Chapter 5 : Second Pain
After Tuxedo Mask escaped from Taro and Venus, he brought her back to house. When they landed on the pavement, Tuxedo Mask gestured Usagi to get inside. Usagi has never thought Mamoru would be that overprotective, she knows, she knows! That Mamoru is Tuxedo Mask, he always be the only savior to save Usagi from Youma, Cardians, Daimons,Lemures and Phages , but he has never seen him so overprotective, overreacting towards anybody or anything all around himself, for the first time. Sometimes when Mamoru is not around, Usagi is free to go out by herself, but what she didn't notice is she being spotted on, regretted herself for hanging out with Taro. But , who would have thought he is sneaky? She has a lot of thoughts now, How can she deal with him in this situation?
As Tuxedo Mask closed the door, he quickly changed into his casual clothing in Usagi's bedroom. And he take down the stairs one by one, head straight right to the kitchen and gently poured a glass of warm water. Usagi noticed something was not right. After Mamoru gulped a mouthful of Warm water, he slammed the glass cup hard to the table , leaving a small crack on the bottom of the cup.
" Usako, let me ask you a question, I want you to speak to me honestly, don't even fucking lie to me one single word, understand?" Mamoru asked in a serious tone, his eyes are filled with fury and rage, with hidden fires, like a match near the wood, lightening a bit.
" Mamo-Chan, Why are you acting like a psycho? You have changed so much! I didn't even see you yell throughout these months, we have finish-" Usagi continued but was interrupted by Mamoru, he slammed the table a bit hard.
" Do you even like me, or in love with that Demon?" Mamoru glared at Usagi.
" Mamo-Chan, He is not a demon, haven't I told you before?" Usagi asked, also in a serious tone.
" His face is the one inside the Nightmare, he even kissed Nehelenia and Galaxia in front of me! You didn't even see the whole picture, he is the one that tortured you and hold his sword in front of you, Usako!" Mamoru yelled as he throws the glass to the ground completely, some glass fragments accidentally pierced Mamoru's hand, and bled a bit.
" Mamo-Chan! He invited me outside!" Usagi said as she gripped her fists , and swung them in the air.
" That means, You don't love me, right, Usako?" Mamoru said in a calm tone, but Usagi can tell he is hiding his anger.
" No, Mamo-Chan, I told you I loved you the most when we gave a kiss in the moonlight." Usagi's eyes watered after hearing this question.
" Do you want to cry? Find your boyfriend and lend him his shoulder for you to cry!" Mamoru yelled as he pushed her harder to the door.
" Mamo-Chan? Why? Does this means we are over?" Usagi's dam finally welled out.
" We are over, You said 'invited you outside', that means you are his boyfriend , why don't you tell me sooner and sort it out?" Mamoru scowled as he holds a broom and swept the glass fragments to the container.
" He's just a friend of mine, Mamo-Chan…." Usagi choked with sobs.
Mamoru knew he had overdone it last time, the moment when he said to Usagi he has no feelings to her anymore, he saw Usagi's lips turned up a smile, but her eyes are wavering and welled up with tears, he knew she is sad, but couldn't express clearly. He doesn't want to let her hurt the second time.
" Okay, Usagi, Let's just separate for a while, But don't call me." Mamoru said as he gently put the broom.
" You don't love me? Mamo-Chan?" Usagi cries hard.
" I said separate for a while, You still have your boyfriend, We can only recognise ourselves as friends." Mamoru said in a stern tone, but his voice is slightly soft, more calmer than before.
" Mamo-Chan, guess I'll leave." Usagi said as she gently closed the door, leaving Mamoru behind. Her tears are dripping bit by bit, one after an another on the pavement.
As the door closed, Mamoru then noticed something flowing from his eye. It was his tears that welled up his eyes when he is talking to Usagi.
" Tears? Why am I crying? I didn't even shed a single tear when I first broke up with her, saying that I have no feelings to her, but geez…." Mamoru thought as he wiped his tears with his sleeve. But his eyes suddenly welled up with tears once more, he has no time to wipe them, and let it freely fall from his cheeks.
" Maybe Usagi's right? That Taro is actually just a friend of her instead of a boyfriend? Why I have to do this at the beginning, now I make Usako cry the second time, this is all my fault, I have failed her a lot of times."
