Chapter Eleven

The next morning, Master Roshi was the first person in the house to awake, being up before the sun could even rise. The early bird always got the worm, of course. He spent a few hours in self-indulgence, deciding that it wouldn't be too much trouble to catch up on a few of his dirty shows before anyone else could get up. Some time later, the Turtle Hermit walked from his bedroom into the living room. Of course, the house was a bit out of order but he didn't mind, Launch would be sure to straighten things out when she got out of bed. Entering the living quarters, the man saw that while Krillin had somehow managed to fall asleep upside down on the loveseat, Launch and the Saiyan, Raditz, were slouched over the larger sofa -the blonde's head resting on top of the fighter's shoulder. Roshi wasn't sure what to make of this but he didn't want to disrupt either or, he was just as terrified of the blonde menace as he was of the tailed Saiyan.

"Krillin, get up," The old master whispered into the youngest of his housemate's ears, poking the young monk. "C'mon now, we don't have all morning." He added, poking the boy again as he began to stir awake.

The monk slowly came back to life, a small yawn beginning to ring out of his mouth before it could be covered by Roshi's wrinkled hand. "Master, wha-?" He began to protest, only to be interrupted by the fierce glare that the old man gave him. Following Roshi's eyes over to the other sofa, his eyes grew just as widened as his master's were at the sight he saw. "T-They're going to kill each other! We have to wake up Raditz, I don't even want to start with that crazy blonde," Krillin stated with a gulp, already certain of what would unfold if either of the two awoke and found someone sprawled over them, invading their personal space as they slept.

Master Roshi then quietly snuck into the kitchen, grabbing a wooden broomstick from his cabinet. Although he knew that Raditz would be ticked off by what was about to happen, the old man knew that this was better than any situation that involved both an angry Raditz and a psychotic Launch. The Turtle Hermit extended his reach towards the Saiyan, nudging the boy's forehead with the wooden hilt of the broomstick repeatedly. As desperately as he tried to awaken the Saiyan, unfortunately it seemed that he slept like the world's deepest sleeper. On the other side of the coin, Launch slept as light as a pound of feathers, and as soon as the tip of the broom brushed past one of her golden locks, the hermit felt his heart drop into his stomach as both of her green eyes snapped open.

The blonde felt a yawn escape her mouth as she fluttered her eyelashes, trying to take in the environment she'd awaken to. Turning to see the Saiyan lying fast asleep next to her, Launch felt a frown tug at her face as she snatched the blanket from herself and Raditz in a pit of fury. This was more than enough to shake the boy's discomfort and from his slumber, the same grimace that Launch wore surfacing on the Saiyan's own face.

"So, anybody's going to tell me what the hell's going on here?" Launch groaned, rubbing her eyes. Clad in just a gray shirt and some panties, the blonde made sure to grunt as she flashed off a brand new gun at the boys. "Thought that you could lay up with me like some cheap whore, huh pretty boy?" She spat out, turning the barrel of the gun to an unfazed Raditz.

The Saiyan's eyebrows tugged at him as he turned to face the barrel of Launch's firearm. Moving efficiently and faster than she could see, Raditz reached his hand out, grabbing the muzzle of the gun. Then with strength only he could muster, he bent the piece of metal to the sky and out of his face. Just as the blonde's finger slammed into the trigger as she had done the previous day, a barrage of bullets shot through the ceiling of Kame House instead of at Raditz. Before she could even begin to bicker with the fighter, the beautiful blonde was knocked back into her slumber with one of Raditz's swift swipes to the back of her neck. 'I wonder where she keeps finding these things,' The Saiyan said to himself, further squashing the submachine gun into a small square of sheet metal.

"You must learn to be gentle with the young ladies, Raditz… well, I'll check to see if she's too badly hurt," Master Roshi snickered, hopping onto the couch where the dark haired woman lay asleep. He knew that she was good, but the old pervert wasted no time in ravaging his hands all over her soft body, checking for what he said could be small contusions. "You two go get ready, we should have started your training by now," He added, seeing just how awkward the scene appeared.

