Tales of Xalthia
Chapter 27: An Untold History
Devon, the Prime Minister of Esseand, escorted Tsuki and his companions through the castle, telling them the history behind the city and why they chose to build in such a unique area. Being foreign travelers that have ties to another kingdom, however, they weren't allowed to see things until their status in Ersheath improves. To ensure their safety and well-being, only the officials of Ersheath know of where they came from under the reassuring words of Raiku. If word were to get out that travelers with ties to another kingdom were roaming around Ersheath, panic and other problems could arise from it. It took about twenty minutes to visit the places they were allowed to see within the castle. When the tour of the castle was complete for the time being, Devon led the group to the second floor where the library was at.
After being up on the second floor for several minutes, they finally reached the library. Devon approached one of the doors alongside the wall and turned to face Tsuki and his companions. "This is our royal library. Beyond this door, you'll find our historian. His Majesty should of already informed her about your visit. rShe'll help you with anything you may need. In the meantime, I have to report back to His Majesty. If you folks will excuse me" he said. He then bowed to the group and walked further down the hall, disappearing around a corner.
Tsuki watched as Devon walked past them and disappeared down the hallway. "So, Raiku was a step ahead of us. It seems he trusts us but I think things would be different if we didn't have Ramza with us" he said.
Ramza shrugged. "I wouldn't be so sure of that. Don't forget that he is close friends with Taichi and Emma. I'm sure he knows that if they were able to trust us, he could do the same especially since Cheria is with us as well" he said.
Cheria looked at Ramza and tilted her head. "Even with that under consideration, I'm still surprised he let us into the castle so easily especially when they're in conflict with Nargelond. Maybe not from him but I was sort of expecting some hostility or tension from the knights here considering the fact that we are foreigners" she said.
Ramza chuckled a bit, shaking his head. "The knights of Esseand are more peaceful than you may think. We don't wish to raise conflict. The knights and officials all trust Raiku wholeheartedly so if he says that we're safe to conduct our business here, they'll listen" he said.
Tsuki shrugged, shaking his head. "At least things are in our favor. At least we can finally talk to an expert and see if they have answers to some of our questions" he said.
They soon pushed open the doors to the library. When the door opened up, they saw numerous bookshelves with countless books on them. The library was a medium-sized room that looked half the size of an audience chamber with two floors to it. Each floor had shelves upon shelves of books. They had every book genre in the library from simple comics and magazines to dusty history books. Since the library is always open for the public, they had to make sure they had material for all ages. Being surrounded by countless books and several scholars scattered throughout the library, they had everything they could need. As they looked around, they saw no signs of the historian that Devon had mentioned.
Lynette could feel herself get a bit dizzy from the towering bookshelves and countless amount of books. "Whoa, look at the size of this place. I've never seen a library so big before. There's got to be over a thousand books here!" she said. She liked reading books so she could see herself being in this library for hours on end when they're doing their own things around the city.
Ramza walked off from the group and headed towards a series of stairs. "Well, this is Esseand's Royal Library, after all. The royal family here are huge literature fanatics so if they come across a book they haven't seen, they try to add it to their abundant collection" he said. He then stopped at the foot of the stairs and looked back at Lynette. He could tell from the look on her face that she also loved literature. "If you think this place is amazing, just wait until you see the royal family's private library. This one is insignificant in comparison" he said. He then looked up the set of stairs. "Since it seems that our historian isn't around right now, let's take a look around. We may be able to find something that might help us. A lot of old books and documents were brought here, after all" he said.
Tsuki looked at Ramza and nodded. "Good idea. With a place like this, there has to be at least something" he said.
Tsuki and his companions split off to different parts of the library, skimming through the various bookshelves to find anything of interest. There were so many books and shelves to look through that it would take them several hours to search through the entire place. After about twenty minutes, everyone but Ramza gathered around one of the round tables near the far end of the library. Unfortunately, they didn't find much but they have yet to even scratch the surface of the library.
Tsuki leaned up against one of the stone pillars, folding his arms. "Man, there's just too many books and shelves to look through. It'll take us the entire day to go through everything" he said. He then scratched his head, not sure what to do.
Cheria sighed heavily, sitting down at the table and leaned onto the table. "I guess we'll have to wait for that historian. Hopefully, they can be of help to us otherwise this will take forever" she said.
Just then, a voice came from somewhere in the library. "Someone called?" the voice asked.
The group turned and faced the reception area where a young girl with brown glasses, shoulder length brown hair with a white silk robe approached them. She looked to be about twenty years old and was as tall as Lynette.
