Magic. It was all that I could think about lately. Part of the reason was because Mary kept bringing it up. I knew that I made a promise that I would do a sex-changing spell on her but I didn't know how I was going to accomplish such a thing. Not to mention last time I did it, it did not go well. I mean the spell itself worked, but the person in question didn't exactly want their sex changed and literally stabbed themself in front of me, so I vowed never to do it again and burned the page it was on. Then there was the person who was okay with becoming a girl to date me, but then broke it off when she found out that I was a vampire. I also didn't want to fall in love again, but that didn't work out either.

Anyway, today I was going to be working on building a park. You might ask your how does one build a park which kind of already exists. The answer to that is playground equipment, pavilions and bridges. While a park can exist on its own, but it needs things for people to do in order to get people to go to it, except for maybe the nature lovers.

"So what exactly is going on with you and Elena?" Mary asked me as she poured some Cornflakes.

"Well we basically can't do things in public together." I remarked. "Katherine has Caroline spying on us, so I came up with the plan to make her think that the two of us are not getting along."

"Do you think that will work?" She questioned.

"I hope so." I declared. To be honest, I was a little bit surprised that she hadn't come to see me instead of Stefan. I knew that she and Stefan had dated, but wasn't I was the self-proclaimed love of her life? Of course there was the thing that the boarding house was bigger and had a lot less people in it. To mention, the only person that really couldn't tell the difference between Elena and Katherine was Jenna because she did know about that Elena had a doppelganger. "So were you going to come to the park with us today?"

"I really don't want to do that." She admitted. "Maybe I can talk to Tyler to see how he becomes a werewolf."

"Mary, please don't take this the wrong way, but Tyler hated you before and I don't think that he would really be accepting over the fact that you're transgender." I stated. "I don't want you to get hurt."

"You could…" She started.

"No, I can't turn you into a girl." I pointed out. "Plus I would need to make it so people would always think you had been a girl, which I have never been able to do."

It was kind of necessary in a small town where everyone knew each other.

"I was going to say come with me." She replied. Oh. That was definitely not what I was expecting.

"I've already made my commitment to the park building." I declared. Yes, I could back out of it, but I hated breaking promises. "Just come with me. I need someone to talk to since Caroline is going to be there and you're much more pleasant to be around than Damon."

"I guess I can come." She relented.

Since I was going to doing manual labor mostly outside, I knew that my normal clothes would not cut it. So I went with a grey tank and black jeans with a leather jacket.

"Wow you look so…normal." Mary commented.

"You should have met me in the 60s." I remarked. 60s Anna was like a completely different person than I was now. I was obsessed with 60s beach movies. I even starred in one. Granted, it did not do well because having an actual Asian lead at the time was unheard of. Pretty much all minority leads, except for black ones, were played by white people, the fact that I was half white notwithstanding. I was pretty sure it wasn't even on DVD. If I could find a copy of it, I could show it to Elena and Mary sometime.

From there, we headed to the park. The first thing that I noticed was that there was suddenly animosity between Damon and Mason. I thought that the two of them hit it off pretty well at the barbecue the other day. Stefan tried to fix it. Oh Damon had stabbed Mason with the knife. He was pretty but he was sort of lacking in the intelligence department. That was one of the advantages of being in an eternally teenaged body. You could go to schools and actually learn things. Or maybe I just got my intellect from my parents. I hadn't spent a lot of time with my father but I did know that he was known for his well thought out plans, kind of the exact opposite of Damon.

"What are you doing?" I heard Damon say.

"Negotiating peace on your behalf." Stefan replied.

"I don't want peace." Damon argued.

"Well consider it opposite day." Stefan stated.

"You can't honestly believe that Mason is going to accept your deal, can you?" Damon asked.

"No, I think as soon as he gets the chance, Mason is going to try to drive a stake through your heart and mine, so thank you for that." Stefan declared before he walked away. As far as I knew, there was no animosity between Mason and I, so I would let them handle that for now.

I looked over at Elena and noticed that she was looking at me. I just wished that I could talk to her right now. I wanted to hold her and kiss her, but I couldn't. It was painful. We were so close, but so far away at the moment.

"Uh oh, longing looks are being exchanged." Caroline said to Elena. I walked over to them. It was time for some more acting.

"Hey, Elena, Caroline." I replied without much interest.

"Are you still mad at me?" Elena asked.

