CHAPTER 12: THE FALL OF OLYMPUS

Ghosts have come into existence since the first conscious man had faced death, and their collective psyches have contributed to the mass underverse of consciousness since the human species had first developed a mind past mere primal instincts. Many had come back with abilities endowed upon them by the power of their own beliefs; consciousness reforming to reflect the life that once was into a new afterlife.

Great are many of the powers the deceased carry, but none so much as the ghost by the name of Clockwork.

With an origin unknown and abilities known even less, what is known about Clockwork is that he controls the flow of time itself, balancing out multiple variations of possibilities in time to steer the course of history towards the best possible scenario. It is recently in which he has seen the course he must take to achieve that future, though what that future is known to none but Clockwork himself.

But the only thing that matters about this fact is, to achieve the ends he desires, he has purposefully set loose the nearly all-powerful being of Dark Danny, now calling itself Dark Danny, loose from his prison and moving towards Fenton City with the intent to destroy Danny Phantom and his family once and for all.

Again, this is known only to Clockwork himself, and he has his own motives for not disclosing this information. Instead, what he does show to the Fentons is a facade of a friendly face, appearing to show himself as a friendly visitor with the purest intentions, seeing that his desired outcome of time is brought forth.

Even when pressed with more urgent matters, Danny still did his best to return his warm greeting with whatever friendly greeting he could arrange at that moment.

"Clockwork. Hell of a time for you to show up." Danny said.

"I am always present in time, Danny Phantom... though I do wish the circumstances for this personal encounter could be on better grounds." Clockwork said.

Clockwork stopped in his conversation to observe the Fenton City and its creators, seeming to take in the sight as if admiring a piece of art many years in the making. His observation seemed to delve deeper than mere outsider interest, but he seemed to be savoring the sights in his eyes, as if he would be seeing it all for the very last time.

"How amazing that your family has come this far and driven humanity to further enlightenment with such amazing creations, and how many years of effort you have put into seeing it complete. To be a part of the making, to be creator of a work and put such effort into it... I do wish I had never been burdened with my knowledge and power. I do wish I could look back on such efforts and appreciate them in full." Clockwork said.

Unaware of the reason behind his speech, much less his appearance, the Fentons grew confused regarding their uninvited guest, looking to Danny for answers.

"Uh, Danny, who's this ghost and why are you not attacking him?" Jazz asked.

"It's okay, guys, he's a friend. This is Clockwork. He's... He's the reason I was able to stop Dark Danny." Danny said.

"I but provided you with the means to defeat the enemy. It was your own efforts which gained you your victory. All I had given you in the end was a second chance." Clockwork said.

"So... This ghost is the master of all time? As in, he controls time itself, how things go?" Maddie asked.

"The answer to that question is more complex than a simple 'yes' or 'no', Madeline Fenton. I do not simply control all of time, I merely direct it towards the best possible future."

Intrigued by the promising answer given by Clockwork, both Maddie and Jack stepped closer the specter, loaded for bear with questions for him.

"Well, that's amazing! How exactly do you see time? Is it more linear or abstract?" Maddie asked.

"And how can you alter the course of history when you know what's going to happen? Is premonition of the future not indicative of its outcome?" Jack asked.

"What kind of person were you in your past life? How did you come to gain control of time? How long have you been around?"

Clockwork raised a single hand, putting the questions to a stop.

"Your questions are of no use as they are many. I did not come here to reveal further secrets of the universe that you have not already discovered for yourselves." Clockwork said.

"And why exactly did you come here, Clockwork? This isn't exactly the best of times for simple conversation. If you came to warn us about Dark Danny, you're a bit late for that." Danny said.

"Of course. I am aware of your encounter with your future counterpart, Danny Phantom. He has recently escaped my hold and is on his way here. That much is already known to us both. I was not able to stop him; he now exists outside of time, just as I do. All I could do was watch the events unfold and see where they can be taken. It is for that reason I have come here to your home."

"So you're here to help us fight, then?" Jazz asked.

"No."

"Then you're here to give us some help?" Sam asked.

"No."

"Then, if you're not gonna help us in any way, why exactly are you here?" Jazz asked.

"And why exactly do you need to come talk to us if you already know what's gonna happen? Do we... not make it through? Please tell me that's not the case." Danny said.

"I cannot tell you the outcome of your fight." Clockwork said.

"Why not? You've helped me when I fought against Dark Danny before, why can't you do it again now?"

Further trying to analyze the reasoning behind Clockwork's visit, Danny's thoughts moved from confusion to despair, fearing the worst scenario for himself and his family.

"We don't make it through this, do we?" Danny asked.

"Again, I cannot tell you the outcome. Even if I were to tell you the results of your fight, whether it be victory or loss, would it truly be for the better for you to know? If you knew you would succeed, would you not grow overconfident and careless? If you knew you would fail, would you not lose hope and give up without a fight? If it puts your mind at ease, no outcome of this scenario ending with your defeat would bring me pleasure." Clockwork asked.

Danny's frustration returned to rationale once again, continuing to ask into the reason for Clockwork's visit.

"Then why are you here?" Danny asked.

"I have come to you to meet with you one last time, and to salute you on your battle. The moment you face now will be one of the most important not only in your lives, but for the flow of time as a whole. It is this information I gift to you before you fight." Clockwork said.

"Is that all?"

"No. I also wish to remind you, regardless of what the outcome of what happens here today, you must all be at your utmost determination and focus. Any less than that, and the best possible outcome for the world, especially the 6 members of your family."

"Wait... '6 members'?" Maddie asked.

"Oh, damn, did I lose count again?" Jack asked.

The initial surprise of Clockwork's comment led the parents in a state of confusion, soon finding that confusion resolved with a look towards Sam. Understanding the thought process behind their looks, Sam looked away with a nervous blush and smile, no longer able to conceal the truth.

"Uh... Surprise!" Sam said.

Excited over the news of a potential grandchild in the family, Jack and Maddie stepped to Sam and hugged her, expressing their joy with large smiles of delight.

"Oh, sweetheart, you're gonna be a mommy! And we're gonna be grandparents!" Maddie said.

"Yeah! Now I can finally load up a little kid with loads of sugar with no consequences!" Jack said.

"Yeah, uh, thanks for spoiling the surprise, pal." Jazz said.

"If it were not needed for the best outcome of this scenario, I would not have revealed such a private matter, Jasmine Fenton. As I said, you will all need to have your highest motivations to fight. And what greater reason is there to fight than to protect one's family, much less its most vulnerable members?" Clockwork asked.

"You still haven't told us why you showing up here is important. Don't give me any clear answer if you can't give one, just at least hint for me, are we going to lose?" Danny asked.

"If you allow yourself to lose, then you will, Danny Phantom. If that is not what you desire, then you must not allow such an outcome to pass."

Having fulfilled his purpose behind his visit, Clockwork began flying towards the ceiling, holding up his staff in preparation to leave.

"Remember. Whatever may come, do not lose your determination and your will. Those are the driving forces of the human soul. Without those forces, one would cease to exist." Clockwork said.

Concluding the reason for his visit, a pair of clock arms began to spin around Clockwork, wiping away the image of the ghost after completing their full revolution. Gone from Fenton City at last, the focus of the Fenton family returned once more to the task of fighting the paranormal threat coming their way, and it is towards Danny Phantom that they place their attention towards to see that goal accomplished.

After taking in Clockwork's message, Danny turned back to his family, still maintaining his forefront look of confidence.

"Well, you heard the man. We've got some work to get done. We've got a ghost to bust." Danny said.

The threat of battling against one of the most dangerous entities in the universe would seem like a task far too great for anyone to accomplish, perhaps even impossible at the mere contemplation of it. To battle against something that possesses power the human mind can barely comprehend would seem less like a challenge, and more like a certain form of suicide.

At the technological Babylon known as Fenton City, where many marvels of state-of-the-art technology are to be found, the task is nowhere near in the realm of impossibility, for this is a place where the impossible is made possible. Here, the Fentons have all they need for the fight, where they create and possess mass-produced military equipment for the next frontier of combat: The afterlife.

With their combined brainpower and manpower, the Fentons have far surpassed what could be thought possible in the realm of modern science, and may have reached what could very well be the peak of what human technology could ever be capable of in terms of harnessing the powers of the Ghost Zone for their own purposes.