The girl approached Tsuki and his companions at arms length in front of Tsuki and examined all of them closely, studying them. When she was ready to speak, she faced Tsuki. "Judging from your appearance, you must be esteemed guests from Cayhill that my brother had briefly informed me about" she said. She fell silent for a moment longer to examine them further before speaking up again. "He wasn't joking; you guys stick out like a sore thumb. I apologize for the delay. My brother had informed me that you guys were coming to see me so I had to get some things prepared. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Luan Calloway, Esseand's historian and little sister of King Raiku" she said. She then bowed to the group in respect.
Tsuki examined the girl as she introduced herself. "You're the historian we were told about? You don't look that much older than me" he said. He was surprised that there were people as young as this girl that could actually be a historian. "My name is Tsuki Himura. It's a pleasure to meet you. My companions are Lynette Suzaki, Cheria Tsubasa, Nagi Ferid, Elle Solize, Ruko Keiss and-" he said as he tried to introduce his friends.
As Tsuki was introducing his friends, Ruko wasn't aware of what he had interrupted when he finally came down from the second floor holding a couple of books that looked pretty old. "Hey, I found something you guys might be interested in" he said.
Luan looked over at Ramza when he rejoined Tsuki's group as he appeared to be a part of their gang, her eyes widening a bit. "Ramza? Is that you?" she asked. She then approached him until she was just inches in front of him. "So, this is where you disappeared to. You had me worried when you suddenly left without a word" she said.
Ramza scratched the back of his head and placed a hand on top of her head. "I'm sorry about that. I was in a hurry and needed to leave immediately. I didn't have time to let anyone know I was leaving" he said.
Ruko looked over at Ramza. "You know her?" he asked. Just then, he remembered Ramza telling him that he had someone he was trying to get back during the celebrations Basilwell had several weeks ago. "Wait, is this that special person you mentioned to me in Basilwell?" he asked.
Ramza chuckled and shook his head. "Heavens no, but she's her childhood friend" he said. He then patted Luan on the shoulder and looked at the others. "She may look young, but Luan is a major history buff and explorer. Hell, she's even smarter than some of the world's top scholars. There isn't anything that she doesn't know" he said.
Luan giggled a bit and shook her head, pushing him away gently. "You give me far too much credit. I just grew up reading books and learning about our world's history" she said. She then looked at the rest of the group, holding her hands up to her chest. "I simply love reading about history of the world and of each kingdom. There's so much I still need to learn and it's my mission to learn everything I can" she said.
Tsuki fell into thought for a moment. If she was as smart as she and Ramza say, then maybe he could finally have his questions answered. "We've gotten a pretty good idea on the history behind Ersheath and Nargelond, Can you tell us everything you know about this infamous cult? Or anything about the Ancients?" he asked.
Luan held a hand under her chin, closing her eyes. "Those two groups, huh? You couldn't ask for a more difficult subject. Let's see..." she said. She then turned around and paced from left to right in thought. "I'll start with the cult first. The cult goes by the name of Draxus. They were once a small cult that consisted of less than fifteen members who were common thugs and fanatics. However, over the years, they've grown exponentially in numbers and power with at least one hundred and fifty known active members with increasing members each month" she said. She then walked over to a file cabinet that was on the other side of the receptionist's desk and pulled out a folder with several sheets of paper. She walked back to the round table, placed them down and laid out the sheets of paper side-by-side as well as some old photographs. The photographs consisted of some known members and affiliates of the cult as well as the remains of small towns and villages that they had pillaged over the years. "Take a look at these pictures. These are some of the people that we know are in league with them and the towns that had been destroyed by them. To this day, there have been thirty-five documented villages that were attacked by Draxus, with a documented death toll of at least three hundred and fifty people and forty-five abducted people. There are no records or any survivors from both attacks on the villages and those who were abducted. To make matters worse, we don't know where their main base of operations is since they're constantly on the move so no one's been able to bring them to justice. Despite their small numbers, they're elusive, crafty devils that have been evading the world's government for over twenty years" she said.
Cheria sighed heavily as Luan told them what she knew about the cult. It was a sore subject for Tsuki and especially Nagi but they still didn't know much about them. At least, they finally had a name to go by. "Well, you can update those records of no survivors" she said, taking a brief glance at Tsuki, Nagi and even Elle very briefly though not making it apparent to the others.
Luan tilted her head. "What do you mean? Do you guys know of any survivors?" she asked.
