Leo was near the water and as he turned taking a look at his surroundings there was nothing but endless waves. The beach he was on rolled on for miles. A shiver ran down his spine as he heard a voice, a woman's voice. She sang beautifully, haunting his soul. For some reason, he felt drawn to this woman's voice. Her song ebbed and flowed, and Leo eventually saw her. She was standing in the middle of the water her back towards him. Long raven locks flowing behind her back. "Who are you?" Leo called out. She turned and smiled at him before turning back and began moving forward heading away from him. He did not recognize or rather he could not make out her features. That did not stop Leo from wanting answers. "Wait!" Leo rushed forward trudging into the water but as he got deeper in the water he felt himself get sucked under. Within moments he was sucked under getting pulled deeper and deeper into the cold black depths.

Leo gasped his eyes flung open as he sat up. He panted as he took in his surroundings part of him expecting to see the strange woman. He was in his room, up in The Watchtower. He let out a slow breath before holding his head in his hands. Sweat from his body made his shirt stick to his skin.

Leo got to his feet and headed into the bathroom his hand flicked on the faucet. He cupped his hands under the faucet gathering some water before splashing it over his face. He let out a sigh and rubbed the temples of his forehead. He looked straight into the mirror. What a strange dream. He dried his face and retrieved a new shirt.

As he laid back down he attempted to fall back to sleep. No luck, he was up now might as well get up and get some work in.

It was 3 in the morning, the space station was still quiet. He was sure Diana and Diggle were fast asleep. He went to his lab in the station and began working on his suit.

Before Leo knew it it was already 9 am and was interrupted by a video call. When he answered it he was greeted by none other than Brainy. Seeing the man brought a smile to his face. "Brainy! You're awake!"

"That I am. It has been too long. Nia told me you were up in space."

Nia soon came into camera view as she was sitting snugly against Brainy's side as he was sitting in the hospital bed. "How is space, Leo?"

Leo smiled, "It's nice, peaceful. You and the rest of the team are safe, right? No incidents?

Nia reassured him. "All quiet over here. Why?"

"Well, there was a break-in at Luthor Corp last week. Gemma was there and she wanted the bottle that you shrunk Leviathan in. Would she be able to revive Rama Khan and the others?" Leo had exhausted every other theory about why they were interested in the said bottle.

Brainy raised an eyebrow. "Curious... there is no way that they can be brought back. It's impossible."

"I thought Gemma died? Wasn't she a pile of smoking metal?" Nia asked.

"She shouldn't have regeneration now that their base is destroyed and after I shrunk it, its use only is good as a power source. I shall get to work trying to find her." Brainy gave a firm nod.

Leo interrupted. "No, you need to rest. I'm your boss so just gain your strength and be with Nia." Brainy deflated at Leo shutting him down but perhaps he was correct. He had been in a coma and even though he was techno-organic he still needed rest to regain his strength. "How are you guys otherwise?"

Nia looked at Brainy before gently brushing some of his hair away from his face. Before a small appeared on her lips. "We are sorting things out. We are good though."

"I'll let you rest Brainy. Get well." Seeing Brainy and Nia together again made him hopeful that he could be with Kara. Still, that was a different situation, he shouldn't be with her. He had to protect her and if giving her up meant that then he had to do so.

"I'll see you soon, my friend." Brainy smiled before Leo disconnected the feed. He stood up stretching his arms above his head before he walked out of his lab and headed to the training room. When Leo arrived however Diggle wasn't there but instead, it was the Princess. "Diana? Where's Diggle?"

Diana stood there a training sword in her one hand as she explained. "John said he was going to visit his family. It's been rather quiet from Leviathan so he took the opportunity. If anything comes up we can contact him. He said that he was training you to fight, I can spar with you."

Leo nodded, "Oh…" He shifted in his stance. Sparring with Diana? His eyes focused on her warrior garb and armor she was in and he knew he didn't have a chance of winning. Diggle kicked his ass and he wasn't well he wasn't an Amazon Warrior.

"I'll be gentle. Don't worry, I won't hurt you…" Diana winked. "Not much anyways." She tossed him a second wooden training sword and Leo easily caught it.

