I apologize ahead of time, but this is where we start to fully touch on that M rating.
This chapter gets close to being a lemon or smut chapter. I don't do those kinds of chapters usually because I feel like if I am going to write smut or romance between characters, I want to make it seem natural and not rushed or forced interactions. Another reason is that I am terrible at writing that kind of thing; though if enough people want me to, I will try my hand at it.
Enjoy this long awaited chapter.
Chapter 38: obtained, for if
~Sam
When they finally walked off the ramp of the bullhead, I understood why Soap only wanted himself, Sarah, and Blake to do whatever it was that they did.
Soap and Blake were helping a limping Sarah down the ramp. Sarah's left leg, left shoulder, and most, if not all, of her ribs on her left side were broken. Blake, who was also limping herself, was using one of Sarah's pipes to help brace herself as she walked.
Before I could even examine Soap it became very obvious that Blake and Soap were not going to be able to carry Sarah for much longer.
"Drake, go help Sarah and bring her to the medbay. I got Blake." I said to my boyfriend standing beside me.
"I'm sorry that these metal arms of mine aren't that comfortable Sarah. I'll have you in the medbay in a bit." My boyfriend told her when he lifted Sarah from their arms.
He only got a raspy "ok" in response.
It seemed that we acted just in time; when Drake picked up Sarah and I gave Blake my shoulder to lean on, Soap and Blake both collapsed.
Finally able to see them closer, I realized that in all of my days with BNTY, I had never seen Soap, Sarah, or Blake so covered in blood. It was as if someone had given them a literal bloodbath.
All three of them barely had much of their clothes left. Soap lost his shirt and jacket, Sarah was missing her upper half as well, and Blake didn't have anything left. The only thing covering their parts were black and red blood soaked bandages.
Soap was laying in front of me on his stomach. From this angle I could see a massive black bruise in the center of his spine surrounded by broken bones; I didn't know how the hell he managed to help Sarah down the ramp let alone walk.
~Soap
I was extremely relieved when Drake took Sarah from our arms; any second later and we would have collapsed with her in our arms.
At this point, it was safe to say that my broken bones were not going to help me navigate the church.
I don't remember when I had done so, but I had somehow broken my right shoulder, the center of my spine, and all of my rib cage while we were fighting.
"What the hell happened?" Sam asked us as she held Blake up with her wing with ease.
I haphazardly pushed myself over onto my back as I gasped for air; at this point I was more than certain that one of my broken ribs had punctured one of my lungs and was slowly filling with blood.
"Hell. Hell is pretty much the best description that I can come up with for what happened." I said with a slight chuckle, barely able to breathe. "Blake? You still with us?"
"Barely. Hey Soap?" She asked faintly, still propped up on Sam's wing and shoulder.
"Yeah?" I managed to rasp out.
"Please, let's never, ever do that again."
"Normally I would refuse on account of that being one of the biggest thrills I have experienced in my life but, seeing as how we nearly died on seven different occasions on the ground and another three in the air, I think I will agree with you." I said shaking my head quickly in agreement.
After a moment, Sam spoke up. "Do I even want to know?"
"No. Probably not." I responded out of breath from the pain.
"Then I'm not going to ask." She said as she started towards the door with Blake. "I'll be back for you once I get her in a bed." She called over her shoulder as she passed through the doorway.
"O.K." I called back.
While I laid there waiting for Drake or Sam to come retrieve me, I quickly recalled the events that was Sarah, Blake, and I nearly losing our lives.
Less than a week ago...
After the ghosts that wandered my village were finally put to rest is when I sensed something else in the ruins with us.
What the hell? Nothing except the air and snow should be able to enter here.
"Who goes there?" I announced into the fog, slowly reaching for my weapons leaning against the banister.
Sarah and Blake noticed and quietly followed suit.
"Oh. It seems the one we missed has finally returned."
"And it looks like it made some friends." Said two different voices as their sounds bounced around us.
"You are trespassing on my home. Respect that and those that have fallen here and leave this place immediately."
The sound of four distinct voices laughing could be heard in response.
"Soap? What's going on? Who are you talking to?" Blake asked me.
I said nothing, instead I pushed the sound of what I was hearing into our bond.
Just then, four hooded silhouettes stopped just behind the fog ahead of us.
Quietly I finished reattaching my weapons to my belt.
"I sealed this place from the outside world myself. Nobody but me and those I am bonded with may enter here; anyone else that manages to make in here should be in excruciating pain. How is it that you are even standing?"
Laughter could once again be heard. "That seal only works on full humans."
My eyes widened when I heard that.
"Let us finally finish what we started 14 years ago." The tallest figure said, drawing a sword. "We are Onyx. We serve to revive the final means of the end of days."
The cloaked figure rushed me with it's blade.
I drew my own and barely guarded against its attack.