He never had thought he would shed tears when he said he would separate with her, he is so determined to say this destructive word to her, and regretted in a second. As the only child from the Chiba Family, his parents disciplined him to be strong and be brave to everything, no matter how worse, how tough, how difficult, how bad, how painful, or even traumatic to him, he needs to act like a man, he barely even cry when he was a young boy; now, he simply just wanted to cry; is it because of regret? Is it because of Usagi? Is it because of all the painful memories in the past? He has no idea also. Then wrapped himself and cried silently in his knees, as he focused his eyes on top of the shelf at the picture of Usagi, Chibiusa and himself together. His tears dripped on the photo , bit by bit, and eventually hugged the picture , drifted to the bed, closed his eyes with small teardrops.
"Taro? You awake?" Ultra Father, The father of Ultraman Taro, spoke.
" Dad? Mom?" Taro gently opened his eyes and looked to his parents.
" Oh, Taro, You're awake!" Ultra Mother hugged her son tightly.
" Taro san!" Venus hugged her boyfriend also.
After they hugged each other for a while, Ultra Father spoke.
" What happened to your abdomen, are you involved in a fight against a Kaiju or an alien?"
" No. Father, there is no kaiju or alien, is like a fight against a human." Taro gently raised himself up from the bed as he spoke.
" Then why are you hurt so badly?" Ultra mother asked.
" I have a fight with Mamoru, known as Tuxedo Mask. He is way too powerful, and has a sickle, attached from his Baton, I'm just trying to tell him the truth! Why he needs to be so aggressive? I didn't even hit him, or even say some bad things to him!" Taro yelled as he thumped the bed hard.
" Taro, You did hit him, didn't you? You fired a beam to him." Jack recalled.
" Yes…." Taro fiddled his fingers.
" Jack san, don't tell your parents about this! " Mercury bumped Jack's arm gently.
" Don't you think it's better if you tell your parents of your difficulties? Better than you hold it inside for a long time. Just like your mother." Jack gently pat Mercury's shoulder.
" I wanted my parents to reunite one day…." Mercury sighed.
" It's ok, I'm here, Ami." Jack soothed her as he rubbed her hair.
" So, My son, you tell me you wanted to speak to Mamoru, but he can't control himself?" Ultra Father asked as he puts his fingers under his chin.
" Yes." Taro nodded.
" I wonder What are Mamoru and Usagi doing now?" Venus wondered.
Usagi is running everywhere, she is running street by street, suburb by suburb, building by building, almost loses her consciousness in front of her, " I should have just walk…." Usagi thought as she called herself to stay awake even though how exhausted she was. But her eyelids are keep telling her to close, at last, a few minutes later, she finally lost her consciousness and fainted in the pavement.
" Usagi… Usagi, Usagi!" Some voices wavered around her brain, her memories reappeared in a small flash, the moment when she was killed by Sailor Galaxia. She doesn't know what to do, even Ultraman and Ultraseven were shocked to see the scene, Seiya was crying so hard, they don't know what to do, especially Ultraman and Ultraseven, they wanted to help her , but they know their reviving powers cannot work to humans, even themselves are animated. Usagi is hopeless once more, the last time she was hopeless is in North Pole, when her friends are killed one after another , until her spirits came to sooth her, including Taro , he also soothed her to be strong; after she defeated Queen Beryl, of course ,her friends Spirits also helped her, but she died. However, the silver crystal shined , even shined the whole North Pole, her friends also disappeared in a flash.
" Am I dead? Are my friends dead? Where is Mamo-Chan? Did I defeat Queen Beryl?" Usagi thought as she opened her eyes, but she find herself awoke from her house, she is still in her Pajamas. Walking sleepily to the bathroom, she give a look on the mirror, the mirror shown the reflection of herself, if the reflection didn't show herself, that means she is just a spirit. But when she pinched her cheek with her fingers, she felt pain; that means: She defeated Queen Beryl! She felt happy. But the second time, which Galaxia herself been manipulated by Chaos, she is killed by Galaxia's sword, she lied down motionless, her eyes are hallow; she failed her friends once again, this time, the silver crystal didn't appear, she cannot be revived the second time , until Chibi Chibi transformed a star seed, she basically saved Usagi , and transformed to Princess Serenity once again.
She always have the same thought, every time when she is unconscious ; until a familiar voice is heard, it is Motoki, Naru and Umino, they are sitting besides her.
