The following morning Bella woke with a start. She looked over at her alarm clock that read 5:59. Exactly one minute before her alarm would go off. It was time to wake the girls up to prepare for school. Bella stood up groggy with sleep as she made her way down the hall towards Ame's room.

"Good morning sweetie," Bella said quietly, kissing Amethyst on the cheek.

"Ten more minutes mom," Amethyst whined, her eyes squinting in the bright light of her bedroom.

"You'll miss breakfast if you don't get up," Bella smiled

Amethyst sat up in her bed, a tired scowl on her face. Bella couldn't help it, a small giggle escaped from her pressed lips. "Fine," Ame cried.

Making sure Ame got up out of bed first, Bella continued down the hall towards Crystals room. Bella got her outfit out before kissing her cheek successfully waking her youngest with a bright morning smile on her face.

"Eggs mommy?" Crystal asked, her smile growing at the thought of breakfast.

"Eggs," Bella replied, a light laugh escaping.

After helping Crystal dress for school, and rushing to dress herself, Bella made her way into the kitchen to find Sam was already cooking the eggs, and sausage by the smell of it.

"I was walking by," Sam beamed at her

Bella smiled back, thankful for his unexpected help. "Smells amazing," she grinned, making her way through the kitchen. She stood on tippy toes kissing Sam's cheek as he flipped more sausage patties.

Breakfast was quiet, as it usually was on school mornings. The girls were trying to eat quickly and stay awake at the same time. Sam offered to clean up to allow Bella time to get the girls to school. Obviously he wasn't going to go through her things, he wasn't that kind of Alpha. Of course Jacob Black, was that type of Beta. It had been eating at him and keeping him up most nights not knowing what she was really hiding. Sam offered to help because he cared about her, but he too was curious. Sam waived as Bella drove off, and Jake slipped through the back door.

"Be quick!" Sam urged.

"Just clean up poppa Sam," Jake smirked.

Jacob was glad his alpha had finally imprinted and was settling down. No more disturbing pack mind stories. As Jake looked through her dresser, he smelled something familiar. It was faint, as if it was old. There, in a sealed ziplock on the bottom of Bella's dresser drawer, under a neat stack of sweaters, was an old raggedy blue piece of cloth folded neatly to fit.

"Sam!" Jake whispered loudly.

"What," Sam replied quietly, popping his head around the corner through the doorway.

"What's this?" Jake asked.

"Yeah, because I know," Sam said, sarcasm thick in his tone.

"Oh, okay" Jake replied, rolling his eyes.

"Open it," Sam suggested.

Jacob was curious but this wasn't what he looking for. He wanted information he had an inkling was somewhere in that room.

"Um... no thanks," Jake carefully placed the bag back and headed to the closet.

Sam let out an exasperated sigh and grabbed the bag. He opened it and was assaulted with a familiar smell. He just couldn't quite place it. Frustrated he put everything back and headed into the closet.

Jake sat on the floor smiling. He handed a photo album to Sam. It was a picture of Bella. She was about four in the picture and she had her arms crossed a look of disappointment on her face, as well as what looked to be cake icing. She stood in a swimsuit and arm floaties, the beach warm and sunny behind her.

"She wanted to give cake to the fish," Jake chuckled nostalgically as he remembered that specific day.

Sam flipped through the album. The sound of a vehicle caused them, to put everything away exactly as it was as quickly as they could. Sam hurried back to the kitchen and Jake slipped back out the back door. Needing something to do to seem busy, Sam put on a fresh pot of coffee.

Bella walked in through the door just as the coffee began to brew into the pot. She inhaled appreciatively as she made her way to the kitchen.

"Please tell me that's what I think it is," Bella called rounding the corner to find the kitchen absolutely clean.

Sam stood smiling, trying his hardest to not seem suspicious. Bella walked over and hugged her wolf. "Have I told you how incredible you are, Mr. Uley," Bella whispered, pecking his lips before turning to get a couple of coffee mugs from the cupboard. Sam gathered the creamers and sugar, avoiding eye contact. Bella didn't notice the strange behavior as she made herself a cup of coffee.

"You might've mentioned it before," Sam replied wrapping Bella in his arms looking down ar her adoringly.

"Allow me to remind you," Bella quipped, reaching behind him to pinch his ass playfully.

Sam let out a playful growl, wrapping Bella in his warm embrace and nuzzling her neck. He was going to figure out exactly what she was hiding. He could feel it.

"All work no play today," Bella playfully whined.

"It's alright babe, I gotta swing by and pick up Embry and head over to Paul's place to repair the bathroom," Sam smirked looking down at her.

"What happened in the bathroom?" Bella asked curiously.

"Well Paul got a little too eccentric with Rachel and you know how a wolf gets," Sam grinned at the sight of the blush creeping up Bella's neck.

Bella knew exactly how her wolf could get. She didn't want to know how much more wild he would get once he marked her. Though the thought had her dampen her panties. She couldn't refrain from blushing at the mere thought of Sam breaking anything in the throws of passion with her. Of course better an inanimate object than her.

"I should get going. Gotta big first day at the café today. Dinner at your place tonight" Bella said not wanting to leave her wolf.

Sam suddenly had an idea. If he had Bella at his place, then Jacob could finish looking around.

"My place works," Sam replied kissing Bella.

"I'll see you later," Bella winked, sashaying to the door.

She flipped her hair in a sultry way before heading out to her car, leaving one alpha exceptionally horny. Sam adjusted himself before grabbing his phone and walking towards his cabin.

"I'm on my way. Have Embry and Jake meet me there instead," Sam said into his phone.

"Alright cool. Listen after we figure out what we need, I say we get everything done that we can before hitting the hardware store, " Paul replied.

"Sounds good. I'll be there in two," Sam said ending the call.

Sam quickly made his way to Paul's house. He hadn't been there since Paul and Rachel got married. It had belonged to Paul's late parents. Paul lost both of his parents the same day a long time ago. He grew up with his aunt, her husband had passed away long before Paul had lost his parents in a car crash she had said. No one questioned it. Not until Sam walked through the threshold and was assaulted with a very familiar scent. It was uncanny and though at first he couldn't place it. Until Jacob walked into the house and froze. A look of wonder on his face. Questions circling both wolves minds.

"Bella?" Sam and Jacob said in unison.

"What about Bella?" Embry asked walking in eating three donuts smashed together to create a massive donut.

"Where's Paul?" Sam asked.

"Kitchen, duh. Why?" Embry asked, his mouth full.

"I think know who Bella's husband really was," Sam replied, running toward the kitchen.

"Okay," Embry said shoving the remaining donuts in his mouth unapologetically.

"Dude," Jake deadpanned before heading into the kitchen himself.

"What?" Embry almost chocked.
