I wasn't at home for long when I got a call from Elena. She said that she didn't want to explain what happened over the phone. When I got to the house, I couldn't help but notice that an ambulance was there and I couldn't help but be a little worried. I rushed inside of the house and found Elena in the kitchen. I was slightly relieved, but still worried that something could have happened to either Jenna or Jeremy. If John had been injured, well I would be happy, especially if he just had a stroke or something and not something vampire-related.
"What happened?" I questioned.
"One of the tomb vampires came by and attacked John." She explained. That didn't make any sense. How would a tomb vampire be able to enter the house. "They cut off his fingers."
"Have you had a chance to talk to Jeremy yet?" I asked.
"No, everything's been so crazy, I haven't." She explained. "Should I do that now?"
"Miss Gilbert?" A deputy interrupted.
"You need to be at the hospital. I'll stay with Jeremy." I declared.
I went upstairs to Jeremy's room and found it was empty. I started to look around before hearing noise from Elena's room.
"Jeremy?" I asked. I saw her facing the window. I then saw her face didn't look right. There was eyeliner smeared on it. "That is not how you put on eyeliner."
"I don't even know what I'm doing now." She said.
"Well you've never had anyone teach you. Let me fix it for you." I replied as I got some water and washed her face before beginning to apply it. "First, close your eyes. So, have you thought about a new name for yourself yet?"
"No, what do you think it should be?" She retorted.
"It shouldn't be my decision." I told her. "This name should be your decision and yours alone. You might be able to ask your aunt what your parents would have named you if you were born a girl, but your name should be your choice and yours alone."
I really hoped that Jenna would be okay with it. I mean I could probably compel her to be okay with it, but it wouldn't be the same as actual acceptance. She didn't seem like the type to not accept people for who they were, especially since Elena had told her that we were dating.
Almost immediately after I had finished, I heard the door open and rushed downstairs. I saw it was Elena. Though, something seemed different. I didn't think that she was wearing a jacket.
"Hey." I greeted her. "How's Caroline?"
"Not good." She declared before she gave me a hug. Something was definitely off about her. She smelled different too. She then whispered. "Just what I needed."
That was when it hit me. She went in for a kiss, but instead I threw her onto the couch. I couldn't believe that bitch had the nerve to come here.
"Katherine." I remarked.
"At least I fooled someone." She stated. I then charged at her and held her against the wall by the neck. She wasn't getting out of here. "Feel better?"
I then prepared to go in for the kill. However, before I could, the door opened, causing me to lose focus, and Katherine took advantage of that by breaking my arm, throwing me to the ground and running out the back door. Damn it. I almost had her. I looked and saw Stefan, Damon and Elena.
"What happened?" Elena asked.
"Katherine happened." Damon declared. Stefan and Elena both looked shocked.
A few minutes later, we were talking about it while Elena went upstairs.
"Did she say what she wanted?" Damon asked.
"No." I replied.
"The woman sure knows how to make an entrance." He commented.
"She said that she fooled someone. What did she mean?" I asked.
"She kissed me." Damon answered. Before I could get onto him for that, Elena came back downstairs.
"Anna, why is my brother wearing makeup?" She questioned.
"Because Jeremy isn't your brother." I stated. Well that was already true, but not in the way that I meant it. "I said that you needed to talk. Jeremy is your sister."
"How do you know about this?" Stefan asked.
"Because she told me when I talked to her earlier today." I explained. "This is something that you need to talk to her and Jenna about. So are you okay?"
"No, I'm not okay." She answered. "Katherine was in this house. That means that she's been invited in. What are we going to do?"
"Move." Damon suggested.
"Thanks for the input." Elena quipped.
"If Katherine wanted you dead, you would be dead, but obviously you are not dead, so she has other plans." Damon pointed out.
"Right and we need to find out what those other plans are and not provoke her in the process." Stefan declared. Couldn't we just kill her without finding out what her plans were? "You said that she kissed you earlier."
Why did have bring that up again? I felt my anger rising.
