Thechaosmaster: Hello everyone and welcome to the first chapter of the new year! That is right, as I promised, I haven't died yet, and I am back on the story horse once again! But unlike what I put in my author page, I had the sudden urge to write this story, and I hope you all like it, and I would like to know if you guys can figure out the little reference in the chapter name, leave your thoughts in the reviews! And now, on with the show!

Chapter 4: Flight Of The Phoenix

Quote of the Chapter: "Connection Terminated." Dioboromon, Our War Game, Digimon The Movie!

After all of the excitement from last nights battle between the howling wolf, and the sinister sea dragon, that lasted until early in the morning, me and the rest of the group decided to sleep in for a little bit longer, when we did decide to start moving again, it seemed like it was late in the evening, early afternoon, but we couldn't really tell.

None of us had a watch, well, not one that worked, or anything that could tell us the time of day, but we decided to continue moving forward, through the forest of misleading street signs, when something large passed over our heads, making a loud noise.

Sora-San, who was walking ahead of us, noticed something flying over our heads, suddenly stopped and said, "Wha—hey!"

Tai-Nii, who looked up towards Sora-San was looking, then, I saw his ears twitch, then he asked, "Whoa, did you hear that?"

I nodded and said in a false Yoda-Sama voice, "Yes, heard it, I did." Then in my normal voice I asked, "But do you guys see that?" I pointed to the strange black UFO like object in the sky.

Then Matt-San lightly scoffed, then he said, "It seems to be some sort of aircraft."

Sora-San put her hands over her eyes then said, "It looked like a big flying gear."

Izzy-San, being the ever theory man, then said, "Admit it, my alien theory is becoming more plausible."

Joe-San nodded and said, "Yeah, they hit us with an anti-gravity ray to make us all crooked!"

Tai-Nii then looked over to Joe-San, then and calmly said, "Or, maybe that sign's just crooked, Joe-San."

It was then that Takeur-San slipped on some loose rocks while he was climbing up the small hill where the rest of us were, and Sora-San yelled, "TK-San!" But me, Matt-San and Tai-Nii quickly grabbed him, and helped him up.

TK-San then fell onto his butt, then he looked down and said, "Whoa! That was scary!"

Nii-San then stood up and said, "Watch it! That could've been a snake, or worse!"

TK-San breathed a sigh of relief, then he said, "Oh boy, I'm sorry. Hey Biyomon-San, are there really snakes here?"

Biyomon-San shook her head and said, "No, just giant flying killer bugs and other unpleasant Digimon."

I sighed and mentally translated that to, 'No, but there are things ten times, or even a million, or even a zillion times worse then that, that want nothing more then to try to do us harm.'

Patamon-San smiled up at TK-San and cheerfully said, "Don't you worry, Takeru-San, I'll take care of them!"

This caused TK-San to laugh and started to hug Patamon-San. Then Sora-San sighed and said, "Okay, now that that's settled, let's get going."

Matt-San placed his arms on his hips and he said, "Nothing's settled, and where would we go? We don't even know where we are!"

Tai-Nii lightly laughed, trying to lighten the mood, and said, "This is silly, I say we keep moving and see if we can find any signs of intelligent life here."

Then Biyomon-San, who was rubbing her head against Sora-San's hand asked, "Hey wait a minute, is he saying that Digimon are not intelligent? Is that what he's saying?"

Sora-San shook her head, not really accepting that was what Tai-Nii had meant, then she said, "Not at all. But I think Tai-San's right. We need to keep moving in hopes of finding out where we are. We need to stay calm and stick together. Let's remember, we're in this together."

I watched as Biyomon-San nodded and said, "Together sounds good!"

Then the rest of us started to walk ahead, leaving Sora-San and Biyomon-San behind, then Sora-San said, "We can do it! This'll take teamwork. And I'm sure we'll figure out exactly where we are and how to get back. There's no point in splitting up because then, once somebody did figure it out, we—"

Then Biyomon-San said, "Hey, Sora-Chan? Open your eyes."

Sora-San opened her eyes to see that the rest of us has moved on without them. The two ran to catch up. Then Sora-San sarcastically said, "Well thanks a lot for waiting!"

I turned and rubbed my then nervously chuckled and said, "Sorry, Sora-San, we thought you would start walking with us, we didn't mean to leave you behind. Honest."

Sora-San gave me a strange look, it almost looked like she was glaring at me, but at the same time, it looked like she was trying to see if I was lying, then I thought, 'And I thought Kari-Imouto's glare was intense. Man, note-to-self, do not make Sora-San angry!'

Then, as we walked through a forest of road signs, Matt-San jokingly said, "Moving right along folks, keep it moving. Our next stop on the tour will be the forest of irrelevant road signs. No pictures, please!"

I laughed and said in a false tour guide voice, "Please be warned, these signs are known to play tricks on people's minds, better watch them carefully, or they might change when you'd least expect it." I heard Dorumon-San chuckle at that, then I thought, 'Did he, did he actually understand my joke!?'

That was when I heard him chuckle a bit, then he said, "Yeah, and let's see, I think that one says, 'beware of randomly changing signs.' Oh, look at that, the sign just changed."

Then both me and Dorumon-San looked at one another, both of us had a serious look on our faces, then we both started laughing like crazy, then I heard my brother sarcastically say, "You guys think you're a couple of comedians, don't ya?"

Me and Dorumon-San didn't say anything, but we gave him a mischievous smile, and wrapped our arms around each other kept on walking. Then we heard Joe-San say, "Hey wait up, my shoelace is broken!"

Mimi-San then turned to Joe-San and said, "You need new shoes." That was when she squealed and said, "Oooh, new shoes!"

I shook my head in disbelief thought, 'Can't Mimi-San think of something else that doesn't have anything to do with shopping?'

Then we got to the end of the forest, and into a clearing, on which stood on several tall telephone poles. Then Matt-San pointed up ahead of us, "Look! Telephone poles. I say we follow them and see where they lead!"

"They'll just lead to trouble." Joe-San sadly exclaimed. I'm telling you, one of these days, I'm gonna punch Joe-San in the face, I just hate his annoying depression.

As we were walking through the clearing, we all saw the big black gear streak through the sky again. Izzy-San then pointed to the black object and said, "Look, it's the alien saucer again!"

Then Matt-San watched the Black Gear spin towards the mountain and said, "And it's headed for a close encounter!"

We all watched as the gear crashed into a grass-covered hilltop in the distance. Then I placed my sunglasses over my eyes and said, "Looks like ET just made contact."

Everyone looked at me with faces filled with very slight annoyance at my horrible attempt at a joke, and I was left embarrassed, and rubbed the back of my head, and pulling the collar of my shirt and awkwardly laughed.

After everyone stopped glaring at me, we all continued walking through the dessert of telephone polls. The sun was so bright that I pulled my sunglasses over my eyes to keep the sun from blinding me, I was sweating up a storm.

And Dorumon-San looked like he was about to spontaneously combust at any moment. Then I turned back to see how the others were doing and noticed that they weren't doing much better, I watched Izzy-San as he wiped some sweat from his forehead and heard him sigh.

I wasn't faring any better, the desert heat was torture, and I thought, 'Well, it's like they always say, out of the nice cool jungle, and into the frying pan!'