Nagi sighed heavily. The subject of the cult was brought up again but she knew that this topic would come up a lot so she had to try and get used to it as best as she can. She then held onto Tsuki's arm tightly as her body shook a little bit. "Yes. There are at least two or three survivors and you have two of them standing in this room. Me and Tsu are two of those survivors" she said, glaring at Elle. She wanted to scold Elle without Tsuki or anyone else knowing since she, Lynette and Cheria knew of the secret she's hiding.
Luan's eyes widened a bit when she told her that Tsuki and Nagi were survivors. "What!? No way! You two are the only people to survive an encounter with Draxus and live to tell the tale! What about third survivor?" she asked.
Tsuki shook his head slowly, looking up at Luan. He then placed his hand on top of Nagi's head. "Unfortunately, we don't know anything. The third survivor is someone very important to me but I have yet to catch wind of her since the day that Tomoha was destroyed. I don't know if she is even still alive now or not" he said.
Luan folded her arms and held her hand to her chin. It was disappointing that the whereabouts and status of the third survivor remained unknown but just the fact that she knew that there were two living survivors in front of her was enough. "If you don't mind, would you mind telling me what you know about Draxus?" she asked.
Tsuki shook his head. "I'll tell you at another time. Nagi has received significant mental trauma and scarring and hasn't recovered from it. Going into detail about it now wouldn't be good for her. I'll tell you when she isn't present. I don't want her to have flashbacks again" he said.
Nagi continued to hold onto Tsuki's arm as the conversation about the cult dragged on. She knew where the conversation would end up at and she tried her hardest not to listen. When Tsuki told her that he would explain it without her around, she felt relieved. "I'm sorry for this, Luan" she said.
Luan looked at Nagi and her severe discomfort and uneasiness was plainly visible. That's when she realized that she asked a question she shouldn't have. She gave her a warm smile and nodded, looking back at Tsuki. "Okay. I'll move on to what I know about the Ancients then. Compared to Draxus, I have much more information about them than I do about the cult. In fact, there's even information that isn't even public knowledge and I'm willing to tell you as long as you promise that everything that I'm about to say will stay between us. If people knew about this information, it would surely cause in uproar" she said.
Tsuki nodded at her. "Alright, you have our word" he said. Whatever she had to say apparently is extremely important, given her expression and tone of voice.
She turned back around and walked up to a locked door. She unlocked it and stepped inside for a few moments. She soon came out with numerous old, dusty textbooks, maps and even some old scrolls. Judging from the condition they were in, they haven't been touched in quite a while. She then set them down on the table and laid them out side-by-side. "I'm sure you guys are at least familiar with the basic stuff right? About how they were supposedly descendants of the first inhabitants that wielded unique power and all that junk, right?" she asked.
Tsuki nodded. "Yeah. I want to know more about them. Things I didn't already know. Anything new could be of great help to us" he said. He was particularly interested about the Ancients due to all of the events that had happened to him and what he had experienced back in Cayhill several months prior.
Luan fell into thought for a moment. After a moment of silence from her, she nodded and headed back into the room where she got the other things from. Seconds later, she came back out with an even older looking book. However, this one was more torn and beat up. "As you may all know, the world's top scientists, researchers and linguists haven't uncovered much about the Ancients. They've made dozens of public statements saying that they've only uncovered a small fraction of the Ancients, which is true. There's just not enough substantial evidence out there as of now. However..." she said. She then walked up to the table once more and placed the old book down. The book was so old and dated that the most of the text was unreadable and the picture on the book itself was so faded and torn that it was impossible to make out what it was. "As it's my dream to be the worlds' best researcher and explorer, I'm already two steps ahead of them" she said.
The book that Luan set down on the table was covered in dust and dirt. The whole thing was beat to hell and looked almost ancient from the condition it was in and how it was made. The book was made out of a different material that modern books are made up of. Modern day books are made from refined leather and the paper is made rather cheap. This book, however, was different. It was made out a unique type of leather that's very hard to come by in the modern age and the paper is made out of a tough, ragged material. It almost didn't feel like it was paper at all. Whatever writing on the book's cover, spine and back that they could make out was in a language that had been lost in history. Tsuki and his companions were stunned and speechless.