Having little time on their hands to prepare for the battle, the Fentons wasted no time to arm themselves, selecting some of their most advanced prototypes for use, and throughly testing their weapons for the oncoming fight. Among those testing their weapons, Maddie and Jazz were the most eager to try the equipment out for the first time, seeing opportunity for science to be found.

They thought of these brief moments before battle not as a time of panic, but perhaps one of the best moments of their lives.

Nonetheless, underneath the mother-daughter bonding shared by the two, there still existed a sense of uneasiness below the delight and joy they were experiencing at that moment in time, preventing them from fully enjoying the time they had to each other. The uncertainty existed in silence in both of their minds, but slowly came to the forefront when it soon was addressed by Jazz.

"Mom?" Jazz asked.

"Yes, dear?" Maddie asked.

"Do you think Danny's gonna be okay?"

"What? Sure, I do, sweetie. Why do you ask?"

"He just seems so upset. I've never seen him act like this before."

"He doesn't seem that upset. He seemed like he was taking control of the situation quite well."

"He's only putting on that face so he hopes you won't see how he really feels. I can tell."

"Well, Jazz, honey, I'm his mother. I can tell how he feels."

"Well, mom, half the time, I had to be his mother because you were too busy catching ghosts to do it, and it wasn't until you found out he was half-ghost you started to play the role."

Jazz's snappy comment drew a look of cautious offense from Maddie, driving her to look at her daughter with a face that communicated said emotion. Immediately regretting her own comment, Jazz let out a heavy sigh, quickly scrapping up an apology to clarify her thoughts.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. It's just... I'm just scared for Danny, that's all." Jazz said.

Maddie accepted the apology with a hug around her daughter, laying a kiss on her head.

"Oh, I know, sweetie. We both love Danny, and we both did a lot to take care of him. I know I got a little out of control sometimes with my own work, but I never stopped loving Danny. Not once. Not him or you. I might not have been there for him all the time, but you did a great job taking care of him, too." Maddie said.

"Thanks, mom." Jazz said.

"Like I said, though, don't worry about Danny. He's always been better at all of us when it comes to fighting ghosts. He's got more reason to worry about us than himself."

"That's the problem. He doesn't seem like he's gonna win. The way he looks, he almost looks like he's trying not to cry... and I've never seen him cry before."

Elsewhere in the flying fortress named Fenton City, as armaments were being prepared for the family to battle with, another member of the family sought to retrieve another fighter needed for the incoming invaders as well. Walking down the halls of Fenton City, Sam reached a select room reserved for said needed fighter, stepping inside to provide it with a greeting.

Reaching for a small table near the door, she selected a dog treat from it, waving it to get its attention.

"Hey, boy! Up and at 'em!" Sam said.

Coming to the summoning of Sam, the fighter revealed itself at last, showing itself to be the ghost dog affectionately named Cujo by Danny and the family. Reserved in the room with multiple dog toys and furniture to keep it occupied, it showed itself in the form of a small green dog, showing no signs of hostility or posing any threat.

Instead, it smiled up at Sam with an affectionate bark, happy to see one of its owners come visit it.

"Listen here, boy. We've got a big job for you now. There's a lot of bad ghosts we need you to help us fight. Think you're up for the challenge?" Sam asked.

Cujo responded to the request by changing its form into a larger version of itself; its face appearing far meaner and more threatening than its former kinder and happier version of itself. It completed its threatening transformation with a loud growl, as well as a deafening roar to back up its offensive stance.

Sam rewarded the ghost's efforts by throwing the treat to the dog, who ate it up in a single bite.

"Good boy. Keep up that attitude, and we got this in the bag." Sam said.

Rewarded for its efforts with a treat and kind words, Cujo responded by ending his threatening appearance, displaying a happy face once again over its larger and more intimidating body. Said face also laid an affectionate lick over Sam's face, leaving a large trail of ectoplasmic dog slobber over her face.

"Blech... Somebody get some hot water and disinfectant." Sam said.

As preparation continued throughout the city, all members of the family doing their part to ready themselves for the battle, Danny, conversely to the rest, stood alone in his own thoughts, still harboring anxieties about the coming fight; questioning whether all their efforts would be able to stop the coming threat of Demon Phantom.

Given a surprise visit and cryptic message from the supreme being of time named Clockwork, the outcome of the event seemed all too unclear, and victory less like a certainty than even thought before. The visitation of the specter seemed less like a show of support in his mind, and more like a paying of final respects.

It is with this thought that drives him even deeper in confusion and fear. Lacking confidence in his own abilities, growing nihilistic at the idea of even attempting to battle the incoming threat to his family, the fear begins to cripple his sense of rationale again, undermining all the powers he has gained and honed over the years.

However, that same sense of dread and fear also put images of his family, all tattered and dead, appearing in his head, in turn giving way to emotions stronger and more prevalent than the depressing thoughts that plagued his mind. Strength began to find his way above the water once again, giving him the needed motivation to push himself on through and succeed.

The newfound strength he feels, coupled with the sense of uncertainty regarding the outcome, are conflicting thoughts that spar with one another in his mind, both battling to seek dominance in his overall thought process and outcome. Intense as the battle is, he finds the only way to avoid it is to place his mind on the fight with Demon Phantom and the ever-approaching ghost threat...

...and, in the resolution of the threat, both battles will have their final outcome.

Oblivious to his son's troubles, Jack Fenton placed a heavy hand on Danny's shoulder, breaking him out of his current train of thought and into the physical world once again. Recognizing his father trying to find a good bonding moment with his son, Danny spared him the time to talk, allowing the two to connect before what could be the last time the two may speak together again.

"I gotta hand it to you, Danny, nothing brings the family closer together than a paranormal threat from another dimension." Jack said.

Danny, slightly encouraged by his father's lighthearted humor about the situation, gave a bittersweet smile, alleviating some of his troubles.

"Thanks, dad." Danny replied.

"I tell you, Fenton City sure looks good like this. We came a long ways from just building over top of a little house on the corner, didn't we? We built all this ourselves, didn't we?" Jack asked.

"Yeah. We sure did."

"Yep. And I'm proud of it. We get to live in the sky all the time, working on all kinds of new ways to fight ghosts. But you know what makes it worth it all? Having the best family a man could ask for, including a great son who was a complete accident."

Realizing the poor wording in his intended compliment towards his son, Jack, in a rare moment of lucidity, recognized his mistake, quickly attempting to correct it.

"Er, I mean... A great son who had a complete accident. No, that's not... Damn... I mean... Uh... What's it called when you find something by mistake that helps you in life?" Jack asked.

"Accidental success?" Danny asked.

"Yeah, that's it! I was just about ready to give up on the whole ghost-shtick, but you managed to set everything back on course just by walking right into the portal and turning it on from it inside like a complete idiot, just like your dear old dad! All because of you, we've got all this, the world has a better understanding of ghosts, we're all filthy rich, and we all have a better future to look forward to."

"Heh-heh... Yeah, right."

Looking past his father's poor wording regarding the origin of his powers, Danny began to reminisce over the life-changing event, seeing how far his life had evolved since that moment in time. What seemed like a simple misadventure in his youth turned not only into a complete change in the course of his own life, but a complete alteration of human history itself, all because of one simple mistake he made as a teenager.

In the midst of those thoughts, however, a sense of regret also followed in the nostalgia that began to place his mind years back. Through that same simple mistake, he has led himself and his family to be in many different life-threatening situations, with narrow escapes following each encounter.

Moreover, there is also the thought of the destruction that the ghosts he has battled throughout the years has caused, and what worse changes that have come to the world as a result of it. Images of the idea of what the world would look like had he not stepped through the portal had come to his mind, and the contemplation of the possibilities had led him further into a fit of negative emotion.

His father, however, returned to his own absent-minded fits of absurdity, taking him out of such mindsets yet again.

"You know what, though? It sure could use a few snacks around here. Preparing for a ghost fight sure makes me hungry. I'd better go stock up on some more Fenton Fudge Pancakes!" Jack said.

