Another busy day for International Rescue is coming to an end. Alan had apologised to Kayo for being cold towards her and Kayo apologised for keeping another secret from Alan. They were now spending time in Alan's room. Kayo is lying down on the bed, while Alan sits on a bean bag in the centre of the room. The pair had only been back at Tracy Island for a few days due to the quarantining on Thunderbird 3.
"I'm so glad I don't have to spend my time constantly with Gordon anymore," Alan says, "I couldn't get a moments peace."
"You and me both," Kayo sighs, "All I wanted to do it talk to you and sort things out again."
Alan nods sadly knowing he is the cause for Kayo's pain. He realised that Kayo had tried to tell them beforehand before The Hood had created a distraction in order to get Tracy Island. What is even worse he thought, is that Grandma Tracy knew about the secret as well and he didn't hold a grudge against her. Kayo notices Alan and knew instantly what he is thinking.
"We've forgiven each other Al," Kayo smiles, "The past is in the past, we've gotta move on now."
"I know," Alan sighs, "I heard Scott and Marion are enjoying their little break on the mainland. I'm happy for him."
Kayo nods and looks around the room, not making direct eye contact with Alan. "I'm too busy for that anyway so I don't think about a relationship," she states, "It's hard to believe if Scott has any free time with both a relationship and the operations of IR on his shoulders."
"Oh..." Alan trails. His whole world seeming starts to crumble around him.
"Well..." Kayo says, interrupting Alan's train of thought, "I'm going downstairs to get a hot chocolate, do you want one?"
"Sure," Alan mumbles.
"I shouldn't be long," Kayo smiles awkwardly, "It's not like there's going to be another situation."
5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Thunderbirds are Go!
On her way downstairs, Kayo bumps into Virgil and they walk down the stairs together and enter the lounge. Sitting on one of the sofas is Gordon who throws a piece of trash towards the bin on the other side of the sitting area and misses.
"Are you going to pick this up?" Kayo asks, bending down and picking a piece of litter up.
"Busted," Virgil calls.
"Of course, I was. "You don't think a responsible member of International Rescue would leave trash lying around, do you?" Gordon asks defensively. He's only met with raised eyebrows from both Kayo and Virgil, "Sheesh! Who do you think I am?"
"A slob comes to mind," Kayo smirks and throws the litter over her shoulder without looking and it lands straight into the bin. Before Gordon has a chance to respond, a call comes in and John appears on the holo-screen.
"International Rescue, we have a situation," John says.
"Tell me what you've got, Thunderbird 5," Gordon says.
"A distress signal from Bay City. Looks like family is trapped in a rental sub near the ocean floor." John explains and pulls up a video, "I was able to contact the sub via their internal camera."
A guy appears with a shaky camera, "International Rescue? Uh, hi. Ethan Sullivan here," he stutters, "Er, we really would appreciate a little help—"
"Tell them about the monster!" a young girl, presumably his daughter interrupts.
"Lettie, Daddy's talking," Ethan whispers before turning back to the camera, "Hate to be a bother, but the rental agency won't send a tow sub. Something about off limits and waiver of liability and a bunch of other legal nonsense."
"But the monster!" Lettie wails, throwing her hands around.
"Lettie, there's no monster," Ethan says and Virgil and Kayo share a look of concern.
"Erm, it looks like a monster to me," Lettie fires back and grabs the camera, turning it around to reveal a machine with a familiar design.
"That's not a monster, it's The Mechanic," Kayo growls.
"And that building, why does it look so familiar?" Virgil asks.
"It's the Creighton-Ward Building," John answers.
"As in Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward?" Gordon asks, suddenly very interested, "Why would the Mechanic be interested in that?"
"Exactly what I wanna know," John says, "I'll contact Lady Penelope, you three get to the crash site."
"Wait. 'You three'? Underwater rescue is MY thing," Gordon says.
"But sneaking up on bad guys is HER thing," Virgil says and places a hand on Gordon's shoulder while Kayo smirks.
"You have a point," Gordon says.
"Finally, a chance to see you in action," Kayo says.
