Lena sat on top of a tall building with a laptop in front of her. She hacks into the security system, then nods. "I'm ready." Sonata nods while putting her gloves on. "You are good to go, but I must warn you. I can only disable the security systems for 20 minutes. Do your job quickly and get out in a hurry."
"Got it."
"Are you sure you can do this, Sonata? Years have passed since you stole information. You almost died fucking with this spy shit. I do not want to lose you again." Sonata sighs. "Relax, I got this." Sonata secures herself to the grapple hook and opens the glass window to the rooftop. After giving her sister the thumbs up, she presses the button, turning off the power in the building. Sonata repels down the rooftop, then lands perfectly on the ground like a cat. "Wow." She stands up, then hides. "What happened? Are you alright?" Lena asked from the headset. "I'm fine. I can't believe I landed right." She laughs. "Well, you are getting old." She laughs. "You're older than me, Lena. If I didn't work out for six months, I would have broken my legs. Now, lead me to the location."
"Go down this hallway to your right, then turn right again. Wait, security is coming, hide." Sonata twists her upper body, then lifts her leg around her head to squeeze into a small space. She hides there while waiting for the guards to pass by. One security flashed the light her way but didn't bother looking. So, he kept it moving. Once they were gone, she came out while twisting her body back to normal. "What the fuck?! Being flexible sounds disgusting. I heard your bones cracking through my earpiece."
"Shut up." Once she got to the location, Lena unlocked the door. "You know, you are very good at this hack thing." She smiles. "Thank you." Sonata closed the door, then began looking for the information. "You got five minutes." While searching, Sonata found a disk. "I got it." The lights came back on, and so did the alarm. The agent looks around the room. "What the hell Lena? You said I had five minutes left!"
"I'm sorry, but someone has hacked in, turning the power back on. I can't get through. Get out of there!" She sighs. "Oh, great." Sonata put the disk in her chest, then ran towards the door. She stopped when she heard the guards. She took out the grapple gun and hooked herself onto it. With a loud bang, she pulls the trigger. The hook breaks through the glass ceiling and grabs the edge. When guards burst in, pointing guns, she was already in the air heading to the roof. The guards started shooting. "Head to the rooftop!"
"Lena, you know we're about to jump off a rooftop, right?"
"I know."
"What? We need to stop."
"Are you crazy? We will get shot. We have to make this jump." Lena grabs onto her arm. "You're crazy!" They scream as they jump, getting ready to break every bone in their body or die. It was the worst decision, but they couldn't get caught. While falling, a helicopter came and leaned to its side. Sonata and Lena fall in, then hit their heads and backs on the other side of the door. "FUCK!" They hiss in pain. "So nice of you two to drop in." They turn around. "Luke?" Sonata said. "I called and told him we needed transportation," Lena said. Sonata nod. "Did you get the disk?" She shows it to him. "Mission complete."
Several hours later. Sonata walks into her house to see Gintoki and the twins sleeping on the couch again. They kick Gintoki in the face several times as Sonata smiles. She didn't want to wake them, so she let them sleep. When she turns away, Gintoki grabs her arm. She looks down at him. "Where have you been?"
"At work, stupid. Where else can I go?" Sonata snatches her arm, then walks away. Gintoki tries to get off the couch, but the twins kick his face again. He pushed their feet away, then stood up. "Take the Lollipop. You stupid squirrel," Gintosu pointed in his sleep. "You're...stupid... Gintosu," Ginharu said in his sleep.
Gintoki walks towards Sonata. "Where are you coming from?" She sighed. "At work, so stop asking me questions." He crosses his arms. "I don't believe you. It's two in the morning. No one comes from work this hour." She rolls her eyes. "You'll be amazed if you only knew how many people leave work late."
"Not an animation studio!"
"Keep your damn voice down. And mind your business. Do I not ask you questions about your job."
"Here we go again."
"You started this. Do I ask about Snack Smile? Or when are you going gambling or drinking? No! I never ask because I don't give a fuck! You can go anywhere you want."
