(Note there is a trigger warning in this chapter)
I was pissed. Not so much at Elena, but at Katherine. Not only had she had she caused Elena to break up with me and orchestrated the death of my mother, she also tried to kill my surrogate mother. Jenna had taken me in and taken care of me ever since I came to live in the Gilbert house. I currently was not staying in the house because I wanted to give Elena some space, but I had to go somewhere that Katherine could not access, so I was staying in Bonnie's house while her father was away. I even convinced her to teach me a few spells.
Of course I still needed to get my blood from the boarding since neither Bonnie or I wanted me to drink from her. She also said that I couldn't have blood in her house.
So I went to the boarding house and the first thing that I saw there was Caroline, looking spooked. It wasn't that hard to figure out what happened, but I decided I would listen anyway. Stefan conveniently came into the room around the same time as me.
"Go ahead tell them what you told me." Damon ordered.
"So I went to the Grill to eat and stalk Matt." Caroline replied. She then mentioned the small talk which I didn't exactly get the point of.
"Get to the point." Damon told her.
"So anyway I went to the bathroom because I'm a doofus and that's where I saw her. She gave me a message. 'Give her the moonstone tonight at the masquerade or she'll go on a killing spree."
"Why does everyone think that they need to use violence to get what they want?" I asked. Yes, I had kidnapped Elena and Bonnie, but I had no intention of hurting either of them.
"Says the girl that resorted to kidnapping." Damon remarked.
"Says the girl who didn't want to hurt anyone." I corrected.
"Hey, let's focus." Stefan mediated. "We finally know where Katherine is going to be, so we actually plan to attack her."
"We need to tell everyone except Elena about this." Damon suggested. I didn't think she even wanted to go anymore. "She's scared. Going after Jenna was desperate. She doesn't think we'll do anything in a public place."
I don't know why he thought she scared. She didn't exactly have any reason to be afraid of us.
"Maybe it's not the best idea to underestimate her." I proposed. I believed Katherine really would go on a killing spree, especially since she could blame Elena for it if she wanted to.
"Can't we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?" Caroline asked. I didn't think she would leave.
"No all that bitch deserves is death and tonight she's going to get it." Damon declared.
So we sent out some texts and soon Mary and Alaric were there. The only one who hadn't shown up was Bonnie. Alaric was teaching Damon and Stefan how to hide stakes. I wouldn't be able to do that because while my dress did have sleeves, it was pretty easy to see through them. Soon the bell rang and the witch was there.
"Hey, I got your text." She said. I hadn't told her the plan when I asked her to come over. "What's going on?"
"We're gonna kill Katherine." Mary declared as she walked by. I didn't want to be so blunt about it.
"I can explain." I declared. She looked at me in amusement, probably thinking about what possible explanation I could have. Yes she saw through me. "We're going to kill Katherine."
"Anna, you could put one of these in your stocking." Alaric suggested. That could work. I just hoped that I wouldn't become blinded by vengeance. I got a lot from my father. Part of me wanted her to suffer, but I knew that she needed to die tonight.
"We need to talk." Bonnie demanded as she pulled me aside. "I can't believe you want to do this in a public place. Too many people could get hurt."
"Too many people have gotten hurt." I pointed out. I wasn't sure why she was so adverse to killing her. "That's exactly why we need to do this. We do not want her to hurt anyone else and I don't know enough magic to do it myself."
"I guess I could trap her like the tomb spell." She suggested.
"Poetic. I like it." I stated.
I knew there were still a few flaws with the plan but we could work those out as we go. We still had to find a way to get Katherine into our trap, but I was pretty sure that Katherine wouldn't get out alive unless there was some sort of cosmic invention keeping her alive.
Before everyone left to get changed, we decided to go over the plan again so everyone would know what they needed to do. Alaric was going to the Gilbert house to watch over Jenna and keep Elena away from the party. All he had to do was not be suspicious because I didn't think she want to go.
"Does everyone know what they're supposed to do?" Damon asked. No one said anything. "Okay, this is the last chance to back out. Caroline?"
"Oh I'm in. She killed me, so fair is fair." She stated. "But we should probably have someone watch over Tyler."
"As long as he doesn't kill anyone he won't become a werewolf." Mary pointed out. We already knew that.
"Bonnie?" Damon asked. I was pretty sure that she still hated him.
"Okay, but no one gets hurt." The witch replied.
"Except for Katherine. Tonight she gets a stake in her heart." Damon declared as we started to leave.
