Finally, they had arrived in the town.

"I still can't believe you're here with me. Alive and human," Donovan cupped Livia's face on his hands.

"You won't get rid of me so easily," She smiled.

This time, Donovan had the move. He embraced her by the waist, she held him around his neck and they kissed passionately.

"Can you not? That's disgusting," Anita protested.

"I'm glad you think that," Donovan patted her head and Livia laughed a little embarrassed.

Soon the townspeople received them. Suspicious and superstitious, they made some ridiculous tests to make sure none of them had been turned into a vampire. Patiently, Livia crossed running water and walked in front of mirrors until they were calmer.

They spend a couple of weeks at the hospital. Livia had anemia due to her loss of blood, but she was recovering well. Donovan spent some time under observation, although he didn't find it necessary, he let Livia take care of him, with her medicine and an exclusive loving treatment when they were alone. Anita was totally fine two days after arriving. She even played with other children. Of course, she was still quiet and introvert but now she knew tragedies would not follow her anymore.

Soon, they were all at home. But, in one fateful morning Livia woke up alone in bed, there was no trace of Donovan or Anita left. Had they gone? She just dressed something and left furious. She borrowed a horse and rode away. She found Donovan and Anita on the town's borders. They looked at her surprised.

"Unbelievable!" She cried and she got off "How dare you to leave me like that?"

"You know I'm a nomad," Donovan tried to explain but he was interrupted.

"I thought I meant something to you!"

He laughed and her blood boiled.

"Oh, you think that's funny?" Livia pulled a sword and rushed at him "En gard!"

First, Donovan dodged from her and tried to defend himself, but Livia was fighting impulsively and her reflexes were great. He had to use his Dhylec sword and Livia wasn't intimidated at all. Even after he had disarmed her, she kept fighting with her ice and electric magic which she had improved now.

On a quick move, Donovan held her pulses on her back and restrained her.

"Listen to me!" He talked firmly on her ear, sending waves of arousal to her body "I must leave here. I must vanquish the darkness from this world, that's my destiny. But I'm not doing this today."

"What?"

"We were planning to surprise you," Anita said a little bored carrying flowers on her hands.

"I was trying to be romantic" He kissed her neck as he let her go "I love you too much to leave you like that."

"I love you too. I love you both! I'm sorry I- I got everything wrong," She blushed.

"We want you to travel and fight with us," Anita held her hand.

"If you want to. If you not I'll be around. You carry something precious in your blood and you must be protected. Besides you're too rowdy to stay unsupervised."

Donovan smiled. Livia didn't seem to listen. She was in silence, facing the town behind her.

"I always wanted to leave this place again, but I never could, the memories from my family stopped me. Today I see I lived on these memories like a ghost," The wind blew her dark hair as she faced them. She smiled and continued:

"And when I met you it was like a resurrection! I fought against demons and protected the town, I started to use magic again, I discovered the secrets of my family and defeated that scoundrel with fangs! Why would I stop now?"

"Is this a yes?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Of course!" Livia cried in excitement.

"I knew you were coming!" Anita hugged her.

"Are you sure? It's not a luxurious life" Donovan warned her.

"I don't care about luxury. I have everything I ever wanted here," She held Anita and Donovan's hands.

The hunter kissed her lips softly. "Maybe you can catch up with me," He whispered "If I train you"

"You'll have to catch me first!" Livia held Anita's hand and they started to run. Donovan ran after them, he picked Anita first and put her on his shoulder, then he dropped Livia and they three rolled on the spring grass, laughing with delight for the first time in years. They decided to eat some season fruits in there, as they played and talked.

Donovan, Anita and Livia, all had lost their beloved ones, but now they had won a new family filled with the love they always needed, and even though the world was full of madness and darkness, they would not face it alone anymore.

They decided to sleep under the stars on that night.