" Usagi! You alright?" Naru asked, as she gripped both of her hands.
Usagi finds out she is inside Motoki's house.
" Naru Chan, where is Mamo-Chan?" Usagi asked, as her voice wavered.
" Mamoru san? I'm sorry, I don't know where he is." Naru apologised.
" Me neither, Mamoru has gone missing, I tried to contact him, but he still didn't reply me." Motoki said as he checked his phone, the contact list shown about 10 times missed call to Mamoru.
" Is he safe? Is he fine? Shall I call the police?" Usagi shrugged as she about to bolt out of her bed, attempt to rush downstairs. But a sudden grip stopped her.
" Usagi! I don't think Mamoru is gone, maybe he is in his house?" Umino wondered.
" I even called his house for a few minutes , no one replied." Motoki said.
" We saw you unconscious , so we brought you to Motoki's house." Naru said.
" Mamo-Chan hates me now, he broke up with me the second time, this is the second breakup, how can I even stand his assertiveness and stubbornness?! I shouldn't have asked Taro san to be with me." Usagi scowled as she crossed her arms, pouted.
" Maybe Mamoru needs to calm down, Usagi? Remember you told me to be strong, when my love Nephrite died in front of me, I told the school to spend a few days off to calm myself, and forget about everything happened at that night." Naru recalled, as she lands a hand to Usagi's shoulder.
" Maybe he is reflecting himself for yesterday's rant and tantrum?" Umino said.
" I'm not sure, Umino, but Mamoru knows what is wrong and right through these years, I'm sure he knows." Motoki said with confidence as he pat Umino's shoulder.
" I told about Taro, that I say he invited me outside, and we have a fight this morning, he is so angry that he slammed my only glass cup. I can see his eyes have hidden fires." Usagi's eyes are watering as she spoke.
" Wait, Usagi. Did you say 'invited'?" Naru asked.
" Yes, Why?" Usagi feels dumbfounded after hearing Naru's question.
" Why you need to say this word?! You know Mamoru has never met Taro." Motoki shrugged as he gently bumped Usagi's arm.
" But, he did invite me! Motoki san!" Usagi cries as her tears dripped a bit to the blanket.
" That's the problem! Usagi Chan! Mamoru is already in a bad mood, and the word 'invited' can make someone angry ." Naru said.
" You have a problem, Usagi, is that you don't hear before you speak." Umino said.
" Wouldn't it be better if you first listen what Mamoru said, and you use a calm tone?" Motoki asked.
" But I'm scared that Mamo-Chan would kill me, just what he did before in the Dark Kingdom arc." Usagi's head lowered as she spoke.
" Usagi, why are you thinking such weird stuff, the moment when he in the Dark Kingdom, he was manipulated, MANIPULATED! Don't ever mention this traumatic stuff! Just forgot what he had done to you in the past!" Naru yelled as she slammed her fist to the table.
" Naru Chan…." Usagi has never seen Naru loses her temper before.
" Usagi, You need to be strong and listen and stop acting!" Umino also shouted.
" Guys, I'm sorry for making you mad.." Usagi apologised and wiped her tears.
" Just be careful next time before you speak, ok?" Naru clammed herself afterwards.
" We'll find Mamoru afterwards." Motoki said.
" You may probably speak to Mamoru about why your appearance is like this, and tell him when you meet Usagi." Ultra Father said.
" This is an Alternate universe, many people, have never met us, so no doubt how the people would react us like enemies." Mother of Ultra said.
" But why didn't the sailor scouts react us as our enemies?" Jack wondered.
" I think because we saved their lives? When we appeared in Sailor Stars , just only me and Jack appeared. Thus, I think it's kinda weird why we are the only ones that save them instead others." Taro wondered.
" Saving innocent people is our duty, civilians around the world , even Heroes and Heroines, is just we didn't know how would they react. Since it's the first time we appeared in the anime world." Jack said.
" Ace and Brother Zoffy doesn't know how to react when the Sailor Scouts met them." Taro said." Except all the Sailor Scouts Are trapped in the mirrors."
" We are the only ones that are not trapped, They even urged us to save Usagi." Jack said.
" You should give him some proof about this, or might he will not trust us." Ultra father said.
" Take this, Taro." Ultra mother said as she gives a small light.
