As everyone was assigned their seats, Shikaoi was only half listening while Ibiki gave his intimidating pre-exam speech warning the chunin hopefuls against cheating, or in this case getting caught cheating.
As the first part of the exam began team seven prepared themselves to enact the plan they had for this portion. Naruto was meant to act nervous to draw attention away from his teammates, and Shikaoi made his move placing a slight genjutsu around himself and his teammates allowing for Sasuke to activate his Sharingan everyone else non the wiser.
Shikaoi redirected his genjutsu to cover up his usage of his clan's shadow techniques, connecting his shadow to his Uchiha teammate who had just begun to copy the chunin in disguise a couple of rows ahead of him.
Naruto must have been doing a great job acting, because a nervous Hinata had offered to allow him to cheat off him, causing the blonde to blush a bright Uzumaki red.
Sasuke subtly tapped his pencil against the desk the action mirrored by Shikaoi to alert the Nara that he was done copying the answers.
The Uchiha deactivated his Sharingan, and took control over Shikaoi's genjutsu to cover the shadow user's movements. Shikaoi detached his shadow from Sasuke's and when the genin sitting behind Naruto were caught cheating he used the commotion to connect his shadow to his blond teammate's quickly realigning Naruto's posture towards the blond's paper and tilting their heads as though contemplating the answers.
Shikaoi quickly began tracing his own answers in his paper causing the Uzumaki boy to mirror his own movements both pausing randomly as if considering the next question as to not draw suspicion.
Just as Shikaoi was finished retracing the answer to question nine he disconnected his shadow from Naruto's and Sasuke released the genjutsu.
The blond jinchuriki kept his grip on his pencil, so that he wouldn't accidentally drop it as he regained control over his movements.
Ibiki explained the stipulations for the tenth question; however, team seven decided not to interfere and just let things play out.
Many teams left, and just when things were starting to calm down after Ibiki had explained the tenth question, he was interrupted by the sound of shattering glass and the sudden appearance of one Anko Mitarashi.