"I'm not even mad anymore. I'm just fucking exhausted." I commented. "It's so crazy right that I just want it to be over with."

With that I decided to head out into the woods. I was making a dramatic exit. I was pretty sure that I was good at those.

However, what I did not expect to be suddenly pushed against a tree once I was away from everyone. I knew exactly who had done it.

"Katherine." I remarked.

"So I hear that you have some girlfriend troubles." She declared. "I guess that would be my fault. I have an idea for how we can deal with that. How about I take off those silly clothes you're wearing and I can really make you scream."

"How about I rip your head off instead?" I challenged.

"Oh you're still hating me." She replied. "I guess we're not in the second act yet."

"Why are you talking like that?" I asked.

"I know you love movies." She told me. "I've seen every one that you've been in."

That surprised me. What also surprised me was the kiss she gave me before she suddenly disappeared.

I then made my way back to everyone else before I ran straight into another girl. She had black hair and bushy eyebrows but a darker skin tone than me.

"I'm sorry," I replied. "I wasn't watching where I was going."

"It's not a problem there's a very low chance of injury from simply running into someone." She told me. I just stared at her. "Sorry, some people say that I try too hard to act like a doctor sometimes. I'm Meredith Fell."

You know I really hadn't interacted with any Fells since coming back, other than that time that I compelled Blair to drop out of Miss Mystic Falls, but that really wasn't much of a conversation. I mean the Fells were just as important as the other Founding Families. They had even spent the money to develop the park that we were working on. It was that moment that I realized that I should say something.

"Sorry, I'm Anna." I responded.

"I know. You were in the Miss Mystic Falls pageant." She remarked. "It's not very often that someone who isn't from the Founding Families gets in."

"Well I just talked to the right people. So are you here by yourself?" I asked.

"Yeah, despite the fact that my family paid for this place, not of them actually wanted to come and help work on it." She explained. That sounded like some of the rich people that I had known. They were not always the nice people either. "Can I hang out with you today?"

I supposed that it wouldn't hurt to make some new friends, since my only real friend was Mary. I took her back over to the see Mary.

"Mary, this is Meredith." I introduced.

"We are actually in a lot of the same classes." Meredith remarked. "I know that you don't have a lot of supporters in the school, but consider me one of them."

The thing was Mary did have support from the teachers of the school…I had compelled their support (except for Alaric) but it still counted. At that moment, I noticed Damon spitting out some lemonade. It could have just been too sweet, but I heard him mention vervain. Note to self, don't drink the lemonade. It still wasn't my problem though.

That was until I noticed Sheriff Forbes looking kind of shady all of a sudden. Something wasn't right there. I noticed that Mary and Meredith were hitting it off, I slowly snuck away from them.

I found out that Caroline and Elena had done the same thing. There weren't my plan to avoid her for the rest of the day. However, before I could even say anything to the brunette, I heard some sudden, loud noises.

"What was that?" Caroline asked.

"I didn't hear anything." Elena replied. I mean obviously she didn't have the advanced hearing that we did.

"It sounded like gunshots. I think Stefan and Damon are in trouble." I explained. While I didn't want to get involved in whatever was going on with them and Mason, I knew that Elena would actually break up with me if I let the them die. Plus even if we really were fighting, it would have still been possible to put aside our differences long enough to rescue the two of them. "It's this way. Let's go."

We started to head through the woods. I had definitely come a long way from the girl who only cared about getting her mom back. As we were walking, I couldn't help but notice the same tree that Katherine had assaulted me against. Whether or not a kiss is considered assault was not relevant to the fact that she held me against my will.

"What are you three doing out here?" Mason asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. He definitely had a sinister look to him. I was fairly certain that he knew that I was a vampire because werewolves had a tendency to be able to smell vampires.

"Have you seen Stefan and Damon?" Elena asked. She seemed oblivious to the fact that he was evil.

"Yeah I've seen both of them." Mason answered.

"Where are they?" Elena questioned.

"You don't need me for that. Why don't you have your friends sniff them out for you." He suggested. He knew. He then looked at Caroline. "Does your mother know what you are? I could tell her."

Caroline prepared to fight before he suddenly grabbed Elena in a headlock.

"Careful, necks snap easily around here." He replied. As soon as those words left his mouth, I rushed over and started to beat the crap out of him. There was nothing dumber than threatening the lover of a vampire. I grabbed his own neck.