"Mary!" I called to her and she stopped. I then headed over to where she stood. "So I found a spell that can help you. I can't change your body but I can change your voice to sound more feminine."
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah." I replied as I cast the spell. "How do you feel?"
"The same…" She remarked before she covered her mouth. "Holy crap!"
I really wanted to help her get ready for the dance but I couldn't because I didn't want Elena to see me which could blow our cover.
I had gone all out with my dress. It had a black lace bodice with tulle sleeves and a red and black tulle skirt with a red and black mask. It was similar to something that I had actually worn during the Renaissance except the tulle fabric wasn't used back then. I was quite desirable but men feared me because of who my father was. It was mainly the reason that I started to date women.
Part of me was extremely bummed that I wouldn't be able dance with Elena at the party. I wanted to be with my girlfriend, despite the fact that she wasn't currently my girlfriend. I knew there would be problems if she ever met my family, but he didn't know where I was, so it wasn't an issue. I could simply not introduce them until she was a vampire. Of course I had no idea how to find him since it had been over 300 years.
We decided that we would go to the ball together. Mary was wearing a simple pale pink gown with a matching gown and a belt around her waist and a pink mask. I would still find a way to give her the body that she wanted, but at least she sounded more like a girl. I couldn't help but wonder if Caroline would try to talk to Matt. I couldn't help but wonder why they hadn't gotten back together. All of her blood issues were gone. Though, I didn't really see a future for the two of them anyway. Despite having nothing to go off other than intuition, I actually thought Caroline might be a lesbian.
The Lockwood mansion was extremely well-decorated. Whoever was in charge of that new what they were doing. I was a little bit uncertain about the fire jugglers. It seemed like it could be a recipe for disaster. Maybe they were just so confident that they didn't think anything would happen.
"You look beautiful." I told Mary because I was pretty sure that she needed someone to tell her about. Sometimes I felt I was the only one who cared about her transition, even though I was pretty that wasn't true.
I went upstairs with Mary and Bonnie and we found an empty room. I wanted to see if I could help Bonnie with it. I didn't know how this particular spell would be useful to me, but I was sure that I could find a use for it.
"This could work." Bonnie stated as she took out the grimoire.
"Is that the spellbook Jonathan Gilbert wrote about?" Mary asked.
"Yes." Bonnie confirmed.
"Do you know why Emily helping him anyway?" Mary asked me. I supposed getting it from someone who was there made sense.
"Easy. She had a thing for him." I answered.
"Really?" Bonnie asked with a blush. I couldn't help but wonder if history would repeat itself.
"So I'm gonna stand out here so we can do the spell without me being trapped inside." I stated.
"I can't believe that you're willing to trap yourself like that." Mary commented.
"The thing is I'm the only one stronger than Katherine." I pointed out. "I have to be there to take her down."
We cast the spell and I headed downstairs. I had a feeling that Katherine would be looking for me and she wouldn't do anything is unless she saw me there.
I started to look around to see if I could find her. I wasn't sure how my father would feel if I managed to kill Katherine. Part of me thought that he would proud of me, but another part of me knew that he wanted to do it himself and he probably planned on making her suffer.
"Dance with me." She interrupted. She had chosen to forego a gown for a short black dress that showed a lot of cleavage. If I didn't know she was evil, I would be very attracted to her.
"No." I retorted. I had a feeling that she would not accept that answer though.
"Fine. Who should I kill?" She asked as she licked a chocolate-covered strawberry. Okay, I seriously needed to get myself one of those. Chocolate and strawberries were too of my favorite foods. I sighed and took her to the dancefloor. She began to dance with me. "Why have you been avoiding me?"
"Has it ever occurred to you that I hate you?" I questioned. I hoped that she wouldn't use that movie thing again. It was getting old.
"Do I really need to say it again?" She asked.
"This isn't a movie, Katherine." I told her.
"Where is the moonstone?" She asked.
"Do you really think I could carry it in this dress?" I questioned.
"Then get it for me." She demanded.
"You're still as impatient as ever." I stated.
"Hey, Elena that dress is totally gorge." Aimee Bradley interrupted us. This was not going to end well.
"Aimee, run." I compelled. However, before she could even move, I heard a crack.
"Paralyzed from the neck down." Katherine said before there was another crack and Aimee fell limp. "And dead. Now you have fifteen minutes to get me the moonstone before I kill again."