Then I heard TK-San say, "Boy, it's so hot I can feel the heat coming up through my socks."

Then Matt-San turned to his Otouto and said, "Well, TK, maybe you should put your shoes back on."

It was all peaceful, if a little hot, but then we all heard Mimi-San complain, "Oh, this hot desert air is destroying my complexion. How much further is it?"

"Is that all you're worried about, Mimi? We'll be lucky if we even survive this hike!" Joe-San asked Mimi-San in disbelief.

Then Sora-San looked up at the telephone poles and asked, "Hey, does anybody besides me see that these telephone poles have no connecting wires?"

Izzy-San nodded, then he said, "She's right. I wonder if these actually are telephone poles. Maybe they're some odd alien equivalent." The look on his face said it all, he's got a theory, and he would be thinking about it for many nights to come.

Then I looked around, was trying to figure out the deal with the phone poles, then I said, "They could be, but then again, they could be something else entirely. But what?"

Then Mimi-San looked at us and suddenly asked, "Hey, remember those phone booths? And that streetcar?"

We all nodded and Izzy-San asked, "Yeah, what about 'em?"

Mimi-San then waved her hand dismissively and she said, "Oh, nothing. I was just wondering if anybody else remembered."

Then, that was when Joe-San suddenly stopped and grabbed his hair and started to pull it out as he exclaimed in a voice filled in panic, "That's it! Doomed. The heat has baked our brains and we're all gonna end up like roasted piglets!"

Izzy-San turned to the older boy and said, "Just remain calm, Joe-San. We've only been walking for two minutes."

That was Tentomon-San then called Izzy-San over and quietly said, "Izzy-San! Come here, Izzy-San." Then, the DigiDestined of knowledge knelt down as Tentomon-San quietly said, "I think we'd better find some shade for Joe-San. And quick."

I silently chuckled and thought, 'Hehe, boy these guys are going to be in for a wide awakening shortly. Now, I know I shouldn't be this excited, but, old habbits.

That was when Mimi-San then started cheerfully humming, then she walked up to us and happliy said, "You won't believe what happened to my favorite watch!"

Joe-San and the rest of us looked up at her as Joe-San asked, "Hmm? What?"

We all watched as Mimi-San held up a compass and laughed, then she said, "The sun melted the numbers right off!"

Me and the others knelt down to look at it, then Tai-Nii said, "Mimi-San, for somebody who hates hiking, you sure have a lot of compasses. Of course, none of them actually work."

We all watched as Mimi-San's compass started going crazy, then it started spinning rapidly around and around. Izzy-San grabbed a handful of dirt and examined it. Then he said, "Oh, this dirt contains small traces of metal which could affect the compass needle."

I sighed, already seeing tha were in the middle of nowhere and no sign of any shade, yet. I rubbed the sweat off my forehead then I said, "Well, it looks like we're lost in the desert with no way of knowing which way is south. Hmm."

Mimi-San simply shrugged and said, "Oh well. I'm always late anyway."

Sora-San then stood up and said, "This is one weird world, and I don't like it one little bit!"

I nodded and rubbed my head to get rid of the sweat as I said, "Yeah, that's for sure. And this sun is blinding me, I mean, even with my sunglasses the sun is still blinding me."

Izzy-San then looked towards the rest of us as he said, "I think we should start looking for water, guys. Otherwise, we could dehydrate in all this heat."

Tai-Nii nodded in agreement and said, "Yeah. But we're doing okay for now, aren't we?"

But the peacefulness didn't last long as Mimi-San stood up and screamed from the top of her lungs, "Heeeeelp! Somebody please find us!"

I shook my head, while holding my ears in pain, then I looked towards Mimi-San and said, "Mimi-San, I don't think you should be yelling that loudly, you could end up attracting some, unwanted attention to us. Or, you could end up causing the rest of us our hearing."

Tai-Nii nodded and said, "He's right. And for all we know, we could be getting ourselves in danger for doin just that, so please be more mindful, Mimi-San."

Mimi-San quickly covered her mouth and said, "Sorry."

I nodded then said, "It's alright, just try to be a bit more careful next time, alright?" Mimi-San nodded then I said, "Good. Now then, come on guys, let's get moving again, the sooner we find some shade or at least get out of the desert, the better."

That was when Dorumon-San turned to me and asked, "Huh, you say something, Luke-San?"

I turned to him and had a sudden thought of a green spandex wearing, bushy brow, bowl cut man shouting youth, this sudden thought caused me to shiver in fear, Tai-Nii must have noticed this because he asked, "Hey, Otouto, you okay?"

I turned to Tai-Nii and said, "Yeah, just had an, unwanted image appear in my mind, no, I won't elaborate, trust me. It will haunt your nightmares for years to come."

Everyone looked at me weirdly, but they nodded and we started heading forward when Izzy-San said, "I've taken this oil sample, measured the barometric pressure, and analyzed the relative humidity."

Sora-San then looked towards our resident genius, and she asked, "And what did you find out?"

Izzy-San then plainly said, "It's really, really hot."

I rolled my eyes and thought, 'I don't think we needed all that science talk to tell us that, Izzy-San!'

Tai-Nii then looked towards our friends said, "Hang on, just a little longer. Don't give up now."

I weakly nodded and wiped my forehead clean of sweat and said, "Yeah, just a little bit longer, then we'll find a nice cool place to relax! I can just feel it!"

Mimi-San then she used her hat to fan herself as she weakly chanted, "We're gonna be okay, just keep moving along."

Palmon-San, who was breathing heavily, said, "My head is baking. If this goes on too much longer, I'm going to look like a wilted salad!"

Dorumon-San then weakly turned to Palmon-San and asked, "How do you think we feel, Palmon-San? Some of us have fur that makes us sweat more then you guys, and the fact that I've got dark fur makes it that much more worse for me!"

Mimi-San then turned towards Palmon-San and said, "Here, you wear my hat for a while. You need it more than I do." She then took off her big pink hat and placed it on her partners head.

Palmon-San looked up towards Mimi-San and smiled, then she said, "Thank you, Mimi-San."

TK-San then smelled something and quickly covered his nose and he said, "Pee-yew! What's that yucky smell?"

Matt-San then gave a whiff, then he too covered his nose and said, "Ugh! Here's a thought. Now you know why they call them sweat socks!"

Mimi-San hunched over, looking like she was going to pass out, then said, "This beach would be a lot more popular if it just had a couple more things. Like, an ocean, a gentle breeze, snack bar, hunky lifeguards…"

Mimi-San then started to laugh, kinda creepily, I might add, while Biyomon-San stopped walking, and we all turned turn to her, and saw that she was breathing heavily.

Then Biyomon-San started to heave, then she said, "Hold it, I have to stop. I just don't think that I can go any faster."

I very weakly nodded in agreement and said, "Yeah, I know the feeling, Biyomon-San, it's so hot, that it feels like we're walking on the sun!"

Sora-San then turned to her partner and lightly smiled as she said, "You just have to think positive. Let's all pretend that it's raining."

That seemed to bring a smile to Biyomon-San, who then cheered and rubbed against Sora-San's pant leg and said, "Yeah, that's a great idea! I simply adore the rain!"