"I don't understand you. I asked because I was worried about you! You've been gone since yesterday morning, and you're finally back. Look how late it is! Even our kids were worried! They wanted to know if their mama was safe! You are the mother to my children! I wanted to know if you were safe!"
"You don't need to worry about me. I'm fine." Sonata walks over to the twins and strokes their hair. She smiles. "I am sorry that I worried my children." She kisses them on the cheek. "At least you know now. And one more thing. I don't know where you're going or what you are doing. But I do know you're not going to work. And by you not telling me, it will only piss me off. You can keep it to yourself for now. I'll find out soon." Sonata didn't respond to him. After he left, she kissed her children on the forehead, then walked to the room.
Once she was out of sight, the twins opened their eyes. Gintosu stares at his brother. "Ginharu. Are you awake?" He whispered. "Yeah, I'm awake. Do I look asleep to you?" She shrugs. "How should I know? I can't see your eyes because of your bangs." Ginharu lifts his hair and scowls at his brother. "Shut up," Ginharu told him. "You shut up." They sigh. "How many times are they going to argue?" Ginharu whispered. "I don't know. I want it to stop." He nods. "I wish that too." The twins go back to sleep. With her door opened, Sonata heard what the twins said. It hurts knowing she and Gin are upsetting their children because their parents don't get along.
During the afternoon, after school. The Twins went to practice sword fighting with their father. He had them fighting each other again, but this time with real swords. Sonata made Gintoki put armor on the twins. She does not want them to get hurt. And if they do get hurt, she promises to hurt him.
Gintosu swings his sword at his brother multiple times. While he comes at him at full speed, Ginharu blocks it. "Back up and give me some space," Ginharu told him. "In a real battle, your opponent will never give you space. Especially when they want to CUT YOU DOWN!" Gintosu shouted. He shoves his sword at his brother, but Ginharu dodge. He twirls his sword, then jabbed the handle against his brother's stomach. "Ow... That's it, take this!" Gintosu slices down at him repeatedly. Ginharu got fed up the twirled his sword in a circle. Not moving fast enough, Gintosu sliced down on his arm. "Ow... You're lucky I got on armor!"
"Not fast enough," Gintoki told Ginharu. He narrows his eyes at him. Getting back into battle mode, Ginharu ran towards Gintosu and threw his sword at him. Moving quickly, Gintosu slices his sword sideways, sending it back to him. Ginharu caught it, then charged at him. "You throwing shit now?" Gintosu asked. "Shut up!" The twins advanced toward each other, then swung their swords, making their blades clash against one another several times. After giving each other intense glares, they jump back. They needed space and time to think. "That's it!" Gintosu shouted. Moving quickly, he wings his sword diagonally, making a gust of wind blow in Ginharu's face. He almost blew over, but he stood his ground while covering his face. He charges at Gintosu, then swings his sword, hitting him in the leg. Gintosu fell over. "Not strong enough," Gintoki told Gintosu.
His son stood up. "ARGH! I'm sick of this! What's going on?!" He threw his sword to the ground. "Yeah, what's your problem, Dad? All this week, you have been telling us not that were not fast or strong enough," Ginharu said. "You're not. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you."
"We know, and we have been doing everything correctly. So what is the problem?" Gintosu asked. "The problem is that you two lack agility and strength." They can't believe him. "We don't lack in anything," Ginharu said. "Yeah. The only thing that lacks around here is your half-ass teaching." Ginharu nods. "If my teaching is trash, try to take me down right now."
"You ask for it, old man," Ginharu mumbled. The twins pick up their swords, then charge at Gintoki. He sighs then stood up. When they got closer, he snatched their swords away. Gin tosses it, then knocks the twins face-first onto the mat. He pins them down with both of his elbows. The twins stare into space like, what the hell just happened? "Uh-oh. Look what happened. It seems that I'm not the problem. You two are."
"What the hell, man? Get off!" Gintosu shouted. "Yeah, you're too heavy, Dad!" He rolls his eyes. "Shut up..." He plucked their forehead, released them, then stood up. "Now, as I said before. You two are lacking in something, but what's the problem? Is it the armor? I told Sonata this was too much." They shake their heads. "No, we can move freely-AHH!" Gintosu was kicked to the mat by his brother. "Ginharu! Don't roundhouse kick your brother!"