Now that was very unfortunate. Bonnie was not going to be happy about that. I had to put her in Damon's trunk. We could deal with that after Katherine was dealt with. I then prepared to go up to help Stefan and Damon, but it seemed like fate had other plans for me. As I prepared to head inside the house, I was suddenly grabbed from behind and that was when I saw Mary and more importantly Elena. It seemed like it was a bad idea to have Alaric distract her.
"What the hell are you doing?" She asked me.
"Elena, we're killing Katherine tonight." I told her.
"Why are you doing this without me?" She questioned.
"Elena, you and Katherine are not supposed to be in the same place." Mary pointed out.
"I am not letting you do this because of me." Elena stated.
"It's not just about you." I told her. I was getting a little irritated with her. We hadn't really fought when we were together. "I'm doing this for…"
However before I could finish my sentence, Elena started to bleed from her back. Uh oh. That's not good. I ran upstairs, knowing that I had to stop them. Damon was standing over with a stake in hand.
"Stop!" I shouted. 'You're hurting Elena. She's linked to Katherine."
"You've got to be kidding me." Damon said as he got up.
"You think you're the only one who knows a witch?" Katherine asked.
"You motherfucker." I said. I had so many things that I wanted to do to her, but all of them would hurt Elena. I finally could use magic and I couldn't use it against her. That was so unfair.
"Yes, I did fuck your mother." She said. What? Was she being serious or was she lying? "You have no idea how much of a sub she could be."
I didn't know if I could trust her but she was really getting under my skin. I then noticed that sat down and put her hand under her dress. Oh my god.
"Ever since you killed Mason, I don't have anyone to satisfy me. I guess I'll have to do this." She replied. I immediately looked away as she started to moan. That was evil. I'm pretty sure that qualified as sexual assault because Elena had no say in the matter. "Ah, ah, boys, any closer Elena is going to have a very embarrassing injury."
I had to do something. I needed to find the witch that linked Katherine to Elena and I needed to kill her. I could take any more of the torture. The only problem was I had no idea who it was. I did have another idea, but I knew Elena wouldn't want to do that. Links went both ways, but I wasn't going to turn her into a vampire to kill Katherine.
The other idea was to try to pleasure Elena myself, but by doing so, I would also be pleasuring Katherine as well. I could only listen, imagining what Elena was feeling.
"The moonstone." Stefan remarked. "That's what you gave to George Lockwood"
"What are you talking about?" Damon asked.
"That's you convinced George to free you." Katherine said. "The only question was who were you running from?"
I knew exactly who she was running from. The only thing was I couldn't tell them. Things would definitely change if they knew who I was. They would immediately stop trusting me if they knew.
It turned out that Bonnie was working on trying to find the witch. I managed to overhear them talking. The other thing about the tomb spell is it dampened the senses of the vampires trapped inside. They could only see, hear, or smell what a normal human could. It turned out this other witch was a cousin or something of Bonnie's. She said that she would remove the linking spell, but I needed to be sure before I did anything. She then walked upstairs.
"Katherine." The witch said. "The spell on this room has been lifted and I also have this."
She held out the moonstone.
"Before I give it to you, I need you to tell me that my debt to you will be paid." She remarked.
"It will." Katherine said as she reached out to touch the moonstone and immediately started seizing. Now I believed that the link was broken. However as much as I wanted to see Katherine die, it was more important for me to check on Elena. Maybe we would be able to get a dance in.
I headed outside the house and I found her over by the lake. I was glad that she was okay.
"Elena, I am so sorry that she did that to you." I remarked. She looked like she wanted to cry. We would definitely not be dancing.
"Anna, can you please just leave me alone?" She asked.
"Elena, I know I said that I would never compel you, but I really think this should be an exception." I told her. Now I wanted to go back and kill her, but I felt Elena needed me more.
"Please do. I just want to go home and forget about this." She requested with tears in her eyes as she took off her necklace.
"You know that you were linked to Katherine, but you don't remember what she did." I declared with my own tears. "You're going to go home and forget about this."
It was so horrible what Katherine had done. As Elena started to walk away, I prepared to back to finish the job. However, I was once again grabbed from behind. Only this time, I rag was put in front of my face. I was being kidnapped, but it wasn't chloroform on the rag. It was vervain. I couldn't help but be shocked before I faded into a state of unconsciousness.
So Katherine did something unspeakable to Elena by using the link. Anna had to get rid of those memories to spare her the pain, but that's not even the biggest thing since it's Anna who got kidnapped instead. Turns out there's something more important to Klaus than the doppelganger. Anyway...please don't forget to review.
