Thechaosmaster: What's up all? Thechaosmaster here back with another and this one is quite a doozy. Now then, before we get on with the story, I just want to make one thing clear, Shadow Gatomon is going to be kind of like, the sass mistress, she will make sarcastic remarks and just be the sassy character in the story. Now, because I don't want to waist any more time, here is the quote of the chapter.

Thechaosmaster: Yahoo! It's good to be back in the saddle!

Red: Wow, you're back at this again, Chaos? I was beginning to think that you love jumping from story to story.

Chaos: Honestly, Blossom, why must you always make fun of me? I mean, Kurivolt is very friendly towards me, and he always has ways of supporting me. Must you constantly harass me?

Blossom: Well, Kurivolt was your oldest muse, he has been with you since the very start, but he was also your closest Duel Monster spirit. I, on the other hand, have only been with you for six months.

Chaos: *sigh* I know, Blossom, I know. How about we get back on track with this opening?

Blossom: Okay. Hey everyone, and welcome to the new updated version of Devimon's Dark Reveal.

Chaos: Right, not much has changed, maybe a few modified sentences, added the honorifics. Note that, I decided that Rouge will not be using the honorifics, yet. I feel that it will be something that she picks up after bonding more with Luke and Olette.

Blossom: Right, speaking of our favorite couple, Chaos has been making their romance more, well developed, this edit in particular really brings up something that, strangely, hasn't been brought up before.

Chaos: Yes, we won't say what it is, just read for yourselves.

Blossom: I'll take that as my cue to roll the disclaimer. Thechaosmaster owns no rights to Digimon, Yugioh, or their characters, we all belong to our proper owners, Chaos only owns his own created characters, Lukas and Olette. This story is not meant to make Chaos money, only entertainment. Please read and Review.

Chapter 8: Devimon's Dark Reveal

"From Light comes Darkness, and from darkness, light." Alodi, Warcraft the movie.

So, time for a recap. After the two battles that took place on Infinity Mountain. The first was between me, Doru-San and a Black Gear possessed Shadow Gatomon-San, which pushed me and Doru-San so much that it led to the both of us being knocked out.

But, while my mind was being destroyed for some unknown reason, and with a temporary case of amnesia, but, Olette-San's voice cut through the darkness, and brought me back to myself. Then, after me, Doru-San, and Olette-Chan, uh, I mean Olette-San, met up together in my mind, we swore that we would work together to defeat the black cat.

And that soon led to Dorumon-San being able to finally Digivolve into his champion form, Dorugamon. And not soon after that, we had a second being, Dorugamon-San, Greymon-San, and Birdramon-San fighting against the champion level, Unimon-San, but it didn't go so well, with our new ally, Shadow Gatomon-San being exhausted from being beaten up by Dorugamon-San, who was still fresh from the same battle, he was soon forced back into Dorumon-San.

And with us out of the fight, we watched as Joe-Baka finally did something besides complain about everything, and was able to get Gomamon-San to Digivolve into Ikkakumon, and was able to destroy the Black Gear.

However, Shadow Gatomon-San, after our fight said that she was indebted to me and Dorumon-San, at first I told her that she could repay her debt by helping save Joe-San, but when she learned that she wasn't the only one effected by the Black Gears, she swore to repay her debts by helping stop whoever is behind these Black Gears, *CoughcoughDevimoncoughcough* Ehehm, sorry about that. Boy, can this journey get any crazier?

After the madness at the mountain, and me explaining to the other about our new traveling companion, we all started traveling down a new path, and it was peaceful, that is, if you don't count Joe-Baka's annoying complaints. "Boy, this place could really use a good bus system."

But then we had to stop, seeing how the path that we were on, reached it's end, and Matt-San said, "Yeah, but it looks like we're at the end of the line."

"Well, that''s a bummer." I said truthfully, knowing that we're going to have to find another path to take. "I mean, we come up all this way, get into two fights, and all we get is a nice spot to watch the sunrise." I lightly smiled and said, "I can enjoy this."

Then Joe-Baka fell to his knees, with a look that clearly says that he's given up hope and said, "We're doomed...Trapped on an island...We'll never get out of here alive."

Then Shadow Gatomon-San said in an annoyed tone, "Well thanks for the words of motivation, Kyaputendaunā. Why don't you say something a little bit more cheerful?"

Sora-San folded her arms and asked, "Are you going to be like that all the time, Shadow Gatomon-San? Because that is kind of rude, just so you know."

Shadow Gatomon shrugged and said, "Well excuse me if I find this guy to be a real downer. I like Gomamon better then this guy. At least he's thinking positive. And please, don't be all honorific with me. I don't like being all formal, it's not in my nature."

Sora-San sighed and looked at me and said, "Luke-San, can you kindly talk to Shadow Gatomon about her attitude? It's getting kinda annoying. Plus, I feel like she's being kinda rude with the way she's talking to us."

I looked at her and sighed as I said, "Trust me, I would if I could, Sora-San, but she herself stated that she's not the formal type. Plus, she's not being rude, not everyone we meet will be formal. Plus, I have to agree with her on this one, none of us really have a problem with this, yes, we all want to go home, but if we all act like Joe-San, then we're not going to get anywhere."

Then Joe-San decided to be annoying, depressing, and all around, sorry sourpuss, as he said, "I knew I wouldn't like camp, but would my folks listen to me? Noooo. I wanted to go to summer school."

Then, a voice echoed in my head, 'Hey, Luke-San. Come in Luke-San. Can you hear me?' I heard Dorumon-San's voice in my head call out.

'I read you loud and clear, bud. What's up?' I asked through our connection. We had learned that, after Dorumon-San Digivolved into Dorugamon, that we now had a mental connection, and are able to talk to one another through our minds. I think Olette-San likes it the most, because now she can talk to Dorumon-San like she can me.

'Do you know when Joe-San's gonna stop complaining, or is Shadow Gatomon-San gonna knock Joe out first?' Dorumon-San asked me, knowing that something was bound to happen.

I lightly chuckled and jokingly thought, 'My yen is that, more then likely, Shadow Gatomon is gonna knock him out.'

I could feel Olette-San sigh in somewhat annoyance, and somewhat humor as she humorously asked, "Are you two really gonna bet on who does what first?"