I quickly sheathed them again after pushing my attacker back.
I backed up into a fighting stance with my fists at the ready.
Behind me I heard the girls jump back at my sudden movement.
"What the hell is going on Chris? What are you fighting?" Sarah yelled.
My attacker plunged again at me with it's blade. I gently redirected it's blade with one hand and followed up with a flame engulfed fist that sent it flying.
"Do you seriously not see anything?" I half screamed while getting ready for another attack.
"We haven't seen or heard anything other than when you pushed your hearing." Blake responded.
"Then I will push what I see!" I said exasperated.
Before I had a chance to push what I was seeing, one of the other cloaked figures, a female by the looks of it, dashed to attack Sarah.
My body moved before I had a chance to think. I set my hand ablaze and set the other attacker in fire.
Thankfully her cloak burned rather easily and she panicked after being set on fire. This gave me an idea.
I turned and set my attacker on fire and he started panicking as well.
"Please tell me that you see the things I just set on fire!" I screamed somewhat desperately while I kept an eye on the two that hadn't moved yet.
Before the girls could respond, the two attackers I set on fire pulled off their cloaks; when they did, Blake and Sarah instantly zeroed in on them.
The figures face's, although now rid of their cloaks, were still shrouded in shadows. It dawned on my that that was because of the seal I had put on this village.
"Got 'em now." Sarah said, her pipes appearing in her hands from seemingly nowhere.
"Are there more?" Blake asked as she drew Gambol Shroud from it's meat cleaver of a sheath.
"Two more. The cloaks they are wearing seem to have something to do with why you two can't sense them."
With her weapons at the ready, she stood back to back with Sarah. "If you can see them then handle them. Sarah and I will take these two." She said as they dashed towards the female attacker.
The female attacker was fairly agile as she out-stepped and dodged almost every attack they made at her.
"Hey Blake, I think it's time for you to try borrowing my semblance." I heard Sarah say in my head. "Toss me your ribbon!"
"What?!" Blake said back as she did what she was told.
"Push my semblance into your cleaver as you swing."
"Sarah I don't know how to do th-"
"Now!"
Sarah teleported towards the female attacker with Blake's ribbon in hand and put all her weight into swinging it around her with Blake and cleaver in tow. Blake's cleaver connected with the attacker as it glowed and cackled with electricity.
After seeing one of it's comrades get injured by Sarah and Blake, the tallest one hissed in anger and disapproval. "It's friends know a few tricks." He then turned to the two I was fighting and nodded its head.
One of the two I was fighting suddenly jumped back and took aim at Sarah with a bow and fired several explosive arrows at her before I even realized what it was doing. All I could do was watch as the arrows made contact with the ground around Sarah and Blake and engulfed them in flames.
The explosion incinerated all of Blake's and most of Sarah's clothing, however neither of them seemed to notice, or care, at the time; they were too busy with assessing their wounds.
Sarah seemed to take the brunt of the explosion and was bleeding from a few cuts on her chest and her leg. Blake, who was stark naked at this point, was in the process of standing back up when I noticed the large amount of blood covering her cleavage and back.
The sight of the two people I held dearest bloodied beyond a what a normal brawl would result in, snapped something inside me. It was clear to me at this point that these people weren't here for just a fight, they were here for our lives; specifically my life.
As Blake slowly made her way to the injured Sarah's side as she laid on the ground unconscious, Blake came across one of Sarah's pipes and started to use it as a crutch.
All four of our attackers were in front of me at this point, each with their weapons pointed directly at me.
I took off my jacket and shirt and tossed them to Blake and addressed her behind me. "Here. Use these for bandages. Get her patched up and back to the bullhead."
I heard a soft gasp from Blake before she weakly said "ok".
I didn't need to look to know what Blake was gasping about. She was witnessing for the first time why I earned the nickname in the criminal underworld of "demon".
My usual pure white hair was bleached black with the same shadows that flowed out from underneath my fingerless gloves and danced across my skin like brilliant, black flames.
"Sarah, the black in your hair is gone." I heard Blake tell her just before they were out of earshot.
"Good..." I heard Sarah say in my head before she passed out again.
"Hey General Gunnel, I hope you don't mind but I'm going to need to borrow your aura for a bit." I said to ghost that I knew was standing next me about to speak.
"Should I even bother explaining who these people are when you have already figured it our yourself?" The ghost of a general asked me.
"They are onyx; sworn enemies to the Iustorum. They are the head of the shadow organization that has been hunting me since the day they attacked my home and I survived. They are the 4 other people other than Niri that survived my attack on Cado Angelus. The people I unintentionally sealed here in this ruin of a village, the ones that won't let the family I made for myself alone." I said as the ghost disappeared. "And the first and people I will ever fight with the full intent to kill."
The shadows finally settled into place as they danced along my skin.
