Chapter 43
A/N: SORRY for it being sooo long. And I totally get it because I am also a reader on FanFiction. I can't believe how long this has been going. I'm sorry that this Chapter is short. I wanted to give you all something vs nothing.
The next Chapter will also be short because its supposed to be part of this one. Stay tuned. I have this story planned till the end. Only a few more chapters and then I have ideas for another story within this same universe that I've created. Also oneshots of random fun interactions that I've thought of between my OC and the My Hero Universe.
I've also uploaded the second chapter to my Fan Fiction was another OC. Teachers Pet is a coming of age story with the main My Hero Characters being Aizawa and Hitoshi.
I hope that you enjoy. Comment and again, I'm sorry for the long wait.
"Are you decent?" Izuku called through the bathroom door.
"Not morally, but I'm wearing pants, if that's what you're asking." Rin answered with a giggle on the other end.
It had been almost a week since Rin started staying with Midoriya and he was still learning the ins and outs of having a girl around. Taking forever in the bathroom was new for him. Even when he had lived home his mother had had her own bathroom.
"I left my watch on the counter. May I come in?"
The door opened with Rin standing in the doorway wearing her loose pajama pants paired with one of his T-Shirts.
"Yes." She held out his watch, "And NO, you may not cum in. Children are a big commitment. I'm not even officially moved in." The smirk on her face reached her eyes.
The cat-like smile mixed with her lude comment always made Izuku's toes curl.
"Moving in is also a big commitment." Izuku chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. One of the tell-tale signs for hiding something. Rin wasn't going to let it go.
"Does my currently living here bother you? I know it's been an adjustment but the plumbing busted and Mr. Yagi said it shouldn't be too long." Rin heavily signed and added on, "YOU were also the one who invited me to stay."
"I know. I know." Izuku almost looked embarrassed to say the words. He really did enjoy having Rin living with him.
Rin gave her own heavy sigh, "You know Izuku. I've realized that living with you these past two weeks shows how much heroes are away from their families. I don't see you at the apartment very often." He nodded his head a bit. "It does throw me off too. I'm not used to living with anyone anymore."
They stood there in a silence. Rin felt guilty for bringing up the topic. She knows it hasn't been easy with her living there. She knows that although Midoriya offered his home he did it because it was the nice boyfriend thing to do. And she's very grateful for that but part of her knows that it's pushing boundaries that they were not ready to push.
"Izuku, I know that our relationship wasn't ready to take the next step. To move in together-" He cut her off. "No. Don't think that. I have thought about us living together. But it was faster than I anticipated. I imagined us living together in our own apartment that we chose together with things that we chose to have." He looked down at his feet scared to say his next sentence, "Sometimes it feels like you're invading my space living here the past two weeks."
Rin wasn't sure how to respond. Her first response was to slap his face and complain about how she wasn't invading his space. It did not feel all that different for her than when she would come over often before.
Her thoughts were broken with the sound of Midoriya's phone ringing. She knew that ringtone. It was specifically the ringtone that said he needed to come in to work. That some thief or villain or something was happening and he had to come in. Midoriya watched her face as he picked up the phone and answered it and he said his 'okay's. He nodded his head even though he knew they couldn't see it. And then the call ended.
The tension in the room was obvious. It was also obvious that there was nothing either of them could do about it. Rin was happy that Midoriya enjoyed his job. She was happy that he had lived up to his goals. And she would never ask him to give it up. And Izuku knew all of this. He also knew in his heart that he would never give up being a hero for her. Rin knew this as well.
To break the silence, Rin gently rubbed her boyfriend's arm and smiled. To give him some comfort. "All right. You go. I got work today anyways. Maybe we can have dinner together tonight."
Even though the words were supposed to be of comfort. She knew that they probably would not have dinner together that evening; it was a false hope that she had had the past two weeks.
They went their separate ways when they left the building but not before there were a few pecks of kisses. Rin immediately put in her headphones and started to listen to her Russian playlist. She felt the familiar tingle of her quirk activating. Her brain was registering the language patterns and auto translated them in milliseconds for her. But it was still difficult for her. Unlike the Spanish, French and Japanese that she had learned in the past this wasn't registering the same. She doesn't even notice the tingles when she writes, speaks or listens to those languages.
When she talked to Izuku about it, his theory was that it was out of interest. It's easy to learn something that you move. And she did not LOVE the Russian language. In fact she felt the bit of piercing fear when she thought of the bearded ballerina. Nina. She had spoken to her when they broke into the interrogation room.
For the past 2 months Rin had been listening, watching and reading the language to get a one up on the whole circus situation.
She looked up as she was heading toward the entrance of the agency. Ahead of her she saw Bakugou entering the building. The tug on her lips couldn't help but curl as she saw him ignore the woman who bumped him on his way in.
The development she has witnessed with him was beyond what she would have had expected. It's not that Rin kept tabs on people that she slept with but because they worked together in some ways she saw the differences.
When translating his reports he definitely was making more rational decisions while on the job. She had crossed paths with him in the hallway at the apartment and found out that he was in a few management classes. The topic got brought up with Izuku and he explained to her that continuing your education as a hero looked really good for them. He had also gushed over how his hero friend was very advanced with his studies and because of that was in a self pace college currently.
There was also word in the different All Might Agency departments that Bakugou's 'Not-Therapist' deemed him cleared of his Anger Management. And although he no longer needed to attend his therapy sessions was still going.
When Rin entered the Translations Management Department she was welcomed with a red and white balloon at her desk. They were tied to a weighted box.
"I'm sure I don't have to tell you who that's from." Amy grinned looking over at her.
The school girl blush was burning at Rin's cheeks as she opened the box to reveal the mystery inside. A silver necklace and a notecard lay across a silk fabric pillow. The center laid a simple silver bar.
And the notecard: 'Rin, Would you do me the honor of accompanying me to the Mighty Masquerade Christmas Bash?'
