A/N- I just can't do it. I don't have the heart to have a Dead Fred Weasley in this story. Just can't. so here we go. On to the next one!

When Hermione and Rolanda finally left the school it was hand in hand. They walked slowly together down to the gate, which opened for them without prompting. Rolanda held her hand out to the younger woman, a silent request to trust her. Without hesitation Hermione placed her hand in the older woman's. She trusted this woman implicitly, there was no need to think about whether or not she would take her hand.

Hermione closed her eyes at the familiar tug of a port key being activated. When she opened them again, she took in one of the most beautiful sights she had ever seen. The sun was setting against the golden sand beneath them. Hermione looked down from where they had landed and realized exactly where they were. Ro had brought them to the top of the Sphinx where she had a beautiful picnic dinner laid out for them. She grinned up at the older woman, and pulled her in for a searing kiss.

"I take it you must have put up concealment charms and silencing spells to keep us away from the prying eyes of the muggles?" she whispered when she pulled away.

"Of course. I got here much earlier, before the graduation ceremony, to set all of this up. I want it to be perfect." Ro muttered quietly, looking down at the head of the Sphinx beneath her feet, a light blush covering her cheeks.

Hermione giggled slightly and touched Ro's cheek. "It doesn't matter whether we are enjoying a romantic dinner, or sweating and working out and practicing derby techniques, wherever you are is perfect." she placed a gentle kiss on the older woman's lips, then pulled away and whispered, "Now let's enjoy whatever it is that you put in that picnic basket, and then perhaps I can convince you to help me move into my room at The Hog's Head tomorrow?"

Ro smiled at her and lead her over to the blanket she had left there earlier, equipped with sticking charms in case of a sudden wind.

Conversation between the two flowed easily. They talked about everything that came to mind, from the history of the monument the were currently sitting atop of to Hermione's plans now that she was through Hogwarts. Ro knew she wanted be a teacher and wondered why she hadn't tried for an apprenticeship at the school just like Neville and Ginny did. She voiced this question to the young woman seated with her as they sipped coffee from the thermos that the older woman had packed.

"I thought about it, seriously thought about it. But I don't want Minerva to have a biased opinion on other applicants. If I had put in an application there it would have put her in a place of bias based on the relationship I already had with her. I want her to be able to look other applicants without that in the way. I will put in an application with her once I finish my Masteries. If she finds someone more suitable for the position while I am at University then there are always other things I can do. I'm thinking about maybe trying to be trained as a healer as well." Hermione had clearly given this some thought, and her response was well thought out.

Rolanda couldn't argue with that logic. She knew that if Hermione had wanted to become Minerva's apprentice that the older woman wouldn't have even looked at the other applications coming in. Minerva would have done whatever it took to keep Hermione close.

"So," Hermione said, "we have finished eating, and there is barely any coffee left, what have you got planned for us to do tonight?"

"Well, cant quite leave yet." the sun had completely sunk beneath the horizon, and she knew that the final part of her surprise should be starting any moment. "There is one more part to tonight, before I take you to the next bit."

They were both facing the pyramids, staring out at the night sky. The first BOOM startled Hermione so badly that she reached for her wand, before Ro put and hand on her arm and pulled her close. She dragged Hermione between her legs with her back flush against her chest, and wrapped both arms around her shoulders. They sat, watching the private fireworks show. Brilliant colors and shapes filled the sky as Hermione nestled back against the older witch's chest. She gave a contented sigh and smiled.

"How did you manage this? It's amazing."

"I talked to Fred and George. They worked this out for me. I'm not sure how they managed it." she pressed a kiss to the curly hair of the other witch. Long minutes passed in silence as they watched the amazing display that the twins had managed to put together for them. Hermione was starting to dose off in the circle of Ro's arms when the older of the two gently nudged her awake and whispered, "Watch."

The finale was spectacular. Roses and hearts filled the sky. The last six that went up were the four house crests, and the school crest. The last one, filled the sky with gorgeous red and gold glittering letters that lit the ground like sunshine. The words read, 'Congratulations Hermione'. Said witch smiled happily and snuggled back into Rolanda's chest once more. Ro waved her wand and packed up the remains of their picnic, then took firm hold of Hermione and apparated them to their next destination, a hotel room.

Ro knew that her young love wasn't nearly ready for any sort of sexual contact, and she wasn't about to push the issue. Carefully laying the young woman down on the bed, she slipped off her boots and crawled up next to her. She cast silencing charms on the room, then wrapped Hermione tight into her arms and held her, not daring to let go. She knew what was coming tonight, and by Merlin, she was going to be here for her when it did.

A/N - So what do you think? Good? I wanted to give Hermione a very special first date with Ro, and quite honestly, they are watching the freaking sunset, ON TOP of the sphinx. How much better can that get?
