When Shikaoi awoke he was surprised to note that it appeared that Sasuke had unlocked his mangekyo. Shikaoi wasn't sure whether he should feel flattered or horrified that his apparent "death"was enough to fully unlock his friend's sharingan to the point of bloody tears (literally).
The next thing he noted was that Naruto's seal had weakened and he was currently using the tailed beast's chakra to pummel Gator's goons along side his Uchiha teammate. The two boys fought side by side flawlessly much to the villagers' (led by Inari) cheers.
It was even more surprising for Shikaoi to realize that Kakashi sensei and Zabuza simply sat back chatting amicably with each other while the two fought the hoards. The last thing he noticed was a very alive Haku removing the last senbon from the tender flesh of his neck causing the young Nara to shoot up from the suddenness of the pain.
"My apologies young Nara-san. I aimed to incapacitate you as you and your team stood against Zabuza-Sama's wishes; however, we are now on the same side as your teammates are now demonstrating," Haku explained. "Now that Gato has refused to pay and has been swiftly dealt with, Zabuza-Sama and I will soon take our leave. I believe it is time to alert your teammates of your survival perhaps it will curb their newfound bloodlust. You are quite lucky to have acquired such protective precious people," the ice user continued.
Shikaoi swallowed his mouth suddenly dry. How had Haku and Zabuza survived? What else would he change by simply existing? Shikaoi decided that if he were to fulfill his dream of insuring the safety and happiness of his "precious people" he would have to learn to adapt his plans on the fly with how things seemed to be going.
"Troublesome," he muttered under his breath.
"I'm sorry?" questioned Haku confused.
Shikaoi got up putting the goons under a mass genjutsu so that Sasuke and the Narutos could swiftly deal with the enemies.
Kakashi and Zabuza turned to the Nara eyebrows (or where Zabuza's eyebrows would be if he had any) raised. The two genin finished apprehending Gato's goons, and turned towards their third teammate.
"Shikaoi!" exclaimed Naruto a grin splitting his face as he jumped tackling the aforementioned boy in an exuberant hug.
Sasuke hned happily seeing that his friend was alive and hopefully still well given the wince that the Nara let out at the excited actions of the blonde ball of sunshine.
"Ma ma Naruto, you wouldn't want to worsen poor Shikaoi's condition," Kakashi sensei reminded his youngest genin getting up to pull the blonde off of the other boy who patted his teammates arm in an attempt to placate and reassure the crying blond.
Tazuna abruptly spoke up from where he stood next to his grandson, " I've got it I will call the bridge the Blue Naruto Flame Bridge."
"I think that sounds good grandpa, very hero like," Inari replied with an unrecognizable glimmer in his eye.
