So this chapter took me a while, but I don't think there's even one story for which it's not the case. I hope you'll like it. Very Lunoct centric. And it's a smut-fest. Sparkled with fluff on top. I'm very stressed lately, won't stop for the next five months, but I'm going through the last stretches of my thesis. So that's why this writer's note is so short. Have some kinky lunoct now.

Stranded
Chapter 24 – From the backseat
Finding a car had been the easy part and after a good three hours of tinkering, Cindy had gotten it back on track by scrapping pieces of other cars. They drove as long as Luna's bladder would allow, restocking on supplies by scavenging through abandoned cars and run-down houses. Noctis and Ignis were both feeling a little more ill with every new sign of destruction upon their home-country, but it was Noctis who was the most shaken of the two. Ignis, Cindy, Prompto and Aranea all took turns behind the wheel. Luna had wanted to offer her help, but she was going through a dizzy spell since waking up. Noctis was reluctant due to his twitchy right arm. He spent most of his time on his phone – he was officially the human battery for everyone's phone since he could use electricity as long as he collected enough from the shards lying near every campgrounds.
"Titan is obvious, but there has been no sighting of Ramuh for a couple of years. And when I say sightings, I'm talking about rumors on whacky forums," he sighed.
"This is not how we should be looking for an Astral, Noct. Isn't there a temple made in Ramuh's honor?"
Ignis heaved a sigh.
"Religion is not big in Lucis. I think the last temple we had was dismantled three centuries ago."
"Who was it for?" Cindy asked, genuinely curious.
Ignis frowned as he remembered the answer. "Carbuncle. Which is curious now that I think of it."
"Okay, well, I'll just see if I can connect with the magic inside one of the safe havens or the royal tombs we'll visit," Luna declared.
"Sounds like a plan," Noctis said, his expression turning somber.
Luna inched closer to him, catching his hand, their fingers interlacing instinctively.
"I'm sorry."
"No, there's no need to be. I just have good chances of being gloomier here than I was back in Tenebrae," he confessed.
There was a load on his mind with that brief talk he'd shared with his father.
Seeing as they were not switching places with anyone, Noctis and Luna might have been the more comfortable of the group. Ignis had Aranea sitting in his lap when he wasn't driving, or Prompto and Cindy would share a seat, their vehicle only having room for five.
By the fourth pit-stop, each of them was ready to look for a second car to finish the trip, even though neither Noctis nor Ignis liked the idea of splitting into smaller groups. They had yet to encounter soldiers from either the empire or Lucis, but they had no idea what to expect, not to mention the daemons that were more numerous at night.
"Are you guys still aiming to go crazy on each other tonight?" Prompto asked the royal pair.
"What?!" Noctis managed, Luna smiling much to Prompto's surprise.
"We heard you talking about car-sex last night," the gunman insisted.
"A heads-up regarding the safe distance to keep from the car would be appreciated," Ignis noted.
"Oh gods, better get off at the next haven we see so we can have a quiet night to ourselves," Aranea quickly added.
"Now that just sounds like we're chasing people away," Luna observed, her lips pinching into a thin line.
"Well, not to be a boar," Cindy interfered, "but we're basically three couples on a roadtrip and I think that we could all use some quality time."
"So who keeps the car?" Luna asked.
"And the tent." Aranea added
"We can just make a stop as soon as we see an abandoned car," Cindy offered. "I'd rather we drove something clean, we're already super cramped, not adding body fluids to it if we can help it."
"This is so unreasonable," Ignis sighed.
"Isn't sweat a body fluid?"
Cindy looked at the road, her neck moving with a jerk.
"Prompto, shut up, please," Noctis warned him.
He couldn't believe the talk they'd just had, but he could tell Luna needed this alone time and he would be a fool to pretend he didn't. After the crash, it had been nothing but sharing close quarters and bad news on top of bad news. Maybe this really was unreasonable, but Noctis knew they wouldn't have the chance to catch a break once they would make the first covenant. Reaching Duscae in so little time was already something and if Ramuh was back in Cleigne, they didn't want to make too much trip all over the place. Getting closer to Titan was simply the easiest course of action considering they needed to search for Ramuh's location and only had magic of old to count on.
