Shikaoi stared at the flowers on the nightstand next to him that Ino and her father had brought him.

"Gerbera daisies mean get well soon," Ino informed the younger boy, "so, you have to get well soon."

He still couldn't figure out why he would have resorted to... to doing what he did.

The young Nara was still being held under observation after the "incident," as Shikaoi liked to refer to it as —at least in the privacy of his own mind.

Shikaoi has heard the nurses discussing a massacre that left his classmate —Uchiha, Sasuke— as the last of his clan. Shikaoi can't imagine what the other boy was going through and he couldn't help, but feel guilty for not doing anything to stop it.

The dreams Shikaoi kept having were proving to be real and Shikaoi was worried that maybe he is losing his mind, because there is no explanation for having dreams that come true, not even a kekkai genkai.

Even if it were a blood limit, why him? Shikaoi is a Nara and Nara aren't exactly known for being able to predict the future to such an extent. Shikaoi could only hope he would get more of a warning next time something of that magnitude happens.

Shikaoi wanted to make it up to Sasuke. Maybe become his friend, but the other boy didn't seem to do friendships and if Shikaoi's predictions were correct, then the Last Uchiha is at the centre of A big plot that starts with his need for revenge.

Shikaoi needs to find another purpose for the other boy, so he doesn't get lost is the shadows and that starts with planting doubt that will prove the innocence of one Itachi Uchiha, false traitor of the Leaf and older brother to Sasuke Uchiha.

Shikaoi slowly eased himself off the bed, while grabbing a daisy from the vase. He made his way down the hall towards where he heard that the Uchiha's room was located.

The young Nara stuck to the shadows and snuck into Sasuke's room. He found the boy staring at a nearby wall despondently. Eyes bloodshot and hair unkempt.

"Hello Sasuke-kun," Shikaoi greeted the other boy didn't even bother to look up, or even blink at his entrance.

The younger boy huffed, placing the flower on Sasuke's lap.

The boy blinked and slowly turned his gaze towards Shikaoi, before returning it to the wall. Sasuke didn't say anything. Probably was hoping that the younger would leave and that he would wake up and find out it was all a nightmare, and his Nii-san didn't really...

'Wow, and I'm the antisocial one?Troublesome,' Shikaoi thought to him self, but he understood that the other child wasn't trying to be rude. Sasuke was grieving and if left unchecked that grief would become hatred and he couldn't let that happen.

Shikaoi looked around the room and found that they didn't even include a visitor's chair. Most likely they didn't expect anyone to come see the kid after the "Hokage" checked in on him.

Shikaoi sat at the foot of Sasuke's bed, intentionally blocking the raven haired boy's line of sight. Effective grabbing his unwitting attention.

"I would like to lie and tell you that everything is going to be okay, but I'm not one for lying, nor making empty promises, but what I will say is that you will get stronger and it will get easier. The pain will never truly go away, but you will wake up one day and find that it hurts a little less than it does now," Shikaoi said.

"Why?" Sasuke asked.

Shikaoi was now privy to the broken gaze of the scared boy before him and found himself reaching over and pulling the kid into a hug and that's when the waterworks started.