Matt-San, while he did nod in agreement, he shook his head, then he said, "Me too, but it's time for a reality check. This isn't getting any better. It might be a good idea to turn around and get out of this desert right now!"

Joe-San nodded, agreeing with the DigiDestined of Friendship, and said, "Mmm hmmm."

Tentomon-San then turned to the others, then he spoke a bit like Izzy-San and said, "You mean before we all have a power outage? I'll vote for that."

Dorumon-San nodded, looking like the gem on his head might explode and said, "Yeah, I think it's about time we got out of this dessert level and find one much cooler, like another beach level."

We all then turned towards the wolf dragon in surprise, well, I did, the others looked at him in confusion, then I asked, "How do you… you know what?" I waved my hand to dismiss him, it was Atsu sugiru, to deal with my partners antics right now. "Forget it, and you're right, we need to get out of here before we all get sick!"

Tai-Nii nodded, then I saw him glance over his shoulder, then his eyes slightly widened, then he said, "Wait, hold on for just a second, everybody. If I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing…"

We all watched as Nii-San pulled out his pocket telescope and looked out into the distance. I look to where Tai-Nii was looking, and had my sunglasses on, and my hand over my head, and squinted, and I could have sworn that I saw, something, off in the distance.

Then TK-San walked over to Nii-San and asked, "What is it, Tai-San?"

Tai-Nii simply nodded to himself, then he said, "Mmm hmmm, it's not a mirage, it's real water!"

Biyomon-San then excitedly asked, "Water?"

This caused me and Dorumon-San too look at each other with smiles on our faces, then we both asked, "Really!? No joke?"

Joe-San then threw his arms in the air, then he cheered, "This is fantastic! Now all we need are some lemons, sugar and some big fat ice cubes!"

Izzy-San smiled wildly as he said, "That looks like a village! Maybe we'll find people."

Palmon-San nodded and said, "And shade!"

Mimi-San then turned to Palmon-San and said, "Maybe they'll have hats for sale. Hang on!"

TK-San then cheered and he said, "Water and food! I'm hungry enough to eat broccoli!" He was chuckling like crazy, and his joy was kida contagious.

Patamon-San then looked over to TK-San, then she asked, "What's broccoli? Is that a joke?"

I looked laughed and said, "Only to us human kids, it's a human food!" I tried to explain, then I asked, "Well?" Everyone looked at me as I said, "What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Tai-Nii nodded with a smile, then he said, "Right! Let's get outta this desert!" And with that statement, he threw his hand forward.

And with that, all of us started running towards the village in the distance, but after we arrived in the village, we discovered that it was populated, but not by humans, instead they were Yokomon, lots and lots of Yokomon! Just like Sora-San's partner's In-Training level. Then I thought, 'Well, even if their not humans, at least they're not attacking us, that's good news for us and… wait! Wasn't this when…' I shook my head and thought, 'I should worry more about cooling down then I should be about what is to come.'

Tai-Nii sighed in defeat then he said, in a voice of disbelief, "From so far away, everything looks so big."

Mimi-San then looked at them with hearts in her eyes, then she exclaimed, "But they're so cute and tiny!"

Biyomon-San then looked towards all the Yoko's then she asked, "Okay, question. Who here knows where we can get a drink?"

Then a Yokomon looked to us human kids and asked, "And just what do giant Digimon drink?"

Sora pointed to herself in question and she said, "Me? I'm no Digimon."

Biyomon-San nodded to her partner's statement, then she said, "My friend Sora-San, and her friends are what's called a human being. Yes, we know they look funny. In spite of this, they are all actually very nice."

Then some Yokomon looked over to us kids and started asking, "What's a human being?"

Then another Yokomon asked, "If you are not Digimon, what are you doing here in DigiWorld?"

Then I raised my finger and said, "Now that is the million yen question. And just what we are trying to figure out."

Then Joe-San actually looked like he was going to freak out as he said, "This is great. There is no way we are all going to fit into this place."

Tai-Nii, the ever calm leader, simply placed a hand on Joe-San's shoulder and he said, "Relax, Joe-San. At least the natives here are friendly."

I nodded, agreeing with Nii-San's statement, then I said, "Yeah, and at least we can finally relax and catch our breaths here, y'know?"

Mimi-San, then turned to one of the Yokos, then, as she picked one up, she said, "Oh, my! I would just love to take one home and put it on my bed with all my other stuffed animals!"

Matt-San scoffed at Mimi-San's weirdness and said, "There she goes again. Do you guys think Mimi-San hears the same things we hear? I'm not sure anymore."

Izzy-San then looked at Mimi-San with a critical glance, then he suggested, "Maybe she's an alien spy."

I chuckled, not really taking this serious as I said, "I doubt it, she's way to cheerful to be a spy, and besides, out of all of us, I'd actually suggest that Joe-San is the spy here while Mimi-San is just to cheerful."

Dorumon-San looked over to me in curiosity, then he asked, "What are you guys talking about?"

I simply shook my head, wanting to dismiss this conversation before it got any weirder, and I simply smiled and said, "Just joking around, why do you ask, Dorumon-San?"

My partner shrugged, seemingly excepting my not a lie and said, "Just asking."

Patamon-San then looked to the youngest member of our group, then he said, "TK-San's tired and hungry!"

Joe-San then grabbed his stomach, and then said, "He's not the only one."

I nodded and grabbed my stomach, feeling empty in the engine, and I said, "Yeah, same here."

Then a Yokomon walked up to Saro-San's Biyomon-San and asked, "Biyomon, just when did you Digivolve?"

Biyomon-San then looked at the Yoko who asked the question, then she looked over to Sora-San and said, "When I met Sora-San. We share a special bond which is magical."

Another Yokomon, this one seemed to be liking the story, then said, "You don't talk like us anymore. Is that how all Biyomon talk?"

Then a younger Yokomon turned to her and asked, "And why do you add the word San, at the end of Sora's name?"

Biyomon-San shook her and said, "I don't know, it's how the big ones talk. And the san, I don't know, I suppose I just picked it up from Sora-San. She is a wonderful and kind human being and I've already learned a lot from her."

This is when I stepped in, "You see," all the Digimon looked towards me, then I said, "Where us human kids come from, we speak with respect, adding words like San, Sama, and other words, these words are called suffix. They usually used at the end of someones name. But, while I would love to give a crash course in Japanese culture, that would just take an hour to explain, two hours to describe the ins and outs, that I would be considered a teacher. Also I am a little hungry, making me not so clear headed, heck, I think I'm starting to see double right now."

I blinked a few times, then I asked, "Okay, where was I going with this? I had a point, but I think I lost it somewhere." Really, it was so hot, that my brain was baking, making it hard to actually think properly. Or even see straight.

And the seeing double thing wasn't a joke, it was the truth, I looked over to Dorumon-San, and I could have sworn that I saw two of him standing next to one another.

The others just ignored me, all of them too hungry and tired to continue on for me, then a Yokomon turned back to the pink bird and said, "We still don't understand how you Digivolved. What is it about being around human beings that makes it happen?"

Biyomon-San placed her wing over her heart, and she closed her eyes, then she said, "Sora-San needed me. I had to protect her."

