Lou Lou's POV

I had been enjoying my little sun nap when I heard a small voice from the other side of the fountain. A little girl had been talking to Belle before sitting next to her listen to her read. Belle then offered to teach the little girl how to read. The little girl happily nodded her head.

I smiled as I turned to my tail summoning a small illustrated children's book from my fur. A trick my father had taught me when I was old enough to shape shift. Making sure no one was looking as I pulled the book out, I pawed at Belles feet setting the book in her lap.

Where did this come from?

Trick from my father. Thought this would be better starter than a Shakespeare play.

Thank you.

It wasn't long before the little girl was reading herself with Belles help. My fur was dry by this time so I checked on the laundry. Our donkey friend still doing laps around the water.

"You doing okay," I asked walking beside him. He nodded to me seeming to be enjoying the effortless work, "Okay well the clothes are almost done. A few more laps then you can stop. Thank you again for helping us. Belle will be sure to give you another apple for your help."

"No problem misses this is the easiest work I've done all day next to pulling an empty cart."

I nodded back to him going back to my spot in front of Belle laying back down in the sun. I had just gotten comfortable when I heard a shout from the other side of the fountain. Jumping to my feet I see the school's headmaster glaring between Belle and the donkey doing the last laps of the laundry, as the man spoke my cackles began to rise. I can already see others of the town starting to be drawn by the headmaster's shouts. I keep myself between them and Belle and the little girl baring my fangs at a woman who called me a 'mutt' before two men picked up Belles invention dumping the freshly washed cloths onto the dirt street.

Let me bite one of them Belle

No don't. we don't want this to escalate.

Fine but anyone so much as touches you I'm tearing heads off.

I jumped at the sound of the gun fire standing closer to Belle as Gaston quieted the crowd down shooing them away. Even with things calming down my cackles didn't rest and I kept growling at anyone who even looked at us. Belle and I started walking back home caring the wet muddy clothes. Gaston of course was fallowing behind us.

We've got a friend who can help with the laundry

I know. I just wish this town wasn't so close minded

Heads up knuckle brain is still fallowing us. I'll give him three sentences before I start biting.

Easy Lou I'll let you know when you can start biting.

Roger fangs at the ready

I kept myself between him and Belle a low growl in my throat cackles still on end as we walked back home. I didn't really pay attention to what he was saying as I was focusing on keeping him at a certain distance, but from what little I had been listening to I heard from his limp tongue was something about change and spinsters. Then something about a hunting lodge; I only snapped back to attention when I heard him say 'marry me'.

By this time, we had arrived back at our house. I kept myself in front of Gaston as Belle stepped onto the patio. I growled at Gaston when he tried to fallow her snapping my jaw at him in warning. Gaston stepped back in fear nearly stumbling.

Take another step pretty boy and you won't be so pretty

"I'm sorry Gaston I will never marry you," Belle said in a stern voice. I snapped again at him as he made a move to continue towards the house, growling louder as I did making him stubble back into a mud puddle behind him.

"Lou Lou heel," Belle called from inside the door way.

I gave one final warning growl at Gaston. My cackles still raised as I turned away from him climbing the stairs sitting down on the porch. Watching Gaston as he stomped back into town.

He's gone now Belle

Belle stepped out of the house sitting next to me scratching the back of my head, "Thank you Lou Lou."

"No problem sister."

"Can you believe it. He asked me to marry him."

"I heard. I barfed a little."

I kissed her cheek before stepping of the patio, "I'll call my pack to escort us to the lake. Do we still have any jam left?"

"I believe we just have enough to get the laundry done," Belle sighed standing up.

"I'll get some honey from the den," I said before running into the woods howling to my pack as I reached my den. I howled once more before going into the den to get a honey comb we had stored here the last week of the Summer. The comb was wrapped in a cloth in a small cubby I had dug into the wall for storage. I picked up the cloth wrapped comb in my mouth then wiggled my way out of the den. When I had left the den my pack stood around the entrance staring at me.

"Why have you called us grandpup," my grandfather asked pressing his head to mine.

I set the comb on the ground before answering him, "Belle and I wish for two of our pack to travel with us to the lake so we can finish the laundry we had started before the villagers had dumped it into the street."

"Why did they do that," one of my cousins asked.

"Belle had made a device that would make doing the laundry faster they didn't like that so they dumped the cloths onto the street and took the device. I believe it will be safer to do the rest of the washing at the lake we already have offerings for the spirits of the lake."

I pushed the comb with my muzzle closer to my grandfather. He sniffed it for a moment, nodded to me, then spoke to me before picking it up, "I will go with you and Belle. I believe you and me shall be efficient enough. It has been some time since I had a nice soak in the lake. Would do my old bones well."

I bowed my head in thanks before the two of us ran back to the edge of the forest behind our home. Belle stood at the edge of the forest for us with the basket of clothes in her hands with half a jar of jam on top.

"Grandfather will take us to the lake," I told her before standing at her side.

"Thank you grandfather," Belle said nodding her head to him, "I'm sorry that we had to trouble you for this."

"No trouble at all," Grandfather said after he dropped the honey comb into the basket, "I'm always happy to help my grandpups. Now lets get down to the lake so you can finish the washing in peace."