To which I lightly chuckled and replied with, 'It's no bet, Olette-San. Shadow Gatomon is gonna knock Joe-Baka out one of these days. And that's the truth.'

Olette-San sighed at my answer, but I couldn't tell if she was simply annoyed with my answer, or something. But most likely, she is silently chuckling as well, call it a feeling, but don't ask how to explain it. Then I heard Olette-San say, "Just be sure to keep her from ending the poor boy, because that would just be horrible."

I only gave Olette-San a simple nod and thought, 'All right, I promise you that if I see Shadow Gatomon about to harm Joe-San, I will not stand there with a video camera, recording everything, and instead I will try to stop her.' I said with honesty and with laughter slowly entering as well.

I got an disapproving sigh as she said, "Honestly, what am I going to do with you, Lukas-San?" But for some reason, that one comment made my heart flutter ever so slightly.

I didn't say anything, mostly because I didn't know what to say, but I did smile wildly. Then I noticed Tai-Nii looking out with his telescope and me, Dorumon-San, and a board looking Shadow Gatomon walked up to him, and I heard Agumon-San ask, "What are you doing?"

Tai-Nii down at the forest below, before looking back down at whatever it is that he was doing and said, "Making a map of the island, that way we'll know exactly where we are and where we've already been."

I couldn't resist the smile on my face, happy to know that Nii-San was actually using that brain of his. I gave him a single nod, as I said, "That sounds pretty clever, Tai-Nii."

But then Izzy-San walked up on us and said, "Yes, that works in theory."

But then we all walked up to Tai-Nii to see the map that he had made, and our eyes bulge to the sizes of dinner plates as we said, "NANI?!"

Then Izzy-San looked over to Nii-San and asked, "Did you say 'map' or 'mess'?"

And there was plenty of reason to question my Nii-San's 'map' first off, was nothing but a bunch of squiggly lines and nonsense. And even Matt-San had to agree as he said, "No question, you're the dude of doodles."

I sighed at Tai-Nii's 'artwork' and said, "Honestly, Nii-San. And here I was thinking that you actually managed to make a map of the island, and it turns out to look worse then chicken scratch. Yeash."

Then Sora-San looked down at the map and said, "If you follow that map, it will lead right to a headache!"

Then Tai-Nii angrily turned to us and said, "Well, I can read it just fine, that's the important thing."

Shadow Gatomon then took one look at the map and, in a deadpan voice said, "Seriously? You call that thing a map? A freshly hatched Digimon could draw a better map than that."

This caused almost all of us to laugh, and by 'almost all of us' I really mean, everyone but Tai-Nii, who angrily said, "Hey! Take that back!"

To which Shadow Gatomon simply said, "Why should I?"

Meanwhile, as those two began to argue, we all heard Joe-San, who was still being a downer, sadly said, "We don't need a map to know we're lost. I figured that out a long time ago."

And, unfortunately, this brought Shadow Gatomon's attention onto himself, and, well, she charged at him. "That does it! I'm gonna clobber him!" Said Shadow Gatomon, who had a Phantom Claw charged up and began running at Joe-San.

But me and Dorumon-San grabbed a hold of her saying, "Shadow Gatomon, stop! He's our friend!" Man, this kitty's tougher than she seems. Let it be known, even if she was a small cat, she was still a champion leveled Digimon, and was stronger then she looks.

"I don't care if he was creator of the DigiWorld! I'm still gonna silence him for good!" Shadow Gatomon said to me while struggling to get out of our hands.

We were struggling to keep Shadow Gatomon from deleting Joe-San when we all heard the sounds of something crashing in the distance. "What was that?" I asked, already having a bad feeling about this.

Then Joe-San stood straight up, and responded with, "I don't know. But looks like we're gonna wait around here to find out."

Then Sora-San looked in the direction of where the sound came from and said, "At least it won't be a long wait."

Then we all saw a tall, muscular bipedal lion, wearing black pants, had a golden main, had a short sword resting on the back of his pant, and his left hand had, what looks to be brass knuckles, and he had several belts wrapped around his left wrist.

Then Patamon-San happily flapped his large wings/ears and said, "Don't worry, Leomon-San is our friend."

And Takaishi-San started to bite his fingernails as he responded fearfully with, "With big teeth."

And Patamon-San nonchalantly, and cheerfully said, "He just uses them for smiling."

And Gabumon-San nodded and he said, "He is a just leader and role model for all Digimon."

But, I noticed that Shadow Gatomon was glaring at the large lion, then she said, "Yeah? But it doesn't look like he's smiling now."

And almost to prove her point, Leomon-San said, "I want the children!"

Everyone was taken back by this, but I wasn't, I was done fooling around, I took out my D-Ark, turned to my partner and black cat and I said, "Dorumon-San, Shadow Gatomon, get ready. It's time to tussle."

And then, both Digimon took up a battle stance ready to fight Leomon-San. Then Joe-San started looking around and he said, "Call me paranoid, but I think it's time we RUN!"

Then I heard Olette-San say, "I agree with Joe for once, Lukas-San. While you may have the advantage in numbers, this in not the place to fight. Run!"

I nodded, agreeing with the spectral entity in my mind and I said, "Let's get out of here, now!" Shadow Gatomon and Dorumon-San nodded, then the three of us followed the other DigiDestined.

As we were running, Tai-Nii lost his so called map, so he turned around and said, "Oh, no! My map!"

Tai-Nii turned around to try to retrieve his 'map' and Agumon-San said, "Tai-San! Come back! Forget the map!"

I turned to him and said, "Forget the map, Baka! And keep running!"

Just then Leomon-San appeared, glaring at the duo, then Agumon-San stood in front of Tai-Nii and shouted, "Pepper Breath!" And fired a small burst of fire from his mouth, Leomon blocked the attack, but Tai-Nii's 'map' went up in flames.

Then Agumon-San backed up a bit and said, "Sorry about your map."

And Tai-Nii turned around and responded with, "That's okay, at least it didn't fall into the hands of the enemy!" Then they both started running again.

I would have made a sarcastic remark about the map being completely useless, but I was too busy running for my life. But things only got worse from here. As we were running down the mountain, I heard Matt-San yell out, "Don't slow down, Joe-San, he's right behind us!"