"Alright Raditz, Krillin," Master Roshi told his two students, standing in front of the rising sun. Originally, after overhearing that the two boys had gotten themselves into a bit of an altercation, he had been disappointed in both, specifically Raditz, for knocking out the much smaller and weaker Krillin. However, both of them had admitted that Krillin had acted as the aggressor and as such, the Saiyan was simply teaching the boy a lesson it seemed. Now, the two seemed to be getting along far better than previously and they hadn't bickered all morning! "Before we begin our training, we must first begin with a brief run to warm up our muscles." The old man instructed, following his statement by jogging down the trail he had led the boys to.

After a few minutes of light jogging, the old master and his two students finally arrived at what Raditz and Krillin thought were their destination. The Turtle Hermit came to a stop, walking towards a small white cabin where a goat milkman was stacking blue crates filled with bottles of fresh milk.

"Good morning! I'm Master Roshi, I believe that we spoke over the phone yesterday?" Roshi asked the man, who confirmed this, greeting the old master. "Oh don't worry, I know the usual route. My students and I will be sure to have all of this milk delivered before breakfast."

"That's a lot of milk," Krillin said to himself, interjecting into the conversation between Roshi and the milkman. "Pardon me master, how could delivering milk help us with our martial arts skills?"

"Oh, you'll just have to wait and see, kid," Master Roshi replied, bending over and grabbing one of the crates to hand to Krillin and then another to Raditz. "We'll start off skipping for the first three miles until we get to the first house. Then we'll see how you two are faring,"

Raditz's face dropped as he grabbed the crate and followed behind the Turtle Hermit without any sort of smart comment. Just like Krillin, he also had no idea how delivering milk would help with his training but he kept that to himself -at least for the time being, until he had the chance to see what exactly the training consisted of. Who knew, maybe Roshi would have them work on energy attacks with the bottles acting as target practice? Nevertheless, the Turtle Hermit was the strongest man that Raditz had ever come face to face with, so that meant that this strange method of training had to be somewhat beneficial.

Krillin's face immediately paled, dropping in disbelief as he trailed behind the Saiyan and his instructor. 'D-Did he just say the first three miles?' The Earthling warrior questioned more so to himself, knowing that his body would hate him for this later on in the day. Still though, this was the way of the warrior and however badly he wanted to relax, the young man had made a promise to himself, to see the training entirely through and come out stronger than he even knew he could become.

A little bit over thirty minutes later, the three martial artists came to a halt. Stopping, Master Roshi placed a bottle of milk from Krillin's crate at the porch and knocked on the door. "Very good to the both of you," Roshi stated, turning to face a winded Krillin and a stoic Raditz, the former panting for air and the second not visually winded. He then looked down to check his watch, they were making very good time for sure. "Now, for the next three miles we're going to zigzag through these trees you see down the path," He added, not letting up in the slightest.

Raditz felt his signature smirk fill his face, suppressing a smile when he saw Krillin's face drop once again. In the midst of the training, or whatever Roshi wanted to call his milk delivery service, he had finally realized what the point of the matter was. Through running, skipping, and zigzagging, these exercises were meant to help both him and Krillin improve their physical endurance and stamina reserves. Any true fighter knew that these were important attributes for one in a fight, especially when that fight seemed to drag on. While it wasn't the most effective or exciting method that he could think of to fit this, because of the fact that Roshi was the teacher and not he, Raditz was forced to at least give it a shot.

Finally arriving at the tenth and final home, nearly two hours after they had started, Krillin could feel as his legs stung in pain. Leaning on the closest wall he could find, the monk managed to speak between overexaggerated gasps for air, "F-Finally… we're done," He stated, his hands on his knees as he tried his hardest not to take a seat where he stood.

"Not exactly," Master Roshi interrupted, correcting his student. Taking a hit from his pipe, the old master took a seat. "But we will take a five minute break before we continue up a few stairs and onwards with our training."

"Okay, sounds good to me," Krillin mumbled to himself, using a forearm to wipe off the beads of sweat that were collecting on his forehead. He was just glad to finally be finished delivering the crates of milk… his back was killing him! However, the boy's face paled as he glanced up and realized that by a few stairs, Roshi had been referring to an extreme trail leading to and spiraling up to the peak of a mountain some ways away from where they now were.

"Okay, let's get started," Master Roshi exclaimed after the break. Beginning their ascent up the stairs, the Turtle Hermit was far ahead of his pupils before long but didn't look back, knowing that they would eventually catch up.

