A/N: I know that vampires in HP world are more like the myths but I'm going to make them more like the vampires in Twilight. They don't sparkle and Severus Harry have fangs. Slightly longer and sharper than regular teeth. Garlic doesn't bother them and they're not quite as invulnerable as Twilight vampires. Other than those differences they're the same as the twilight ones.
Harry and Severus were settling into their home and taking their time to make it comfortable. The inside matched the outside in it's beautiful. The log cab had such a homey feeling and it was amazing. Severus, of course, had already went to his potions lab and had been stuck there for a whole 4 hours. Hary rolled his eyes probably for the 5th time that day. They should probably go into town and show their faces. If they did, they can blend in better. Thanks to glamours and charms, they can stay in one place for at least 3o years. One thing Harry had to get used to were his eyes. It was a bit devastating to lose something of his parents. His green eyes were gone in his turning. Now they were black. It didn't make much of a difference with Severus because his eyes were already onyx black. It was amusing however when people thought them as father and son. It definitely made things easier when moving around.
He could glamour them, but why? He had to get used to them and he actually quite liked them. The fangs were a bit much but he is a vampire. Harry went downstairs and knocked on the door. "Severus lets go! I want to go into town and look around."
"You know better than to yell you brat," Severus sneered, but it wasn't meant to be harsh. He in fact did tell Harry not to yell because it can disturb the potions. He just didn't listen.
Harry was already running up the stairs. Together they only have 1 car. It's mostly just for show as they can apparate or run. Harry got into the passenger seat because there isn't a chance Severus would ever let him drive. The last time he tried, he was sneered at and had gotten very dramatic reaction to some light turning.
Severus came out the house and went straight to the drivers side. The drive there was filled with silence. There were so many trees and the town looked quite small. Harry wouldn't be surprised if this place was crawling with vampires. It's genuinely the perfect city. "Hmm I get the feeling that this place isn't going to be as quiet as our previous one."
Ignoring the look he was given, he pointed to a diner. "Let's go there."
People were already starting to whisper about them. They must not get new people often if they can already tell they were new. Harry sighed. "Yup. Definitely not going to be quiet."
They pulled into the small diner and immediately Harry felt a tug. He inhaled sharply. He saw a couple and had a moment of despair when he thought the man was his mate. No, that wasn't his mate. And that's when he saw the most beautiful man he's ever seen. He seemed to be over 6'0 and had honey blonde hair that fell above his collar. The man also seemed to notice him and if Harry could blush, he would've.
"Mate," Harry whispered. Severus had heard him and immediately looked to where his mate stood.
Severus nudged Harry to a table. "That's a vampire. A muggle one by the looks of it," Severus sneered. He never got over his hatred for humans and neither has Harry. Not after what they did.
Harry had trouble taking his eyes off of his mate. He couldn't believe he finally found him. It seems like all of the painful memories and loneliness was worth it. It's like a weight has been lifted and it was such a euphoric feeling. His mate walked towards him and he shifted in his seat nervously.
"Calm down Harry, your magic is starting to act up," Severus hissed. Harry glanced at the table and there were silverware starting to levitate. He immediately began to calm himself. The last thing he wanted was to be exposed to humans again. There was no way his mate didn't see or hear it and knew there would be questions.
His mate walked up and Harry was immediately drawn in my his eyes. Why were they that color if he was a vampire? "May I sit here?"
Harry was about to agree, but Severus had beaten him to it. "You could introduce yourself first," he drawled. Harry groaned and thunked his head on the table.
His mate chuckled and it sent shivers down his spine. "I'm Jasper. Jasper Cullen."
Harry smiled. "I'm Harry and this is my dad, Severus." His mate, Jasper, had raised an eyebrow, but I motioned to the people listening in.
"It's nice to meet you both. Do you mind if I show you around?"
Harry glanced to Severus who nodded. "That would be great! We haven't ordered yet but why don't we go now? I'm too excited to eat."
All three of them had stood up and walked towards the door. Harry did notice that the couple from a bit ago were following. He immediately got defensive and made sure his wand was hidden in his sleeve. Once they were by the jeep and out of earshot, the girl demanded to tell her who they were.
Severus just raised an eyebrow and looked to Jasper. "Do you have a coven leader?"
The girl seemed to be offended, but was ignored. "Yes shall I take you to him?"
Severus nodded. Harry however was nervous. What if they decide they couldn't stay? What if they tried to keep Jasper away from him? Jasper then grabbed his hand and Harry had to hold in a gasp at the feel of his cold hands. "Don't worry, everything will be alright."
How did he know what I was feeling or thinking? Harry brushed it off and nodded. Jasper got into the car with the couple and they turned to their own vehicle. "Was that the smart move Severus? We will be outnumbered if we are attacked."
He nodded. "This is technically their territory. They will have a say in who stays here. It's best if we do this now so that we don't actually get attacked later."
"What if they don't allow us to stay? What about my mate? i just found him and I don't want to lose him," Harry confessed. That was his biggest fear. He didn't want to lose his mate right after they mate. He may not love him yet, but he's already important to him.
The car in front of them stopped in front of a beautiful house. He also heard the coven coming out of it and braced himself. He heard them asking why we are there and why are there vampires here. This should be an interesting conversation. They came to a stop and swiftly got out the car.
There were 8 of them in total, including his mate and the human girl. They were all beautiful and obviously vampires. The one trait all of the vampires seem to have in common is their golden eyes. Weird.