Luan giggled at their reactions. It was to be expected. She was the only person in the world who knew much more about the Ancients than anyone. "If you think that's amazing, just wait until you see these" she said. She then walked up to a safe that was in the wall near the unlocked room was. She entered a combination and moments later, the doors to the safe flew open. She then took out three more scrolls, a couple charts and a stack of paper. They all appeared as aged as the book was. She walked back to the table and set them down carefully. "All of these were discovered in a long forgotten ruin by me. The only people that know about these things are me and Raiku." she said.
The scrolls, charts and paper were all made out of the same material as the paper in the book which signifies to them that they were all connected and came from the same time period. They were all torn and appeared very fragile. Simply mishandling them could cause them to disintegrate to dust. They all shared the same print and language as well which further proves this as such.
Lynette gazed at the items that Luan took out and placed on the table. She wanted to touch them to get a better look but was afraid that she would wreck them so she restrained herself. "Whoa. What are they?" she asked.
Elle examined the materials that Luan had brought out and laid out on the table for them. Since she herself was an Ancient, she was able to recognize them based off her memory. "Old relics of the past. Judging from their condition, language and material, they appear to be from around the time of the Ancients. Despite being extremely old and torn, they've been persevered very well. I didn't think anything like this still existed" she said, confirming their curiosity.
Luan tilted her head and looked over at Elle. She seemed to know about the Ancients as well. "Oh? You appear to be an expert on the Ancients as well. Have you studied them too?" she asked.
Elle shrugged. "You can say that. I've done my share of research about them" she said. She then approached the table and examined the items carefully. The book is where she started first. She brushed her hand gently and slowly across the book's cover, trying to see if she could make out the title. After a few moments of silence and study, she was able to make out the words. "Lorategia: Battered and Broken" she said, reading the title out loud. She then carefully opened up the book and tried to read a few pages. Unfortunately, the pages themselves were in worse condition than the leather of the book itself and it only worsened the more pages she turns to. If the pages weren't ripped, the text was smeared and faded. It was nearly impossible to read anything after the first couple of pages.
Cheria walked up behind Elle and watched her read several pages. Since she didn't know how to read the language that belong to the Ancients, she couldn't make anything out and even if she did, it was nearly impossible to read anyway due to the book's condition. "That looks complicated. You can actually read all of that, Elle?" she asked.
Elle nodded. "Some of it. I can't read everything though because the text is so faded and smeared. However, I can tell you that this book was written in one of the old languages of the Ancients that became lost" she said. She then skimmed through the rest of the book before she got to the point where the text became completely unreadable and the pictures too faded and destroyed to make out. Once she was no longer able to make anything out, she carefully closed the book.
Ramza folded his arms and looked at Elle, leaning up against a stone pillar. "What could you make out?" he asked.
Elle sighed heavily and scratched the back of her head. "This isn't just an old history book. It's also a journal. The author that wrote this wrote about some of the history and the things that were going on during their time. To be more specific, it appears to be written by someone during the time of the War of Mana. Whoever this person was, they wrote about the world's state, added in their own personal views and even added in some history about the events that led up to and during the war. Unfortunately, everything becomes unreadable for me prior to one of the worst battles of the war. I can't read what this person wrote but I could just barely made out some of the old pictures. It was the Battle of Reimsdale" she said.
Luan leaned against the table in deep thought when Elle mentioned Reimsdale. It shocked her that someone else knew about it. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "So, you know about Reimsdale, huh? I'm surprised someone else knew about that battle. It was indeed one of the bloodiest, most horrific battle of the entire war" she said.
Tsuki's curiousity and interest peaked when she mentioned the Battle of Reimsdale. Throughout the years, he's studied and learned almost everything that was public knowledge about the War of Mana. He's read multiple books, news articles and has heard various stories about the War of Mana. However, not once has he heard anything about the Battle of Reimsdale. Before she went any further, he had to know more so he looked at Elle and Luan. "Wait, hold on. I've read almost everything about the War of Mana and not once was there any mention of the Battle of Reimsdale. What was it?" he asked.
Luan looked at Tsuki. "Reimsdale was once a majestic city that was located on the continent of Cayhill. It was the home to thousands of people and was under control by one of the world's largest military forces at the time. The city was infiltrated by their enemies and attacked from the inside and eventually having their gates blown open by a massive army of soldiers. It was a surprise attack that severely crippled Reimsdale and as a result, thousands of soldiers and innocent people were slaughtered and laid to waste away in the ruined streets and fields. By the time the enemy retreated, Reimsdale was left in total ruin. Survivors were few and scattered. Now, I haven't been able to confirm this for myself but this came from one of my most trusted and credible sources so take this with a grain of salt. The grizzly sight was so gruesome when relief efforts and allied forces arrived that the worlds' government was forced to keep the Battle of Reimsdale out of the history books and make it seem like the battle never even happened. They tried to destroy all documentation about Reimsdale and everything related to the once majestic city. So far, these are the only pieces of documentation that still exists in the world that talks about Reimsdale" she said. Just thinking about what the relief effort could of saw was enough to send chills down her spine. She was fully aware of how much death occurs during wartime but if it was so bad that it had to be erased from history speaks volumes.