"He had it coming."
"I don't care. You do not-What the hell?!" Gintosu drop kick Ginharu. "Gintosu! What did I say?!"
"I had to get him back!"
"I don't give a damn! You are brothers! You do not fight each other." Ginharu puts Gintosu in a headlock. Gintoki pulls them apart quickly. "I said knock it off! You don't fight each other. Now don't piss me off. I will fight both of you. Since you two can move around, it's not the armor."
The twins push each other as Gintoki finds the solution to their problem. "Stop it. Now, pick up your swords." The twins struggled a bit, but they managed to hold it. "That's the problem. Why didn't you tell me you couldn't lift your weapon?"
"We can lift it," Gintosu said. "Yeah, it's not a problem," Ginharu said. "Bullshit. That's why you two aren't quick or strong. The sword is slowing you down." Gintoki took their weapons away, then tied weights onto the handle. "Here." Once the twins grabbed it, they immediately fell to the floor. "What the hell did you do?!" The twins shouted. "You were supposed to make it lighter. Not heavier," Ginharu said.
"Pick up the swords and swing them 100 times."
"100 TIMES!?"
"Did I stutter? You're lucky I'm being nice. I was going to give you two 300. Now swing them 100 times."
"Why?" Ginharu asked. "You're sword needs to feel light as a feather. Not heavy like Otose's makeup. So I put the weights on them so you two can practice swinging the blade. If the swords feel lighter, I will take the weights off."
"Are you crazy!? We are eight years old. Do you think we can swing these swords now?!" Gintosu shouted. "You can't fight anyone if you can't hold your sword. Now shut up and start swinging."
"And what will we gain by swinging swords?" Ginharu asked. "Yeah, I want proof of this," Gintosu demanded. Gintoki sigh. He kicked up his wooden sword and caught it. "After swinging over 800 times. You should be able to break stuff." They look at each other like yeah, right. "Break stiff like what?" Gintoki lifts his sword with one hand and slices the air sideways. Nothing happened. Gintoki turns to them. The Twins stare at their father. That's it? Slicing wind? They burst out laughing. "Really? Dad? Really? Stop, please, stop," Ginharu said. "Yeah, for the last time. Lake Toya is a wooden sword. It can not cut-"
The wall behind Gintoki shook, then came crumbling down. The Twin's mouths flew open as they wittiness what their father did with that lousy firewood. "Holy shit," Gintosu gasped. "He's a Monster," Ginharu said. His brother nods. "Monster, huh? I was called better names, but I will take it." The twins were so frightened that they backed up. Then they smile, knowing their father is a strong man. "I WANT TO DO THAT!" The twins try to lift their swords. Sonata walks in. "Time to go."
"What? No woman, go away," Ginharu said. "Yeah, we just started."
"You two can continue Monday. Grandma is waiting for you." They sigh. "Alright..." The twins drop their weapons with a big bang making Sonata jump. She stares at Gintoki. "What the hell are you teaching our kids?!" He rolls his eyes. "Mind your business, woman. Training is between us Samurai's."
"Our children are not Samurai!"
"Anyway! Take the weights with you. Where are they going?"
"To my Mother's house for the weekend. She wants to spend time with them."
"Grandma has a girlfriend," Gintosu said. Gintoki is surprised. "Really?" They nod as he smirks. "Interesting," he said. "She does not have a girlfriend. She has a wife," Sonata corrected. "You serious?" Gintoki smirks when he thinks about it. "Mind out the gutter, Gin. And don't act stupid. I told you my mother likes women. She used to crossdress."
"I think it's awesome. It's better to have two Grandmas instead of one," Ginharu said. His brother nods. "Yup, double hugs, double money, double snacks. Two Grandma's rule," Gintosu said. He fist-bumps Ginharu. "I never knew you had two mothers," Gintoki said. "I already told you. Seem like instead of listening to me. You were trying to get me in bed," she whispered. "And I succeeded too." Gintoki grins as Sonata glares at him.