Immediately losing track of the seemingly touching moment between himself and his son, Jack rushed off to grab his newly invented and extremely unhealthy snacks for the coming fight, preparing to scarf down many empty calories to fuel his old body for it. Danny, not amused by his father's foolishness, sighed at his silly actions, responding to him with a chuckle.

Once again, he is out of his slum of dark thoughts, keeping a tone of optimism in the face of opposition.

Just as he was brought cheer by one of his family members, another had come to bring him good news behind the incoming battle, promising a better outcome to the fight than he had expected. Turning at the response of incoming footsteps, Danny watched as Sam approached with Cujo following her, holding the ghost dog by the collar to lead him to his master.

"Hey, Danny, look who's here to see you." Sam said.

Cujo greeted Danny with a smile and a bark in his docile form, gaining a smile and similarly warm greeting back from Danny.

"Oh, look who it is! Man, am I glad to see you again. How you been doin', boy? How you been doin'?" Danny asked.

Danny greeted the small dog with vigorous rubs on both its head and belly, leading Cujo to roll on his back and pant in satisfaction of his treatment.

"You ready to take on some mean ol' ghosts and show 'em what's what?" Danny asked.

Cujo replied by licking Danny in the face, gaining laughs out from his owner as his coarse tongue lapped across him.

"Good boy. You go on and relax for a bit, okay? Mom and dad need to talk for a minute." Danny said.

Dismissed to be left to his own devices, Cujo wandered off to find another way to occupy his time, allowing Danny and Sam to speak together in private.

"Of course he decides to kiss you when he's in puppy mode. I got the full treatment trying to bring him out." Sam said.

The two shared a chuckle together at the joke, stopping to share a brief glimpse of one another. Spending a good portion of their time together hunting ghosts, to battle against them as a team again is not a new experience, but, nonetheless, it brought the pair a sense of alertness to what outcome they may be led to.

Unlike Danny's unsure reservation about the battle, however, Sam held no such feeling of caution or fear. Reaching to her sides, she pulled out two ectoplasmic blasters, spinning them in her hands like a gunman of the old west, catching them and aiming them towards Danny before lowering them down again.

"So, Danny, ready for this fight?" Sam asked.

"I still don't know about this." Danny asked.

"How? This is what we do all the time. Only we're doing it with a bigger, badder target. You know how the saying goes: Bigger they are, the harder they fall."

"I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the baby. Did you forget?"

Danny pointed to her stomach, reminding her of the life growing within her.

"I didn't. But if this guy is as bad as you say he is, then the best chance I have is fighting with you and the rest of the family, where we can take him down faster." Sam said.

"Are you sure that you're up to this? The last thing I want to happen is for you to get hurt. You can hide in the Ectoranium vault and nothing could happen to you at all. You'd be safe the whole fight." Danny said.

"But you wouldn't. Besides, worst case scenario, he wins, and I'm trapped inside a vault for the rest of my life, until he figures out how to get it open and kill me. I'm better off with you."

Danny and Sam shared a hug together, taking a silent, strengthened renewal of their vow to protect the unborn life inside of her.

"Just remember that there's two of you to look out for now, okay?" Danny asked.

"I will. You just give 'em hell for me and I'll give 'em hell for you." Sam said.

With the last of the preparations for battle finally complete, the time now rested on the task of waiting, having little else to do in order to be ready for the fight. The final task remaining for the Fentons to complete laid on temporarily shutting M.I.S.T.E.R. down, for fear of any of the ghosts compromising his system.

Said task laid on the shoulders of Danny, confirming the last of the security measures with M.I.S.T.E.R. before deactivating him.

"I am quite certain that none of the ectoformic threats approaching Fenton City will be of any direct threat to me, Master Daniel. You have designed me with highly efficient firewalls that even many top governments have trouble accessing." M.I.S.T.E.R. said.

"I know, M.I.S.T.E.R., but we can't take any chances here. I don't know what Skulker can do mixed with Technus when it comes to any electronics, but we can't afford to find out. Stand by and shut all non-essential functions in Fenton City down, and keep all Jazzbots deactivated until further notice." Danny said.

"As you wish, Master Daniel. I bid you good luck on your fight."

Obeying its last order given, the artificial intelligence named M.I.S.T.E.R. deactivated all power to the many functions in Fenton City, putting only the bare essentials of life support and its air suspension gear running, keeping the city afloat and liveable for the Fentons to battle in.

Ready for the battle at last, the Fentons aligned in the room and waited for the arrival of the threat, preparing their last stand.

"Well, sweetie, we've got the whole family together and all power focused in this room. We'll back you up in any way we can." Maddie said.

"Thanks, mom. Hopefully this shouldn't be too hard with everybody here... I hope." Danny said.

"Don't worry about it, Danny boy, we're in good shape. Those ghosts can try to get in here, but nothing'll be getting out of here in one piece." Jack said.

"Except us. And especially Sam. Remember: We all protect Sam. She's the VIP."

"Shouldn't that be 'VIPP'?" Jazz asked.

"Huh?"

"Very Important Pregnant Person."

Unamused with Jazz's joke, Danny and Sam shared an annoyed groan, while Jack and Maddie let out chuckles.

"Heh-heh. Our baby girl's still got it." Jack said.

"See, Danny? You're not the only one who can make jokes." Jazz said.

Signalling the approach of the undead enemy at last, Danny's breath let loose from his mouth in a blue mist, warning him of the approach of the ghosts.

"Cut the chatter. They're here." Danny said.

Danny's sentence was soon followed with a sudden flash of light appearing in the middle of the laboratory, placing all of the Fentons' attention solely on the new arrival. The moment which the family had been waiting for had arrived, and all waiting had come to an end, setting the official beginning to the fight.

While he was well aware of the coming threats of his evil self and his new minions and had plenty of time to prepare, the very sight of them all combined in his own home was an unsettling one to Danny Phantom, and once again brought forth feelings of uncertainty, bringing back the necessity to put them aside and focus once again.

As the flash concluded, Demon Phantom and his 4 horsemen spontaneously appeared within Fenton City, signalling their arrival at last.

His family, taking the lead in response to the threat, raised their weapons against the arrival of the invaders. Armed with several anti-ghost weapons, Maddie cocking and charging an ectoplasmic cannon, Jack powering up a large machine gun, Sam armed with a pair of pistols, Jazz suited in her Fenton Peeler, and Cujo growing large and growling, they all stood behind Danny; the family standing ready for battle.

Just as the Fentons were armed and ready for war, Demon Phantom and his horsemen were also displaying themselves to be ready for battle; SkulkTech raising his own weapons, Ember holding a pick to her guitar, the Fright Knight holding his sword up, and Vlad charging ectoplasm in his hands.

Each side was a force to be reckoned with, and showed no signs of backing out of the fight now.

While the sight of the 5 invaders alone were enough to unsettle Danny, the fact that among them was Vlad Plasmius was no help whatsoever to the situation. Meeting with a man he very much considered his archenemy for many years, fearing his return where he never even considered the return of Demon Phantom, the animosity between the two had reignited once again.

"Vlad." Danny said.

"Hello, Danny. Surprised to see me again after all these years?" Vlad asked.

"Not really. I had a feeling we'd fight again for a while. I just wish you'd have stayed on whatever rock you landed on."

"I'd lost my memory on that 'rock' and had very much considered that, if it wasn't for our new mutual friend here returning my memory again. I had 10 years of hating you bottled up in my unconscious mind, Danny. Getting it all back at once was like a huge punch to the gut. A punch that I intend to return to you many more times over."

Observing the other defenders standing before him, also in his eyes were Jack and Maddie Fenton, two people he once called best friends, and soon called rivals. Now, they stand before him simply as enemies; all pretense of pleasantries gone between them, and each party looking on one another with disdain.

"And it looks like the rest of the gang's here, too. Good ol' Jack and Maddie. The beard's a good look for you, Jack." Vlad said.

"And prison blues look better on you, 'Vladdie'. Fitting for a scumbag like you. To think I was friends with you, when you didn't give a damn about any of us at all." Jack said.

"You're the imbicile who turned my face into a pizza with that butchered experiment of yours. But, in retrospect, it's not so bad now that I look at it. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have any of my powers nor my wealth... Well, I've still got my powers, anyway. The only reason I really held so much hatred over you was for ruining my chances with Maddie. Speaking of which... Hello again, Maddie-dear."