Their next pit-stop was actually a gas station with a caravan and a small group of hunters living in the canteen next to the station. Ignis and Aranea agreed to rent the RV for the night, glad to have a roof over their heads. Cindy was able to repair a broken car at the station, surprised that the vehicle was less rusted than the one they'd already salvaged.
"We'll meet up here for lunch tomorrow," Noctis agreed with the others, before helping Luna into the car.
The safest thing to do would have been to take refuge among the other people at the station, but now that they had settled on it, both royals wanted their moment of privacy. The ride alone was quiet, Luna messing with the music stations, stopping on a news station that stated new laws were being edicted.
Regis was calling off his alliance with Galahd, on the count the crownsguards had turned out to be traitors. The doors of the capital were also closed and Lestallum had closed one of its gates, interrogating whoever tried to get into the city from the other one.
"This is so wrong. The longer Ardyn keeps on pretending he's my father, the harder it will be to undo the damage in the people's minds…"
"I know. We will do what we must, but we're still miles away from Insomnia," Luna reminded him.
Noctis sighed, biting his tongue as he mentally chided himself. Their awkward agreement with their friends meant he was supposed to make this evening enjoyable for her. For them both. He had her to himself for the first time in a while. Outside of their one date in Altissia, which seemed to be months ago, he had had to endure with only glimpses of her, and stolen moments with either Prompto or Cindy always being around.
"Let's get to this haven and focus on us right now, okay?"
"I'd love that. But I don't want you to force it. It does feel forced, doesn't it?"
"If that's the only way to get alone time, it's fine with me. Isn't banging at every little chance the whole dynamic of our relationship?"
"Oh gods, when you say it like that, I feel like I should be mad at myself," Luna whispered, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Luna, I'm the brooding type and you actually got me to want to make the most out of things. It's an achievement. We just need to make it so we don't feel like every day could be the fucking last."
She nodded, her hands covering her stomach at the notion the night was drawing close. The haven they were aiming for was right around the corner, forcing them to drive off-road despite how bumpy that would be. Noctis slowed down considerably, hoping it would be enough to avoid most of the bumps, but ground was quite different from concrete. Luna held onto the ceiling handle, laughing as they went down a hill and drifted slightly on muddier terrain.
Noctis was reminded once more of how much of a daredevil his fiancée was. And he loved her for it, especially as he realized how tensed she was, gripping the handle and holding her stomach with her other hand, and yet still laughing.
"Are you parking us on the haven's rock?" she asked.
"That's the plan, yeah. Let's see if I can make this any smoother."
He brushed the pedal, carefully changing the stirring to compensate for the change in speed. Controlled drifting was something Ignis had taught him after losing a bet and despite not driving a car in a while, he was excited to drive off-road. If he had anyone to guard Luna outside of himself, he would have dropped her off before attempting the haven-stone parking, but she had assured him that some bumping inside of a car couldn't be worse than the airship crash they'd been through. It was a good thing she'd never seen what he could do with an ATV…
When the car finally came to a stop, creaking in protest, they were parked right in the middle of the glowing haven, Luna holding a hand over her heart, her hair wild around her.
"What the hell was that?"
Oh, she sounded impressed.
"I've been on the run and stealing cars a lot after my exile. A runaway has to learn a few tricks," he shot back, winking at her and grinning widely.
"Dammit, a roaring car has never made me horny before," she laughed at herself. "Maybe I'm just dizzy."
Noctis hurried out of the car and to her side to help her out, collecting the few things they'd brought for a night out from the trunk. The thing refused to close back, but he guessed a raised trunk meant more privacy while they would get back in the car. He set up two folding chairs and a table, Luna busying herself with the campfire.
"It's too bad we don't have candles. I smell awful."
"After two days, I don't even smell it anymore," Noctis told her, embracing her from behind, his nose teasing her ear.
"Dinner first, Noct, or we'll skip eating altogether," she protested.
She wanted to giggle at how familiar and sweet the gesture was. They had been keeping appearances since the very beginning, only being true to themselves behind closed doors, so getting to actually show affection to each other out here in the open was amazing.