And that is where things went from bad to worse. From behind the mountain trail, jumped out a green goblin or ogre like Digimon with long white horns with small orange stripes on them, a long white main, and covered in black armor, he was also carrying a large spiked bony club.

"Oh, no! Not another problem!" I said in disbelief at seeing Ogremon-Baka standing right in front of us.

He smiled smugly at us as asked, "Just where do you think you're going?"

We all stopped in fear as we had two powerful Digimon on both of our sides, then Ogremon-Teme said, "Well, children, so good of you to stop by."

Then Patamon-San shivered a bit and asked, "Does he look hungry to you?"

Shadow Gatomon hissed at the Shrek reject, and she said, "That's Ogremon, he's as ruthless as he is ugly. I may be a Virus attributed Digimon, but Ogremon is one who takes pleasure in the evil he does. If there is a Digimon that would work for the most ruthless of evil lords, it is him. His Pummel Whack will leave you with one major headache, it is a deadly attack and dangerous, but only comes in second to his bad breath."

"We're too small to eat!" Exclaimed TK-San, who started to back away in fear.

But then I glared at the disgusting ogre and said, "I hate to say it Takeru-San, but I don't think he cares if we're too small to eat or not."

"Well, I'm full of junk food." Said the young TK-San, who was trying hide himself behind his own Nii-San.

Then Gomamon-San responded with, "Well, he's not against a little snack." I knew that he was trying to lighten the tense mood, but, at the moment, it wasn't working.

Then I looked behind us and saw Leomon-San was coming up at us. Leomon-San then said, "Make it easy on yourselves, give up now...or else!"

I watched as Matt-San began looking around us, and said, "I don't see an exit door."

Then Izzy-San stated, "This proves a theory that well executed teamwork is efficient even for bad guys."

Then Biyomon-San flapped her wings and said, "But Leomon-San is Ogremon-San's worst enemy, what's happened to them?"

Then Shadow Gatomon turned to me and she asked, "You think a Black Gear is Behind this, Lukas?"

I wanted to say yes, without a doubt, but, I noticed that blank look in the lions eyes. They were like looking into the abyss, and I shook my head and said, "Something tells me, that this is not the case this time. I think, it's much worse than that."

We were stuck between a rock and a hard place as the two Champion level Digimon got closer and closer to us. Then Ogremon-Teme asked, "Ready Leomon? Chaaarge!" Then he jumped in the air with his bone club at the ready. And Leomon-San jumped shortly after him.

We were stuck, that was when I snapped out of my fear and glared at the two Digimon, then the multiple sounds of Digivices went off at once.

D-I-G-I-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N

"Agumon Digivolve too...Greymon!"

"Gabumon Digivolve too...Garurumon!"

"Palmon Digivolve too...Togemon!"

Then Togemon-San, Garurumon-San, and Greymon-San all charged at Leomon-San, knocking him back, then the others decided to join the party.

"Dorumon Digivolve too...Dorugamon!"

"Biyomon Digivolve too...Birdramon!"

"Tentomon Digivolve too...Kabuterimon!"

"Gomamon Digivolve too...Ikkakumon!"

Then the last remaining Digimon that can reach champion level Digivolved and Dorugamon-San, Birdramon-San, Kabuterimon-San, and Ikkakumon-San all charged at Ogremon-Baka, and pushed him back.

"Awesome! Now we're cooking with fire!" I said with joy at seeing seven Champions take on two.

Shadow Gatomon then shook her head, almost as if she could feel that something was off, and she said, "Don't celebrate just yet."

Then I saw turned back to the youngest member, just in time to watch Matt-San grab TK-San hand and said, "Come with me, Otouto!"

"Let him have it, Greymon-San!" I heard my brothers voice call out, causing me to turn back to the fight.

Then I heard Greymon-San shout out, "Nova Blast!" And fired a large ball of flames at Leomon-San, but Leomon-San blocked it with his sword.

Me and my partner shared a wild smirk. "It's chow time, Dorugamon-San! And the special of the day, is Ogre Stew!" I said with a small bit of glee in my voice.

"Power Metal!" Dorugamon-San shouted out as he fired a large iron ball at Ogremon-Teme, and stunning him.

Then Ikkakumon-San decided that he didn't want to be left out of the fight, and he shouted, "Harpoon Torpedo!" And fired off a single torpedo that released many missiles at the giant ogre.

I smiled, knowing that we have him on the ropes now and turned to the others as Togemon-San unleashed a Needle Spray at Leomon-San.

Then I turned back to my fight and heard Tai-Nii shout out, "Listen up, everybody all together now!"

I could see Nii-San's idea, and I agreed with him. I looked to everyone and said, "You heard Nii-San! All together now! You guys ready?"

Then me and Tai-Nii both looked at each other, it was just like our younger school years, some group of bullies picking on our friends or Hikari-Chan, and we stood together, knocking them out, and the look we shared, was just like those days, we both nodded, then we shouted out, "Now!"

But, just as everyone was about to attack, the top of Infinity Mountain exploded, then Joe-San shouted out, "Avalanche, watch out!"

We all watched as all of the Digivolved Digimon worked together to destroy the falling rocks, Shadow Gatomon included. After the avalanche was stopped, all that was left was a cloud of dust, and Tai-Nii asked, "Wow! Is everybody okay?"

I nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm fine. Dorugamon-San? Shadow Gatomon? You two okay?" I asked the two Digimon. When I didn't get an answer, I grew concerned, I turned to where the Digimon were, and gasped. Shadow Gatomon was on the ground, looking like she got ran over by a heard of Monochromon, and Dorugamon-San had reverted back to Dorumon.

I ran up to the two of them and asked, "Guys! What happened to you two?" I first checked on my partner, making sure that he was still breathing.

Then I heard Dorumon-San weakly say, "We're just exhausted, Luke-San. Besides, if anything, it's just a scratch." And I watched as he slowly sat up, giving me a fanged smile.

Once I was positive that he would be okay, I went to check up on Shadow Gatomon, and helped her slowly get up, she looked at me and said, "Yeah, I am still recovering from the beat down that you two gave me. A little rest and relaxation, and I would be able to fight off any Digimon that gets in my way."