"Well… how can I refuse when you put it so elegantly." He raised the wooden weapon before he made his first strike. Diana blocked the strike easily.

Diana clearly showed her experience as they sparred. She blocked each attack easily and didn't hold back from making him regret his mistakes by landing a firm blow against him. Enough to sting but leave him standing.

Leo swung his weapon and after Diana blocked the strike she easily twisted her weapon around his own and before he knew it she had flung his wooden sword out of his hands. The weapon flew off to the side and Leo blinked in surprise. "Not bad, you have potential."

Leo clicked his tongue. "Do I?" He went to retrieve his sword.

"Why do you want to learn how to fight?"

As Leo grasped the handle of the sword and looked down at the weapon. "I've been in more dangerous situations than I'd like. I've always focused on my using my head to get out of those. Learning to fight is just another preventative measure." He walked toward her and rubbed his side where she had struck him. He'd probably bruise but at least he was learning. "You know I could really use some banana pancakes right about now."

"Banana pancakes?"

Leo raised two fingers. "I have two weaknesses when it comes to food, donuts and banana pancakes. You see when I was younger I got sent to boarding school and there was this diner in the nearby town. The food was unlike anything I've had, you see I was used to healthy and expensive meals when I was with the Luthors. But the food a the diner was well comforting and very filling. Banana pancakes well I wish I had someone to make those for me. I never really got those memories."

"I might just have to try some in the future." Diana smiled.

"How long have you been training?"

"I learned how to fight when I was a little girl. My aunt taught me. My mother didn't approve but I always wanted to learn how to be a warrior like the other Amazons."

"Why didn't your mother approve?" Leo was always curious about Diana and her past and anything she shared. She seemed so confident and fierce, how'd she get the way she was?

"She wanted to protect me. She knew that if I set out on that path that I would be putting my life in danger."

"What about your father?"

"My father is Zeus. I never met him and my mother raised me."

"Oh, huh."

"Yes." Diana found his reaction humorous, she had thrown everything he thought he knew about the world out in mere moments.

"You must miss your mother. Do you see her often?"

Diana frowned and Leo saw a look that looked all too familiar. When he'd lost his mother he remembered how hollow he'd felt. The pain behind Diana's eyes and Leo was concerned that he'd stumbled upon a sensitive subject. "I miss her very much. I can't go back home."

"What do you mean?"

Diana sighed deeply, "When I left the Themyscira its location vanished from my mind. I cannot remember how to return home."

"I'm so sorry... I had no idea."

"Thank you. Its location is to be secret from the world of men. I knew the risks when I left." Still knowing even knowing the risks that did not mask the pain that she'd never see her mother again.

"Why did you leave?"

"A man crashed onto the Themyscira. I went with him to help with the war. I sought out Ares. I thought that once I destroyed Ares the war would immediately end. Everyone is imperfect, you need to look beyond their imperfections and see what makes humans worth fighting for. People can be capable of so much pain and hate but they also have the capacity for love, for compassion. I've met some brave men and women along the way. Ones that I've been honored to call friends. I'm glad to have met you, Leo." Diana had certainly lived a life of a warrior but despite this fact, Leo had never seen or heard of her before this moment. Had she been working in the shadows all this time?

"I don't think I live up to any special praise. I... just don't want to be defined by my family."

"Why are you up here in space Leo? Are you running from something?" Diana raised an eyebrow, "Or someone?"

"I made some choices that I now regret... I ended up hurting the people I care about. I was forgiven but... I got the feeling that I still hadn't earned the trust of some." Namely, Alex, she judged him the hardest. Alex was very protective over Kara and Alex wasn't going to let Leo slide on by like nothing happened. If he'd hurt Kara again he was sure Alex would kill him. "I don't think I'm the best ally for you Diana."

"I know all I need to know about you, Leo. I've seen what's in your heart, I would not want another ally. I'll keep you, flaws and all. We are partners."

Leo had taken Diana to Luthor Corp and he led the way walking along the hall she questioned, "What did you want to show me?"

"well..." Leo began as he led Diana into his office. He stood in front of his desk and on the desk was a briefcase. "Open it."