I turned towards Sora-San, who then sat down behind one of the huts near Biyomon-San, then she looked over to her partner, and softly asked herself, "She had to protect me?"

Biyomon-San, still looking at each and every Yokomon, then said, "When she was in danger, I felt a strange power started to flow through me. I didn't know what it was. I can't describe it, but all of a sudden I realized I'd Digivolved."

I lightly smiled as I turned to Sora-San, who then looked up to the sky, then she said, "Wait a sec, now I get it. That's why she's always following me around. Hmm. When Tai-Kun needed him, Agumon-San Digivolved to Greymon-San to protect him, and Garurumon-San did the same for Matt-San. They Digivolve for us. We're lucky kids."

I rolled my eyes, not in annoyance, but in light humor, both at the fact she called Nii-San 'Kun' and as well as the simple answer she had come to.

And while I was happy that these guys were taking this serious, they weren't aware of what was really going on around us, I looked towards Sora-San and thought, 'Oh, Sora-San, I feel sorry for you, for all of the DigiDestined at the moment, you're all so young, so inexperienced, so naïve.'

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that to be mean to my friends, but, it's just that, with us being here for only two days, well, two days in the Digital World, and barely a fraction of a second at home.

I was about to go down that rabbit hole that I really wanted to avoid, one where I would be over thinking everything, so I shook my head and thought, 'No, now is not the time to be over thinking everything.'

I looked at my friends and saw that they looked exhausted, but happy to be able to rest, this caused me to smile lightly as I thought, 'Even though it won't be until later on that you guys will all learn the truth about where we are, and just why we are so special.'

I looked down at my black and white D-Ark and frowned ever so lightly as I thought in a more serious tone, 'While it is true that the same could be said about me, it was your adventures in the Digital World that had shown me the truth. But, still, I think you guys should try to be a bit more like Takeru-San.'

I turned to the young child of Hope, and saw that he had a look of amazement and curiosity on his face as he explored the village. 'And yes, he may be too young to even realize what's happening around him, and he doesn't really know much about the world, and you can call him childish. But it that childish nature, and his open mind, and his ready to have fun personality is what makes him possibly one of the strongest members of the team. Because, that child like innocents is what is true power here.'

That was when I had a random thought pop in my head, 'Hmm. I wonder, what would have happen if TK-San would meet Calamon-San at this age? I know that these two worlds will never collide, but I really think that the Tamers and the DigiDestined would actually make a great team.'

My rant ended when I heard Biyomon-San's voice call out, "Sora-San. We're invited to have dinner with the Yokos. They said they'd be willing to share their food with all of us."

Sora-San looked up at her partner with a smile then she said, "Oh wow. That's awesome Biy-Chan!"

It was then that we all cheered, and Joe-San looked at us as he raised his fist in the air, and he said, "Let's see hands if you want lemonade!"

Then TK-San smiled brightly then he said, "I wonder what Yokomon eat."

Tai-Nii looked at the many huts and he replied with, "I'll take a cheeseburger, fries and a shake."

I laughed while shaking my head at NNii-San's ridiculous assumption of cheeseburgers being here in the desert. Then I turned to Tai-Nii and said, "I would go with something a little more logical, Tai-Nii. Like some fresh fruit. I mean, we're in the middle of the desert with its only inhabitants being Yokomon, I highly doubt that there would be a restaurant here."

That was when Izzy-San looked up to the sky and wondered, "I wonder what they will be serving. Perhaps some bone with meat, lettuce topped with fish, and…"

But, before anyone else could trigger the growling stomach, TK-San then started running somewhere while yelling, "Water, water!"

Izzy-San then looked up towards Takeru-San with wide eyes and asked, "Water?"

I turned towards where TK-San was running and saw a well, then I heard him say, "Look everybody, a fresh water fountain! Hurray!"

A Yokomon looked towards the well and said, "Oh, the water here is piped in from a spring at Mihirashi Mountain. It's the best water in the world!"

But Tentomon-San flew off the ground and said, "Forget the world. Mount Mihirashi water is the best in all the galaxy."

TK-San looked towards one of the Yokomon then he asked, "Where's Mount Mihirashi?"

Then a Yokomon turned towards a massive mountain and said, "Up there!"

That was when we all turned to look where the Yokomon indicate. And we were surprised at what we were seeing, 'A volcano!? That's where the water comes from!? The top of a live volcano!?' I thought to myself in shock.

And I wasn't the only one shocked as TK-San stated, "Hey, that's a live volcano!

A Yokomon nodded and said, "Yes, but the heat boils away all the germs."

Then we all heard a loud rumbling sound, and Izzy-San said, "If I'm not mistaken, that noise precedes an eruption!"

Just then we all had to take a few steps back as the well literally erupted in a tolerant of flames. We all screamed in terror and jumped back to get away from the flames.

Then TK-San, not really being scared, instead, being a little curious, then said, "That's cool, but I still didn't get a drink."

Tai-Nii then looked around in slight panic, then he asked, "What is happening?"

A Yokomon then looked towards the well and said, "The water evaporated!"

"Yeah, no kidding." I said, sarcasm filled in my voice. "We can see that. But WHY did the water evaporate is the question." I said, trying not to be rude.

Then another Yokomon said, "That's okay because the lake is always full of water."

Tai-Nii then turned to where the lake was, and he had a serious expression on his face as he said, "I'll check it out."

And Matt-San nodded in agreement, then he said, "Let's all go."

I pushed my sunglasses down over my eyes as I said, "Yeah, let's."

Then we all started running up to where the lake is, only to find out that it is completely empty! 'Just great, well, so much for getting something to drink!' I thought bitterly.

"The water's all gone!" Izzy-San said, stating to obvious, but by the tone in his voice, he had no explanation for why it happened.

Mimi-San gasped in shock, then she asked, "Goodness, where did it go?"

TK-San looked at the lake, then he stated, "Somebody pulled the plug!"

Tai-Nii then said, "Alright, let's not panic." But I could tell that he was one moment away from freaking out himself.

I shared a look with Dorumon-San and knew that something was wrong, then I thought, 'Now I remember! This is when that Meramon-San that lives on Mihirashi Mountain gets infused with that Black Gear and becomes crazy. Then that must mean that… Oh, no!'

While I was going through my memory warehouse full of my Digimon knowledge, Tai-Nii and the others were heading back to the Yokomon village, and when I realized that I was all alone, even Dorumon-San left me behind. 'Gee, thanks guys.'

It was then that I felt the sudden sting of irony hit me as I realized that it was just like earlier when we accidentally left Sora-San behind. Then I ran to catch up with the others and watched at Tai-Nii lowered a bucket into the well. Everyone watched as it fell and crashed at the bottom.

Matt-San folded his arms in annoyance as he said, "Dry as a bone."

Tai-Nii, being the stubborn Nii-San that he was, glared at the well as he stubbornly said, "I won't give up."

Then Tai-Nii started rapidly pulling the rope back up, but found only a singed end where the bucket should be. Suddenly, another column of flame shot up from the well, and Tai-Nii jumped back, hopping from foot to foot.

This caused Mimi-San to say, "Look. Tai-San's doing a little dance for us! Is that supposed to stop the fire or bring down the rain?"