I chuckled at the way these two acted, they were quite different, but similar at the same time. I shook my head, and said, "Yeah, two Digivolutions and three battles in one day, it's no wonder you guys need a rest. Here, Dorumon-San can ride on my back and I'll carry Shadow Gatomon in my arms. How does that sound?"

Shadow Gatomon tried to stand up and said, "No, I won't be carried, I can, ugh, I can walk on my own." Then she fell onto the ground, looking a little worse for wear. I had to give this cat some credit, she was stubborn, and it looked like she hated looking weak. Which is a major difference compared to how she was after freeing her from that Black Gear.

I knelt down and lightly picked her up and I softly said, "There is no need for you to push yourself, I'll carry you both. You guys just take a nice along rest."

I could see Shadow Gatomon wanting to struggle, but then I settled her into my arms, and she stopped squirming, and she soon started to get comfortable, and she fell asleep. I lightly chuckled, then I turned to Dorumon-San and knelt down, with my back facing him and I said, "Come on, bud, you're gonna have to work with me on this one."

Dorumon-San nodded and slowly climbed onto my back, at first I struggled with standing up with him on my back. Say what you will about me, I may be short, and young, but, by Kami-Sama, my stubbornness knows no bounds. And, while it took me much effort, but I was able to stand with Doru-San on my back.

Then, as I was fully on my feet, I heard Izzy-San ask, "Hey! What happened to the bad guys?" I looked around and saw that both Leomon-San and Ogremon-Baka were missing.

"They just disappeared!" Tai-Nii exclaimed in shock. And it's not hard to question why. One minute, we're about to clean house, and then, poof, their gone.

"Are you sure?" Palmon-San asked the brains behind our group, I could see the confusion on her face.

Then Gabumon-San walked over to the edge of the mountain and he asked, "Do you think that avalanche knocked them both off the cliff?"

Joe-San then looked down the cliff and shouted, "Hello?" Then he turned back to us and said, "Unless they both can fly, they're goners."

I slowly looked to the others and I shook my head, and I said, "Doubt it. The avalanche didn't get them, they ran away. Most likely, ugh, most likely they used the avalanche as a distraction to get away. And I doubt that we have seen the last of them."

Tai-Nii and the others looked at me in confusion, then Nii-San asked, "Are you sure, Otouto? I mean, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind if they just ran away. But I doubt that they had actually escaped the avalanche."

Sora-San nodded, agreeing with the Goggle-Headed leader, and said, "Yeah, neither one of them had wings. So, I'm sure that they weren't air-worthy, Luke-San."

Then Joe-San stood up and he exclaimed, "Nothing is logical here! Anything is possible, including flying monsters."

Then I felt Dorumon-San move around, then he looked up at Joe-San and asked, "You talking about me now?"

I lightly chuckled and turned to my partner and said, "Well, Doru-San, you're not the only one who can fly. Biyomon-San and Patamon-San can fly as well, you know that, right?"

Doru-San simply stuck out his tongue and said, "Well forgive me if I feel like passing out, Luke-San."

Sora-San then turned to Joe-San and said, "For once, you might be right, Joe-San."

I nodded, agreeing with the helmet wearing girl, even though I didn't want to admit it, but Joe-San being right usually left a bad taste in my mouth. I looked around, double and triple checking the area around us, making sure we didn't miss anything, then I said, "See? I told you. I'd say we better get while the getting is good."

I then heard Agumon-San's voice and I turned to both him and my Ani and Agumon-San asked, "Something bothering you, Tai-San?"

Nii-San then placed his hand on his chin and he said, "That avalanche I can't figure out what set it off."

"Stress accumulates until a crack develops, and with access weight, the terra firma suddenly isn't so firma." Izzy-San said as he plugged in his usual scientific analysis.

Me and Tai-Nii then walked up to Izzy-San and Tai-Nii asked, "You think so?"

I thought about it for a while, I couldn't see a flaw in his explanation, even though I didn't have much of a clue as to what Izzy-San had said. I turned to Nii-San and said, "I agree with Izzy-San on this one, Ani. I mean, for all we know, this mountain could be a inactive volcano for all we know."

Then Matt-San walked up to us and asked, "Well, why don't we keep moving? No need for us being here anymore."

We all agreed, then I felt Dorumon-San moving and he said, "Luke-San, I'm good now, I can walk on my own."

I looked at him and asked, "You sure, bud? I mean, I can carry you if you want."

Doru-San shook his head and said, "No, I'm good, you need more strength to carry Shadow Gatomon, anyways."

Said black cat's ears twitched and weakly asked, "Hey! Are you calling me fat?" Out of nowhere, Shadow Gatomon seemed to get a second wind as she tried to claw her way out of my arms and onto Dorumon-San's face. All the while, she was yelling, "Let me at him! I want to make him my new scratching post!"

I held her back with all my strength, but it still felt like I was trying to hold back a train. I looked down at the enraged cat and thought, 'She may be a cat, but she's still a Champion level Digimon.' Then I held her tighter and said, "Easy there, you. He did not mean that. He just meant that it would be easier for me to carry you and not fall on my face, if he walked, that is all. Right, Doru-San?"

I asked my partner as I stared at him over my shoulder with a slight glare. Say what you want, I know better then to push a girls buttons, that means, never do it unless you want to lose something important.

Dorumon-San looked down at the rage filled feline, and I saw the sweat drip from his face as he nodded lightly and said, "Yeah, that is all I meant, honest. I swear."

Shadow Gatomon then nodded slowly, and she said, "I'm watching you, Gem Head." Then she went back to sleeping in my arms.

I lightly chuckled at the way Shadow Gatomon can just change personalities like flipping a coin. Then I heard Olette-San giggle a bit and said, "She's feisty, I like her. And when she's sleeping, she looks sooo cute!"

I sweat dropped at Olette-San's comment about Shadow Gatomon, 'She's not so 'cute' when she's trying to claw your face off.' I thought deadpanned to the girl.

Doru-San decided that now would be a good time to get of my back, he fell slightly, but as I went to help him, he stood up on his own and said, "I'm good, Luke-San."

