Kuri and Ben were having a nice date at Burger Shack, when Slamworm attacked, knocking Kuri's drink over and spilling it all over her fries.
"Hey! That's my girlfriend's lunch you jerk!" Ben yelled.
He transformed into Diamondhead and pursued the creature while Kuri cleaned up, then stood, following him.
Diamondhead surrounded Slamworm with crystals, and the creature scampered off.
"Interesting..." Kuri said.
"Right, well while you're being interested, it got away!" Ben said, changed back.
Kuri rolled her eyes. "I'm not as fast as you in human form, much less alien. I can shimmer, yes, but only if I knew where it was going."
"I get that." Ben said, looking apologetic. "I'm sorry, it just seems like someone's sending aliens to kill me."
"Like you're being hunted." Kuri mused softly.
"Exactly!" Ben said. "I bet it's Dr. Animo. Remember him? He loves controlling animals, bet he's stepped up his game."
"Alright." Kuri pulled Ben to the table, where she put down her laptop, and took out a mouse, which was embedded with a quartz crystal.
"What are you doing?" Ben said.
"Scrying." Kuri said. After a moment, the computer dinged. "He's in the desert. Looks like he escaped from prison. Let's go."
Kuri grabbed Ben's arm and in a moment the two were in front of what appeared to be a giant ant farm.
"Nope. These don't look like that worm to me." Kuri said. "Just. Mutated Ants. Regular old Animo. Be back in two shakes."
Kuri vanished, leaving Ben to contemplate his old enemy, while hopping around as Crashopper, destroying Animo's control helmet. Suddenly there was an explosion and the ant farm came toppling down.
"You brats! What did I do to deserve this?" Animo said.
Kuri winked, and apported Animo back to his cell.
She turned to find Ben locked in combat with Mucilator.
Kuri was startled, realizing that the creature was not just any alien but the same one that had been targeting Ben—and it was currently Ben's predator.
Kuri slapped an ofuda on Mucilator, and suddenly all the wayward ants came running on the attack path.
Kuri grabbed Ben's hand. "Time ta go. But yeah. You're being hunted."