Diana curiously raised an eyebrow. "Are you getting me presents now?" She flicked the locks on the briefcase and slowly opened the case to reveal a photograph. A very old photograph that pictured herself along with her fellow companions. Those men were long gone but her eyes focused on one man, in particular, Steve. It was comforting just to see his face again. "Thank you... I never thought I'd see this again."

"My brother found this photograph of you and with his resources he wanted to draw you out. Find out why you looked so young. You deserve to have this." Lex was always interested in unique finds like Diana or even the Supers.

"This was a very long time ago. Another time of my life..." She gently rested her finger against the glass covering the photograph. "This is Steve, he was the one who crashed landed onto my home."

"He was important to you? Wasn't he?"

"I loved him, he was a good man."

It was then that Sam entered into the office a thick folder tucked under her arm. "Oh, Leo! Diana! I didn't know you were here. There isn't a problem is there?"

"Oh no, Levithian has been very quiet. I just brought Diana to Luthor Corp to return something to her." Diana shut the briefcase then.

Sam smiled at both of them. "Good, oh since your here we can discuss the Luthor Expo."

"Right the Expo..." It was a large event where they showcased technology being developed under his organization as well as inviting other companies to the event.

"Did you talk with Kara about making an appearance?"

"I did not. I've been focused on trying to find Leviathan, I haven't asked Kara if she wanted to come to the Expo. Do you really need me there?" Leo sighed more like asking Kara to make an appearance as Supergirl as was something he'd rather avoid. He hadn't spoken to Kara in months and going to her just to ask her if she'd make an appearance as Supergirl seemed in bad taste.

"Leo! You have to make an appearance! Your the head of the DEO and the CEO of Luthor Corp. I'll ask Kara if she's going to attend the Expo. Are you going to have a plus one?"

"Yes, he is. I'll go with him."

Leo and Sam both turned to Diana. "You want to go?" Leo cleared his throat, Diana had caught him completely off guard with her statement.

"Well, it sounds interesting. I haven't seen much of National City and you won't have to be alone." Diana explained as a matter of fact.

"Good that's settled then." Sam spoke up before Leo had a chance to reply. It was a little surprising that Diana had offered to come. Leo hadn't thought she was interested in Luthor Corp business. He'd learned about some of her past and childhood but that was about it.

"We will lock out the finner details on the Expo later, Sam."

"I will video chat with you later today." Sam smiled at least Leo wouldn't be alone but that still left Kara and she'd have to talk her into coming.

As Leo and Diana exited out of Leo's office and he led her toward the elevator Diana asked. "Who's Kara?"

"Kara, well... Kara is..." Leo searched for the best term to describe Kara.

"Is she someone important to you?"

"Well she was... we are just friends. She's a reporter for CatCo magazine. I'm lucky to have a friend like her. We make a good team and even though we shouldn't be friends because our families do not get along somehow we became the exception." She was a good person and she was important to him.

"She sounds like she's a good person much like my Steve Trevor." She pressed the button to the elevator and after a few moments, the doors opened. "Is this Expo formal?"

"Yes, there will be food and many people there. One's I'll have to shake hands with and smile."

"Dancing?"

"well yes, and we will showcase different technology." He tilted his head slightly, "Do you really want to go?"

"It will be nice to have some fun and I think we could both use the company. While I did enjoy beating you during our sparring sessions I think we need a little fun."

Leo was dressed in a black suit and tie. He straightened his tie and smoothed his back his hair before he exited his room and headed down the hall. He waited in the control room for Diana. He was looking down at the floor as he leaned back against the computer console. He only looked up as he heard Diana's footsteps, the click of heels against the metal floors.

Diana was dressed in a backless red dress. Her dress cut in a v-shape just below her neck leaving just enough cleavage for Leo to lose his words entirely. Leo's mouth fell open as he was blessed with the sight of the strong beautiful woman before him. "I'm ready. You weren't waiting too long were you?"

Leo cleared his throat. "No, not long. You look beautiful, Diana."

"Thank you. You look handsome." She smiled as Leo straightened and he gave Diana a smile. She gently hooked her arm around his. "You owe me a dance before the night is through."