"Yeah, finally," Gordon squeaks, his voice going up a few octaves.
"Your not scared of me, are you Gordon?" Kayo asks as Gordon retreats to get to his elevator. She shakes her head and head down to the passenger bay for Thunderbird 2.

Thunderbirds are Go!
June 23rd, 2062 - 06:55 EDT
"Thunderbird 2 is in position," Virgil says, "Standby for launch Thunderbird 4."
"Systems check complete. Docking clamp released," Gordon says, "We are go for module deployment." Module 4 is then dropped into the water and Gordon waits for the hatch to open for him before pressing the button to go at a 45° angle.
"Thunderbird 4 is go!" Gordon says and launches Thunderbird 4 into the depths below.
"Thanks for the lift, Virgil," Kayo says.
"Heading for the downed sub," Gordon says.
"Wow," Kayo says as looks around Thunderbird 4 from behind him.
"Go ahead, just say it," Gordon says.
"Gordon Tracy, you are a secret slob," Kayo says.
"Oh, the wrappers?" What can I say? Scott's always at me about my room. This is my own personal domain," Gordon explains and reaches down to pick up a rapper with a half-eaten sweet, "And have you ever had one of these Celery Crunch bar? They're not bad!"
"I'll take your word for it," Kayo declines, "Wait until I tell Lady Penelope this next time, I see her."
"You wouldn't dare," Gordon gasps but Kayo only gives her signature smirk.
"We should be nearing the sub's coordinates," Kayo says.
"Confirmed - heavy debris down here, but... Wait, there they are," Gordon points out and diverts Thunderbird 4 over to a bit of rubble that is admitting a bit of light.
"The Mechanic looks preoccupied, but we'll have to be careful," Kayo says.
"Sullivan family this Gordon Tracy with International Rescue," Gordon says, "We're here to take you home. Hang tight. We'll have you out in two shakes." Gordon presses a few buttons and turns Thunderbird 4's arm controls on and extracts them in order to remove some of the debris. However, he underestimated how heavy the debris actually is and Thunderbird 4 stains under the pressure. "Maybe three shakes..." Gordon mutters, "Maybe five," yet he fails to lift any of the rubble. "It's too heavy."
"Now what?" Kayo asks.
"I'll need to go EVA. I'll cut the beam in two, then we can tow them to safety," Gordon says and turns to leave before looking back at Kayo, "Don't touch anything! Brains is still giving me flak from the last ship I broke. Gotta keep this one immaculate." With that, Gordon heads outside in his EVA suit.
"Mmm," Kayo smirks and looks around, "Not that any girl would want to touch any of your toys anyway."
"Hey, don't be a bitch to me," Gordon adds playfully over the coms.
"You'll have to be quick," Kayo says, getting serious, "The last thing we want is The Mechanic noticing we're here."
"FAB," Gordon replies. As he gets to work, Thunderbird 4's coms go off and a hologram of Penelope appears.
"This is FAB 1 calling Thunderbird 4," Penelope says, "We're in the vicinity. Do you require assistance?"
"Thanks for the offer," Kayo responds, "But I've got this. Just get those plans before The Mechanic does."
"FAB," Penelope replies and ends the link. As Gordon works one the first beam, the lighting near suddenly gets a lot brighter causing Kayo to shield her eyes. The Mechanic's ship is approaching them at a rapid pace.
"We've been spotted," Kayo states, and sees The Mechanic launch some of his Mechas at them, "He's launched Mechas. Ray-Mechas."
"Kayo, I'll need to talk you through the impeller start-up procedure," Gordon blurts out in a rush.
"No time," Kayo says and starts to press a serious of buttons that Gordon had done earlier and manages to get Thunderbird 4 to start, "I'll lure The Mechanic's little fishes away while you hide."
"But you don't even know how to operate... Thunderbird 4," Gordon trails in amazement as he sees Kayo fire off in Thunderbird 4 away from the area and away from the city, "Don't scratch it! And be careful! Oh, Brains is gonna kill me!" Kayo then performs a manoeuvre in order to dodge the rays and confuse them, before dipping out of view. "Whoa!" Gordon gasps, "I didn't even know it could do that!" He ducks out the way as The Mechanic's ship goes past him and after Kayo.
