Chapter 45
Katsuki was filling out the last of his paperwork when Kirishima walked in with his formal wear.
"You never even left the office." Kirishima shook his head, "You're going to make the rest of us look bad, you overachiever."
Katsuki finished the last of his work and couldn't help but have a smile on his face, "Yeah. But I ain't just doing work." He turned the screen to his close friend, "I just finished the last of my pre-requisites."
Red Riots face grew with happiness for his friend. He has been watching all that his loud friend has become and the manliness in his growth.
"That's awesome Man. We can celebrate that tonight." He threw his arm around Bakugou's shoulders and the formal wear fell onto the blonde's lap.
"Yeah. Yeah." The explosion hero got up from his seat with a smug look, "Just don't go getting shit faced."
Yagi watched as the heroes mingled during their off hours. He watched how some of them didn't wear formal wear in case of an emergency.
His eyes found the green curls on the dance floor. He watched as his son danced with Rin. The big toothy smile on his face as his eyes looked in hers.
And just beyond the dancing duo he saw the spiky hair. Young hero that has always been a challenge. A challenge to himself and a challenge for others. Regardless of all of that, All Might is not ashamed to admit to himself that Katsuki is like a son to him.
Taking a deep breath he makes his way across the room to the young blonde.
"Kirishima, my boy, seems you've had quite a bit to drink tonight."
Red Riot gives a ginormous toothy smile to Yagi and then looks him up and down. "All Might, Why do you still wear clothes that are too big for you?" Katsuki rolls his eyes at his friend.
"I told you not to get shit faced." Bakugou crosses his arms.
"I told you. We're celebrating. You're like," Enjiro starts to count on his fingers, "77% through college."
Yagi catches eyes with Tokoyami and nods his head, signaling him over. "Fumikage, could you take Enjiro to have some water? I need to have a talk here with Katsuki."
The black bird didn't protest as he escorted the boy away. Bakugou raised an eyebrow at All Might. He couldn't recall as to why they would need to have a conversation. He had been sure he was doing well in all areas. Even volunteering outside of the agency and anyone who knew him, knew how much he hated to volunteer.
"Congratulations on your prerequisites. Are you still planning to move forward with starting your own agency?" Bakugou was taken aback. He wasn't expecting this sort of conversation. It had been a while since they had a conversation regarding himself.
The last conversation they had together was with his not-therapist. Discussing how they felt that his behavioral adjustments have been well-off. And Mr. Yagi was going to let his not-therapist go. It was a mutual consent, it seemed that the man wanted to continue on with his career somewhere else. Not just be at the Might Agency for Bakugou's well-being.
This was about a month and a half ago. It was the same day that Bakugou started continuing his education. When he decided to move forward with becoming the number one hero and starting his own agency.
"That's the plan still. The University of Kyoto accepted my application." Bakugou took a drink of his cup of water, "They also informed me that if I attended I would be doing solo hero work while in the area."
Yagi could hear the disagreement in the young hero's voice. "You'll learn a lot working on your own." He put a hand on Katsuki's shoulder and squeezed to get his attention. Once he had it, "And I'm positive it will be a good experience before inheriting Might Agency."
Katsuki couldn't hide the feelings that were burning inside him. He was sure his cheeks were red. Him? Inherit Might Agency?
"What about Izuku?" He tried to keep his composure.
All Might looked over at the greenette, "I don't think this is the path for him." Looking back at Bakugou, "And I feel that you have the leadership, determination and integrity for this."
The red eyes brimmed with tears. Yagi knew that the hero would never be seen in public like this. Vulnerable. To save him from the embarrassment he pulled him into a side hug. A hug that Bakugou leaned into but didn't return.
Bakugou murmured in the slim frame, "I'll make you proud."
All Might let go and Katsuki stood up firm and did a quick swipe at his face.
"I know you will."
Midoriya was leaving the dance floor with Rin as he got approached by Pro Hero Hawks.
"Deku, You got yourself a woman." Hawks watched the two linked, "Is this the change that led to your name on my desk?"
Rin had no clue who was in front of her. She recognized that he was attractive and most likely another pro hero. She was mostly curious on his relationship to Izuku.
"Rin, this is Hawks. Hawks this is my girlfriend Rin." Midoriya introduced the two, "I mostly made the choice in light of finding my own path."
Hawks had a smile on his face and nodded his head. Midoriya took this as a sign that his words were the type of answer he was looking for.
"Umm, What are you all talking about?" Rin was her usual to the point.
"Deku here had applied to work at FLY, Inc." Hawks cheesed and threw an arm around Midoriya's shoulders.
"Oh. I didn't know that you were looking to leave All Might." Rin wasn't upset. It was just news that she hadn't heard before this point.
Izuku rubbed the back of his head, "I, uh, didn't want to say anything till I know if I'd get the job yet."
"Well, now she knows and you also know." Hawks took his arm back and turned to walk away, "You're expected to be in office after the New Years Celebrations."
Rin's eyes were probably just as big as Izuku's.
"This will be exciting news to tell your mom at New Years. Does Mr.Yagi know?"
Izuku's excited round eyes fell at the question, "I haven't talked to him about it."
It was silent for a moment. But she couldn't help but do what she does best.
"Sooo, Does that mean that hottie will be your boss?" She laughed.
It was even more humorous to watch as Midoriya turned green. She didn't think it was possible for him to be this green.
"Hey, I have to keep my eyes open." She brought him into a hug and whispered into his ear, "I wouldn't want Daddy to go looking somewhere else."
Midoriya blushed at his girlfriend's words. It was embarrassing but the little bit of teasing is what drew him into liking her. But he has also gotten use to also playing that same game.
"You want to go home and celebrate my new job?" He bit his lip and tried to sound husky.
When Rin's face turned to his with glossy eyes he had known that the words had worked.