I nodded, but watching my partner carefully, didn't want him to fall on his face or anything. I looked down at the now sleeping Shadow Gatomon, she seemed so peaceful like this, now, I would have simply rested in my backpack, but didn't want to take a chance with her, and have her mess with my stuff. I only have a limited amount of pens and paper. So, I simply carried her.

Then I looked up and saw that the others were continuing on their trek up the mountain, I hurried up after them, then I heard Tai-Nii say, "It looked to me like something had blasted it loose."

That seemed to strike a nerve with me, and I quickly looked up the mountain and glared, trying to see if there was a Digimon up there. 'Could that have been Devimon-Teme showing his ugly mug?' I thought to myself, but I shook my head, not wanting to get distracted at the moment and decided to keep up with my friends.

After a long walk, we entered, what a surprise, another forest, and the sun was setting, then Izzy-San said, "I'm intrigued that our Digimon were able to Digivolve twice in one day."

Then I placed my hand to my chin and said, "Maybe that means that our partners are getting stronger, and are now able to Digivolve more often now." Thinking that is the reason. "After all, experience is everything."

Tai-Nii simply placed both of his hands behind his head and said, "Well, whatever the reason, it was sure lucky for us that they were able to do it."

Then Sora-San looked back at me and said, "I think Lukas-San may be right about the Digimon growing stronger. Makes me wonder if that's a normal part of their evolution or if we're bringing out something special in them."

Izzy-San got a curious expression on his face, then he said, "A fascinating hypothesis if only we could test it..."

Then I looked at the others, seeing the looks of wonder a their partners growth in strength, then I said, "Please remember to be careful of what you wish for, I don't want to wake up tomorrow and see scorched terrain. We are trying not to attract attention to ourselves, remember?" It was at that moment that I actually felt like I was the responsible one.

Then Matt-San looked at me with a single nod, and he said, "I agree with Luke-San. I think today was just too much for them."

Then I heard Mimi-San say, "Palmon-San's looking very tired."

I looked over to Palmon-San, who looked like she was withering, but she seemed to trying to be strong as she said, "I've been tired before don't worry."

Then Biyomon-San looked over to Palmon-San and said, "Admit it, Palmon-San, we need to stop and rest."

I looked over to Dorumon-San, who had grabbed a large branch to hold himself up. Then I looked over to Shadow Gatomon, who was still fast asleep in my arms, and I said, "Yeah, I agree with Biyomon-San, Shadow Gatomon's out cold, and Dorumon-San looks like a zombie. I think we should all stop here and set up camp."

Then Joe-San looked at all of us and said, "You know, to be perfectly honest, I'd think that'd be a good idea for all of us."

But then Sora-San asked, "Rest where? I don't want to sleep on the ground."

Then Joe-San looked to his right and his eyes widened in shock as he shouted, "Look! A mansion!"

We all looked over to where Joe-San was pointing, and indeed there, right in front of us was a large building, then Tai-Nii said, "Or maybe it's a hotel come on!"

I was too tired to even think about the odds of a mansion being in the middle of the forest, if I had, then maybe what happened tonight might have been avoided. But instead, all of us, besides Shadow Gatomon, all ran towards the mansion in haste, then Izzy-San said, "We may have found other life forms. Look at the grounds the lawns are mowed perfectly."

When we finally arrived at the front door, Tai-Nii exclaimed, "What a place I can't believe my eyes! It's just too good to be true!"

That was when I stopped, 'It is too good to be true.' I thought to myself. I was trying to remember where I had seen this mansion before. But I was to tired to allow my memories to come to me.

Then I heard Joe-San say, "I hope they have a hot tub. Just as long as it's not too hot."

And that was when my rational brain stopped working, "Yeah, me too. I need a nice relaxing bath." And, just like that, the search for memories of the show ended, and all I cared for was rest and relaxation.

That was when we all started running to the mansion, but then Tai-Nii shouted out, "Wait, you guys don't just go charging in there, it might be dangerous!"

Then, with a massive smile on my face, I turned to Ani and said, "Yeah, and there might be some food in there as well. And I am not gonna pass up a chance to take a shower." Then, I ran inside of the building, not knowing what fate had in store for me.

Then I approached Joe-San and Matt-San who were at the door, and Matt-San said, "Go ahead, Joe-San, open the door."

But Joe-San was looking worried and he said, "Maybe we should knock first."

I rolled my eyes, five days, it has been five days and I am ready to blow a casket because of Joe-Baka. I turned to the annoying little man child and said, "Seriously, Joe-San? No one knocks on the doors of a hotel."

Then Matt-San nodded, agreeing with the obvious logic as he said, "He's right, you know. Just open the door and be done with it."

Then Joe-San sighed in defeat and he said, "Yeah, I guess you're right. Well, here it goes." Then Joe-San finally opened up the door, then he said, "I don't see a desk clerk. Anybody here?"

Then Tai-Nii looked around the empty building and said, "It looks weird."

Then I felt a chill run up my spine and said, "It feels weird." There was something about this place that just, made me feel uncomfortable.

Then Joe-San walked inside and said, "Well, it doesn't look or feel weird to me."

Then Izzy-San looked at Joe-San and said, "Perhaps my definition of weird is different then yours."

I nodded, still feeling a cold chill run down my spine as said, "I believe you're right, Izzy-San, and if that is the case, then this fits into my definition of weird, one hundred percent."

I looked over to see Sora-San rubbing her arms as she nodded and said, "I'm with you guys on this one."

Then Joe-San turned around and said, "Think about it, are we safer in the woods, with no shelter, or here in this building where we can defend from an attack?"

I sighed in defeat and, I really hated saying it but, "Man, it doesn't happen often, but I still hate it when you make sense, Joe-San. Let's get this done and over with."

Matt-San then folded his arms and said, "I have to admit, you have a point."

Then Takeru-Kun then slowly walked in and stopped in front of a painting and said, "That's beautiful!"

We all looked at what Takeru-Kun said was beautiful, and saw an image of an angle. Then Joe-San went, "Oh, yeah." He too, was impressed by the painting.

"Look. It's an angle!" Takeru-Kun said with amazement in his voice.

Then Patamon-San looked towards his young friend and asked, "What's an Angle, Takeru-San?"