Kayo pushes Thunderbird 4 to its max as the rays behind her start to electrically charge up a little too close for comfort. She does a quick scan of the terrain in front of her and sees a little cave opening, "There we go," Kayo smiles and dives towards the cave. Thunderbird 4 barely fits inside but it does the trick as the Mechas go charging into the walls of the opening and exploding. Kayo faces Thunderbird 4 to look directly at the incoming ship of The Mechanic, "Never send a Mecha to do your dirty work," she mumbles and watches the arm of the submarine grab onto the metal supports of the opening and ripping them away. This results in the whole cave coming down on top of Kayo. "Whoa!" A couple of boulders hit the top of Thunderbird 4 before Kayo could react to dodge the rest of the falling debris. However, with no escape the whole cave eventually collapses on top of Thunderbird 4.
"Kayo!" Gordon calls and looks down with a sigh until a beep comes through his com.
"Don't worry," a familiar voice says, "Brains can get mad at you for something else."
"Kayo? Where are you?" Gordon asks.
"Look up," Kayo says with a playful tone in her voice. Looking up, Gordon sees Thunderbird 4 on the bottom of The Mechanic's ship.
"Unbelievable!" Gordon says in awe.
"FAB 1, this is Thunderbird 4," Kayo calls, "The Mechanic is back on the hunt - be on your guard."
"Will do," replies Penelope, "Be careful out there."
"Always," Kayo replies and detaches Thunderbird 4 from The Mechanic's ship and heads back over to where Gordon is by the Sullivan Family's submarine, "You'll have to cut the I-beam from the other side. The sub will block you from The Mechanic's view, but I'll keep tabs on his movements just in case."
"Don't ever scare me like that again," Gordon says, "What will I tell Alan if something happens to you."
Kayo blushes, "I'm sure he'll just be as worried as anyone else on Tracy Island. Though I'll come up with some other way if it makes you happy." She then picks up an unopened Celery Crunch bar and takes a bite out of it, "Mmm! You're right, not bad," and put her feet up on the dashboard.
June 23rd, 2062 - 07:16 EDT
Gordon continues to work on the I-beam cutting his way through when he hears the talking from inside the submarine get slightly louder causing him to turn and see a crack in one of the windows.
"Oh shit!" Gordon mumbles.
"Yep," Ethan says, who clearly heard what he had said, "That's the word I was looking for. Good job, Mr Tracy."
"This make take a little longer then," Gordon says, "I don't want to disturb the sub too much now."
"Just take as long as you need Mr Tracy," Ethan says and Gordon gets back to work.
"Come on, come on," Gordon says but pauses when he hears a rumbling sound from the distance, "Huh? Kayo, did you hear that?"
"Lady Penelope, is everything okay?" Kayo asks.
"Quite all right, thank you," Penelope says after a pause. There's then an explosion from inside the mansion and the rubbles starts to fall as the building crumbles further.
"Gordon, look out!" Kayo yells and moves Thunderbird 4 out of the way. Gordon looks up and starts to dodge the chunks of building that float to the bottom of the seabed. As the rubble crashes to the ground, it dislodges the Sullivan Family's submarine which goes flying towards Gordon almost pinning him between it and a brick wall behind him. Luckily, Kayo had reached out with one of Thunderbird 4's arms and grabbed the submarine for it could paralyze Gordon.
"Phew! Good thinking Kayo," Gordon compliments.
"It won't hold forever - you have to hurry," Kayo points out.
"Hurrying," Gordon replies but his progress on the I-beam is still too slow.
"Gordon, there's no more time," Kayo states, "We have to do this now!"
"I agree. Take Thunderbird 4 and ram the rental sub. Make sure you get a good seal," Gordon orders, "Sullivan family, brace yourselves, we're coming in fast and then we're gonna get you out of there."
Kayo positions Thunderbird 4 to ram the rental sub but holds off, "You're too close!"
"Don't worry about me," Gordon responds, "Just do it!"