Luna soon decided that she'd rather sit on the ground, only to try and get herself back into the chair, soon realizing that she was already sore after a mere few days of camping.
"All this time in that hotel suite has made me soft!" she snapped at herself after moving back to the ground for the nth time.
"Luna, come here. I'm sure we can find a way to make you comfortable."
She agreed to sit in his lap, letting out a tiny whine of protest as she felt him inching away from her.
"What are you?"
"After all those bumps in the ride, the least I can do is offer you a massage. You can lean back, I just wanted some space to be more efficient."
His knees were on either side of her and Luna wondered if this massage was his first step towards their night of carsex. Maybe she should have slapped some sense into herself for being this horny all the time, but for once she had something else than stress and dire situations to blame. Noctis started with her shoulders, the light tremble of his right hand actually soothing after the first few minutes of getting used to it. She knew there would be involuntary twitches here and there, but she liked the thrill coming with the little jumps it sent through her. Soon his hands were focusing on her neck, pushing aside the fabric of her blouse.
"Are you warm? You feel warm."
"My hands are freezing, I assure you," she teased him, although she started undoing the buttons of her blouse, Noctis's chuckle filling her ears.
She wanted to ask if he was pushing himself to sound this carefree, but was afraid it would break the mood he was working on. They had agreed to one normal day. One carefree day. Surely they should enjoy it while they could?
"Hey, you're tensing up."
"I'm thinking. Help me stop."
"Oh Luna."
He shuffled closer to her, planting a soft kiss on both of her shoulder blades, before leaning down to her neck, his breathing drawing goosebumps across her skin.
"I wish I was better at making you happy. I mean… I don't want to help you run away for all of our lives."
"Noctis, you make me happy!"
"But do I make you feel safe?"
"I'm letting you undress me as we sit under the setting sun, I hope I feel safe!," she tried teasing him, bending her neck to catch his eyes.
He smiled at her, even though his many wants were waging a war inside of him.
"Noct?"
"Luna," he answered her, repeating her name once, then twice, looking in her eyes with a seriousness that made her throat tighten and her stomach clench.
"What is it?"
"I love you. Your name. You. And our baby. I don't know how to start to make this work organically," he admitted, running a nervous hand through his hair.
"Well, it's an… Gods, I can't say that," she cut herself off. "It will make it even worse."
"What? We can both use a laugh," he reminded her.
"Well, I thought… we're aiming for a quite organic-related activity."
He did laugh, clasping one hand over his mouth as he feared she would take offense for it.
"I told you it was ruining the mood?"
"We don't need a mood, I honestly don't know how I have the stamina to go at you like I do…"
Luna felt herself blushing.
"Well, my magic has its uses… Apparently…"
"What? Are you telling me…?"
He was blinking at her so much, she was afraid he might have forgotten how to keep his eyes open.
"Don't panic, don't panic! I did it without even realizing at first. I've noticed now because I've been trying to tone my magic down for the baby and… And I really can't get enough of you," she finished explaining, her hands dropping at her sides.
"So you've been… You've been making sure I could go on all night?"
Now Luna was starting to worry she'd missed an opportunity to bit her tongue.
"I am very much not sorry about it. Every thing you do to me is your own, Noct, I'm just…"
"Well… I guess it is partly your job to… titillate me. But now I owe Prompto some money."
She paled at that, feeling her neck turning warm.
"You what?!"
He shook his head at her, unable to hold back a large smirk.
"Got you. I would never make a bet on our sex life. At least not with Prompto."
"Oh my gods! Noct. Are we even now?"
"I'm not getting back at you. I'm taking the compliment. Maybe your subconscious should worry about the future of our joints though."
She did laugh at that, able to admit a few mornings had been rougher than others.
"How about we say that was my way of wishing you'd come into my life earlier?"
"Well, I'll be staying in it for all the years you want. And now I'm curious. Shall we try to see when you do use your magic on me?"
"Notwithstanding the future of our joints?"
"You can fix' em anyway."
Next thing she knew, Noctis's arms were around her and he was laying her down on her back, fully pulling her blouse open.
