Sonata is four months pregnant now. She only goes outside to her doctor opponents. She will always schedule them in the evening to keep Gintoki or the people he knows from noticing her. She hasn't spoken to Gintoki since the day she was supposed to tell him she was pregnant. She sat on her couch, rubbing her hands on her stomach. She sighs, then stuffs a chicken strip in her mouth.
"Sonata, it's been four months. Are you not planning to tell Gintoki?" Her sister asked. "No."
"Why?" She sigh. "Because I don't want to ruin his life or keep him from doing what he wants. I know Gintoki will make a great dad. The problem is he is too childish. It won't turn out right." Lena sigh. "You won't know until you tell him. You can't keep this from him, Sonata. Your belly is getting bigger. Someone will spot you. You can not hide this forever."
"Lena, leave me alone. It's better that I don't tell him. I'm leaving in two more weeks. I will be long gone, and Gintoki will never know. There you go, happy ending." She shakes her head. "No. He will be furious if you don't tell him. Put the chicken strip down. No more telling me to go to McDonald's for you. Stop being a wuss and go tell him."
"You know what. I need a giant cheeseburger right now." She looks hungry again for the sixth time. "Sonata!"
"What?"
"Tell him. Now!"
"No... Can't you see I am pregnant with babies right about now? Stop stressing me out."
"Wait a minute. Babies?" Sonata moved in closer to Lena's ear and told her something. Lena's eyes widen. "No way..." Sonata nods her head while rubbing her stomach. "I was shocked too. But now, I'm happy." She sigh. "Sonata. You have to tell Gintoki."
Two weeks finally came. "I'm all packed. Let's go." Sonata leaves out the door. "Sonata, are you sure you don't want to tell him?" Lena asked. "I'm positive. I don't want to be a nuisance to him. So I will take my baby and go." She wobbles to the car. Lena sighed. "Sonata, I don't want to go. Let's stay here in Edo."
"Hell no. If you want to stay here, be my guest."
"SONATA!" Someone yelled her name. She turns around, frowns then looks away. "Oh shit." Sonata tries to run to the car, but Lena blocks her way. "Damn, Lena. Move." Her sister shakes her head. He jumps off his moped, then walks closer. He stood in front of Sonata with a disappointed look on his face. "You were just going to take my baby and run?" Sonata looks up at him without saying a word. The man she did not want to see finally stood in her face. He stares at her stomach without looking away. Gintoki lifts his trembling hands towards her belly, then place them on her bump. He never thought he would see her like this.
"Who told you?"
"Your sister. She told me a week ago. I had to think about what she said. I couldn't imagine you were pregnant. I didn't want to believe it, but when she showed me a video of you eating McDonald's, KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut at the same time. It convinced me that you are pregnant."
She sigh. "Are you angry at me?" He crosses his arms, then looks away. "I was, but I will forgive you soon." She looks up at him. "You don't have doubts about the baby?"
"I thought about it, and I'm not going to lie. I did think this baby couldn't be mine. Then I thought about the last time we were together. Four months and two weeks ago. You were only with me at that time. Were you sleeping with me and only me during our nights together?"
"No one else. If you have doubts, we can take a DNA test." Gintoki sighed. "I would like that. I have a few doubts, but I think this baby is mine. So stay in Edo with me." She sigh. "Damn, I already leased an apartment. Now that you know, I have to stay here." He nods. "Good. I was not going to drive far way to your new place. I might be crazy, but I'm not insane. If you want me to be daddy, you have to keep your ass here where I can spend time with my child." Sonata chuckles. "Alright. Just to let you know, parenting will not be easy." He rolls his eyes. "I can handle a baby, Sonata." She scoffed. "I can't wait to see this. Now help me move my stuff back into the house."