Unamused with Vlad's flirtations, Maddie Fenton aimed her large ectoplasmic cannon at him in response.

"And you aged like ice cream. I actually thought of you as one of the family for the longest time. To know who you really are, and how many times you've tried to hurt my son, you're nothing but another ghost to me. I hope you brought some alien lube back from space, because I'm going to shove this cannon up your ass and blast it out your mouth, Vlad!" Maddie threatened.

"My, my, Maddie. Much more fiesty this time around. Well, I've just been in an alien prison for god knows how many years, so I'm afraid I've had more than my fill of unwanted anal pleasures than I care to have. It hasn't happened as much in the past year, so I suppose I lost some of my sex appeal. You, on the other hand, look as beautiful as ever. You aged like a fine wine." Vlad said.

"Blech. And you've stayed just as much as a creep as ever, Vlad; hitting on my mom right in front of me. The more things change, the more things stay the same, isn't it?" Danny asked.

Having his fill of time wasted with introductions between one another, Demon Phantom let out a loud 'ahem' in the air, placing all attention towards him.

"Dear boys and ghouls, as much as I'm enjoying the playful banter you're all giving each other, may I suggest that perhaps you spend you energy fighting each other rather than wasting it on arguing with each other?" Demon Phantom asked.

"No need to tell me. Just saying hello to some old friends. I'm more than ready to fight when you are." Vlad said.

"Likewise. Let's do this, old man." Danny said.

Amused at the seemingly low resistance from his opponents, Demon Phantom gave a smug smile, chuckling off the threat. Rather than respond to Danny's comment himself, he stood back as Vlad volunteered to respond, holding up a hand glowing green with ectoplasm.

"Be careful about what you say about old men, Danny. For like old dogs..." Vlad began to say.

Vlad then shot several ectoplasmic blasts from his hands, aiming them all straight at his primary target of Danny Phantom.

"...THEY'VE ALWAYS GOT OLD TRICKS!" Vlad shouted.

[Soundtrack Cue: White Zombie - Feed the Gods]

Danny, in response to the incoming strikes, jumped into the air, quickly avoiding the onslaught of ectoplasmic energy being fired his way. Stopping himself in the air and maintaining his altitude, he responded by charged an energy blast of his own, preparing to counter the attacking force at last.

Raising their weapons once again, the Fentons followed suit.

"Fenton Family, Go!" Danny shouted.

The Fentons, all armed to the teeth and more than ready to comply with the command, opened fire upon the invading ghosts. Unable to attack under the heavy rain of artificial hellfire, the ghosts were forced to fall back behind a force field emitted by SkulkTech, providing them with temporary cover against the bulletstorm.

With their opponents temporary held down, the Fentons began approaching the ghosts, continuing their fire as they moved closer. Trapped under an onslaught of fire within an instant of their arrival, the prospect of fighting back no longer became their goal, but now a necessity.

"The enemy is approaching, my liege! We must drive them back before they overcome us!" Fright Knight said.

"Thank you for your contributions, Captain Obvious. I can handle this." Ember said.

Taking her guitar in hand, Ember played a power riff, sending off a soundwave with enough power to knock the Fentons on their feet, putting an end to their gunfire and giving the group of ghosts an opportunity to strike back. SkulkTech, taking the opportunity first among his teammates, prepared several of his weapons to open fire on the downed Fentons, lowering his force fields in the process.

The action in preparation to attack had in turn left an open window for Danny to attack, which he instantly exploited, charging an ectoplasmic blast and fired it straight at the group of invading ghosts, knocking the tight group of 5 apart. The Fentons, having their enemies now separated, each took an enemy of their own to handle.

Maddie opted to take on the Fright Knight, Jack chose to attack SkulkTech, Jazz took on Ember, and Danny faced himself off against Vlad, each having a score to settle. Respecting the wishes of the rest of the family, Sam opted to stay back from the battle, not trying to endanger herself for no good reason.

Unlike the rest of his own underlings, Demon Phantom took himself aside from the fight to observe instead, waiting for his opponents to weaken themselves on his pawns and allow himself a much easier and a better-ensured victory over Danny Phantom at last.

And, as he might add, provide himself with some entertainment by watching the fight as well.

[Soundtrack Cue: KMFDM - Glory (War & Slavery Mix)

Maddie, taking on the undead black knight known only as the Fright Knight, immediately opened several ectoplasmic blasts upon the knight, launching absurdly large antimatter energy projectiles on her target. Despite the many shots fired on her enemy, none had managed to inflicting any damage on the Fright Knight; his armor proving itself more than tough against any threat, despite its medieval appearance.

"Foolish wench! Even the hardiest of knights could never hope to break through my armor. What makes you think a simple handmaiden would have fair chance against it?" Fright Knight asked.

Brushing off the numerous attacks, not able to be defeated by simple blunt force, the Fright Knight prepared his own blunt force by the simpler means of using his sword. Holding up his sword, the Fright Knight threw it down and landed a swift strike to Maddie's ectoplasmic cannon, knocking it out of her hands and temporarily disarming her.

"You clearly missed out on the women's rights movement. Not every married woman you meet's a simple housewife. We've got our own lives and hobbies!" Maddie said.

Maddie, not one to be left without any weapons or defeated so easily, compensated by pulling two small blasters from a pair of holsters on her thighs, firing multiple carefully aimed blasts straight to the Fright Knight's face. Protected by a helmet just as strong as the rest of his armor, the attacks once again had little effect, leaving him able to continue moving towards her with his sword held up.

However, one blast managed to make its way into the small opening in his helmet, hitting him in the eye. Pained by the damage done to his eye, the attack had resulted in knocking him back, causing him to scream in pain. Holding his head down, he covered the damaged eye socket, attempting to recover from the injury to return to the fight still at hand.

Upon turning his head back to his opponent, releasing his hand from his face, the Fright Knight revealed the damaged eye socket; the now-empty socket leaking out green ectoplasm and blinding him on his left side. Not at all pleased about his injury and lost visual organ, the Fright Knight charged his sword with ectoplasmic energy, preparing another powerful strike on his opponent.

"HARLOT! I SHALL MAKE YOU PAY FOR YOUR INSOLENCE!" Fright Knight said.

Quickly responding to the incoming strike, Maddie took out yet another weapon stashed away in her clothing, her signature Anti-Creep Stick. Holstered in the form of a small bat, the bat expanded to full length when it was removed from its sheath, glowing a bright green much like the Fright Knight's own sword.

Holding up the Anti-Creep Stick in the air, her weapon managed to hold back the incoming strike of the Fright Knight's sword, stopping the blade before it could come into contact with her face. Raising her feet towards the Fright Knight, Maddie pushed against her enemy, taking notice of his stance leaning forward, and kicked him over her head, leaving him to crash into the ground behind her.

Picking himself from off the ground, the Fright Knight returned to Maddie to strike once again, but found his strike brought to a stop much quicker, and with a target now prepared to strike back. Throwing her Anti-Creep Stick to the Fright Knight again, the next move of defense came not from Maddie, but from the Fright Knight himself, now putting the two into a duel on equal grounds.

Clashing their blunt weapons against one another, each enemy showed no signs of relenting or fatigue, not even Maddie in her mortal human body compared to the ghostly form of the Fright Knight. Continuing to battle against each other, their duel carried on without any clear end, and the winner as of yet undetermined.

"I was wrong about you, woman. It seems that the female species has overreached itself far more than I thought. It will be my honor and my pleasure subjugating you in your place once again!" Fright Knight said.

Clashing her bat with the Fright Knight's sword one last time, Maddie aimed the end of the Anti-Creep Stick towards his face, pressing a button on the weapon's hilt. The end of the bat began to open and glow, showing a charge of energy inside ready to be released on the target.

The Fright Knight quickly understood he himself was to be the target of the energy, but the realization came too late to change the outcome.

"No thanks. We already abolished the Republican party." Maddie said.

Out from the Anti-Creep Stick fired a large blast of ectoplasm, sending itself straight to the face of the Fright Knight. Not expecting such a large projectile of energy to be fired at him, the blast threw him on his back and separated him from his sword, bringing him to defeat at last.