"Are we going to do it here?"
"We'll just start here," he offered, kissing both of her blushing cheeks before lingering on her mouth. "Do you feel exposed?"
"Only because you're not," she shot back, tugging at his shirt.
He sat back up to take off his shirt, taking his time to look at her from above, his smile cocky and playful as she ran her hands over his abs and around his waist.
"I'm really that good?"
She'd never seen him gloating. Never that much.
"Don't make me regret saying it, I'm not even controlling it!" she protested.
"Okay, okay, let me try again, Luna."
He slipped his arms under her back to cradle her gently, his palms like fire on her skin, his fingers deftly unhooking her bra as he leaned down to kiss her neck and draw a path for shivers further down.
She tried warning him to be gentle, but his nose was pushing away the garment and his eyes were hungry for all of her. Feeling the air on her skin reminded her of the garden and how he'd held her against the vine-eaten stone wall.
"Noct, we had said…"
"Expose me more," he taunted her, moving back up to steal her lips, Luna finding the clasp of his belt and making quick work of it.
She wanted to ask him if he knew this spot well enough to take such a risk, but there was excitement coming with the danger. She tugged on the waistband of his pants, wondering if he was going to let her go on or rush them to the car suddenly. Noctis leaned on one side, kissing her closer while taking one of her wrists to guide her hand beneath his boxers. Surely enough he was hard already against her palm, letting go of her wrist to let her do as she pleased, but parting from her lips to whisper in her ears.
"This is what you do to me."
"I…"
"Without magic, Luna. You do this to me."
He cupped her left breast, kissing the corner of her mouth and a trail of pure warmth along her jaw, all the way to her ear.
"Oh. Damn am I sensitive! Don't squeeze them," she protested to how he was handling her.
"That was a twitch."
"It felt very much… Ah! You… you did it again!"
Noctus chuckled, giving her an apologetic kiss.
"I feel kinda wild," he warned her.
She moaned in answer, her fingers roughly massaging his scalp before running down his neck to keep him where she wanted.
"Are you using me as a shield?" he mused.
"Maybe?"
He playfully pulled away from her to make sure he could see her, making quick work of her top and any undergarment, his lust calming down at the sight of her round belly. Luna couldn't help covering her chest self-consciously, letting out a yelp as he lifted her into his arms and right off the ground, gathering her close.
"Noct?!"
"I should hide you somewhere safe," he told her, kissing her temple and making a beeline for the car after managing to step out of his dark pants.
"Are you going to lay me directly on the seats?"
"We set a couple of our blankets already to make sure it was a tad sanitary," he reminded her. "This was your idea, wasn't it? The sun is already setting, so I don't think we have time to make it to the closest rest area. There's nothing but woods and plains. We could be the last humans around."
"And yet you want to hide me?" she teased him.
He tried kissing her nose while carrying her, his own nose poking at her cheek and her eyelashes fluttering close as she relaxed in his hold. His right shoulder hurt already, but he didn't falter, holding her flush against him as he snuck into the backseat of their stolen car. He couldn't help thinking of the Regalia he hadn't been able to nab from the capital as he'd been exiled. Of her pale skin on the black leather and of her hands pressing into the windows as he'd…
That was going on his to-do-list once everything was right with the world again and he told her so, Luna blushing against his lips, flushing at the thought he could desire her this much his mind was already making plans. Plans he detailed to her down to the various ways and angles he would hold her and just…
"Just do it to me now," she gasped, his smile warm on the skin between her breasts. "This can be a practice for when we get our hands on the nicest car you can find…"
His breathing came out with a shudder as she moved against him, Noctis feeling even more insatiable now.
"Gods, don't wrap your legs around me like that. Not yet at least."
How was he supposed to take off her pants otherwise?
"I'm just getting so hot and bothered by everything you're telling me."
"I love your voice so much, Luna."
He peppered her with more kisses, his hands guiding her legs down, freeing her of her pants, panties and socks as he pulled away entirely, nearly stepping out of the car. He wished for a less cramped space, but seeing her disheveled and wanting like this was enough to make his blood pulse in his veins.
