Make It Official

After their first pseudo date, Bella and Sam started to do more together. He had finally taken her out for a real date. Dinner and a movie, and desert at her place.

It wasn't long before they started going on family outings with the girls. Attending the fair and going to the carnival all the way in Seattle. They even went to see movies together, and soon they were joining in on pack functions.

Bella seemed to get along well with the other imprints. She had decided to employ a few of the other imprints, especially after tasting Kim's famous double Dutch chocolate cheesecake.

"Holy crow, I got it!" Bella blurted out after her first slice. "This has to be the best cheesecake I've ever had. Kim, how do you feel if I added this to my cake menu? I'll pay you fairly as long as you don't mind working with me."

"I would absolutely love to, Bella!" Kim squealed.

The girls started talking about other menu options, and finally decided to make a whole new one. Even Claire was giving some pretty good ideas and Rachel was offering to make her famous creamy cheese and turkey stuffed croissants. They were perfect for the tea tray menu.

Sam watched Bella with a glint of joy in his eye. He was glad that Bella had finally started warming up to him and the rest of the pack. She was a wonderful woman and an amazing mother. Of course the thought of having a cub with her had crossed his mind at least a million times over. After all she was his imprint.

Bella stood smiling and laughing with the other imprints. It was getting a little late and it was definitely past the girls bedtime. Ame was still playing dolls with the other girls and Crystal was sound asleep in Sue's arms. Bella gave a light hug to Ame stating that it was time to go home.

"Okay mom," Ame sighed.

"You can play more tomorrow after school darling," Bella replied.

Bella gathered Crystal in her arms and Sam picked up Ame, who was suddenly yawning with a very sleepy expression. They walked quietly to Bella's house, letting Ame fall asleep in Sam's arms. They tucked the girls in together and Bella headed to the kitchen, Sam following close behind.

"Would you like some wine or coffee," Bella asked quietly.

"Coffe sounds great," Sam smiled.

Bella smiled in return, turning to make the coffee. Sam preferred his coffee black; and Bella preferred two sugars, one espresso shot, and three vanilla creamers. However she foregone the espresso and one sugar so she wasn't kept up all night. They cuddled together on the couch, neither one speaking. Just enjoying each other's company. The news was on at a very low volume, almost a light background noise. They sipped their coffee completely relaxed not saying a word.

Questions still burned in Sam's mind about Bella's past, and especially her late husband. He knew she had information that she wasn't sharing and it was driving not only Sam a little crazy with curiosity, but majority of the pack as well. He needed to know now, he just couldn't find the right time to ask.

"Is something wrong?" Bella asked, her brow furrowed.

"It's nothing we need to worry about right this minute," Sam replied, a slight tight smile on his face.

"I'll hold you to it then," Bella smiled.

"Actually there is one thing I would like to ask," Sam said turning his body to face Bella.

"Shoot," Bella replied, sipping her coffee.

"What do you think about making us official?" Sam wondered.

"Like, make it official that we're together as couple?" Bella replied, clarification in her tone.

"Yes," Sam said smiling at his beautiful imprint.

Bella pressed her lips together deep in thought. It had been a few months already and the girls seemed to simply adore Sam. After all she was bonded to him in a supernatural way, and she knew he would be good to her. Clearly she didn't see any issues with making it official.

"Yes! Make it official" Bella exclaimed quietly with a bright smile.

"Wait, really?" Sam beamed at her.

"Yes, of course. The girls love you," Bella explained still smiling.

"And what about you? Do you love me?" Sam wondered.

Bella knew she felt love for this god like man, but she wasn't truly ready to fully admit it just yet.

"I'm starting to," Bella blushed.

Sam couldn't help but smile at his beautiful imprint. She was so perfect in so many ways for him.

"Good," he grinned at her.

Bella took a sip of her now cold coffee as Sam leaned in and kissed the top of her head. She knew eventually everything was going to come out sooner or later and best not to get too attached. She never had good luck in these sort of situations, awkward that is.

Sam listened as Bella's heart began to race before slowing to a steady rhythm. He watched her expression, but no emotions crossed over her face other than the same small smile she kept.

"It's getting late," he whispered kissing her cheek. "I could stay if you want me to, but I think we should wait before a sleepover with the girls here."

"You're amazing," she smiled brightly.

"Well it's sort of an alpha thing," he smiled in her neck.

"What? You knowing what everyone needs?" Bella smirked, pulling back to look at his face.

"Of course," Sam chuckled.

"You're incorrigible," Bella chuckled quietly.

"Insatiable," Sam winked, pecking her lightly on the tip of her nose.

Bella walked Sam to the door and reached up on her tippy toes for a good night kiss. She waved him off after a heartfelt goodbye, and as soon as he was no longer in sight Bella let out a sigh of relief. She quietly closed the door and set the deadbolt before sneaking back to her room. Once inside she walked with a purpose straight to her closet.

Up on the top shelf in a large shoe box was all her secrets. Bella knew everything and she wasn't about to open the flood gates just yet. She pulled out the only picture Aaron had of his birth family. Sure enough hidden behind Aaron's birth father was a boy she recognized from pictures she'd seen in a home she once knew all too well. A man she now knew as a wolf in the pack. Her late husband's true birth family.