And then I had to blink as I saw Mimi just randomly appear from thin air, 'I swear, she wasn't here a moment ago.' I shook my head as I thought, 'I'm probably just tired and I didn't see her come in.'

Then Takeru-Kun looked down at the hedgehog Digimon and said, "Something special that watches over you, kind of like you guys."

Then Joe-San turned to us and pointed at the painting as he said, "If this is a spooked-out haunted house, I don't think there'd be pictures of angles on the walls."

Sora-San then put her hands on her shoulders and said, "Okay, Joe-San, relax, we just want to be careful. And talk quieter you'll wake everybody up." Sora-San motioned towards the pile of sleeping Digimon, comprised of Gabumon-San, Agumon-San, Doru-San, Gomamon-San, Biyomon-San, and Palmon-San.

And Matt-San looked at the sleeping Digimon and said, "They're out like a light."

I nodded and softly whispered, "Yeah, and I don't think you'll want to wake this one up." I said, motioning towards Shadow Gatomon, then I said, "I'd think it would be better off that you use you inside voice, Joe-San." I decided to softly place Shadow Gatomon down with the rest of the Digimon for the moment, just so I can regain the feeling back into my hands.

Then Mimi-San looked around the giant building and she said, "I hope they have a dress shop, I've never worn the same thing two days in a row before."

Then Izzy-San looked towards us and suggested, "Let's take a nap later."

Then me and Tai-Nii closed the doors, and we woke the others up saying that we can get some sleep later, but they just fell back asleep, standing up. Then Tai-Nii looked around and said, "Well, no crowd. Looks like we might have missed the summer rush."

I nodded, knowing that what Nii-San had stated seems to be true, but, I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about this place, but that feeling, for some reason, kept getting smaller and smaller, then I said, "It looks that way."

Then Sora-San turned to us and said, "We keep missing everything."

Then Tai-Nii folded his arms and looked like he was starting to think about the world we were now in as he said, "This is one kooky, mixed up world."

"That's for sure." I said to Tai-Nii. 'Although, things will start getting stranger as time moves on.' I thought to myself. But Olette-San silently agreed with me.

After a moment of silence, I heard Nii-San's voice call out, "Let's go." Tai-Nii said as he headed for a random location.

That was when Agumon-San woke up and started sniffing the air, and he said, "Huh?" Then he started walking away.

And Gabumon-San soon woke up as well and he asked us, "Do you smell that?"

Matt-San turned to his partner and asked, "I don't smell anything, what is it?"

Then Gabumon-San took another sniff of the air and said, "It's the delicious odor of food!"

Me, Shadow Gatomon, Dorumon-San and everybody else, all asked, "Food? Really?!"

"Are you sure?" Matt-San asked his partner, hoping that there was, indeed, food in the building.

Gabumon-San turned to Yamato-San and nodded as he said, "And plenty of it."

We all smiled and nodded, then Matt-San asked, "Show us where, Gabumon-San!"

Gabumon-San then started walking down a hallway and said, "It's this way, follow me!" Then he ran towards the right of the entrance and we all followed him.

"Yes! Finally! I can eat! I'm so hungry!" I said as I ran towards, what I could only guess to be the dinning hall.

But then I heard Olette-San speak up, but it was the tone of her voice that got my attention, "Lukas-San, I don't like this, something feels, off about this place, I don't know why." Her voice was worried, like, even she, herself could feel something terrible was about to happen.

I kept running to where the food was supposed to be, but thought, 'I don't know idea what you mean, Olette-San, but I will keep a careful watch out tonight. Just to be on the safe side.'

I could feel Olette-San smile at me, then, for a split second, I thought I saw her floating right next to me. And I saw that kind gentle smile on her face. It made me blush ever so slightly. But I quickly shook my head, and continued on the path that I was on, until I saw my destination.

Then I saw Tai-Nii open a door, and in a voice of amazement, I heard him say, "Wow! Look at that spread!"

Just by looking at is, I could feel my mouth start to water, but then I was hit in the face with reality when Matt-San said, "Sorry for saying this, but this looks like a setup."

Then Sora-San looked around and she said, "Matt-San is right. It could be some sort of trap."

But then we all heard the sound of chewing and with wide eyes, we all saw our partners eating, even Shadow Gatomon was eating, with a smile on her face. Then I had finally let my guard down, deciding right then and there, that, no matter what, I was going to eat something. So, I walked past the others and said, "Well, trap or not, I'm hungry, and I am not gonna let those guys enjoy all the food!" Then I ran at the table and started eating.

Then I heard Mimi-San say, "Everyone's eating, but their table manners are appalling,"

I just ignored everyone and continued eating, but I did say, "Dig in everyone, the food's divine."

Then I heard Joe-San snap and say, "That's it! I can't bear to look any longer! I'm gonna eat it, at least I won't die hungry."

I lightly chuckled and just continued on with my meal, and soon, everyone fell into the temptations of the food. After we had eaten, we had found the pool room, and after we took of our shorts and shirts, we jumped in, literally with Tai-Nii. And he made quite the splash, and it caused Matt-San to cry out, "Hey! Watch the hair."

I simply ignored them and enjoyed the water, well, that was until Gomamon-San decided to land on my head, that is. I looked up and asked, "Really, Gomamon?" I could already tell just where this little trouble make came from and asked, "You just had to be on the girls side? What is wrong with you? I'm surprised that Shadow Gatomon didn't shave all of your fur off."

Then I heard Shadow Gatomon yell, "I WOULD HAVE, BUT PALMON-SAN WAS FASTER THAN ME! HE WON'T GET SO LUCKY NEXT TIME!"

I looked at Gomamon-San and took him off my head and said, "Dude, I wish you luck, and prey that I don't get between you and Shadow Gatomon." Then I just threw him into the water, remaining on the boys side.

After our bath time, we all put on some comfy pajamas, and found our rooms, it was decided that the girls would get one side, and the boys would get the other. Me and Dorumon-San got into our bed and I said, "Man! I haven't felt this comfortable since before camp started! Right, Doru-San?"

Dorumon-San nodded as he laid down right next to me, taking up half of the bed as he did so. And Doru-San ain't no small guy, the mon was about up to my elbows. But I simply smiled at my friend as he said, "You said it, Luke-San. It feels like I'm laying on a cloud!"

