Continuing that day, Gintoki and Sonata are outside searching to find their twins. After the argument, they haven't spoken to each other. Sonata shook her head. "I can't believe you don't know where our kids are!" He turns to her. "Shut up! They were supposed to come home after school. They just had to see their dangerous, lying mother!"

"I'm not dangerous or a liar!"

"Bullshit! I refuse to believe anything you say."

"You know what, I don't care what you think anymore. JUST FIND MY KIDS!"

A few minutes later, the twins came riding through the city. "Mom! Dad! Huh? What are they doing together?" Ginharu asked. "I hope they didn't do what we think they did." Gintosu joked. Sonata ran towards her children, then snatched them off their motorbikes. She held them tightly between her bosom, not wanting to let them go. "Mom... We're alright," Ginharu said. "Choking! Can't breathe between boobs!" Gintosu shouted. She released them. "I'm sorry, but I was worried about you two. When Gintoki came to me saying he LOST YOU! I panicked. I thought something happened to you."

"We're fine, Mom." She smiles. "Good." She exhaled, then pinched their cheeks. "Ow! What was that for?"

"Don't you EVER do that again! You two scared the hell out of me!"

"We're sorry, Mom."

"Well, now you two have to deal with me because I told you two not to go anywhere else after school!" Gintoki shouted. "We wanted to see mom!"

"I don't give a damn! You weren't supposed to go see her!" Sonata frown. "You don't give a damn?! What's that supposed to mean?!" Ginharu argued. "Do not disobey my authority, Ginharu!" The twins groaned. "Without Mom, your authority means nothing!" Gintosu shouted. "Don't talk back to me, boy!" They turn to face their father. "We won't stand here and let you disrespect our mother!"

"You two! Don't argue with your father!"

"But mom!" She crouched down. "Listen to me. Just forget about it. Your father was worried about you." They shrugged. "So what? He still doesn't have to be a buttface," Gintosu said. His brother nods. "Well, this buttface has to protect you, so I don't care what you two say." The twins sighed. "You can't keep us from our mother. We're still going to see her without your permission," Ginharu declared. Gintoki sighed. "Little brats. Let's go. You two are on grounded until whenever I say otherwise." Gintoki grabs the twins and walks away with their motorbikes.

"No, wait! We need to talk to mom!"

"No! I said let's go!"

"Wait! Mom! Mom, we know what's going on!"

"We know about the attack on Edo!" Sonata stares at them. "What? Who told you that?" Gintoki turns around. "What attack on Edo? What the hell are you and Luke planning, Sonata!" Gintoki asked. "We're not planning anything!"

"This has nothing to do with Luke, dad. It's something Masaya told Mom," Gintosu said. "And how the hell do you know this?!" Gintoki shouted. Sonata shook her head. "You two didn't." They nod. "We followed you to Luke's hideout."

"YOU TWO DID WHAT?!" Gintoki and Sonata are furious. "Are you fucking crazy?! He could have killed you two!" He pointed to Sonata. "This is your fault!" Sonata scowls at Gintoki. "Luke and I have a deal. He will not harm my children!" He scoffed. "You believe that shit?!" The twins stood between them. "Stop, dad! He did not hurt us. He told us everything about what happened to you, mom," Ginharu explained. "Edo is going to be attacked! That's all we know because he wouldn't give us any more information," Gintosu said. "Luke told you all of this?" Sonata asked. "He told us everything! Except for the attack that's coming soon." Gintoki sighed. "That's why you joined him again, to warn him about the attack," Ginharu said. Sonata stares at her children. "Sweethearts, this has nothing to do with you." The twins tried to reply, but Gintoki cut them off. "You heard your mother! You two are nine years old! You should not be involved!" They groaned. "Your father is right. You three have nothing to do with this. Luke will handle this. Don't worry."

"What about you, mom?" Ginharu asked. "You can't fight. You will need us." She smiled at her sons. "No, the only need you two to stay safe, okay? I will be fine, so stay with your dad." The twins look away, feeling disappointed. They can't do anything but stay out of the way. "Okay, mom." She smiled as she hugged her twins. They wrapped their arms around her with tears falling from their eyes. She kissed them both on the forehead, then pulled away. She heard a signal from her earpiece. "I have to go. I will be back soon, okay?" The twins nod. "Gintoki, watch them!" He scoffed. "I will always protect our kids. So whatever Luke and you are doing, keep it far away from our children. I'm not playing." She locks eyes with him. Gintoki is serious. She nods. "I understand. Mommy will be back." The twins look sad. When she turned away, a helicopter came down. She gets in, then takes off in the air. The twins wave to her.

"Let's go," Gintoki told them. They sighed. "Yes, sir." The twins grabbed their motorbikes, then walked home with their father. Gintoki looked down at his kids. They are sad and disappointed by what he and Sonata said. Gintoki does not like when his kids are upset. He sighed. "I know you want to help her, but you can not interfere. What your mother has to do does not involve us. Let her work. She will come back, okay?" The twins nod. "Stop nodding your big heads, and speak. What is going through your minds?" They sighed. "If we tell you, will you do it?" Gintosu asked. "You are my children. I will do anything for you."

"Will you help mom?" Ginharu asked. "No." They scoffed. "You said anything for us," the twins said. "We knew you would say that. We thought you cared about mom," Gintosu said. "I do care about your mother. But this is her mess, so she needs to deal with it." They sighed. "Okay, dad, mom lied to you. When are you going to let it go?" Ginharu asked. "You two don't seem to understand. Your mother has lied to me many times." The twins looked away. "We didn't know." Gintoki sighed while rubbing the back of his head. "You weren't supposed to know. If there was something important she needed to tell Luke, she should have told me what she was doing. She joined the men that tried to kill us. Anyone would have reacted the way I did. I admit I was wrong for telling you to stay away from your mother, but I'm not sorry for trying to keep you two safe. Like it or not, this is what I have to do." The twins looked away. "We understand, dad," Gunharu said. His brother nods.

As the three of them walked home, Gintoki thought about Sonata and his decision not to help her. She decided to work for Luke, so she is in good hands. Whatever Sonata is doing, Luke better stay away him his kids.