Stepping on the chest of the Fright Knight, Maddie raised her bat one last time for a final attack.

"Chivalry is dead. Welcome to the 21st century." Maddie joked.

Maddie made one throw of her Anti-Creep Stick to the Fright Knight's face, leaving one last humiliating strike on his defeat.

[Soundtrack Cue: Powerman 5000 - Bombshell]

In another arena of this home turned battlefield, Jack Fenton, in another rare moment of clarity of mind, had his own attention taken in full, being placed against the newly-creation fusion ghost of SkulkTech; both bulkier opponents with extensive knowledge of both battle tactics and skill using ectoplasmic weapons.

Each of them took to firing on one another with their respective arsenal of weapons, taking cover behind objects like knocked-over tables and crates to avoid the other's gunfire. The eventual outcome of the approach soon resulted in a style of gunfight not unlike that of one from the Old West; both opponents staying behind cover and firing on each other without gaining any track.

With both enemies having more than enough firepower on each other's hands, and the skills to use them properly, the firefight quickly found itself led to a deadlock, which both fighters quickly realized. Where SkulkTech stuck with the approach in hopes of finding success at last, Jack, older and less tolerant of such nonsense, did not desire to stay in their stalemate any longer.

Trying a different approach to defeat his enemy, Jack abandoned all his projectile weapons in favor of two ghost batons, specially fitted with ectoranium to be used against undead threats. Holding up the two batons, Jack gave them a loud clack against one another, inviting his enemy to a more personal battle.

"Hey, big boy! Enough of these shallow Sam Peckinpah games! How about you come fight me like a man?!" Jack shouted.

Though possessing many of the clever yet cowardly traits of Technus, SkulkTech still possessed the hunter's ego of Skulker, leading him to accept the offer. Retracting his projectile weapons back into his suit, he unsheathed two blades from his forearms, grinding the two blades together and producing a loud and intimidating scraping sound accompanied by many flashy sparks.

"Sounds good to me. I hate stalemates. I like to hunt my prey head-on and see the life drain from his eyes. I'm gonna skin you alive and make a year's supply of condoms from the hide from your fat ass, old man!" SkulkTech said.

"And I'm gonna melt you down into a whole armada of Fenton Fudge Pancake Makers out of you, you bulky little whippersnapper!" Jack replied.

The two combatants wasted no more time on further testosterone-laced quips, both rushing towards each other and swinging their melee weapons and at one another in a personal fit of mortal combat. Despite their large body sizes, each opponent struck fast and viciously with each swing of their weapons, showcasing plenty of energy in both fighters to prove a challenge.

SkulkTech, armed with bladed weapons and the mind of a genius calculating his decisions, carried an obvious lethal advantage in the fight, but Jack held more experience with hand-to-hand combat in his years of experience of ghost-hunting, making the match a toss-up regarding any semblance of a winner.

Managing himself with his two simple batons, Jack still succeeded in deflecting away each and every strike from SkulkTech's blades, once again proving his combat worth despite his advancing age. Frustrated with Jack's excellent display of combat skills, SkulkTech began to grow careless, leaving his attacks to grow less coordinated as the fight continued.

As SkulkTech threw his blades towards Jack in a closing motion, Jack parried the attacks put the two in a stalemate of might, leaving their arms extended out to their sides. Making the most of his situation at hand, Jack landed a headbutt to SkulkTech's face, temporarily knocking him back and disorienting him.

Taking the new opening as it presented itself, Jack landed a pair of strikes to the sides of SkulkTech's head, further stunning him and making him lose his concentration in the fight. Finally, Jack lifted his robotic leg in the air, pumping up the pneumatic pumps and servo motors to their peak, and released the built-up mechanical energy in a sharp kick to SkulkTech's chest, knocking him on the floor.

Seemingly having defeated his opponent, Jack stood over his defeated target in pride, declaring himself the victor.

"Word to the wise, sonny: Always fear an old man in a profession where men die young." Jack said.

In response to his apparent defeat, SkulkTech used a new weapon in his arsenal, and one that brought surprise to even the experienced ghost hunter Jack Fenton.

"Word to the not-so-wise, old man: Those same young dead men can still fight again!" SkulkTech said.

Created out of a fusion between the ghosts of Skulker and Technus, the being named SkulkTech carried two separate minds and trains of thought, almost too different and in conflict with one another. A fusion between ghosts is not an impossible concept with such conditions...

...but separation is still more than possible, as one half of SkulkTech had proved. Separating himself from the whole, Skulker had split from Technus, putting a temporary end to the fusion of SkulkTech. Having borne a beating from their mutual target, Skulker left behind the defeat and fatigue, as well as a more strategic mind, behind in Technus, choosing to continue his fight by himself.

No longer restrained by the reserved mind of Technus, Skulker presented himself once again to fight, drawing his blades to continue fighting.

"Round two, old man. Let's go." Skulker said.

"Two against one, huh? Kids these days. Well, two can play at that game. Cujo!" Jack called.

At the beckon of one of his masters, the undead canine named Cujo leapt to the arm of Skulker and laid a loudly audible 'chomp' into the specter, bring forth both ectoplasm leaking from his body, and a loud, shrill scream that did not match the maculine form of Skulker.

"AAH! THAT'S MY SHOOTING ARM! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!" Skulker shouted.

"Another thing you should fear about old men, son: We're dog people." Jack said.

[Soundtrack Cue: L7 - Mr. Integrity]

In another corner in this corner of Fenton City, the budding scientist Jazz Fenton was pitted against the undead superstar Ember McLain;

Armed and armored with a Fenton Peeler suit, personally customized to carry multiple functions and large ammo reserves for battle against any possible ghost threat, Jazz has more than enough to defeat her current enemy. Ember, however, armed with a new and more powerful guitar, a sonic weapon capable of emitting lethal soundwaves that can destroy any form of matter with the right tone and frequency...

...is more than a challenge to defeat, as she currently proves herself against Jazz, playing a solo on her guitar with her fingers moving at speeds that would rival Eddie Van Halen. Each note played from the guitar fired several small soundwaves at Jazz in a rapid-fire succession, pelting her with the soundwaves like bullets flying out from a machine gun.

Standing against the onslaught of musical notes, Jazz aimed her twin ectoplasmic blasters at Ember and began firing, hoping that her own skills and weaponry would outmatch those of Ember's. Continuing to fire on one another, the two pushed forward to one another, hoping that one or the other would fall before their own resistance to the attacks wore down.

Jazz was the first to find her breaking point. Even as strong as she designed her suit, even her upgraded Fenton Peeler was not enough to withstand such a beating, as evidenced by the chunks of metal beginning to fly from her body. Needing to put herself out from the line of fire, Jazz ducked behind a large crate for cover.

Her choice of cover, however, lost its effectiveness very quickly; its wood build having less of a chance than her Fenton Peeler's metal build. Advancing on her enemy, Ember began reducing it down with the many soundwaves she fired, continuing to play aggressively as she moved closer and closer.

"That's right, baby, I'm Ember, and you will remember! All the boys are gonna want me, and all the girls are gonna wanna be me! And I'm gonna start my world tour using your dead body as my new microphone stand!" Ember shouted.

Just before the last piece of wood was shot fresh off the crate, Jazz, preparing her ectoplasmic blasters once more, jumped out from her cover to make her counterattack. Being sure to aim her shot carefully, Jazz directed her shot for Ember's guitar, seeking to disable her primary weapon in the fight.

"I don't think so. I've already gone through my shitty pop-punk teen phase!" Jazz said.

Squeezing the trigger to her weapon, Jazz landed a well-placed shot straight for Ember's hand, forcing her to drop the guitar and stop playing to tend to her injured hand. In the process of dropping the guitar, the three treble strings broke from her guitar, disabling her use of smaller soundwaves.

More damaged over the destruction over a musical instrument rather than her own battle capabilities, Ember took the loss of her beloved guitar more than personally, vowing to bring retribution for her lost instrument; displaying her love for music even after her own bitter end.

"My new axe! You little slut, you're gonna pay for that!" Ember shouted.

"Who're you calling slut, you blue-haired bitch? Go back to the Hot Gothic that spawned you." Jazz replied.