After the Twins left, Gintoki and Sonata looked at each other. Since their children went away for the weekend, the two parents decided to separate. "Bye." When Sonata turns away, Gintoki stops her. "Hey, I have nothing to do tonight." She shrugs. "So? Goodbye, Gintoki." He stops her again. "So, I was wondering. Would you have one drink with me? After we drink, you can leave." Sonata rolls her eyes. "Not going to happen." She turns away, but he grabs her hand again. "It will be quick."
"No, I don't drink, and you know I don't. Now leave me alone."
"You don't need to drink. We need to talk anyway."
"No." He groans. "For fuck sake, Sonata. Do you hate me that much?"
"Yes, I don't want to be around you."
"One drink. Only 1, no funny stuff, I promise." Sonata thought about it. And thought about it, thought about it some more, and thought about it again. "Will you hurry up!" Gintoki shouted. Sonata grabs him by his neck. "Excuse you? Motherfucker?" As she chokes him, he gasps for air. "Please have one drink with me." She thought about it for a few minutes, then released her hand from his throat. "You crazy fucking heifer! I almost died!" She rolls her eyes. "Yeah, right. Stop trying to get attention from people. Fine, just one drink." Gintoki grins as they head to Otose's shop.
An hour pass and Gintoki is drunk. "This is odd. It must be something in the air because I thought I would never see this again. Gintoki and Sonata. Here at my sweet shop at this time of night. It is rare to see you two together. Sonata, you must have lost a bet."
"I did. Eight years ago, when I got pregnant. Now I'm stuck with this." She points to Gintoki. "I told you to leave Edo before it's too late. I'm surprised. You two have been sitting here for an hour. Why aren't you trying to kill each other? What did Gin say to get you in here with him?"
"No funny business."
"You believe that?"
"I always fall for it, Otose. But I'm here to see you. The ass is here to drink, as usual," Sonata said. "Where are the Twins?"
"At my parent's place. I will see them Sunday."
"They better be practicing. If not, 500 swings a day!" Gintoki pointed up for no reason. "What are you teaching our kids? The swords they were holding were too damn heavy."
"Mind your business. We, Samurai, have our secrets."
"For the last time! Our eight-year old's are not Samurai! I told you to teach them self-defense! That's it!"
"Pfft, you know Sonata. Even when I drink, you still don't look attractive. You are still ugly..." He laughs while staring through his empty liquor glass. "Kiss my ass, you annoying bastard." He nods. "I think I have done that before. I could have sworn you liked it."
"Fuck off." She pushes him off his seat. "Why couldn't Katsura be the father of my children? He got a little sense. Or Hijikata? At least he has a fucking job. Shit, I wouldn't mind Tatsuma. He is rolling in yens. I can't believe I'm stuck with you, Gin. What the hell was I thinking?"
"That's what we all asked you," Otose said. "Shut up. You know you prefer me."
"I try to tolerate you, Gin. You see what the fuck I got to deal with, Otose?"
"I told you to stay away from him in the beginning. I see you two still don't get along."
"And we never will," Gintoki said. "We will if you get a job," Sonata added.
"Freelancing is my job. But, speaking of jobs. When was the last time you were at yours? Miss, I will come back home anytime I get ready." She bangs her fist on the counter. "Fuck you, Gintoki!"
"Fuck you too, Sonata!"
Two hours later. In Gintoki's apartment, panting and low moaning fill the room as the bed creaks in the background. "Fuck," he whispered. As the bed rocked faster, she yelled into the pillow to lower her voice. He grunts. She cursed in her native language as his thrusting came to an end. He releases her wrists, then slides his hand slowly down her back. She moaned something sexy in a different language, then yelped when he smacked her butt. She sat up as Gintoki lay down. He pulled her on top of him and pressed his lips to her, sharing a fierce kiss. Sonata pulled away, then lay her head on his chest. He kissed her on the forehead while breathing heavily. "Gintoki, what the hell did we just do?" He chuckles while grabbing the pack of cookies next to him. "I have to replenish my energy. I'm going to need it."