"Are you going to leave the door open?"
"I have terrible ideas in my head," he confessed. "None I shall do to a pregnant lady…"
"Try me?" she told him, parting her legs for him, biting into her lower lip. "This might be our last chance before a while after all."
"I'll kindly doubt that, you…"
His sentence was left hanging, his hands grabbing her hips and turning her on her side, her legs parting further as he leaned down to plant kisses and licks against her already extra sensitive flesh. Despite his obvious rush, Noctis was gentle with her, Luna throwing her head back with abandon in a matter of seconds, reaching her first climax of the night.
"Isn't it crazy how we haven't needed lube in forever?" he teased her as his fingers took over for his tongue.
"Oh shut… up! Give me a minute, I'm still…"
"No, I don't have any magic to help you recover from it, so just let me spoil you rotten."
Her sharp intake of air and the twitching in her legs had him smiling.
"Noct! Eas…" her sigh turned into an outright gasp, Noctis struggling to hold himself steady in the cramped space as he focused entirely on her, kissing the inside of her thigh, and then the swell of her stomach. The gesture was so soft, Luna felt tears gathering in her eyes.
"Hey, I'm not being too rough or…?"
"No, I'm just… extra emotional. Let me touch you, I won't let you do all the…"
"How about you just do as I say for this round? Then we can see how much we can spoil each other in the confines of this thing. I already want to hack the roof off."
"Okay. I mean, not to the roof hacking! ," she quickly added.
He kissed her lips, in that awkward crouching position, Luna cupping his face, knowing that was always allowed even when he wanted full control.
"I want to take you from behind," he confessed as they parted. "Think you can hold yourself up through it?"
"As long as you don't squash me," she teased him back, fighting against the dizziness she felt.
He gave her another kiss, warm and lazy, squeezing the curve of her hip as he did, then pulling away far enough to give her room to roll around. His right hand travelled across her back, shivering and jumping along her spine and by this time, she couldn't help but wonder if he wasn't accentuating the jumpiness to keep her on her toes.
"I can't remember if you took off your…"
"Here," he answered her, brushing his erection against her folds. "Gods, I kinda want to pull you half out of the car…"
"Oh no you don't!"
She sounded genuinely scared by the prospect, Noctis apologizing and helping her walking just a little forward while standing all her fours, making sure she knew where the other door was so she wouldn't bump her head in it.
"No bumping has to happen unless you…!"
His patience was all spent and now she could feel him, one arm wrapping over her front as his chest rubbed against her back, the fire spreading in her lower belly as he reached deep into her.
"You okay? Not using your magic yet?"
"Noct, can you please cut it out with the magic thing? I know this is all you, I…"
He started moving with a rough grunt, the sound making her stomach clench while her flesh welcomed the building rush. He kept it slow, since he wanted to make sure she would feel his arms around her, both of their left hands digging dangerously deep into the seat's cushion as it was all he had for balance.
"Talk to me Luna," he pleaded with her.
"I can't think… Just keep…" She wanted to reach back for him, but her arms felt weak, so instead she did her best to push her hips back into him to meet his thrusts, the sharp sound of their breathing filling the air around them.
"Faster?" he offered.
She deeply moaned her approval, gasping and pushing her head against the sheets between her arms as he complied. Her heart was thundering in her chest as his pleasure spilled over, spreading the warmth she'd come to crave. They stayed still and quiet for the briefest moment, his chest resting against her back, his arms squeezing her close as her body did the same to him.
"Kiss me," Luna heard herself asking, her voice a shivering sound and Noctis sighed back, leaning into the seats' back to cushion her with his body, his fiancée gingerly rolling around. As soon as their face were aligned, their mouths found each other, first greedy and then melting into softness.
"I love you so much," he whispered into her hair.
"I love you too. Gods, why does it feel better every time?"
"What? The sex? Or hearing that I love you?" Noctis teased her.
She gave his chest a light smack, closing her eyes to bask in the shivers and shudders still quaking through her body.
"The sex," she said without hesitating, before reassuring him, "it's both of course. I feel so damn tired now."