Fueled up by hormones and rage by personal insults and degradation, the two young women caught now in a battle now longer sought to abide by any honor or rules, save for the single task of putting the enemy on the ground. Now, what the two had engaged in could be called nothing more than a catfight.

The two angry young women, enraged at one other, quickly began beating each other in a fistfight; their furies reaching brutality levels like no other living or dead girl. Pouncing on top of Jazz, Ember ripped the helmet of her Fenton Peeler off, pulling her hair and immediately punching her face the instant it was exposed.

In retaliation to the beating, Jazz pushed herself up and threw Ember on her back, crawling over top of her to begin returning the same form of attack. Rather than only resorting to punches, Jazz wrapped her hands around Ember's throat and squeezed tightly, beginning to choke her as hard as she could.

The attack seemed to show fruit with gags coming forth from Ember's mouth, but the gags were soon replaced by laughs, bringing a look of confusion to Jazz.

"Hey, dipstick. All those Fenton smarts about ghosts, and you didn't remember something important? You can't choke me to death when I don't need air! I'm already dead, bitch!" Ember said.

Turning the tables again, Ember grabbed her by her neck, bashing her own head against Jazz's until she began to lose consciousness. When her grip had soon loosed itself, Ember picked herself off the ground, grabbing the nearly-limp body of Jazz, and followed her concussive attacks by ramming her head against the wall.

No longer to stay conscious, Jazz collapsed to the floor, barely possessing enough strength to crawl away from her attacker. Stepping away from the defeated Jazz, Ember moved to retrieve her guitar, returning to Jazz to step on her back as she lifted her guitar in the air, preparing to bludgeon her with it.

"There's no room for your science and nerd crap in my world, baby girl. Art's the only thing people need!" Ember said.

"Not from a hack like you, they don't." Sam said.

[Soundtrack Cue End]

Before able to respond to the voice of the Fenton by marriage, Ember felt a a sharp kick straight between her legs, courtesy of a foot coming from Sam. Forced to endure the worst pain that a woman can feel short of childbirth, Ember dropped her guitar and fell to the floor, holding her hands to her crotch in pain, unable to withstand the immense pain from the crude attack.

Having temporarily downed the enemy at hand, Sam stepped to Jazz and helped her back on her feet again, allowing her a chance to recover from her beating. Gaining a chance to mend herself at last, the effects of Jazz's beatings began to lessen, but the same could not be said for Ember, for still did she lay on the ground, writhing in pain over the abuse of her most sensitive unflesh.

"Ow...! You bitch...! You kicked me in the pussy!" Ember said.

"So you get that when you come back? Good to know. Too bad it was wasted on a skeeze like you, Princess Split-Peach." Jazz said.

Repaying her attacker for the abuse she had undertaken, Jazz kicked Ember in the face, leaving her to wallow in pain and pity over her overwhelming defeat.

No longer occupied with their respective enemies, the Fentons reunited once again, recovering from the strenuous fights that each had to push themselves through. Getting a chance to relax at last, the family all looked to one another for overall progress on the battle, finding it all in their favor so far.

"Well, I got mine. Both of 'em, I should say." Jack said.

"I got mine, too." Maddie said.

"Mine just went down. Sam landed the final blow for me." Jazz said.

"It's the most I got out of this fight. I had to do something." Sam said.

"That leaves Danny. How's he been doing?" Maddie asked.

"Take a look for yourself and see." Jazz said.

[Soundtrack Cue: KMFDM - Son of a Gun (Overhauled Mix)]

With no more enemies to conquer, all the eyes of the Fentons lay on the last member of their family, and to the front of the final and most significant battle of all:

Danny Phantom vs. Vlad Plasmius, two half-ghosts with a long history between one another, settling all their past in one final battle.

In this insignificant corner of the universe, reserved in the hangar of Fenton City, no one location is worthy enough for such a battle to ensue, but it serves well nonetheless for both combatants. With their final fight still brewing on since the beginning, the most vicious and personal of them all saved for last, this is a final fight 10 years in the making, and not a second is wasted.

Each party determined to succeed over the other, the two living specters faced off against each other with purpose in every strike, both of their strikes landed on one another with immeasurable numbers of force; their attacks beginning to move faster than the speed of sound and break its barrier with every punch.

The fight between the two moves quickly just as it does brutally, punch after punch being thrown with ultrasonic speeds backed up by the might of the undead. Trying to follow the fight is a difficult task in itself, just barely visible to the untrained human eye, as the Fentons themselves learn in trying to follow along.

"Can you even see what's happening?" Sam asked.

"Just barely. You need to relax your eyes just to get a glimpse." Jazz said.

"Please just tell me Danny's winning." Maddie said.

"Looks like it's a tie right now. We'll see soon enough."

Existing now in bodies of pure emotion, there is nothing physical or mortal to prevent the old enemies from settling their differences at last, and nothing fuels them on but the sole source of power that was their emotions themselves. Spectral images of their own minds, they collide with one another in a supernatural show of brute force, showing repercussive forces in the phyiscal world with the collateral damage done.

Flying back and forth towards each other with innumerable speeds, Danny and Vlad landed fast and powerful strikes to each other, quickly moving back and forth in their confined by spacious battleground to find recovery space and repeat. Forcing themselves on to keep fighting with all personal damage occurring, both refused to let up in their fight until one or the other was dead... or past that.

Continuing to make their mutual onslaught on to each other, their fight soon became less of a battling of two enemies, but instead soon degraded into into a deadlock of two unstoppable forces meeting each other in a fury of passionate hate and self-righteousness in their battle. Nonetheless, the lack of progress on either side did not lead either to surrender, but pushed them on even further to find victory at last.

Their fight pushed itself to speeds even further than accomplished seconds ago, making their fight as of before seem weak in comparison. Still did the fight carry its brutality; the two began to do just as much damage to their surroundings as they did each other, ramming each other into the walls, ceilings, and floor, as well as numerous objects in their way.

Seeing how little effect that their battle was showing, Vlad moved behind Danny and grabbed his arms in a bear hug, preventing him from fighting back any longer.

"Face it, Danny. You can't win here. I've built up years and years of anger and rage, and it's only made my strength all the greater and better than yours could ever hope to be." Vlad said.

Unable to accept defeat at the hands of his greatest enemy, Danny forced Vlad back with a backwards headbutt, landing a blow directly to his nose. Forcing him to release his grip in the process, Danny returned once again to the fight, exploiting the attack he had started to continue.

In trying to land another punch to Vlad's face, however, despite his fist moving at a speed that once again easily broke the sound barrier, his attack had succeeded only in having his fist quickly caught by Vlad's hand, parrying his blow at a speed even faster than him.

"You seem to be under the impression that this is just another one of our little games. I have some silly little plan, you come and stop it, I pick up the pieces, and we go back to it next Tuesday. This is not the old times. I did not come back for you to toss me around and play games like in the old days." Vlad said.

Danny attempted to throw another punch with his free hand, but once again found it caught in Vlad's grip, preventing him from attacking back any further. Continuing to hold each of his fists tight in his hands, Vlad redirected them back at their user, bashing Danny in the face with his own fists.

"I came here to defeat you once and for all. I came to put an end to the games. I came here to win." Vlad said.

Vlad then followed by throwing a foot to Danny's crotch, forcing him to lean down and groan over the blow to his sensitive anatomy. Raising his arms up in the air and gripping his hands together in one fist, Vlad threw them down on Danny's back, sending him falling to the ground.

Flying softly onto the ground once again, Vlad grabbed Danny by the back of the head, holding him by his hair and leaning forward for a whisper.

"This is fate. This is destiny. Just give up now and give your life to me. Like it rightfully belongs to me." Vlad said.

Keeping his hold on Danny's head, Vlad began bashing it into the ground, viciously beating down the hero without mercy or restraint. Carrying anger and hate in his heart built up against his knowledge, he does not have any time or tolerance for restraint, and has only the need to make his enemy die at last.

Done with his attempts to beat Danny into the ground, Vlad flipped his enemy over to his face, raising an ectoplasmically charged hand over his face to prepare a blast. Firing a continuous stream of hellfire on his downed target, Danny raised his hand to block the stream of energy, temporarily preventing the deadly blast of ghost energy bring any harm to him.