"I can accommodate a dance." Leo slid his hand over to his wrist and after pressing a button on his wrist they both were teleported down to earth.

They arrived at the Luthor Expo which was abuzz with many people. There was a great deal of excitement in the air but it was clear this was a gathering for the wealthy. Leo smiled politely as he entered the main room with Diana hooked on his arm.

Sam spotted him and waved him over. She already she had a glass of champagne in her hand and she smiled at Leo and Diana. She was dressed in a simple black dress. "Leo." Sam greeted with a nod of her head. "Diana, it's nice to see you again." Sam's greeting to Diana was more joyful than to Leo. She didn't mind seeing the Princess and rather enjoyed having her around. "So everything is ready but we do have a few government officials here…"

"We do? Who?" Leo casually glanced around.

"10 o'clock." Sam replied before taking a sip of her champagne. Leo's gaze shifted in the general direction and spotted a woman, she stood about 5'1, her dark hair was pulled back tightly. Just by her stance, Leo could see how firm and serious she seemed. She was dressed in a dark blue skirt and matching blazer with a white blouse and a string of pearls around her neck. Government official was written all over her but Leo recognized her.

"I've seen her before. Who is she?"

"Of course you've seen her before. That's Amanda Waller."

Leo gritted his teeth. "Shit..." Her reputation preceded her and thankfully Leo had not made her acquaintance. Well until tonight he was sure she'd approach him now, she couldn't find out about The Watchtower. If she knew he had a space station that wasn't intended for the government she'd come down on him hard. "Keep you know what quiet. That's the last thing I need."

"You won't be able to avoid her for long."

A waiter with champagne glasses hovered nearby and Leo and Diana each grabbed a glass. "Why is this woman a concern?"

"Well, she's nicknamed the Wall, she usually gets what she wants and she's good at her job." Leo shook his head before taking a drink from his glass. "She's got an iron fist when it comes to her job. You either do things her way or get burned." Well, he'll need some liquid courage for his speech tonight, to kick off the festivities. He already had his glass finished and he placed the empty glass on a tray that a passing waiter had. "Well let's get my speech over with shall we."

The CEO made his way up toward the platform in the front of the large room and after a few moments, the crowd was soon in silence. Leo flashed a smile. "Good evening everyone! I welcome you all to the Luthor Expo. This event was born with one goal in mind… making a difference. We all have the power to change things for our home and even if it's just a small deed that matters. We suffered a loss when the D.E.O headquarters was destroyed. It's easy to become hopeless, we retreat, we lose our strength. We lose ourselves…" As Leo's eyes scanned the faces of the audience his eyes rested upon a familiar face, Kara. She came and seeing her comforted him, she didn't have to come but she did. "Someone wise once told me to be your own hero. We don't need superpowers to do that. We all have that strength inside us. We can make a difference and I've seen that time and time again with what we've accomplished. So I invite you all to eat, drink, and enjoy the new technology the Luthor Expo has to offer." The audience began clapping as Leo stepped down from the platform and walked toward Diana and Sam.

Kara remembered those familiar words Leo spoke, she'd said them, well as Supergirl. One of her many hope speeches. Leo looked well, he seemed happy, was he happy without her? Without her and the super friends? Kara was dressed in a modest and simple light blue lace dress.

"Well, Leo certainly knows how to throw a party." Alex replied as she grabbed a glass of champagne. Her sister was wearing a tight dark blue dress and even though Kara told Alex she didn't have to come she insisted.

"You know you didn't have to come with me, Alex."

"Of course I did, I couldn't let you go to your ex's party alone even if it was just for work." She watched as Leo walked toward Sam and another woman. Alex and Kara had never met or seen this woman before but the way she smiled at Leo it was clear they knew each other. "Do you know who Leo is talking to?"

"No, maybe she's a business acquaintance?"

It was then that Diana took Leo's hand and pulled him out onto the dance floor, this Expo certainly had it all. "You promised me a dance after all." Diana wrapped her arms around Leo's shoulders and Leo rested his hands against Diana's hips as they slowly swayed to the music.

Leo swallowed thickly as he was close to Diana, he hadn't been this close to a woman. Well except when she was sparing with her and smacking him with the training sword. Diana was beautiful, and as she smiled at him her face lit up and her dark brown eyes twinkled. "Having fun?" He questioned.