"They do, don't they." I remarked.

"Anna, stop!" Elena interrupted. That was probably the only thing that could quell my rage. "We need to go."

I let him go. He would be fine, even though such a beating would land a normal person in the hospital. We raced off towards the old Lockwood cellar.

"What's going on down there?" Caroline asked. Could she not hear it? They were talking.

"I don't know. I can't hear it." Elena replied before she realized something. "But you can. You can hear it."

Caroline started to listen I guess as her mom gave the deputies the go to kill Stefan and Damon.

"It's my mom." Caroline remarked. She seemed shocked. "She's killing them."

"We have to stop her." Elena replied.

"No. I can't. She's going to find out about me." Caroline whined. I knew a few things about disapproving mothers so maybe I could help her out. Elena then ran down the stairs.

"Caroline this is a life and death situation." I replied.

"I'm not gonna let you hurt them." Elena stated. I was guessing that she stood in front of the brothers. "You will have to shoot me too."

"Caroline, you saw how I am when Elena is in danger." I explained. "The only way to save her is to help me save them."

With that the two of us rushed down the stairs, digging our teeth into the two deputies necks. I wasn't even sure why I did it. I legitimately hated biting people. Maybe it was because I let my anger get the best of me. Anyway, Sheriff Forbes looked at us and then dropped her gun.

"Hi Mom." Caroline declared. Well it was pretty safe to say that Stefan and Damon were safe now. Elena and Caroline started to remove the bullets.

As things started to calm down, I started to cry. It wasn't from killing the person because I planned on doing that anyway. It was because Elena had seen me act like an animal. It had been centuries since I had done anything like that. Even before blood bags were invented, I still only drank enough to satisfy me.

"Anna, it's okay. You did what you had to do." She told me.

"I didn't have to drink his blood." I wept as I noticed Damon was drinking from him. "I could have just snapped his neck. You saw me act in a moment of weakness."

At that moment, Elena tried to kiss me but I pulled away.

"Elena, you can't kiss me like this." I told her.

"I don't care about what you did." She stated.

"No I mean you can't kiss me like this because it's dangerous. I'm covered with blood and blood has pathogens in it." I told her. "You could get really sick."

"Oh…yeah….I forgot." She admitted.

"That hits the spot." Damon interrupted. He then looked over at Stefan. "You need some deputy blood."

"No." Stefan remarked.

"Damon's right. If there ever a time to break your diet…" Caroline started before I cut her off.

"He said he didn't want any!" I replied.

"This is quite an unfortunate situation." Damon declared as he looked over everything. "Two deputies dead and you. What are we going to do about you?"

"Can you get Caroline away from me?" She asked coldly.

"She's your daughter Liz." Damon reminded her.

"Mom, you can't tell anyone. He will kill you." Caroline said. The sheriff remained silent. "Mom."

"Then kill me!" Sheriff Forbes shouted. I didn't understand how she could be so blinded by hatred that she couldn't accept her own daughter.

"No." Caroline argued.

"Kill me now." Sheriff Forbes demanded.

"But you were going to drag it out so slowly." Damon whispered.

"Damon, don't." Stefan commanded.

"Relax, no one's killing anybody." Damon declared before whispering. "You're my friend."

For once in his life, Damon actually had a good idea. He wanted to lock Sheriff Forbes up until the vervain passed through her system and then we would compel her to forget what happened. Once we got to the boarding house, I took a shower to wash the dirty blood off of me.

"So I ran into Katherine in the woods today." I told Elena after I was done. "I didn't talk to her about Caroline. We really didn't talk about anything. I want you to know that she kissed me, but I didn't kiss her back."

"Oh my god, we forgot Mary." Elena remarked. I assumed that she was going to get a ride home with Meredith or something. She frantically called her sister. Hopefully the younger Gilbert would understand. After she got off the phone, she came back to me. "So anyway, I know that Katherine likes you and now Caroline knows that we know what's going on. We should probably still be careful though."

"I can do that." I told her. "Do you know that I used to be an actress? In actual movies."

"Can I see any of them?" She inquired.

"They're kind of not on DVD." I replied. "At least I don't think they are."

"There's one more thing that we need to do." She declared before she gave me a kiss.

So I added a scene that wasn't in the original and I also made Meredith younger. She is played by Sofia Carson. Please don't forget to review.