"I'll say, this is the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on." Said Shadow Gatomon as she acted just like a cat and made the bed more comfortable, then she went to sleep.

Then I heard Joe-San sadly say, "I'll tell you what I don't miss. I don't miss hiking through the blazing hot desert. And another thing I don't miss is starving in the jungle." It was then that Joe-San brought us back down to reality and he said, "Oh... we are a long way from home."

We all became depressed at that notion, not a single one of us said anything, then Joe-San looked down at his hands and said, "Sorry."

But Tai-Nii simply waved his hand as he said, "That's okay, Joe-San."

I nodded, agreeing with Nii-San and I said, "Yeah, it's fine. We all miss home. Nothing to be sorry about."

Then Tai-Nii said, "And I'm sure that we're all wondering if we'll ever get back there."

Then Matt-San laid down and said, "I'll bet our disappearance caused a big fuss at school and all over town. But we've been gone so long, everybody has probably given up looking for us by now."

Then Takeru-Kun looked down sadly as he said, "Kāsan and Tōsan wouldn't stop."

And Tai-Nii hummed in agreement as he said, "Yeah, neither would Kari-Chan."

I looked around at everyone, each one with a sad expression on their faces. I really wanted to say something, anything, I felt like this would have been the perfect time to tell them the truth, "Guys." They all looked at me, and seeing the sadness in their eyes, it just, I couldn't do it. I couldn't just make them more depressed than they already were, and I just couldn't say it, "Never mind, forget it."

Tai-Nii walked up to my bed and sat down next to me then he asked, "What is it, Luke-Chan? What were you going to say?"

I looked down, and just when it felt like I was going to be able to explain everything to them, I looked into Nii-San's eyes, and I lost it. I then looked down sadly and said, "I guess, I just miss home too much. I bet Kari-Chan is worried sick about us right now. I even miss Kāsan's terrible cooking. I'd even have a few liver sticks right about now." Saying that out loud made me want to hurl. "Bleh. Now that I mention it, never mind." The last part was with a slight chuckle.

This caused everyone to lightly chuckle, then Nii-San went back to his bed and me and Doru-San went under our covers and I said, "Well, goodnight everybody, see you in the morning,"

Then a room filled, "Goodnight." was heard and we all went to sleep. But I couldn't really fall asleep. I stared at the ceiling silently for what felt like hours. Olette-San and I talked amongst ourselves, while I silently made my way to the windows, took out my notebook and begun writing.

Olette-San then asked me, "Are you sure you're alright, Lukas-San?" I could tell that she was slightly worried about me, but I smiled ever so slightly as I finished up the most recent 'chapter' of my journal.

'I don't know, Olette-San. I mean, I really wanted to tell them everything, but, I just, couldn't bring myself to tell them.' I thought to Olette-San as I looked at my own reflection in the window.

Olette-San then asked me, "Lukas-San, I know this may be a bit, personal, but, do you remember that day? The day you…"

I heard Olette-San stop for a moment, it seemed like she was having a hard time trying to find her words as well, then I asked, 'Remember what, Olette-San?' She didn't say anything for a while, then I said, 'It's okay, Olette-San, you can ask me anything.'

She was silent for a long time, then, she softly asked, "Do you, do you remember that day?" She sounded, uncertain of herself, and I could feel the uncertainty coming from her. Then she took a deep breath and asked, "Do you remember the day you…died, Lukas-San?"

That one question shocked me, then she said, "Oh, I'm sorry, Lukas-San. I shouldn't have…"

But I shook my head and thought, 'No, it's okay, Olette-San. And, yeah, I remember that day. It's something that I can never forget.' I sighed sadly as I looked up at the moon, then I thought, 'After I was reborn, I had nightmares about that accident until I was five, maybe six years old. Yeah, I passed away peacefully. But, still, you don't just forget something like that.'

Olette-San softly whimpered, she probably could feel the pain I felt when I was remembering it, but I thought, 'You know something?' I looked into my own reflection, and I saw Olette-San, staring right back at me.

I don't know if I was actually seeing her, or if I was starting to suffer from insomnia, but I lightly smiled at her face and said, 'There is an old phrase that I once heard. Dying's easy, living's hard. And I feel that is true.'

Olette-San looked at me in shock as she asked, "What do you mean by that, Lukas-Kun?"

I looked up in shock as I heard that come from her lips, and I lightly blushed at the 'Kun' being added to my name, then I heard some shuffling coming from behind me. I turned and watched as both Nii-San and Agu-San left the room.

I turned my head back to the window and thought, 'What I mean is, it is easy for someone to die. As much as I hate to admit it, someone dies every day. But, living? It takes great strength for someone like me, who has kept a dark secret for so long, to continue to carry on. Bones can break, arms can be lost. A soul can be torn apart. A man could be blinded by grief.'

I don't know where this was coming from, I was never much for philosophy, but, these words just felt, right. 'A good person can lose someone, and become lost in grief, and soon, lose themselves to that grief. But a strong man, who has their souls ripped to shreds, will he still grieve? Yes. Will he feel pain? Yes. But, will he collapse under the pressure of his own grief? No. He will take that pain that has been casted upon himself, and LIVE for those he cherishes. Because, as long as you have something precious, something that you cherish, you can truly become stronger.'

Olette-San was speechless for a few moments, then I said, 'I remember each and every detail of that that like it happened yesterday. But, I don't let that pain blind me, I use it to remind myself something.'

"Remind yourself what, Lukas-Kun?" Olette-San asked me, yet again using the Kun at the end of my name.

I lightly blushed, but, I decided to admit to myself to enjoy this single moment, 'To remind myself that I have been given a second chance at life. And that I shouldn't wast it, Olette-Chan.'

We both stared at each other, lightly blushing, but remaining as we were, and watching the stars twinkle and shimmer in the night sky. We both just sat silently, and I finally felt, relaxed, like, a small weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I finally felt like I was free of my doubts. Oh, how I wish it lasted.

I turned to my resting friends, each one with small smiles on their faces, I turned back to Olette-Chan and thought, 'I think, I think I will tell my friends the truth, Olette-Chan.'