Kayo sighs and fires up Thunderbird 4's engines and rams the sub at the same times that Gordon is finally able to cut through the I-beam and roll out of the way. Kayo then deploys emergency docking tube and pressurizes it before opening both airlocks. "This way."
"Oh! Thank you!" Ethan says and hands Lettie over to Kayo, "Up you go, Lettie."
"Oh! Thank you," Emily says as Kayo gives her a hand into Thunderbird 4, "Thank you so much!"
"Can I look you?" Gordon grunts and open his eyes to see the rear of Thunderbird 4 with the Sullivan family all waving in the back.
"Thank you!" Lettie calls.
"Phew!" Gordon says with a sigh.

"International Rescue, this is FAB 1," Penelope calls once Gordon had fully docked back inside Module 4, "Do you copy?"
Gordon looks over his shoulder to see Kayo entertaining the Sullivan daughters and walks away from the group to answer the call, "We hear you FAB 1. Were you able to retrieve the prison designs?"
"H'i don't think we'll 'ave to worry about those. H'i finally remembered why the TX-204 was a particularly tough safe to crack. You see, it had a failsafe that, one h'activated, would destroy the contents once h'opened," Parker explains, "It h'also has a self-destruct h'option that eliminates the person trying to h'open it." He pauses for a second before saying, "Looks like 'hat did the trick."
"For now," Gordon points out, "But this won't be the last time The Mechanic tries to get The Hood out of prison. The GDF needs to be on their guard."
"Where The Mechanic and The Hood are concerned, everyone needs to be on their guard," Penelope confirms.
June 23rd, 2062 - 07:36 EDT
"They're still pretty shaken up," Kayo says to the two brothers, indicating to the two young girls.
"Well, it'll be a holiday they'll never forget," Gordon jokes but gets a glare from Kayo and backs down.
"Maybe we should have some time to make this dad a hero?" Kayo asks Virgil, "That's something that kept me going as a child, having a good father figure in my life that I saw as a hero."
"I think we can manage," Virgil confirms and Kayo turns around to the family.
"You know, earlier your dad was reminding me that Thunderbird 2 can go any place in the world, in less time than it takes to say Thunderbirds are Go!" Kayo says.
"Yeah... Did I?" Ethan asks.
"Anything you girls wanna see?" Kayo asks with a warming smile.
"Penguins!" both daughter's yell.
"Oh, can we, Dad?" Lettie asks, "Please!"
"Why not?" Ethan replies.
"Hear that, Virgil? Antarctica, if you please," Kayo says.
"Course laid in," Virgil says.
"Thank you," Ethan whispers to Kayo who just smiles in return and looks over to Gordon who is smirking away.
"This is the best holiday ever, Dad," Lettie says.
"See? I knew what I was doing," Ethan smiles at Emily, "Hey, interesting fact about penguins - they don't swim, they fly underwater. Some of them are as tall as you, Lettie. I can't wait to show you!"
Kayo glances at the family longingly before getting up with a fake cough, "Excuse me for a second." She gets up and walks back into the module where Thunderbird 4 sits. Heading over to one of the railings, she grabs a hold of it and lets out a long sigh.
"I've never seen that side of you," a voice says causing Kayo to jump and get into a fighting position only to see that it's Gordon.
"Fucking hell Gordon," Kayo breathes, "You scared the shit out of me."
"Sorry," Gordon apologies, "It's just... I thought you should know that you'll make a great mother someday."
Kayo's eyes widen considerably and looks away, "No."
"What's wrong?" Gordon asks.
"I've done things Gordon," Kayo sighs, "Things that no one should do. But I did them. How could I become a mother with that in the back of my mind?"
Gordon walks over to Kayo and stands next to her, "You've thought about having a family of your own though," he comments and the silence from Kayo only confirms his answer, "And I think we both know who the father would be."
Kayo pauses, "That will never happen. We've been friends too long; I can't lose the most important thing I have left. I just can't."
"Sometimes," Gordon starts, "You have to jump into the water to work out how deep it is for yourself."
With that Gordon walks back to the cockpit, leaving Kayo to contemplate what she has been told.