I actually struggled to hold back a chuckle from Mimi-San's question, and thought, 'Really, Mimi-San?'

I then saw a look of realization appear on Matt-San's face, almost as if he had realized something, and he said, "Hey! Do you remember that flying gear we saw earlier?"

I literally saw the lightbulb appear above Izzy-San's head as he said, "It crashed right into a hillside."

I nodded and, already seeing where Izzy-San was going, and I said, "Yeah, and that hillside was…"

That was when my eyes widened and me and Dorumon-San both looked at one another in shock as we both said, "Mihirashi Mountain!"

Then Sora-San sarcastically said, "Great. Of all the hillsides out there, the gear crashes right into Mihirashi Mountain."

Joe-San then turned to a Yokomon and fearfully said, "That's the place where the water comes from!"

Then a Yokomon nodded, then she said, "That's right. The water comes from a lake on the top of Mount Mihirashi. So a gear crashing into the mountain could affect our water supply."

Izzy-San then gave everyone an voice of agreement with, "Mmmm hmmm."

Then I punched my palm as I said, "We have to get up there and find that gear, right away!"

But a Yokomon shook it's head and said, "We don't dare go up there. The mountain is guarded by a fiery Digimon called Meramon. He's hideously dangerous!"

Tai-Nii then started to juggle his mini telescope, then he said, "I want a closer look at that mountain."

Then I had a strange feeling wash over me, almost like a small feeling of dread, like something terrible was going to happen, and I immediately knew what it was, then I looked towards Dorumon-San and I quietly said, "Get ready bud, something could be coming, and I don't think it's a welcoming committee."

Dorumon-San nodded as he got into a hunched down position, ready to move at a moments notice, then he looked at me and said, "Right, Lukas-San! I'm ready!"

Tai-Nii, who was still looking through his telescope, began focusing it as he asked, "You say this Meramon fellow is a fiery Digimon? What does he look like?" That was when I noticed a look of fear on his face as he said, "Never mind, there he is! He's coming! He's coming our way!"

Then one of the Yokomon yelled, "He burns up everything he touches! He never comes down off the mountain, though. This is very strange behavior for him!"

Then I heard something, it sounded like, faint screams of pain and agony and I said, "Wait! Do you guys hear that?"

We all heard something, almost like someone was in pain, then we all turned towards Meramon-San, and found out that it was him who was yelling, "Oooh, I'm burning…too hot!"

Palmon-San, who thought that it was a little strange for Meramon-San to be complaining about the heat said, "Meramon is a fiery Digimon. There's no reason he should be in pain from his own flames. That's his nature."

We all heard Meramon crying in pain and I asked, "How can it be possible for someone made of fire, to not be able to handle the heat?"

Tai-Nii nodded, agreeing with me, then he said, "I agree with you, Otouto. This is weird. He's crying!"

Then we all heard Meramon-San yell out, "Burning!"

Sora-San looked very confused as she said, "Sounds like he's out of his mind with pain."

Tai-Nii took a few steps back, most likely subconsciously, then he asked, "What do we do?"

Then I got into my thinking pose and asked, "Well, just how would you treat a being made of fire?"

Then we all heard Meramon-San yell out, "Burning, burning, burning!"

Then he started heading towards us and Sora-San slightly shivered as she said, "Look, he's coming straight toward the village!"

Then I balled my hands into fists as I seriously said, "If he gets here, he could set the entire village on fire! We have to something!"

Then Biyomon-San nodded and she said, "Hey, everybody. We'd better decide what we're going to do. I've never seen him move so fast. He's already reached the foot of the mountain, and now he's starting to enter the forest!"

Then Sora-San had a sudden idea and she quickly said, "Everybody, freeze! Stay very still."

Then almost everybody in the village remained motionless, except for me and Dorumon, we were twitching with fear and discomfort as we watched as Meramon rushed through the forest toward us.

Then we all heard Meramon-San say, "You're going to need more than sunscreen to stop me!"

Then Sora-San, possibly still a little shaken with fear, said, "Don't move a muscle!"

Then we watched as Meramon-San got closer and closer as he yelled, "Agh! Burn, burn, burn!"

Then I turned to the others and said, "Guys, he's not a T-Rex! Besides, that only works in movies! We can't stand still! That's a bad idea! We have to get out of here, ASAP!"

Tai-Nii nodded in agreement, then he yelled, "Ah! He's right! Unfreeze! And run!"

Then me, the group, along with the entire village of Yokomon, started running from the deranged laughing Meramon-San as fast as possible. Then we all started to herd all of the Yokomon into the hull of a wrecked ship, that was lying dead in the desert.

Tai-Nii then began ushering the Yokomon onto the wreaked ship as he said, "Come on, keep it moving!"

Sora-San was helping Tai-Nii in her own way as she said, "All the way to the rear!"

Then I turned to the sea of Yoko's and I yelled, "Come on, hurry, hurry! Leave no mon behind!" We watched as more and more Yokomon started filling in the ship and I looked towards Dorumon-San and said, "Hey, Doru-San, how are you doing!?"

The cyan dragon wolf looked to me and said, "Doing fine Lukas-San! Hey! Don't push!"

I sighed in relief then I heard Matt-San say, "Okay, settle down, there's room for all of you! Will you guys please stop squirming!"

As Matt-San was working to get all of the Yokomon together on the rear of the ship, Joe-San came up with more of them.

Then I heard Joe-San speak up and I turned to him to see him carrying a bunch of Yokomon in his arms, then he said, "Here's the next batch, Matt-San."

I turned back to Tai-Nii, who then said, "Easy now, you'll be okay."

I nodded, then I grabbed a Yokomon who almost fell off the boat and said, "Yeah, don't worry, you'll be fine!"

Sora-San then looked around and then she appeared to be looking around, checking to see if everyone was present, then she asked, "All right. Who's not here?"

Me, Tai-Nii, and Sora-San looked around, taking note of the Digimon currently present, then checking on our partners, but, when a certain pink bird was not in sight, both me and Sora-San's eyes widened, and realized that Biyomon-San.

Then I remember what Biyomon-San had said while we started running towards the boat, "The Yokos… I'll take care of them!"

Then I heard Sora-San say, "This is bad! Run, come on!" She was worried about her partner, but she was still trying to keep the Yokos safe.

Me and Sora-San looked up to the top of the cliff, where we saw Biyomon-San was herding the Yokomon down the edge to the ship below. I could just faintly hear what she was saying, "Everyone keep moving, now. Just follow the one in front of you."

Then Sora-San ran towards the front of the ship and she yelled out, "Biyomon-San! Please, save yourself! Come down while there's still time!"

But Biyomon-San stubbornly shook her head as she replied with, "I can't leave here until all my friends are safe, Sora-San!"

Sora-San then sighed in defeat, then she looked up to her partner and said, "Alright. I suppose I'll just have to come up there after you, then!" Sora-San then started running back up the mountain trying to get to Biyomon-San.

Then I heard Nii-San yell out, "Hurry! Sora-San, you'll never make it!"

Joe-San then looked up from his batch of Yokomon and he asked, "Hey, where is Sora-San going?"

Then I turned towards Joe-San and I said, "She's going to help Biyomon-San as best as she can!"

Then Matt-San's eyes widened, and he yelled, "Wait! Sora-San! Come back!"