" Mother, this is…"
" It's a projector, this can record all of the battles before. So you can prove this to Mamoru about this."
" Taro san, you can actually shows this to Mamoru , maybe he can change his mind." Venus smiled.
" Should we call Rei, Mako Chan, and Haruka, Michiru with their boyfriends?" Mercury asked.
" I think it's better if we told them in front of Mamoru, don't involve them inside." Venus replied.
" Yes, or might he will rant again." Taro said.
" Stay Safe, Taro." His parents waved.
" I will, Mom, Dad." Taro promised.
Then Jack, Taro and their girlfriends teleported back to earth.
Mamoru gently opened his eyes as he rubbed his eyes . He about to get off his bed, his phone's notification ringtone rung, scrolled down the message. And he saw a message, which was send by Motoki a few minutes ago, it was 6pm, he didn't even noticed that how long had he slept, and cried.
Then stumbled inside the bathroom, and looked to the reflection of himself. He saw his eyes, which are bloodshot, and his tear streaks on his face; his pale face. He never had thought he had cried so much in his he hung out with Usagi or fight along with her, he will always be the one that to sooth Usagi; and hug her tightly. "Damn, is it really, Usagi actually misses me? I know that I didn't appear in the final season of Sailor Stars, after My star seed stolen by Galaxia, am I really that stupid? Why should I go to America? Shouldn't I just stay at home and speak to Usagi more? Do I really need to study at Japan? I, as the Tuxedo Mask, How can I die like this? I know that I died, but why does Usagi didn't care about me?" His thoughts keep mixing up to his brain, and he shed a tear, again. " This tear, is it because I miss Usagi? Or Taro, is really a saviour of Usagi , fighting against Queen Beryl, and Sailor Galaxia? Because I died the whole time, and I didn't actually see her fighting with Taro ? Then maybe, The 'Demon' in the nightmare is just only a human shape similar to Taro? Or Am I thinking too much? I actually need to speak to Taro, about my impulsive actions, stalking Usagi, Minako and him, in the Swimming pool, the Hot Spring, and even attacked him with my Sickle, and even say some bad words, or even say he is working with Galaxia." Mamoru thought as he quickly wiped his tear with his finger, and gently blowed his nose with a tissue.
" This sickle….. I think I'll keep it hidden, I don't want to hurt Usagi anymore. I hurt her a lot of times…. I even failed her for promising her to be together…. But, how can I speak to her? I didn't even know how Usako would react . She is angry to me right now…" Mamoru thought as he opened the bedroom door.
A doorbell rung afterwards, he pressed his head, and walked to the front door. He opened the door, just to see his friend Motoki, Umino , Naru and Usagi. Usagi is in front. She is smiling as usual, the smile when they first met. Mamoru doesn't know what to do when they reunite. It was just only a few hours time, when they have a fight against Taro, which he had mistaken as Usagi's 'boyfriend'.
They stood for a few minutes, and finally Usagi spoke.
" Mamo-Chan." Usagi spoke.
" Usako, Please forgive me what I have done these days." Mamoru bowed as he puts his hand on his right chest.
" It's ok, Mamo-Chan. I know that I actually didn't speak to you earlier about Taro san." Usagi said as she lands her hand on his shoulder.
" Usako…. I didn't feel so well…." Mamoru's eyes started to lose his sight to Usagi and his friends.
" Mamo-Chan, are you alright?" Usagi asked.
" I haven't eaten for a few days, my forehead is boiling…" Mamoru pressed his head hard.
" Wow! Your forehead is freaking hot!" Umino shrugged as he laid his back of his hand to check his forehead.
" I'll call the hospital." Naru said as she grabbed her phone.
" Right." Motoki said as he hold him to his arms.
" Can you walk?" Umino asked.
" Yes, Thanks Umino." Mamoru thanked him.
Then they walked to the hospital to give a medical check on him.
Wonder how would Mamoru react when he met Taro? Will Taro and Mamoru reconcile ? Stay tuned for the last chapter!
My stories are alternate universe, so you may feel weird why Ultraman, Seven, Jack,Ace and Taro, Zoffy know them , and why they appear in Sailor Stars, because I'm planning to make a fanfiction based on The first few episodes of Sailor Stars , just only Jack, Ace, Taro and Zoffy, then I'll make Ultraman and Ultraseven along with the Starlights fight against Sailor Galaxia.