Seeing the shadows covering my skin and my pitch black hair, the attackers in front of me jumped back in shock and hissed again.
"It is like us? Half human and half demon? " The four hissed in unison.
"Not quite." I said as I manifested the blade of darkness and spun it in my hands. "Unlike you, I am fully human. Infusion with extremely rare raw Black dust crystals is an incredibly powerful thing."
"Black dust? None that have ever done so came back the same and in control. Black dust is extremely unstable." The smallest of the four said in a feminine voice.
"I guess I was lucky." I said as I threw my blade at the two still cloaked figures, dissolving the cloth upon contact. I dissolved the blade back into shadows after it landed in the ash and blood soaked snow behind them.
"Should we see what is stronger? Four of the offspring of the dark god that once walked the earth, or the offspring of the god of light's last followers infused with Black dust."
The figures drew their weapons.
"I am last on Remnant that carry the blood of his followers. Why don't you come play with me for a bit?" I said as I laughed manicly.
The four hissed in agreement.
For the first time since sealing away the full power of Black dust into my blades, I stood perfectly straight and still as I intentionally drew my weapons.
"Upon the promises made by the holy book of the Iustorum, I now draw my blade of black and crimson blood, the blade of the 'falsum prophetam', and my blade of darkness and black death, the blade of 'et sanguinem dolo'. Upon the holy book from which life itself was made, I Chris Gunnel, the last offspring of the god of light's followers, I swear that your enemies will be vanquished. As your word says, from the dust we were all created and to the dust we shall all return." I chanted as I held my weapons with the intent to kill.
I looked my weapons over for the first time in a very, very long time.
My right blade was made of black steel with a blood red handle. Inscribed in glowing white upon the black blade of 'falsum prophetam', or False Prophet, were the ancient words 'quoniam non dormies super mortuo' meaning 'no sleep for the dead'.
My left blade, help backhanded, was made of white steel with a pure black handle. Inscribed in glowing blood red upon white blade of 'et sanguinem dolo', or bloody deceit, were the ancient words 'Iuste vivat rex' meaning 'Long live the rightful king'.
"Upon this battlefield, I awaken the sleeping power of my faithful and reliable firearm, Mors caeruleum, to aid me in my noble venture to rid the world of my enemies. Awaken now and forever aid me Blue Death." I said finally completing the rite.
My Desert Eagle glowed a magnificent blue at my waist, waiting patiently for it's chance to aid me.
In a moment, I stepped forward and swung my blades of blood and death.
I don't remember what happened after I first swung my weapons, but the next thing I knew, I was crawling up the ramp of the recon bullhead covered in blood and heart pumping with adrenaline. When I reached the top, I was met with the golden, worried eyes of Blake. She and I were absolutely drenched in blood.
Without so much as a word, she pulled me inside the dimly lit cabin and raised the ramp. Once the ramp was raised, I fell to my knees in exhaustion. I looked up at Blake who was still staring at me with her worried golden orbs. We said nothing, just staring at each other happy that the other was still alive.
Quietly, I looked her over to start assessing her wounds when I realized that she was still ass naked. This was the first time I had ever seen her this vulnerable. Her body was cute and untanned where her clothes usually covered her; her breasts, while slightly smaller than most women her age, were the perfect size for her body. When she realized where I was staring, she quietly averted her eyes to hide the blush that was covering her face and quickly covered herself with her hands.
I gave a friendly chuckle at her embarrassment. "You have nothing to be embarrassed about Blake. You have a very attractive body."
"R-Really?" She asked sheepishly. "My breasts aren't too small?"
"Absolutely not. For your body, your breasts are the perfect size. I like smaller breasts anyway." I said. That seemed to relax her enough to open up again.
My eyes continued down her body and stopped at her crotch. She knew exactly where I was looking as she looked away and slightly spread her legs allowing me to see the jewel between them. It was a very beautiful pink with a very neat trim and her legs were a very light white compared to her darkly tanned arms and face.
"Blake you are very beautiful. Whoever you fall in love with is going to be a very lucky person to be able to see every part of you all the time." I said as she helped me up. "How about we get out of here?"
When I was standing, I opened my mouth to shout commands at the flight computer but was met instead with a soft pair of lips. Their owner, Blake Belladonna.
I was shocked honestly; while I was more than aware that Blake had feelings of love for me, I thought they were more akin to the love one would feel for a brother or close friend. With her lips currently pressed against mine, it is very evident that I was wrong.
This is something I neither thought would happen nor was prepared to deal with.
~Blake
All I saw in the distance were multi-colored explosions doting the location that they were fighting. I turned back to Sarah to change her bandages and clean them as best I could with what little medical supplies I could find on the recon bullhead.
The explosions lasted a good six hours until they finally stopped. Not long after they stopped, a loud scream shook the cabin of the aircraft and me down to my core.