Then I turned to the running Sora-San and saw that she wouldn't make it to Biyomon-San in time. Then I had a sudden thought, 'You know what? Forget about keeping the timeline in check, at the rate she's running, she could end up being roasted by pyro there! I need to help her, no matter what, I don't leave friends behind!'

Then me and Dorumon-San, both looked at each other, then we nodded, almost reading each other's minds, then we started running up the hill, following Sora-San, then I heard Nii-Sans voice yell, "Lukas-Otouto! Dorumon-San! Where are you guys going!? You're gonna get yourselves hurt!"

Then I turned back to Tai-Nii, and gave him my most serious expression, then I yelled out, "Sorry, Nii-San! But I can't and won't leave any of my friends behind! Even if we can't do anything, we can still help out as best as we can! Besides," I gave Tai-Nii my mischievous fox-like grin that I earned from my younger years and said, "we're not going to let a wannabe Human Torch-Baka take us down so easily!"

Then I looked back in front of me and continued running. And even though I couldn't see him, I just knew that Tai-Nii was worried about me, and I know what I was doing was wrong but, I just can't think of standing back as a side character anymore, even if I change history, I swore that I would be these guys protector, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do!

While me and Dorumon-San were running right behind Sora-San, we were still close enough to hear Biyomon-San sigh in relief and said, "Ah, good. They're all safe now."

Then Sora-San began running faster and she yelled out, "Biyomon-Chan! Watch out! Behind you!"

Just then a huge, flaming figure appeared on the cliff right behind Biyomon-San. Then Sora yelled out, "Biyomon-Chan, he's right behind you!"

Biyomon-San, hearing Sora-San's voice, suddenly turned around and, I could only guessed that she glared at Meramon-Baka and said, "Go away, Meramon-San. Leave us alone! We're not bothering you!"

But instead of acting like the flaming giant heard anything that Biyomon-San said, with one swipe of his hand, Meramon-Baka sent Biyomon-San tumbling down the edge of the cliff.

Then my eyes widened in shock, and I yelled, "Oh, no! Dorumon-San, hit him with a Metal Cannon! Now!"

Dorumon-San gave me a knowing look as he said, "But Luke-San, I don't think that would do anything."

I nodded in understanding, but still said, "I know that bud, but this isn't to hurt him, just to distract him long enough to buy time for Sora-San to get to Biyomon-San!"

Dorumon-San, looked at me, then he nodded, then he took a deep breath, then he yelled, "Metal Cannon!" Then he launched a baseball sized metal ball at Meramon-San, who was in the middle of chasing Biyomon-San, then the metal ball hit Meramon-Baka in the stomach, and knocked him down, but he was getting back up. But the distraction was just enough to give Sora-San the time to get to her partner.

I was able to breath a sigh of relief, seeing that we had managed to by Sora-San enough time to get to Biyomon-San. Then me and Dorumon-San ran up to Sora-San and I heard Sora-San ask, "Are you okay?"

Biyomon-San nodded and said, "Sure. I hope I never do that again. It wasn't very fun."

Sora-San laughed lightly, seeing that her partner was still in one piece, then she picked Biyomon-San up in a hug.

Biyomon-San then rubbed her head against Sora-San then said, "Thank you for coming to rescue me."

I saw that Sora-San smiled lightly at her partner as she said, "Don't mention it. That's what a friend is for. Right?"

Biyomon-San seemed to smile brightly at this and she said, "You can say that again. My friend."

I really didn't want to interrupt this heartwarming moment between partner and Digimon, but I knew that these was something much more important to worry about. I ran up to the two girls and said, "I hate to interrupt this happy time but, we still have a giant flaming dude on our hands!"

Sora-San looked up at me and Dorumon-San in surprise, and she asked, "Luke-San? Dorumon-San? What are you guys doing here?"

I pointed towards Meramon-San and I frowned, then I said, "I just bought you enough time to get Biyomon-San, but unfortunately, I can't do enough here."

Sora-San looked at me in confusion as she asked, "What do you mean, Luke-San?"

Then I glanced behind me and I said, "Look." I pointed to the Yokomon that were still running to the boat, and said, "We'll handle the Yokomons, you guys just try to take care of this guy, alright?"

Sora-San's eyes widened in shock, then she said, "Wait! We can't handle this guy on our own!"

Then I sighed sadly, I really hate doing this, but, I was trying to prevent any massive changes in the timeline that could have any unforseen consequences, then I said, "Sora-San, just trust me on this one, you can handle it! Believe me."

Then I looked towards Dorumon-San and we both started running back down the hill and I thought, 'That's it, I've made my decision, I'll tell them everything, but not until after they hear they legend from Leomon-San, after that, I'll tell them, not everything about the show, but what I do tell them will help clear some things up for them. I'll tell then the reasons behind us being here, and… NO!'

The fears of what my friends could think of me returned and I suddenly thought, 'I can't do it! Ugh! Why can't I bring myself to tell the others the truth!? Am I that scared or what!?' I quickly shook my head, remembering where I am again, then I heard Meramon-San roar, and I turned around just in time to see him form a fireball in his hand. Then I thought, 'Man! If someone says anything about an inner monologue takes no time cliche, I'm gonna punch them.'

Then I heard Biyomon-San's voice say, "Uh oh. We're still in great danger, Sora-San."

Sora-San then looked up behind her, she must have been distracted about what I had told her and she asked, "What?"

Biyomon-San then had a look of pure determination spread across her face, then she took to the sky and said, "You stay here. It's my turn to rescue you now."

Then Biyomon-San flew up to Meramon-San and she said, "You think you're really hot stuff, well you're in big trouble now. Spiral twister! Ha!"

Biyomon-San then launched her signature green spiraling flame attack at Meramon-San, who was slightly pushed back, but took several more of Biyomon-San's attacks, and held his ground.

But Biyomon-San wasn't deterred, and she kept launching attack after attack at Meramon-San and said, "Okay big red, take that! And that! And that!"

But Meramon-San simply laughed at her, almost as if her attacks tickled him, then he asked, "Is that the best you have to offer, weakling?"

That was when I heard Tai-Niis voice yell out, "We gotta help her out. He's too big to handle!"

I turned to the rest of my friends as Izzy-San nodded in agreement and he said, "Yeah."

Then Agumon-San, Patamon-San, and Tentomon-San all rushed out of the boat and headed to where Sora-San was, and Tai-Nii threw his fist in the air as he cheered, "Yeah!"

Then I watched as Meramon-San created a ball of fire in his hand, which he started juggling and he yelled, "Fire ball! Catch!"

He then wound up his arm in a pitchers move, then he launched the ball of fire right at Biyomon-San, and plucked her out of the sky and we all watched as she started falling to the ground. Causing Meramon-San to say, "Heh, looks like I hit a birdy. Whose next?"

Seeing this, caused Sora-San to worry, then she yelled, "Oh no! She's hit! Biyomon-Chan…" Sora-San then knelt to the ground in defeat, with her hands on the ground, by her side.

Then I heard Tai-Nii yell out, trying to get everyone to get in the game, "Come on, everyone! We can beat that monster."

I turned just in time to see Izzy-San nod in agreement and he said, "What we need is teamwork!"