"You represent everything that I've ever had taken from me. My fame... My wealth... My company... My love... You took it ALL! YOU LEFT ME WITH NOTHING! YOU MADE ME NOTHING!" Vlad shouted.

Raising up his free hand, Vlad joined it with his firing hand to conjure a second stream of ectoplasm, combining both blasts into one burst to further attack against Danny. Unable to prevent himself from coming to harm with merely one arm raised, Danny raised his second as well, focusing his full energy to block the deadly attack from coming to his face.

"AND I WILL MAKE YOU NOTHING!" Vlad screamed.

Keeping his two raised hands open, Danny retaliated at last by firing a focused ice blast straight to Vlad's face, encasing his head in a block of ice. Unable to phase through the ice, and too thrown off from the surprise attack to effectively comprehend it, Vlad ended his attack and removed himself from off of Danny, quickly making his best attempts to remove the ice from his head.

With enough brute strength and pure rage, Vlad crushed the ice with his bare hands by beating his fists against it, freeing his head and showing his face to be enraged even further. As Vlad had recovered himself to fight once again, Danny, too, was ready to fight as well, brushing off his past attack to continue his own.

"You may have had plenty of time to improve your own power, Vlad, I've had more experience on how to use it... and a few more tricks I picked up along the way." Danny retorted.

Rushing straight for Danny, Vlad put his hands over Danny's head, gripping against him tightly and angrily as Danny tried to grab his hands and pull them back. Coursing ectoplasmic energy through his hands, Vlad began to electrocute Danny's brain, causing him to scream at the unbearable burning pain in his head.

Enduring through the visceral torture, Danny focused his concentration on a new attack, preparing one of his strongest attacks which would defeat his enemy at last. Taking in a large inhalation of energy and placing his mind to a complete focus, he charged up the attack at last, letting forth the most dangerous and deadliest of his ghost abilities known as...

...the Ghostly Wail.

Opening his mouth once more to Vlad, out came from his mouth no longer screams, but instead the destructive force of the Ghostly Wail, directing it point black at Vlad's face. Forced to endure the attack, Vlad knew well what attack it was, but, driven by his own rage and anger, dared not release his grip from Danny, not even for his own safety and self-preservation.

Instead, Vlad forced even more energy into his hands, attempting to end the life of Danny Phantom before the wail could defeat him. Focusing all of his emotion and energy into continuing to hold at his head, he forced even more energy into his hands, still attempting to finish his opponent before he himself would be finished.

The struggle against the two forces of supernature was nothing short of a battle between two gods, and the destruction rained on the rest of Fenton City proved itself as living proof of each of their powers. The very infrastructure of Fenton City itself began to degrade under the effect of the Ghostly Wail, leading pieces of the city to literally fall apart around all its occupants.

Including, of course, the rest of the Fentons, forcing themselves to duck and cover against the falling debris over their heads. Trying to act as a protector to the rest of the family, Cujo wrapped himself around the Fentons, protecting them and preventing the debris from striking them.

"How much longer can this go on?" Sam asked.

"I don't know! The Ghostly Wail's his most powerful weapon he's got! He could bring the whole place down if he keeps it up!" Maddie said.

"And how long until Vlad goes down?" Jazz asked.

None of the Fentons can provide her with a verbal answer to her question, for the answer can only be found by the show of strength between Danny and Vlad; the two forces attempting to dominate over the other to victory at last. The power between each party had increased itself exponentially with each passing second, with neither side showing any signs of relenting any time soon.

Or, so one would believe, had one the most zealous beliefs in the powers of the undead. For as strong as such forces are, placing one against the other results in many different outcomes, as evidenced by the new show of strength beginning to slip from the party of Vlad Plasmius.

Beginning to lose the grip on his enemy's head, his willpower to continue had begin to dwindle as well, making the winner of this duel begin to become clearer by the second. The last hurrah of strength put forth by Vlad Plasmius showed a great testament to his own determination and character...

...but, even with in the form of a ghost, it cannot be held up against a man who will do anything to protect his family.

Losing his grip on Danny Phantom at last, Vlad had succumbed to the effects of the Ghostly Wail, resulting in him getting blasted several feet across the room and crashing into a wall, knocking all breath out of him and finally putting him in a state of defeat at last.

[Soundtrack Cue End]

When Vlad finally recovered himself from the rubble of the wall, he managed to push himself to stand back onto his own two feet once last time, stepping in front of Danny and still appearing ready to fight. Danny, though exhausted from his own show of power, raised his fists and charged them with ectoplasmic energy, still ready to continue fighting to his death.

Despite his mind still willing to continue fighting, Vlad's spetral body no longer had the necessary strength to continue through, weakly falling to the floor in true defeat.

Like Vlad, Danny lost all will to keep fighting as well; the Ghostly Wail draining his body and leaving no more energy to continue fighting in his body. Nearly falling to his knees, his descent was prevented by the rest of his family, helping him to stay on his feet with dignity.

With Vlad defeated, and the invading force of ghosts finally left defeated and their attack squandered, the Fentons were left as the apparent victors in the battle. Taking pride and joy in celebration of their victory, the Fentons all let out loud cheers, letting out their expressions of triumph as one, all victorious in thwarting their home invasion from its undead attackers.

"Hey, we did it!" Jazz said.

"We won!" Sam said.

Cujo reverted to his smaller form and gave a happy bark, accompanied by a howl.

"Hey, you're right, we got them all!" Jack said.

"Of course we did, sweetheart. Was there ever any doubt with me on the team?" Maddie asked.

"Oh, Maddie, you know we could never had made this happen without you."

Jack and Maddie shared a passionate kiss in celebration of the battle being won, much to the disgust of Sam and Jazz.

"Ew, gross. I don't need to see that." Jazz said.

"Old people kissing. Blech." Sam said.

No longer having any immediate threat on their hands, the mood for the Fentons grew careless, brushing off the entire affair as no more than another day on the job. Despite the enthusiasm of the Fentons, however, Danny grew skeptical of their victory, feeling something awry with the situation at hand.

Initial disbelief is what hits him first, then realization is what comes to him at the sudden understanding of the issue.

"So, should I get a thermos and wrap these guys up?" Jazz asked.

"Uh, guys? Which one of you beat Dark Danny?" Danny asked.

With one simple inquiry, the entire mood of joy and victory is instantly put to a stop with what the implication of Danny's question brings the family. Acknowledging the threat of Demon Phantom still at large, the Fentons looked to one another in fear, coming to the realization that the threat is not yet over.

Before any could follow through with the threat still at large, deep chuckles began to echo throughout the room, followed by a loud sound of flesh tearing.

The latter sound brought the attention of the Fentons to its accompanying sound: Sam letting out light groans, as well as a few gurgles. Causation of the sounds came from a large quantity of blood pouring from her mouth, as well as a large, gory opening in her stomach.

The sight brings even further shock and confusion to the Fentons when the body of Sam began to rise in the air, continuing to gurgle and choke on blood as she floated before them. Letting out only struggles for life, the attempt to survive is worth very little, as there are no paths for survival for Sam.

The contextualization of the bizarre scene is at last given when her attacker makes himself visible in the air again, revealing himself as Demon Phantom. Holding a fist and a full arm through the body of Sam, the scene is at last shown to be her murder, and her murderer a counterpart of the same person she called husband.

Adding desecration to the extermination of the expectant woman, Demon Phantom then ripped her body in half, splitting it into an upper and lower half and tossing both pieces across the room. The upper half is what the Fentons are led to watch fall to the ground, seeing the face of Sam and all the despair on it.

Left without many of her internal organs to survive, Sam knows that her death is coming soon, but it is not her own life she is concerned for. Reaching down into her leaking entrails, she grasps at them to find her uterus is not among them, knowing she is separate from her child that would have been.

It is this knowledge that makes her departure all the more unpleasant to endure.

Sam Manson Fenton is dead.

The reality comes to for Sam all too easy, but not so much for the Fentons, who take the news with the utmost rage and fury.

"NO!" Jazz shouted.

[Soundtrack Cue: Disturbed - Stupify (The Forbidden "Fu" Mix)]

Witnessing the death of his wife, Danny does not show any visible reaction to the carnage that has played out just for him, but instead he only manages to watch as both lives had departed from Sam's body, leaving behind a widowed man and a child who will never be born.