I was no stranger to the Creatures of Grimm randomly screaming or growling in the distance over territory or dominance when RWBY and I were on training missions - I was a huntress-in-training after all - the thing that rattled me about that scream was how inhuman it sounded when it started and how much it sounded like Soap when it ended.
The scream lasted a good minute or two and seemed to signal the end of the fight.
A half an hour later, when he finally managed to crawl up the ramp of the recon bullhead, I was waiting for him. When he reached the top of the ramp, he and I locked eyes for a while.
He could probably see the worry that was plastered on my face, I for sure could see the exhaustion on his face. Quickly I pulled him in the aircraft and raised the ramp.
While I looked him over I realized how handsome he looked without a shirt on and battle fatigued.
He fell to his knees soon enough, that was when I saw the massive amount of dried and fresh blood covering his back, but he somehow didn't seem too worried about it at the time.
I glanced back to his face and noticed the light blush across his face and that he was staring at something on my chest.
My face instantly became flushed as I realized what exactly he was staring at. I covered my tiny breasts and found to my surprise that I was completely on display for him to see.
'Great, now he probably thinks that I am an exhibitionist with my tiny breasts.' I thought to myself. 'Also, when the hell did I lose my clothes?'
He laughed softly at the sight that was me and told me that I had a very attractive body.
This made me feel a little bit better, especially since it was coming from the man I adored so I sat down on the bench behind me and let him examine me a little more. When I felt his gaze move to my vagina, I leaned back a bit and spread my legs a little so he could see my most sensitive spot.
His gaze held there for a bit then kept traveling down my body.
As faunas, our private parts are far more sensitive than that of a human. It's because of this that a lot faunas, male and female, are forced into prostitution or being sex slaves; because we "make the best faces for the least amount of effort.".
I trusted Soap not only because he had a faunas wife that was a cat faunas like me, but also because trusted the faunas more than his own race; something that he has since proved to me many times since meeting me.
I helped him up and he reassured me that whoever I fell in love with was going to be a very lucky person to have the me that was on display for him to see right now.
'But the ones I fell in love with are you two. You and Sarah. I love you two so much.' I thought to myself, hesitating to make a move.
He opened his mouth to say something, but I wasn't about to let this chance escape me so I pulled his lips to mine.
He seemed shocked almost, like he had a hard time believing that another person other than Sarah liked him in a romantic sense.
After a moment of hesitation, he kissed me back and I felt like I was going to melt.
After our tongues played with each other for a bit, we pulled away and gasped for air.
"When did you first fall for us?" He asked me, taking a step back.
I looked at him with a confused look, "How did you know it was a us and not a you?" I asked.
"Because your emotions were seeping through our bond while we were kissing me." He responded.
I thought for a moment, "I think I first fell for you when you proved that you trusted me and showed me and Sarah your true past. I think I fell for Sarah that same night when she showed how much the past didn't matter to her and she wanted the you are right now, no matter what you had done." I said looking down at the floor.
He approached me and gently lifted my chin so that I was looking him in the eyes. My focus shifted from eye to eye as he spoke, "If what you say is really true, then I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me."
I hesitated a moment, still shifting my focus from eye to eye. He just continued to stare me in the eyes, his focus not shifting.
'Wow, you are really handsome.' I thought to myself.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, let it out. "Chris 'Soap' Gunnel, I, Blake Belladonna, love you and Sarah 'Hearts' Kirtsov."
Without a word, he leaned forward and kissed me passionately. "I know, and you better tell Sarah when she wakes up, ok? We aren't exactly opposed to a three-way relationship, but you are going to have to talk to her about this."
I smiled before I responded, "Ok."
"Let's get out of here."
~Sam
A week later...
"So Sam?" Yang started as she came out of the medbay from helping move Soap there.
"Yeah Yang? What's up?" I asked turning to face her.
"The bet is on whether or not Blake wants to fuck both Soap and Sarah, right?" Yang asked me after we got Sarah, Soap, and Blake to the medbay.
"Yeah. Why? You want in?" I asked her.
"Yep, I'm for her wanting to get with both of them. What does the loser have to do?" She asked me.
"Weiss hasn't decided yet. As for her, I've decided that if she loses, she has to go on a date with Ruby...Is that alright with you?" I asked her.
"Yeah, that's fine. I already figured she liked Weiss, so we might as well play matchmaker."
"Cool. I'll go tell Weiss." I said.
A/N: If you don't already, follow me on tumblr for WCBB snippets, teasers, story ideas, and the various random things I post.
Also, here's a nice long chapter for you guys for the long absence. That said, I wrote this all today in a car, on my phone, over the course of eight hours so there might be a few mistakes I didn't catch when I finally reviewed it on my laptop.
Before I get a message about it, yes character development for Umbra is slated to be part of the next chapter.