Then I heard Meramon-San say in a cocky voice, "I'm ready. Give me your best shot!"

I watched as Agumon-San took a deep breath and fired a Pepper Breath attack, while Tentomon-San sent out a Super Shocker, and Gabumon-San aimed a Blue Blaster, and Patamon-San blew a Boom Bubble at Meramon-San.

But, unfortunately, while all of their attacks hit, it only caused the fiery Digimon to grow in size, making him much larger than before. He looked like he could dwarf MetalGreymon-San in size.

Then I looked at my friends, and watched as their partners put everything they had to help out Sora-San and Biyomon-San, then I tightened my grip on my D-Ark and thought, 'Kuso Jigoku, if they're going rush head first into danger, then I will to!'

Then I glared at Meramon-San and pulled out my D-Ark and my Modify Cards, then I looked at the cards, and I swear that I could feel the hidden power coming from the cards, then I thought, 'This may draw attention to myself, but Sora-San really needs the back up, now, let's see here, ah! Dorumon-San is mostly a powerhouse, but his speed is not the best, so…'

Then I grabbed the Modify Card that I wanted, and put the rest away, then I threw my Modify Card in the air, while I spun my D-Ark in my left hand, and once I caught my card I yelled, "Digi-Modify!" Then everyone looked at me, but I didn't care one bit, then I started to swipe the card in and yelled, "Hyper Chip, activate! Go get him, Dorumon-San!"

The cyan dragon wolf nodded, then with new speed, he charged at Meramon-San who asked, "Why do I suffer so?"

Then Dorumon-San was right up in his face and said, "Surprise!" Then Dorumon-San sent a spin kick at the flaming man in the gut and sent him backwards a few inches.

Then I heard Izzy-San gasp in surprise as he asked, "Amazing, Dorumon-San's speed just went up a whole new level! How did that happen?"

I lightly smiled when I heard Tai-Nii say, "Figure that puzzle out later, right now, we have more important matters on our hands! If we knew why he was crying, it might help to stop him.

I turned to see that Izzy-San had his thinking face on, then he said, "Uh, fire's not affecting him, I guess it's not heartburn."

Matt-San then turned to the Brainiac and then he suggested, "Maybe this monster just has growing pains."

Izzy-San then looked up to the elder Ishida with the biggest deadpanned expression, and he asked, "Growing pains?, Really, Matt-San? That's your best guess?"

Then I heard Joe-San say, "Matt-San, this is not a time to joke!"

I was about to say something when Meramon-San yelled. "Better get ready, here I come!"

Then we all watched as Meramon-San jumped down from the cliff, to where me and the others were, then I yelled, "Guys! We have to get out of here!"

Then as I was about to turn and run, I watched as Biyomon-San slowly got up weakly from where she had fallen. Then I saw her look at Sora-San, then I heard her say, "Sora-San? We're all in trouble now. Meramon-San cannot be allowed to win. My friends need my help now."

Just then we all watched as Biyomon-San became enveloped in a bright, blinding light, so bright that we had to cover our eyes, then I heard the all to familiar Digivice sound and then we all heard Biyomon-San yell out, "Biyomon Digivolve to…"

D-I-G-I-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N

Just then, Biyomon-San was engulfed in flames and soon transformed into what looked like a combination between a Phoenix, and a Pterodactyl, then the newly Digivolved Birdramon-San yelled, "Birdramon!"

Then I smiled brightly, happy to see that things were really heating up now, and I thought, 'Alright! Let's see how this hot head likes this! Show 'em how it's done, Birdramon-San!'

Then Birdramon-San swooped underneath Meramon-San and caught him before he reached us. She then chucked him back onto the cliff above.

Sora-San then breathed a sigh of relief and she said, "We'll be safe now. Biyomon-San Digivolved to rescue us."

I nodded and, then I smiled at Sora-San and I said, "Yeah, now the battle has been shifted to Birdramon-San's favor!"

Then we all heard Meramon-San ask, "What's wrong Birdramon? Afraid of me? Let's fight! Here, have a ball!"

Meramon-San then summoned another ball of fire and threw it at the Phoenix Digimon, and collided with her back causing her to scream out in pain. Then we all heard Sora-San yell out, "Don't turn your back!"

Then Meramon-San started laughing like mad, and Birdramon-San came straight at him, but was hit head on with fireball after fireball. Then Sora-San threw her arm to the side as she said, "Birdramon-San, move away!"

Birdramon-San, listening to the advice of her partner, then backed off, and went higher into the sky, high above Meramon-San. Then her wings started to glitter as she gathered her strength for an attack. We all watched as Meramon-San's smile started to fade from his face as several fireballs came at him at once.

The force of the hits started to cause Meramon-San to shrink back down to his normal size, and caused a black gear stuck in his back to fly out and be destroyed.

Izzy-San, seeing the Black Gear, then yelled, "It was a gear!"

Patamon-San looked towards the smartest guy in the room and then asked, "What is it?"

Izzy-San then turned to the large eared Digimon, then he stated, "It made him crazy!"

Me and Tai-Nii both looked at one another, and we nodded and said, "Right!"

Matt-San looked down at the flaming Digimon, then he said, "I suppose if you had a big black gear stuck inside of you, you'd act a little crazy, too. The poor guy."

Then TK-San then started cheering. "Yay! Biyomon did it!" And I do mean cheering. He was now dancing around like a kid on a sugar rush.

I smiled at the groups victory, then I thought of something, 'First Agumon-San was able to Digivolve without Tai-Nii even touching his Digivice, while it is true that he was being squeezed by that Shellmon-Baka, then Agumon-San suddenly Digivolved into Greymon-San.

Then it happened again when Seadramon-Teme was putting the squeeze on Matt-San, and Gabumon-San Digivolved into Garurumon-San, and now, Biyomon-San Digivolved into Birdramon-San on her own accord, that's strange.'

Then I stooped my inner monologue and saw that overhead, the huge form of Birdramon-San began to shrink down into the smaller, Rookie form of Biyomon-San as we all watched.

Then Sora-San stood proudly as she happily said, "Wow! Every time I'm in danger, Biyomon-Chan comes to my rescue! That's what I call a friend."

Biyomon-San then flew down to Sora-San and asked, "Are you alright? Oh, Sora-San!"

Then both Sora-San and Biyomon-San hugged each other and Sora-San said, "Oh, Biy-Chan! I was so worried about you! You're great. I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of you."

Biyomon-San seemed to blush at the praise she was getting, then she said, "I wasn't the least bit afraid. All I could think about was saving you because… Well, you know."

As Sora-San and Biyomon-San hugged, I saw Sora-San smiled brightly, causing me to smile as well. The sun was starting to set, then we all decided to head back to the Yokomon Village, with Meramon-San walking with us. Once we returned to the village we all sat down to have a rest then a Yokomon asked, "Meramon, why did you attack our village?"

Meramon-San had his hand on his head and said, "I couldn't stop myself."

Another Yokomon looked up at the fireman in wonder as he said, "That must have been awful for you. If you couldn't control yourself, who was controlling you?"

Meramon-San looked down at his hands, and then he shook his head and he said, "The last thing I remember is being hit by that gear."