"Already? Aren't you going to use your magic on me?"
"I told you I don't control it!" she protested. "And I can certainly go for another round, but maybe… Maybe not much more than that…"
"That's not a bad thing. If you stay insatiable all the time, I'll get performance anxiety eventually."
He squirmed to get himself into a sitting position, cursing against the car's size the whole time, while Luna struggled to shuffle after him, wishing for his warmth and his arms around her.
"You're so cute."
"Enough teasing,"
"I meant it," he insisted, relishing her smile. Then he frowned, seeing the shadow thrown by the setting sun growing longer on her skin. "It's getting dark, I should grab my phone. Make sure I can still see you."
She got him to kiss her senseless first, covering her mouth with one hand to stifle her laugh as she looked at him walking back to their campfire, bare like a newborn. She doubted Noctis would have acted this carefree out in the open at any other time of his life. As proud and smug as he could get, he had always proved to be quite insecure deep down. Not that he had anything to be ashamed if people were to ask Luna. But he was a prince. Fallen, at least for the moment, but a prince still. No royalty should even risk having a picture of their butt taken, let alone…
"What are you laughing at?" he asked her upon getting back in the car.
He'd brought a bag filled up with things in case they would get cold or hungry.
"I just feel like you're a lot more carefree than you used to…"
"I figured warping back to camp would be even worse than just walking, since I left after-images," he laughed as he understood what she was talking about.
She shook her head at him, her laughter impossible to supress this time.
The night air wasn't too cold, and yet his hands felt freezing as he reached for her.
"I thought you didn't mind the cold?" Noctis teased.
"But you do, have a taste of this," she retorted, her own hands twice as cold as his when she tickled his sides.
"Damn, I left you for like two minutes, that won't do!"
They tickled each other and played around for a bit, glad for the time alone and the absence of nearby ears, which usually made it more embarrassing to be childish instead of going at each other like wild animals. It was still very awkward to move around, Noctis soon finding himself hard, and biting back on comments about Luna reinvigorating him with her magic, simply enjoying the game of finding positions that weren't too awkward and avoiding those that were downright painful. Luna allowed for his various adjustments while keeping him on his toes, teasing him as much as she dared without letting him reach his peak.
She was straddling one of his thighs, her knees digging in the seat, his hands on her to keep her from slipping off the seat as they kissed and toyed with each other nerves. Right as she felt him swelling, she squeezed him a little harder and higher, grinning at he hissed and cursed.
"I know I'm being greedy," she started, "but I want to feel you again."
"I won't say no to that," he told her, his eyes temporarily mesmerized by her swaying breasts as she tried to scoot closer. "Luna, this won't work, turn around."
"I'm starting to think you're obsessed with my back."
"As a matter of fact, I am, but it's this car… It's so awfully small."
She raised herself to steal his lips, pulling away while his eyes were still half-closed and tried to shuffle around. It was a brief nightmare, her body ablaze with sensations and her mind threatening to escape it for fear she would break if the pleasure grew any higher.
Noctis helped her, cupping her ass and than her thighs. His fingers were warm and still damp with her wetness, Luna letting out a whimper as he guided her down. Holding herself up was a lot to ask her already taxed body, especially since she felt incredibly exposed with the flashlight lit up on his phone. He'd suggested filming this new round and while pleasantly flustered by the idea, she'd decided against it. She felt messy and was pretty certain she looked even worse. Not to mention the risk of pictures going out!
"You're tensing up, love, relax, once I'm in, we can share the moving…"
"I don't think I'll be doing much moving," she confessed, trying to adjust herself as his head rubbed just a little to the side.
"Just get down here and we'll find a way," he blurted out, his right hand pressing her thigh down. She was so stretched and yet it wasn't enough, not until she felt his lap under her and him. His chin took a spot on her shoulder, his lips nibbling on her ear, Luna turning her head far enough to meet his eyes somehow.
"This feels crazy."
"What?"
"I can see the stars outside and we're…"
"Are you turning shy now?"
He shuffled his hips upward, Luna reaching up in pure instinct, her hands hitting the ceiling of the car, followed by her forearms.
"I think something in my neck moved."