"Anna, he kissed Katherine." Elena stated. "I love you. I would never do that. We don't have time for this. Maybe John knows something. There has to be a reason why Katherine tried to kill him."
"She's Katherine. She loves to play games and you're stupid if you can think you can find out what she's planning before she wants you to." Damon interjected.
"No, Elena's right. John could know something through Isobel." Stefan stated. "Your mother knew Katherine, so maybe you could talk to him at the hospital."
"How about we just ignore her and she'll come out." Damon suggested. "And then we can kill her."
"Hey, I'll stay over here tonight." I declared. "That way we'll be covered if she comes back."
Of course, Jenna didn't want me to sleep in Elena's room That was the downside to telling her that I was in a relationship with Elena. We also had the chance to discuss everything involving Jeremy. It was an interesting discussion. I would have to give her a makeover sometime when things calmed down, even though it seemed like things were never calm around Mystic Falls anymore.
So one thing that no one remembered to tell me was that Damon had given Caroline some blood and she was better. It was good news. Elena and I went to the hospital to see John. I could easily finish him off there, but I knew that Elena wouldn't like that. Plus, Katherine also wanted him dead and I didn't want to have anything in common with that little bitch.
"Are you ready for this?" I asked. She didn't answer and just walked into the room
"John?" She asked. He immediately woke up and reached for the call button but I stopped him and took it out of his hand. "I'm Elena, not Katherine."
"We know she did this to you. We need to know why." I remarked.
"Where is she?" He questioned,
"We need you to tell us." Elena declared.
"I don't know." He answered. He seemed like he wasn't lying about it. He still looked nervous. He tried to sit up, but I sat him back down.
"You've lost a lot of blood. Stop trying to play tough guy." I told him. "Now just tell us what you know."
"Please." Elena added as she put his ring in his hand. I wouldn't have done that. "Tell us why she's here and what she wants."
"I wouldn't be surprised if she tries again." I stated, I had no idea if she would but it sounded good. "We can't help you unless you tell us."
"In you?" He asked with a glare. He hadn't earned that.
"If not me, tell your daughter." I declared.
"My daughter should have driven a stake into your heart a long time ago." He said. "Last night was the first time that I ever spoke to Katherine directly. Now if you're not going to kill me, get out."
"You're so full of hatred." Elena said as she left the room.
I then went over and grabbed his neck.
"This would be the part where I say 'My name is Annabelle Mikaelson, you killed my mother. Prepare to die.' but let's do one better." I declared before I bit into my wrist and fed my blood into his mouth. "You have 12 hours to get out of town, or I will turn you and then you'll be forced to hate yourself more than you already do. Clock starts now."
I then went outside. I knew that we would have to change to go to the Lockwoods' soon.
"What took so long?" She asked.
"I was having a nice chat with your father." I declared.
"Really?" She inquired.
"Okay, so I threatened him." I relented. "I'm sorry."
"You don't need to be, I want him gone. I don't want someone like him in my life or Jeremy's life. He's a bad influence." She said. I didn't know how he would feel about Jeremy, but he seemed like the type to not be okay with it.
"Well now we have to go somewhere it's okay for me to wear black." I stated.
I borrowed a dress from Elena because known of my clothes were really suitable for a wake. It was black lace with half sleeves and a black sash around the waist.
"Do we really have to come here?" Jeremy asked. I couldn't help but wonder if she was jealous again. Hopefully she would dresses of her own soon.
"The Lockwoods were here for us when we were going through this." Jenna pointed out. "We don't have to stay for long. We just need to pay our respects and leave."
The two of us walked off and I heard a voice. I ran off just as a pair of doors opened.
"Katherine." I remarked. She was holding Bonnie by the neck.
"Anna." She greeted me. "It's good to see you."
"Leave her alone." I ordered. I followed after her. She grabbed a glass of champagne off of a tray. "Why are you here?"
"After you were so mean to me, I figured our next rendezvous should be in public." She declared as she took a drink.
"You know Elena is here right now, don't you?" I asked.