Olette-Chan looked at me in shock, as I stared at her ghostly reflection, then she asked, "Really, Lukas-Kun? Are you positive?"

I nodded, and thought, 'Yeah, talking to you, about that day, it helped ease the doubt that I had about myself. Tomorrow, after we depart from this place, I'll tell them.'

I had finally made my decision, I was going to admit the truth to my friends, and I was going to do so with a small smile on my face. But, that was when everything went sideways. That was when I heard Nii-San's voice call out, "Wake up, everybody, Ogremon-Baka's here!"

That caused everybody to jump out of their beds and while everyone was getting their bearings, I threw off my nighty, I had my real clothes on underneath and, with Dorumon-San and Shadow Gatomon right behind me, we all ran to see Tai-Nii being cornered by Leomon-San, and Nii-San frightfully asked, "Why do you hate me?"

Then we both heard a chilling voice say, "He hates you because I commanded him to hate you!"

All of us looked over the balcony and saw a dark figure that just gives you the chills just by looking at him. 'Devimon-Teme.' I thought to myself. He's just as terrifying in person as he is on the TV. With his black skin, his ripped wings, and his all around demonic look.

Then I heard Agumon-San say, "Be careful, Tai-San, because now the real trouble starts!"

Tai-Nii turned to Agumon-San and asked, "Agumon-San, who is that?"

I ran up to Nii-San and said, "That, Ani, is Devimon-Teme, if there was an evil Digimon that was evil just for the sake of evil, he's your mon."

Tai-Nii looked at me in confusion and asked, "How do you know him? Friend of yours?" I could tell that he was wondering how I knew this wackjobs name.

I shook my head, not wanting to get into the details right now and said, "Not now. Let's just say that this guy is bad news."

Agumon-San nodded and said, "He is. This is the guy who invented the nightmare!"

Then Devimon-Teme smirked viciously and said, "I have no further use for this imaginary building." He then waved his claws.

Then, from behind him, the whole building just, disappeared, like it, then my eyes widened, "It never existed in the first place!" I said in realization.

Then we saw Devimon-Teme raise his hand and said, "Because you are strong together, I will use my touch of evil to scatter you through the Digiworld!" Then me, Nii-San and our Digimon watched as he started juggling our friends.

Then I glared at this jakkasu, and yelled, "Yeah? Well, not if we have anything to say about that!" I pulled out my D-Ark and said, "Dorumon-San, go get him!"

But I heard Dorumon-San whimper, which confused me greatly. I looked at him and saw how weak he was, then I heard Devimon-Teme laughing darkly, then he said, "The food, the bath, the building none of it was real. I created all of it in your imagination."

Then I got angry, and I yelled out, "Listen, you bastard, if you don't put our friends down right now, you are going to regret it!" I heard Nii-San gasp in shock as I said 'bastard' but I wasn't in the mood.

Then Devimon-Teme looked at me with the most evil smirks possible, then he said, "Oh, yes, the boy who knows too much, finally brought down from the pedestal that he was on. So, boy, what do you know about the future?"

Devimon-Teme stopped what he was doing to our friends and instead held them there, circling around himself and me, while I felt like I was grabbed then lifted up into the air. Then I heard Matt-San yell out, "HEY! What do you mean by that!?"

I looked up at him, shocked that, out of all the Digimon to know, it had to have been HIM that knew my secret. I didn't want them to find out like this, so I turned to him and yelled, "DON'T YOU DARE TELL THEM, DEVIMON-TEME!"

Then I heard Tai-Nii ask, "Tell us what, Otouto?" I turned to him and saw the confusion in his eyes.

"Yeah, what are you hiding from us?" I heard Sora-San yell out. I looked at her, and I wish I had told them the truth when I had the chance.

Devimon-Teme looked up at Matt-San then back at me, and he laughed, "Oh, so you haven't told them, have you? About how you know what was going to happen, but didn't tell them because you were too selfish? About how their lives were a children's show, and you are not who you say you are? Isn't that right, Jeremy?"

"Jeremy? Whose Jeremy?" I heard Joe-San ask, completely lost as to what was happening.

But I didn't answer, because I had started crying, my one secret, gone, yes, I finally had gotten the courage to admit the truth, but, it was too late. One day too late. I then Mimi-San ask, "I don't get it, whose Jeremy? And why is Luke-San crying?"

I could feel Tai-Nii looking down at me as he asked, "Otouto, is this true? Is what he saying, true?"

I didn't say anything, then I heard TK-San ask, "Whose Jeremy?"

That was when I decided to speak. My voice, cracking up as I said, "It was once my name. One lifetime ago." I looked up at my friends, with tears in my eyes and said, "Guys, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but, I didn't know what to say, or how to put it. Not until tonight, that is. But, I swear, I was going to tell you guys in the morning! I swear!"

I could feel the tears in my eyes, as I spoke. I didn't want to lose these guys. But, as always, I didn't know what to say to make them understand my reasoning.

Then Devimon-Teme began laughing louder as he said, "Now this is amusing. A boy from another world, brought here by mistake, and living a life he was never meant to have. Simply because his old life was taken away too soon. How, pitiful."

Then I glared at the winged freak show and said, "I never asked to be reborn! Never mind being reborn here of all places! I never asked for this life, I never wanted to lose my name of Jeremy. But I never wanted to hurt my friends!" I said with anger in my eyes.

But Devimon-Teme chuckled and said, "But try as you like, you have lied to your so-called friends, does a 'friend' lie to their 'friends'? No, only people like me, do that, and seeing that you have lied, that makes you no better than me. Ahahahahaha!"

And with those words, I felt a cold chill grab my very soul, and destroy any hope that I might have had, and that was it. I was broken, I didn't even cry, for I had no emotion left in me. I looked up at my friends, they probably saw the dead look on my face. And any hope for forgiveness was gone. and I was completely broken, I had no will to fight, no strength to even hold my head up.

I didn't even hear what Devimon-Teme said, but as I was about to be launched far away, I said one last thing. In a soft voice that was barely a whisper, I said, "Everyone, I'm, I'm sorry. Maybe it would be better if you all just, forget about me." And then me, Shadow Gatomon, and Dorumon-San were sent flying away, sent to a broken piece of File Island.