A couple of hours later, Raditz lied to himself in the cool shade that a tree brought him, resting his sore body. Once he and Krillin had delivered the final crate of milk and ascended the stairs, Master Roshi had continued to overwhelm the boys with task after task. From plowing an entire field with their bare hands to pushing boulders, construction work and even swimming laps in a shark infested river, the easiest part of the day had come in the 45 minutes he had Krillin and him studying up on the history of martial arts.

While it had been bizarre for lack of a better word, Raditz knew that with how tiring the work had been so far, improvement was sure to follow behind it. After they had completed everything, the Turtle Hermit had given the boys the rest of the day to do as they pleased, and that for as long as he needed them to, what they had done would be their daily training regime. Raditz had hoped that Krillin would at least be up for a sparring match before dinner but the activities had taken a large toll on the Human. Right after they had gotten home, the Earthling, way too exhausted to even try to talk to anyone, had collapsed into the comfort of the living room's sofa, leaving Raditz without a sparring partner for the evening.

Reviews and Responses:

Daisuke SSJ (from Chapter 1): Amigo, me gusta mucho.

Lo leí con traductor de google.

Me gusta la historia

Response: Thanks for reading it, I'm not a Spanish speaker but I used Google Translate to see what you were saying. I hope you continue to enjoy this.

JCarrasco (Chapter 1 and 10): Keep it up I love this story please.

Response: Yeah, I've heard a lot from people who just found this story and saw it back when I first began. I'm glad I could put together something that so many people are enjoying, love it for you guys!

Athena Hirdman (Chapter 1): I love this story please keep writing chapters

Response: A little late I know, but I've made sure to update it more so recently… hope you're still enjoying this

Hamza9236 (Ch. 1): So is Goku, aka Kakarot taking Raditz's place in the Frieza Force with Vegeta and Nappa?

Response: I don't want to reveal too much but I can say that Kakarot is not just taking Raditz's place, this story will be much different than the usual just switch Goku and such and such. However, there is a Saiyan(s?) that will be in the Frieza Force with Vegeta and Nappa in this world, stay tuned to find out who!

Trebeh (Ch. 2): Thank you for the update. Looking forward to the beginning of their journey.

Response: Yeah, I'm glad you like it so far. I hope that this story is as great revised as it was when you first read it!

Soda (Ch. 2): I like where the story is going so far, and not my boy Raditz having a PL below 70 at 18 years old, canon Raditz is rolling in his grave. It makes sense tho, he would just speed through Dragon Ball if he had his canon PL. Hope you keep updating.

Response: Yeah, originally I thought I had nerfed Raditz too much but it makes sense right? Canon Goku had a PL of 10 at the start and didn't get close to 400 until Z started. It would make sense that without much competition, Raditz's power level would hardly rise… eventually he'd reach a plateau that solo training can't transcend without something like Bulma's Gravity Machine.

Bulma Briefs Fan (Ch. 3): Lol I'm glad you don't have Raditz overrun Bulma because we all know Bulma has the attitude of a female Saiyan. I'm looking forward to seeing how their relationship grows, I've never read a Rad/Bulma story… can't wait to see if they have a Gohan or a Trunks!

Response: Thanks, I was thinking that too. Bulma deals with Vegeta's shit in canon Z so easily that I couldn't let her just be run into the mill by Raditz, she's the only one who matches his energy from the jump if you couldn't tell.

Soda (Ch. 3): Bulma learning ki manipulation, neat.

Response: Yeah, I never see stuff like this. Sure Bulma is a brainy but I wanted to give another look at her as someone who can at least handle herself, we can't have Raditz always around to save her right? Even then, Raditz is still learning some things himself, maybe teaching her could help him right?

Guest (1) (Ch. 2): I am enjoying this but man 68 is SO low. 18 year old Saiyan boy who trained his body, his fighting style a bit, and ki blasts for years is weaker than the girl who Nam defeated which have a power level of 80.

Response: Yeah, it's still early in our series and who have you seen Raditz fight besides Gohan with a power level above 10? How is he going to improve without competition? And even then, Gohan took nearly 80 years to reach 80 PL and Roshi is only at 139 after centuries, it's a slow grind for now… but look ten chapters later and he's almost twice as strong, stay tuned!