"Very much so. You should have fun more and with someone special. You do too much brooding. You are always in your lab or training." Diana had found Leo attractive she was intent on making her interest known.

"I don't brood, besides I am a very busy man." Leo smirked lightly, "What's the look for?"

"You have nice eyes and I enjoy looking at them." He felt Diana lean forward and press her lips against his. Leo couldn't deny he enjoyed those soft warm lips against his own. The kiss was brief and the kiss was sweet. Diana had left Leo speechless.

When Kara saw Leo and Diana exchange a brief kiss she was frozen in shock. He'd moved on, well of course he could move on he had every right to if he so wished. "Well… that was unexpected."

"Yes, I didn't know Leo was seeing anyone. Well, not just anyone, she's beautiful." Alex admitted and the shock that Leo had moved on from Kara was still very fresh.

"Well, she's not that beautiful." Kara crossed her arms.

Alex gave a nod, "Hummm your right…" Kara smiled as Alex was agreeing with her or so she thought. She didn't expect the next words out of her sister's mouth. "She's gorgeous."

Kara huffed, "Alex!"

"I'm sorry, Kara but it's true." Alex raised her hand. "I know, I know, you're jealous."

Kara shook her head. "I'm not jealous." Alex gave her a look, the yeah sure you're not. "Not much…" Kara clicked her tongue trying to control her emotions. "Well if he's happy I'm happy."

"Now, you're just fooling yourself." As the words exited Alex's mouth all hell began to ensue. People began to scream as various creatures appeared they seemed to be constructed of some type of energy. They were small flying dragons about the size of a small dog with sharp teeth and claws. There were also what Alex could only describe as humans with only an enormous mouth. The teeth were sharp and they were attempting to harm people. "What the hell are these things?"

Kara rushed out of the main area to change into Supergirl she was back within moments as she landed on the floor she sent an uppercut punch. Her fist landed perfectly into one of the humanoid creatures sending it flying backward and falling into a few of the other creatures. Alex only had the Martian weapon in hand and easily transformed it into a gun. She came behind Kara shooting one in the head and then landed a kick squarely in the chest of another.

"Mr. Luthor! Wonderful party!" The Whaler called as he was perched on the second floor of the building. A pipe was sticking out of his mouth and he began to wave his hands through the air the swirling the energy in his hands before he clapped them together and snakes appeared on the ground.

Leo narrowed his eyes up toward the Whaler. "I'll go get him. You help Supergirl with getting the guests out." Diana removed from under her dress the lasso, she had kept it wrapped around her leg just in case she'd need it.

"Let me at least clear the way to the stairs for you." She began to spin the lasso around and snapped the lasso around her striking any creatures around them. She grabbed one of the dragons and began to spin the creature around before she released it tossing it like a cannonball into other creatures.

As Diana cleared the way Leo made his way up the stairs going up the back stairwell. It was then that he had heard it, the singing. He stopped midway up the stairs his hands gripping the side of his head. "No." His eyes clamped shut. Who was making that sound? All he could hear was the ringing of that voice in his head. He pushed onward but instead of heading out toward the Whaler, Leo continued up the stairs. The voice led him up higher and higher until he reached the top and exited onto the roof.

He saw the woman from his dreams or perhaps they weren't dreams at all. Her long raven hair was all he could see, "Who are you? What do you want?"

She turned slowly before her eyes fixed onto Leo's face. "I want to see you, Leo." Her voice was soft and as Leo saw her face he turned white.

"No…. No! I don't know who the hell you are but you have no right to look like her!" He snapped and as she took a step forward he took a step back. He extended his hand out toward her. "Don't! Don't you take another step toward me! You died! You're dead! This is some sick and twisted trick!"

"Leo, my sweet boy. It's no trick. I'm so, sorry I couldn't see you sooner but there is much you do not know and I have much to tell you." His mother smiled at him, his real mother. "You're no longer a boy though. You're all grown up, you're such a good man."

The voice the way she looked though, she looked young. She looked exactly the way he remembered her, how was that possible. "You look exactly the same! That's not possible."