After Meramon-San had said that, that very same Yokomon then said, "Well, we're just happy to see that you're back to normal. I hope nothing like this ever happens again. You're needed to protect Mount Mihirashi."

A little while later, as Meramon-San began to walk back to his mountain, while the Yokomon and us DigiDestined watched him leave.

Then another Yokomon said, "Goodbye, Meramon, may you always stay well. Goodbye! And please try not to burn down our village anymore, okay?"

Biyomon-San then seemed to realized something and she turned to us and said, "Hey! I just remembered you never got that dinner we promised you. You must be starving!"

Then I heard my stomach grumble and I lightly laughed and said, "Yeah, I could go for something to eat!"

TK-San nodded with a wide smile and he said, "My tummy's ready for some action!"

Then all of us sat down to bowls of some mysterious Yokomon dish it looked a lot like bird seed. 'Kuso, I was hoping for fruit, not this. Watashi no fakku.'

Tai-Nii looked down at the mysterious meal, then he asked, "What is this stuff?"

Mimi-San lightly slapped Nii-San in the arm, then she said, "Be polite and just eat it. A gracious guest never insults his host's cooking."

Tai-Nii looked at the meal with a look that said he might puke, then he said, "Hm. I can't tell if it's even been cooked."

I looked at my bowl of what looks like bird seed and lightly pushed it away and said, "You know what? I'm not that hungry. What about you Doru-San?"

I didn't get an answer, and being slightly worried, I turned to where my Digimon partner was sitting, and saw him looked at the bird seed with a glare that can only be described as waiting for the bowl to either change into something edible, or he was trying to make his food spontaneous combust. Seeing this caused me to lightly chuckle as I thought, 'Guess he doesn't like it either. Hehe, I should've known.'

Then I heard Biyomon-San happily say, "Eat as much as you want. We have more than enough for seconds."

Joe-San looked down at his bowl of bird seed and made a barfing sound effect, then he said, "Yeah, well, there's probably a good reason for that."

Then I heard Sora-San sigh in, what I think to be… relief? Possibly defeat, or even, annoyance, then she said, "You know, that's exactly what I was afraid you were going to say, Joe-San."

I looked over to TK-San, who was looking at his plate in curiosity then he sniffed it, and he said, "It smells better than broccoli. Who knows, might taste better!"

Then I looked at the young Takaishi and softly smiled at his innocence and optimism, then I thought, 'Oh, TK-San, you're an ever cheerful and kind hearted kid, if only the world was like you, oh how beautiful it would be.'

Then I heard Matt-San ask, "Has anybody noticed? We talk a lot about food."

I laughed, noticing it as well, but not really caring for it and I said, "Not really, Matt-San. Not until now, at least."

Sora-San shook her head, but I could a slight smile on her face as she said, "Nah, I'm not hungry."

I watched as Joe-San nodded, agreeing with Sora-San and he said, "I'm skipping this one too. I just don't like to eat on an empty stomach. Besides, I don't even know what that stuff is, but I'm sure I'm allergic to it!"

Then I lightly laughed at Joe-San's line and thought, 'And there's Joe-San with his ever popular motto of 'I don't what it is, but I'm pretty sure that I'm allergic to it.' I swear, the kid would lose his head if it wasn't attached to him.'

Then I looked over all of my friends, my fellow DigiDestined with a smile clear on my face, and I thought, 'Even the greatest of heroes, were just newbies at one point or another. A martial arts master was once a student. Famous actors were once nobodies. People that no one has heard of before, but no matter what, they all have their friends, their family, and, their loved ones by their sides.' I took out my notebook and began adding the days events in it.

While I was writing, I smiled at my team, my friends, my family. Then I felt someone tap my shoulder and I looked up and saw Izzy-San looking at me, then he asked, "Hey Luke-San, I noticed something back when we were fighting Meramon-San. Do you think you can fill me in on what happened to Dorumon-San today?"

Then I blinked, slightly confused by his question, until it hit me and, in a panic momement, I thought, 'Oh, kuso! He noticed that, didn't he!? What do I do!? What do I do!? Kuso. Kuso, Kuso, kuso KUSO!' Then I closed my eyes and took a few breaths, centering myself, then I reopened my eyes and in a voice that was as curious and confused as I could make it, I asked, "What do you mean, Izzy-San?"

Izzy-San then sat down right next to me and said, "During the battle with Meramon-San, I noticed that Dorumon-San suddenly picked up speed at an incredibly short amount of time. I want to know, how did that happen?"

I looked at Izzy-San for a while trying to figure out what to tell him, then I thought, 'Okay, I could tell him about the how I used the Modify Cards and be done with it, but, how can I explain to him how I knew it would work?'

I sighed in defeat, knowing that I had to at least tell a half truth. 'I'll tell him that I was desperate to save Sora-San that I just used my cards, and somehow, they worked.' I knew that it was risky, but, I just had to trust my friends.

I looked towards Izzy-San and I said, "Well, one minute I was trying to help Sora out as fast as possible, and then, I decided to take a chance, and, I took out my HyperChip trading card, then I swiped it through this slot, and then, Dorumon-San went from zero to sixty in zero point three seconds."

I hoped that Izzy-San would accept my answer, while it wasn't a complete lie, I wasn't ready to tell him the full truth, just a small part of it. And hoped that he'd leave it be, then he nodded and asked, "So, it was almost like your desire to protect your friends, that caused a simple trading card to allow Dorumon-San to obtained a sudden boost of adrenaline to help out a comrade in dire need of help that allowed him to move faster in such a short amount of time to help, is that what you're saying?"

I looked at him puzzled for a moment, while I was trying to decode Izzy-San's puzzling words, then when I did decipher it, I said, "Yeah, something like that. Is that what you wanted to know, Izzy-San?"

The future DigiDestined of Knowledge nodded and said, "Yeah, thanks for clearing that up for me, Luke-San." Then he got up and went back to the others.

I smiled and waved at him gave him a small smile and said, "Sure thing. No problem, Izzy-San!" Then I thought, 'Crud! Crud! And crud! That was close! If Izzy-San had asked about why I had yelled out, I guess I could have told him that something just came over me, but I don't know. And maybe he wanted to ask about me yelling, but probably thought that I was in a trance or something. Oh, boy. Watashi o fakku.'

I silently swore to myself as I looked down at my adventure journal, then I silently thought, 'Yeah, I hate lying to the DigiDestined, but I'm not sure how they will handle things. Oh, well.'

And so, another day comes to an end, and more mysteries begin to unfold, what awaits of heroes next time? Will I be able to gather up the courage to tell his friends the truth about who he really is? And will they be able to handle it? Answers to all those questions and more will be revealed as the story continues, so stay tuned and find out on Digimon: New Life!

To Guest: I like your idea for the BlackGatomon, or as I would call her, ShadowGatomon, and while I would probably get hated on if I received a second partner, I could probably make it work, but I'm not certain of it yet, besides, maybe I could change the D-Ark to allow two partners, now I want to have something, unique, if I do this, I think that instead of the D-Ark having two card slots, it should change entirety kind of like how TK's and Kari's Digivices changed into D-3's in season 02, but I'm not sure yet. But, if I could, I'll let you know! Also, I won't put up any more quotes for the moment, Except for this one.