Tsuki was confused. Why would the government try to keep the Battle of Reimsdale from the public? "Why would they try to make it like it never happened? That makes no sense. You'd think that they would want the world to know" he said.
Luan shook her head. She didn't know what to tell him because she didn't know what they were thinking. "I can't even begin to speculate. It's just one of the many mysteries that I want to uncover" she said.
Ruko was overwhelmed by everything. His mind was blown away by all of the shocking things that they've just discovered and it brings more impact when he thinks that they're the only people in the world that has knowledge about something that the worlds' government tried to bury away in secret. Unable to grasp everything all at once, he leaned down against the table to gather his thoughts as he studied the scrolls. As he studied them, he noticed something. "Hey, what are these markings? There's a different one on each scroll" he said, pointing to a strange looking symbol in the top right corner of the scroll.
Elle then turned her focus on the three scrolls. They were made of different material but still bearing similarities. There also appeared to be royal seals on each scroll. Not much else could be made out because they were so faded but they were clearly different seals. "These scrolls seem to belong to three different groups. This one appears to be a falcon and this one a dragon. For the third one, it's so faded so I can't be certain but it appears to be a wolf" she said, point at the scrolls from left to right.
Luan folded her arms and fell into thought as she examined the seals that Elle pointed out. "A falcon, dragon and wolf, huh? They could symbolize the old kingdoms that our foundations were built on" she said.
Ruko sighed heavily as he thought about the meaning of the three symbols and soon came to a realization. "Hey, you might be on to something. Think about it for a minute. Dragons are native to Nargelond, falcons are native to Ersheath and wolves are native to Cayhill. In fact, the royal seals of those kingdoms bear a striking resemblance to the ones on these scrolls" he said.
Elle nodded, holding her hand up to her chin for a moment before she carefully opened the scrolls one at a time. Once they were open, she read each scroll. Thankfully, it was in a more familiar language of the Ancients and the text and markings weren't as faded unlike the book. It only took her a few minutes to read all of them. "Well, this may come as a surprise. It appears that Nargelond, Ersheath and Cayhill were once allies, judging by what's written in these scrolls" she said.
Luan's interest grew even more when Elle informed them that the three kingdoms were once allies. "Allies, you say? What do the scrolls contain?" she asked.
Elle nodded. "Yes. These scrolls are messages that were being exchanged between the three royal families. They were forming a plan to work with local militia to stop a conflict that had been going on at the time" she said.
Nagi rubbed her chin for a moment. "If they were once allies, I wonder what happened the drove them apart to break the alliance" she said.
Luan shook her head. "Whatever happened between them didn't happen in this day and age, that's for sure. Our answer must still remain in the secrets that the Ancients still hide from us" she said.
Tsuki looked over at the charts. There were about ten of them but all appeared to be mapping the same regions but with different markings. The stack of paper that Elle brought out appeared to be data sheets and old maps with trade routes. His interest was more on the charts though. "What about these?" he asked.
Elle took a look at the charts and studied them carefully. After a few minutes, she sighed with a troubled look on her face. Something wasn't right about the charts. "This is strange. They're definitely war charts without a doubt. Judging by the layout, terrain and what I know of the Reimsdale region, this appears to be an overhead view for the Battle of Reimsdale. However, what makes them strange is that I have no idea where these came from. The seal on the charts are different than the kingdom seals. Whoever these belonged to, they did not come from any of the kingdoms or militia that took part in the battle" she said, revealing some troubling news.
Tsuki looked at Elle and gave her a serious look. "Are you saying that there was another group involved in the war? Why wasn't this told in the history books?" he asked.
Elle nodded. "It appears so. Take a look at this" she said. She then pointed to multiple areas on the charts that were marked. "These aren't just simple markings of attack patterns. These are the areas where each fighting force was based at. Whoever these people were, they had knowledge of their positions and kept track of all their movements. They appear to be extremely skilled at reconnaissance, that much is certain. As for why they weren't mentioned in any of the history books, I don't have an answer for you" she said.
