the world first hand like that. It was really a one of a kind experience. But I'd mainly be going back so I could get a better job for us you know? Grocery stores only pay so much," he laughed. "But I couldn't even imagine doing that right now. You are finishing school soon and quite frankly we need the money. I have to provide for Aiden you know?"

Maya reached over and held Josh's hand. "Josh, I get what you're saying but eventually you're gonna have to go back. And not because we need the money but because you love learning. I don't want me or Aiden keeping you from that. Besides, you know school isn't for me. I never planned going past high school. I was just going to figure things out from there. So you should go back. As soon as I'm done. I know it would mean the world to you."

Josh smiled and squeezed Maya's hand. "Thank you. You're quite literally the most amazing woman."

Maya smiled and looked back down at their near empty plate. "You want the last piece? I know its your favorite."

Missy walked into her home with Aaron on her chest as Charlie walked in behind her with their son's car seat in hand. "You put him down while I make some coffee?" Charlie suggested as he closed the door behind them. Missy nodded in agreement as she walked off down the corridor and Charlie into the kitchen as he checked the time, noting that his mom was at work. Charlie set up the pot as it began to brew, excitedly waiting for those minutes to pass so that he could have a hot cup of coffee in his hand.

Missy walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table as Charlie leaned up against the counter next to the pot. "Reminded me why I let you talk me in to going again? I'm exhausted," Missy complained.

Charlie laughed and crossed his arms over his chest. "Because Josh and Maya are our friends and friends support friends. And you are working-"

"I'm working on being nicer to people," Missy finished. "And I was nice most of the evening! You know Riley's sunshine energy just gets under my skin sometimes."

Charlie glared at her as the pot finished brewing and grabbed two cups. "I don't know why you keep doing that. You know you secretly want to be her friend. Just be nice. She's tried reaching out you on multiple occasions. Maybe you should give her a chance," he finished as he set two cups down on the table. "Plus weren't you and Maya like sworn enemies before she got pregnant?" he added as he took a sip.

Miss rolled her eyes and took a sip of coffee. "You have a point but I refuse to admit that you're right." Charlie laughed and continued to drink. "Where's your mom anyways? I thought she was home at this time."

"She's at work. She picked up overtime. So she's working a twelve hour. Which means she'll be gone until three o'clock, tonight." Charlie said to her while looking over his coffee cup.

Missy smirked and shook her head. "You're terrible Gardner. If I didn't know any better I'd think that you're suggesting that we have sex while Aaron's sleeping and you're mom's gone."

Charlie put down his cup and set Missy's down as well before scooping her up and laughing. "Then you'd be very smart because that's exactly what I'm suggesting."

Riley plopped down on the couch as the rest of her family bounded upstairs to sleep for a few hours while Lucas stood over in their kitchen making her a cup of tea. Bringing it over, he handed it over to her gently before sitting next to her. "Be careful it's hot," he warned. Wrapping his arm around his girlfriend he kissed the side of her head. "You really did a good job with everything Riley. You brought everyone together and gave us all a really memorable night."

Riley shrugged and blew on her tea. "I just wanted everyone to be close before everything started to change. Graduation is right around the corner and soon we'll all be going our separate ways and I've actually been giving school a lot of thought and I've decided that I want to go out of state. With you."

Lucas, confused looked at Riley with pure perplexity written across his face. "I don't get it. NYU has been your dream forever. Why the change?"

"I've just been thinking a lot about my future and what I want. And my dad is always telling us to explore the world and I want to do just that. I just don't know if I can do it if I stay here in New York. So I want to go to school in Texas with you."

"Are you sure? I don't want you to make this decision just because of me." Lucas breathed.

Riley shook her head. "I'm sure. I just have to tell Maya. I know she'll be supportive but it's still hard."

Maya kissed Josh tenderly as they sat in a booth. "I've been thinking about the baby thing and I think I want one more. I just think we should definitely wait until everything dies down. Once you're done with school, one Aiden is older, I think that'll be the right time. How does that sound?"

Josh smiled and held her hand. "That sounds perfect. I'm really excited for the rest of our lives together."

With every passing day Josh grew more and more sure of his decisions. He was going to propose to Maya very soon.