"Like I said there is much I need to tell you and so very little time to explain it." His mother whispered something Leo did not catch and before he knew it all he could see was the field that they used to go to near their summer home.

Leo clamped his eyes shut. "Get out of my head! This! This isn't real!"

"I had to leave you all those years ago. My duties and my loyalty toward Leviathan toward my people demanded it. I wished I didn't have to but it was better for you to think I was dead than to live with the fact that I had to leave you alone."

"You left me alone with the Luthors! I just needed my mother! It's too late now, I don't need you in my life anymore!" Leo opened his eyes as his mind was in this world his mother made up for them both. "What about the people you're attacking? What about all those lives Leviathan wanted to remove? You expect me to believe that was a good decision? That my mother left to have people assassinated?"

"Sometimes we need to make difficult decisions for the good of the many. Leviathan has kept the world under control, if not for Leviathan's efforts this world will become overpopulated. Those assassinated weren't saints and they needed to be dealt with. You've seen people abuse power, humans always abused and control one another, we are just managing the world from the shadows."

Leo scoffed. "Yes, I'll admit there is corruption in the world but it's not your place to become gods over humankind."

"If we don't, someone else will and while things aren't perfect with what we do we are just doing the best we can with the situation. I've seen Jarhanpur succumb to the same mistakes. I've seen what happened on Krypton, their foolishness was their downfall. When we escaped from home we vowed to change things on the next planet we called home. I want you by my side, Leo. You are my only son, I love you. Come with me."

I love you, Leo hadn't heard those words in so long but was this real? Was this woman truly his mother, she was exactly as he remembered her. He wanted her in his life but she seemed to want different things. Was this all a trick? There were so many reasons he should ignore this but part of him felt a connection to her. Before he could reply he felt something wrap around his torso and then he was yanked backward. The lasso pulling him out of the fake reality and bringing him back into the real world.

He had been hoisted over the shoulder of a very large pale-skinned man. When had that happened? He landed into Diana's awaiting arms the lasso around his chest. Had she not intervened they would have taken Leo with them. His mother took one last look at Leo before she raised her hands and a thick fog surrounded the area and moment later the air cleared and Leo and Diana were left on the roof alone. Levithan had vanished, with no trace. "Are you alright? Who was that?"

"I'm alright… she said she was my mother." Was that really her? It was then that he had realized he was missing the device to teleport them back up to The Watchtower. "Diana! It's gone! The teleporter is gone, they took it." He gritted his teeth, how could he have been so foolish? Now they were going to get their hands on the container he had been hiding from them.

After a call to Diggle they had found their way back up onto The Watchtower and sure enough, the container was gone. Leo had retreated to be alone in the space station taking refuge at the very top of the station where the radar was located. He was sitting leaned against the bulkhead his eyes glued on the planet below. "You shouldn't be alone." Diana's voice rang clear and Leo let out a grumble before his eyes focused on Diana. She was out of her dress and in some casual clothes. Jeans and a long comfortable sweater. She had a plate that was piled high with pancakes, topped with bananas, toasted pecans, and maple syrup. She sat beside him and slowly took a bite of the banana pancakes. She let out a happy moan, "That's really good."

Leo took the fork from her. "I told you." He cut into the pancakes and took a bite and let out a contented sigh.

"What's on your mind?"

"I thought I knew who my mother was but maybe I don't really know who she is at all." Leo began he was unsure of this, were both his parents evil all along?

"You don't know if she is your mother either. Either way, she is your mother and I know you do care for her. There is much we don't know but I need you by side if we are going to stop them. Whatever they are planning it can't be good. The lengths they've gone to, by hurting innocent people tonight. That was unnecessary, bloodshed." Diana gently took Leo's free hand and squeezed it.

"I know, we need to stop them. We'll do it together. Thank you, you didn't have to make me pancakes." Leo smiled.

"I think I did, we are partners. I wanted to try and make you feel better. Did it work?" Diana took the fork back from Leo and took another bite.

"It did." He reached for the fork again. "Oh, leave me some bananas, Diana." He had to focus on what he knew and then if she really did turn out to be his mother, they would handle that together.