"Fuck, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, just… be gentle? My legs are weak right now."
"I think tomorrow morning, we'll be finding a hotel room so I can look after you properly for a day."
"But…"
"No but but this one," Noctis instantly teased her, helping her just a tiny bit up and back in his lap, both of them whining.
As she leaned back into him, he looked down at her shivering body, guiding her in another small rocking motion.
"There's so much moving," he marvelled.
Luna instantly covered her breasts, feeling her ears growing even warmer, and his hands gently pulling her arms away to hold her wrists on either side of him.
"Let me watch you. You're so damn beautiful like that."
"I'm not…"
"You are, Luna, everywhere." His hand sneaked past the curve of her thigh, his voice commenting on how he couldn't see what he was doing and loved it. All he could do was feel his way to her core, his thumb touching himself and then her. He didn't even try to move either of them, focusing on her and how much she pressed into him now.
Her gasp barely warned him ahead, her flesh spasming over him, which was enough to end him too at this point, his arms wrapping around her as she started shivering all over. The sounds she made were too endearing by this point, both of them feeling lost and beyond sore. He held her close until the shivers left, helping her up and around so he could see her face, her smile finishing off his already swollen heart.
The kisses they shared then were mere pecks, gentle, soft and somehow off target, grogginess settling over them.
"Was it enough?" Noctis couldn't help himself.
"Enough?!" she repeated. "I don't think I can walk again."
She never admitted to such things normally, so he took the compliment, wondering how exhausted he would be himself in the morning.
"We should get in the tent. You'll feel better there."
"Where are my clothes?"
"At this hour, it really doesn't matter. I'll cover you up," he still agreed to, taking a fresh blanket from the bag he'd dropped under the front seat and drying her from excessive sweat before bundling her up.
"Noctis, I'm dizzy. And you look so pale yourself right now."
"I think we used up pretty much all of our energy. Worth it, though?"
"Oh, definitely."
She raised one hand to caress the side of his face, relishing how he leaned into her touch.
"When was the last time we took our time to enjoy each other?" she asked him.
"I think that was a couple weeks ago," Noctis teased her. "But I know what you mean. Now, let's resituate us three while I still have the will to do so."
Luna felt a tinge of embarrassment as she inched her way towards the door, insisting she could at least move a little. Noctis made a point of picking her up as soon as she was out of the car, all covered with the clean sheet, and he carried her bridal style to the tent he'd quickly put together.
Said tent was a sad excuse for a shelter considering both of their status, but neither of them cared much about it, happy they had room to lay side by side and still have their things close. He helped her getting cleaned up, Luna gasping as his hands threatened to test her nerves again.
"I had enough, I'm fully content," she assured him, blushing and smiling through her not-so-mild embarrassment.
"Contently exhausted?"
"Positively," she nodded. "Where do you find all that energy?"
"I don't know," he chuckled. "I love you," he added, kissing her neck just once, all gentle and soft now.
"That's not fair, I love you too, me not moving much doesn't mean…!"
"Luna, don't take it like that. You're already working so hard on growing a baby."
His right hand touched her stomach, the light shaking to his touch growing as his voice shifted from emotion as he repeated her name.
"Oh Noct, you're going to make me cry if you get emotional now."
"I can't help it. Everytime I thought about coming back home, I felt pitiful and yet…"
She'd travelled here with him, offering her his support, her love, and even more than he'd ever asked for. All he hoped for now, since he was hoping again, was that he could make everything safe for their little Darius. Make it impossible for Ardyn, Ravus, any of the astrals or the crystal to hurt their boy.
"You make me believe it's all worth something, you know?"
"It's you who do that to me."
"Well, I'll keep on doing my best."
"Me too. For us three."
Noctis took some pride in the fact she didn't mention Eos and its people for once. Those things would matter again in the morning, but right now, focusing on what they had and what truly mattered in their lives was all they wanted.

I think this could be the last extra smutty lunoct of this fic, but who am I kidding lol Next chapter will include silver/gold and a flash to Ravus's situation, and the start of action again, so we can get a new covenant. Preferences for Ramuh or Titan?