"It's more fun that way." She remarked. "Stefan and Damon are here. I'm avoiding Damon."
"Maybe you shouldn't have kissed him." I argued.
"Hey guys." Matt interrupted.
"Hi, Matt. I hear that Caroline is doing better." She replied. "Her recovery was practically magical."
"It was. Thanks Elena." He replied.
"Damn his eyes are blue." She gushed. "Do you still like boys. I haven't been keeping track."
"Get out, Katherine." I ordered.
"You're so cute when you try to be threatening." She told me before she had some snacks.
"I'm not doing this with you, Katherine." I stated.
"Let's not have a couples' fight in her." She suggested. "Come with me."
"Or you could just tell me why you're here." I countered.
"Maybe I missed you." She said. "It's been what, 100 years?"
"What game are you playing?" I asked.
"Why do you wanna play with me?" She asked with a grin.
"I don't know the rules." I remarked. She was beginning to get on my nerves.
"Who said there were rules?" She retorted.
I then followed her outside.
"The Lockwoods have so much more land than they used to." She commented. "They stole a lot from us."
"Why did you want to kill them? You turned the majority of them." I said. "On top of that, why kill my mother?"
"Your mother was collateral damage. The rest of them would have been mad at me." She replied. "Besides, it helps John fulfill his worthless life's goal of killing vampires."
"You really haven't changed at all, have you?" I asked her as she came to a stop.
"But you have. You're finally dressing sexy. I love your new look." She remarked. I blushed a little.
"Don't flirt with me, Katherine." I ordered. "Just because we used to fuck doesn't mean I ever loved you."
"You know I'd argue otherwise based on your choice of women." She stated. "But it does bother me that you've fallen for someone else."
"Like I said, I never loved you." I repeated.
"You can believe that if you want." She declared. "I know you love me and so do you."
"You are a conniving bitch and I hate you." I told her because apparently I wasn't getting through to her.
She then grabbed a pole out of the ground and stabbed me right through the breast.
"You hate me? Haven't you ever seen a movie? That's the beginning of a love story, not the end." She declared.
I covered up as I fell to the ground. Later, I was found by Elena. I don't know why she had to ruin to my dress. Okay, it could be sewn but I didn't want to do that.
"Are you going to be okay?" She asked as she began to clean me up. It was a little embarrassing.
"Yeah, It's already healed. I just need to borrow your jacket." I said.
"That's not what I meant." She pointed out.
"I was trying to get inside of her head, but I guess she got into mine a little." I explained.
"Whoa, what's going on here?" Jeremy asked. I blushed and covered up. "Do I want to know?"
"I had an altercation with Katherine." I explained. "Hey how about we go home and I can give you that makeover now?"
Part of the other reason for wanting John out was it opened up the door for me to move in with the Gilberts. I took Jeremy home and got to work. I had bought clothes, makeup, hair extensions and more.
"So this part is going to hurt." I stated. "I'm basically going to be pulling all of the hair out of your body and it'll be a bit faster than usual."
"So, I thought about a name." She stated. "My grandma's name was Margaret, but she went by Mary."
"I've always liked that name." I told her. The next few minutes were filming with screaming. I eventually put a towel in her mouth. "How does it feel?"
"Smooth and painful." She declared.
"Well now it's time for the rest." I replied. I put in the extensions, did the makeup and gave her the clothes to wear: a black hoodie, jean shorts and knee socks.
"Wow, I look like a girl." She declared. "I feel like I should put this on Facebook."
At that point, I heard Damon talking to Elena and went to check it out.
"Damon, I love Anna." She said.
Apparently, Mary had decided to do the same thing. However, before I even had time to react, Damon rushed over and snapped her neck. Elena and I both gasped. It was then that I saw John's ring on her finger.
"Elena, look at her finger." I replied.
It was about an hour before woke up. Elena cried in relief.
"Did Damon kill me?" She asked.
"Well this isn't how I wanted to this to go, but Elena, this is your sister, Mary." I replied.