Luan held a finger to her bottom lip and bit on it softly, remembering something. She's heard about something like this before. After a brief moment, she walked back into the room where all of the stuff came from. She was in there for several minutes. However, when she eventually came back out, she had a heavy looking book. She then placed it on the table and flipped through the pages. It took her a few minutes to find what she was looking for. "Over the course of the War of Mana, there were rumors going around that there was a mysterious third party that had a part in the war as well, particularly during the Battle of Reimsdale. After sorting through the carnage and countless body count in the aftermath of Reimsdale's destruction, bodies etched in strange markings adorn in armor and weapons of unknown origin were discovered. After an extensive investigation, a point of origin could not be identified" she said, reading from the book out loud.
Ramza stroked his chin in thought. "This is all extremely interesting. I had no idea there was so much information about the war that was kept from the public. It makes me wonder what else has been kept in secret from us" he said.
Luan nodded. "Yes. In fact, the history that the public knows of heavily contraedicts to what actually happened, according to these old documents. After hearing about all of this stuff, you all know now that there were things left out from history books and the government decided to fabricate lies to fill the empty spaces. Reimsdale was a major battle during the war but yet was never mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you'd still be able to find some sort of ruin or remains of Reimsdale in Cayhill to this day" she explained.
Tsuki hold his hand to his chin and fell into thought for a moment. After thinking about a possible ruined city somewhere in Cayhill, he remembered something. "Now that you mention it, I do recall seeing something that appeared to be ruins of something in the southern portion of Cayhill on one of the old maps. However, I couldn't learn anything about it. I had asked His Majesty about it but appeared to be very reluctant to tell me anything. Based on his reaction at the time, I knew that there was something there and I had planned on investigating the ruins myself at some point since there was no information about the ruins but never got around to doing it" he said.
Luan shook her head. "Those ruins that you saw just might be the ruined region of Reimsdale. If Menorion hadn't overthrown Cayhill, I'd be on the first boat there to investigate them myself. However, until the time is right, we're forced to keep our distance. I just hope that Menorion's presence there won't-" she said.
Just then, the doors to the library flew open with two knights fast approaching the group in the center of the room. They appeared to be in a hurry.
Luan didn't appreciate how the knights suddenly stormed into her library. "By the gods, this is a library, not a dining hall. What's the reason for this sudden intrusion? If you haven't noticed, we're in the middle of an important discussion" she said, scolding them.
The tall knight saluted them and bowed at Luan. "Our apologizes, Ms. Calloway. We didn't mean to intrude on your discussion. However, His Majesty has requested the presence of our foreign travelers. The situation in Dagbor took a drastic turn for the worse and he would like their cooperation on this matter" he said.
Luan's eyes widened with shock. "Did you say Dagbor!? But, that's where Setzu is!" she shouted. Her calm and cool attitude quickly turned into one of worry and horror.
When Tsuki heard the name Setzu, it seemed familiar to him. There was something about that name but he couldn't remember. He then shook his head and looked over at the knights. "Dagbor?" he asked.
Ramza nodded. "Dagbor is a shared border town to the southwest. The town is split in half, divided by a river and heavily guarded gate. One side belongs to Ersheath and the other side belongs to Nargelond" he explained.
The tall knight nodded. "Yes. Tensions have always been high among the soldiers and townspeople from both kingdoms in Dagbor, but it seems thinks have finally spilled over. His Majesty is waiting for you in the Royal Promenade. If you would follow us, things will be explained in due time" he said.
Tsuki nodded. "Okay" he said. He then looked over at Luan. "We'll continue this discussion later. There's still so much more we need to talk about" he said.
Luan shook her head. "If you would allow me, I'd like to go with you. There's someone important to me who was sent to Dagbor on a mission and hasn't given me any kind of notice as of late, so I'm worried" she said. She couldn't bear the thought of having someone important to her being injured or worse.
Tsuki could tell just by looking into her eyes that whoever this Setzu was seemed important to her. He briefly saw Cheria in her eyes since they both share a similar reaction when things like this happens. He then nodded at her. "Sure" he said. He then faced the knights once more. "We're ready. Lead the way" he said.
The two knights then started to escort Tsuki and his group out of the library. They were brought to the third floor where the Royal Promenade was at. The air among them was tense and heavy. They were all feeling anxious to hear about what's happened in Dagbor. However, for some, they couldn't shake the feeling of dread. They felt that something went horribly wrong somewhere but they didn't know what.
To be continued...