A tall blonde man who looked kind stepped forward. "We weren't expecting others like us here. Please, come inside. We would like to talk to you."
Harry nodded and smiled when his mate walked next to him. He felt like there was so much to say but didn't have the time. They were led to a living room and Harry was too nervous to admire its beauty. He and Severus sat on the couch opposite of the leader and what looks to be his mate. The first thing out of the leaders mouth wasn't what he expected.
"You're welcome to stay here, but we ask that you don't hunt humans anywhere near here," he said. Both him and Severus shared confused looks.
Harry leaned forward. "What do you expect us to live on then?"
That caught the vampires by surprise and he heard them hiss in shock. Well the vampire and his human mate did. "We feed on the animals here. We aren't monsters."
"Monsters? That's what you think of yourselves? We're vampires. We're meant to feed on humans. That's how we live and not merely survive. How can you feed on the animals? Don't you feel weak?" Harry demanded.
The leader was the one to speak up next. "We want to keep our humanity and it isn't right to feed on humans."
"Not right to feed on humans? We are vampires, we are meant to feed on humans. And when you feed on them, the period between feeds is longer. Since you feed on animals you need to hunt more. Not only that, but it weakens you enough to where you;d be vulnerable. And who cares about the humans? They're food," Harry sneered. Looking so identical to Severus that the others wondered if they were really father and son.
The human girl seemed offended once again. "Who are you to say demeaning things about humans? They feed on animals because it's the right thing to do."
Harry merely glanced at her and looked away. He didn't want to deal with her. "Humans took everything from us and we spare no more sympathy for them."
Severus and Jasper had glanced at him in concern. Severus because he knows how their past affected him. Harry found it too painful to talk about those they lost. However, Jasper felt his emotions and began to push some calm into him.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Jasper said softly. Harry smiled, but smiled sadly. He knew that if he wanted them to trust him they were going to have to share their past.
"We lived in a magical community—" he was cut off by questions about magic. "Do you not know about magic?"
The blonde beautiful vampire was the one to scoff. "There's no such thing as magic."
"Then there's no such thing as vampires,' Harry snapped. 'About 200 years ago, we had just fought a war. We had already lost so many that we cared about. All for the sake of blood. We fought those who believed that humans and half human half witches were below us. Then a week after the war was over, muggles or humans had found out about us. More importantly, the hunters. They had found where our families lived and killed them. They stormed into my adopted mothers house and killed everyone inside. They used guns that penetrated through our barriers. They murdered even the children."
Harry had to stop speaking. Even though he couldn't cry, he couldn't help the grief that choked him. "My godsons was only a few weeks old and they killed him to. So don't ask us again why we have no respect for human life. They surely don't respect us."
He knew that they were all horrified by what he said. The pretty blonde looked absolutely livid and even looked sympathetic towards him. Harry wished he didn't have to share that information, but felt it was needed. He needed his mate's family to understand. "If you don't want us feeding here, we will travel elsewhere. We really only need to feed once a month, even going 3 months without feeding."
The big, burly vampire leaned towards them almost excitedly. "It sustains you for that long?"
Harry smiled. "Yes it does. It helps that we can eat human food to. One of the perks of being a wizard and a vampire."
Everything seemed to settle in that moment and the atmosphere seemed to calm down. "Um what exactly are your names?"
They all looked stunned and embarrassed. The leader smiled and introduced himself and his coven. When he got to the human girl, Harry was confused. Did he just introduce her as Edward's mate?
It was Severus who spoke up this time. "That human girl isn't his mate. And now she knows of our existence. It will be less painful if you kill her now before you find out she's not who you're meant to be with."
Harry had jumped in front of Severus snarling, with his fangs on display. Edward had jumped to attack Severus. "Don't you dare attack him."
"He threatened Bella," he snarled angrily.
"No he didn't. He just told you that she wasn't your mate and spoke the truth. Now that I can actually smell her, I could do it quickly. Her blood is tainted anyway," Harry mocked Edward. That seemed to be enough for him because Harry was thrown into the wall, leaving a hole. Before Harry could attack, he was grabbed by his mate. He immediately settled down. There was no way he would ever harm Jasper. Not even in a rage.
Jasper held his arms around Harry. "What do you mean she's tainted?"
"You mean you can't smell it?" Harry asked confused. His anger momentarily forgotten by the fact that they can't smell it on her. Can't smell the death on her hands.
Alice, who had been watching was confused. She hadn't seen anything about it. "Smell what? I never saw anything in my visions that could point to her being tainted."
Bella, who had shrunk against the wall, had whimpered when she saw Harry smile at her. She knew right then and there her secret was going to come out. She tried so hard to keep it from this family and now he's going to expose her. She had to do something.
Jasper could feel the panic coming from Bella and caught the silver knife that had been racing towards his mates heart. How did Bella throw that? Where did she even get it in the first place.
Severus was beside Harry in a second baring his fangs at the girl. "You do know the price of hurting him is right? Do you even know who he is?"
Bella regained her confidence and stood by the door. "I know enough."
Both wizards laughed. It wasn't a particularly nice laugh, but it was enough to scare Bella. "I'm Harry Potter."
All of the vampires were confused and alarmed by Bella's fear. It was written on her face and in her body language. "You know me don't you? I guess your family taught you to either avoid me or kill me."
Now everyone was even more confused. What did Charlie have to do with this? Rosalie seemed to have enough of the back and forth. "What are you talking about? Who is she?"
"She's an Argent."