The death of his wife brings forth flashbacks of her death during the first encounter with Demon Phantom, bringing images back that terrorize him once again. Unlike the past encounters with these visions which were but glimpses of a time that would never come to pass, the nightmare has at last made itself real, and it has taken from him permanently this time.

No longer knowing what to do, Danny fell to his knees, weakened and left in despair. The show of weakness is of no help to anyone, especially not him, but it is of even less use to the rest of the Fentons, who did not stop to shed tears just yet, but instead act together to avenge the life of the one who would have brought another generation to the family.

Watching them fight on his behalf, the nightmares continue to come to life.

Demon Phantom, no longer wasting time on his targets, manipulated his arms into ectoplasmic arm blades to finish off the remaining Fentons, seeking to end their lives in much more swifter and effecient fashions than he had done with the one he would have called wife in his own time.

Moving to Jack Fenton as he fired artificial hellfire with his ectoplasmic gattling gun, Demon Phantom drove his blade through his head, leaving his body to drop limp.

Responding to Maddie Fenton's ectoplasmic cannon blasts, Demon Phantom pierced through her heart and stomach, ending her life in an instant.

Retaliating against Jazz Fenton in her Fenton peeler, Demon Phantom drove a swift vertical slice towards her, cutting her body in two symmetrical halves.

Avenging his masters, Cujo jumped to Demon Phantom and bit at his throat, only to have his neck broken, letting his spectral form drop to the ground.

As the unofficial pet of the Fentons dissipated into nothingness, all that remained on the battlefield was an array of mutilated and torn corpses, all formerly belonging to the Family that prided itself as the masters of the unknown and supernatural, their name renowned across the globe as synonymous for genius or the future.

The Fenton family is dead.

Save, except, for Danny Fenton. Watching in despair and agony as his evil half tore his family apart, leaving him alone and helpless to fight back, the images he was fed are not even worthy of the highest emphasized terms of horror. Forced to relive his worst nightmare once again, it has played out in front of his eyes, leaving him in a state of emotion unlike he has ever felt before.

Unable to emit any emotion other than shock for lack of ability to process, unable to change into his ghost form and fight back for lack of energy, he cannot do anything but stand in place and continue to watch, unable to wake up from the nightmare despite how much as he desires to.

As Demon Phantom approached his former self, the crescendo of the nightmare plays itself out.

Standing over the horrified and defeated Danny Fenton, Demon Phantom smiled eagerly on the defeated man; were he not about to exact the last of his revenge, the mere sight of the immobile Danny would make any assume he was already dead. But Demon Phantom wished to ensure that his enemy would be dead at last, and he prepared to make it so, turning his hands intangible for said purpose.

"You might be thinking, 'How can this hurt? You've already taken everything from me.' Well, you're very wrong, Danny. I have just one more thing to take from you now." Demon Phantom said.

Driving his hands into Danny's chest, Demon Phantom began to extend his arms outwards, splitting Danny apart from the middle. Danny, as any man would in his position, screamed in agony at the process, not able to mentally comprehend the intense sheer pain that he was undergoing.

What he did not realize, however, was the reason why a mortal human brain could not comprehend why such a pain was coming over him. Looking down at Demon Phantom's hands, he realized that it was none of his flesh that was being split apart, but, rather, spirit being torn from flesh.

When Demon Phantom completed his separation, Danny was left split into two halves, each resting within the his hands. In one hand laid Danny Fenton, the human half, and in the other Danny Phantom, the ghost half. Not being existing as any threat to him, Demon Phantom tossed the human half of Danny Fenton aside, forcing him to watch what he would do next.

"When you die, Danny Fenton, you will know no peace or even damnation of an afterlife. You shall receive nothing but oblivion." Demon Phantom said.

Now holding Danny Phantom in both of his hands, Demon Phantom leaned into his captive and opened his mouth, landing a large bite into his head. Danny Phantom, unable to save himself against what would be his final death, screamed and writhed in immense pain, knowing his end was coming soon.

Starting with a bite out of his head, leaving green ectoplasm to leak from the missing portion of his head, Demon Phantom continued to chew down on the spectral body of Danny Phantom, grinding him into pure ectoplasm to be digested in his own body, all to the disgust and horror of Danny Fenton.

When the devouring had come to an end, Danny Phantom's screams had ended with it, sending the spirit into his descent into oblivion, a state of nonexistence and purgatory. Without his ghost half any longer, Danny Fenton continued to sit in fear of Demon Phantom, almost pathetic in his inability to respond rationally.

Picking up Danny Fenton, Demon Phantom began stepping outside to the edge of the landing pad, holding him over the edge of Fenton city and the long fall to the ground below. Feeling self-preservation start to kick in again, the sight caused Danny to panic and shiver in fear, merely shaking his head in managing to respond.

Pitiful as the plea is, even if he had tried to fight for his own survival in any way he could, all his attempts to live in vain, as he well knew... and Demon Phantom knew.

"Goodbye, Danny Fenton." Demon Phantom said.

[Soundtrack Cue End]

Releasing his grip on the powerless man in his hand, Danny began to fall from Fenton City straight down to the ground, screaming and flailing as he fell from the sky. Seeing the long fall before him, reason and rationale had at last come back to Danny with the end of his shock, with the realization that his life was coming to an end coming far later than anything could be done about it.

Upon falling into the dark abyss below the flying city, Danny was gone, leaving him out of sight from Demon Phantom.

With a simple fall from heaven, Danny Fenton was no more.

Smiling in success of his victory over Danny Fenton, Demon Phantom stepped back inside the main hangar of Fenton City, standing victorious over the defeat of his enemy and the death of his family at last. Looking back on the battlefield and all its casualties, the unconscious ghosts he had made his allies were plentiful in his sight, but more to his interest was the dead Fentons laying before him.

Feeling a release at last, Demon Phantom let out something that seemed like a sigh of relief...

...but that came to a stop when he had spotted something peculiar from one of the bodies, and what he would soon realize what would have been the 6th member of the family. Stepping to the severed lower half of Sam, he spotted a small fetus squiggling in place, seeming to have a final struggle of life from outside the womb.

Glancing on the fetus, taking notice of its developmental status, he calculated something of a nervous system would be in place, giving the potential for a soul within the unborn child. The sight ran an experiment of thought over what possibilities and what kind of life the child would have lived, but such thoughts are past and beyond his caring and concern any longer.

Wishing to remove the sight of the fetus, Demon Phantom stepped on it, squashing it into a bloody paste. Crushing undeveloped flesh and bone underneath his foot, he ground his foot further into the ground, ensuring nothing would be left of the family, removing his foot to leave nothing but a smear on the ground.

With the official death of the last Fenton, he allowed himself his interrupted sigh once again.

"At last. Danny Fenton is gone." Demon Phantom said.

The old city of Amity Park exists as nothing more than an array of ghettos and slums, resting in the underbelly of the more recognized New Amity Park above. Just as gravity is a constant in the Old Amity Park, it is still one in New Amity Park, and things will always fall down to Earth and into the old as it always does.

And it is by this rule that it is known that many things fall into the old city. Some drop their garbage below, taking to heart the old saying: 'Out of sight, out of mind'. Others simply lose items by mistake, accidentally dropping things off roofs or balconies. Some things can simply be forgotten, condemned to fall below and rest with the other things that are forgotten.

Sometimes, however, when some cannot stand to continue the lives that they live, they throw themselves below, hoping that they will find an afterlife of better promise. This case is much more often than many think, and many below take advantage of this trope to collect valuables from the recently deceased.

Such is the case for a pair of scavengers that search the area for what they believe to be one of the latter, moving among garbage bags and rubbish to find whatever might make them some profit. The business they take up is a dirty business in many ways than one, but one must do what they must to survive in a world that has grown too old for them.

"I swear I saw one around here." One scavenger said.

"I didn't see anything. Besides, this is right below Fenton City. Probably just one of their robots that took a wrong turn and fell." Another scavenger said.

"Well, we might be able to find something out of that. All that high-tech gear they're always making, a pawn shop might pay top dollar for that."

"Oh, yeah. Walk into a pawn shop with stolen property and see how far it'd get you."

"Uh... Isn't that the whole purpose of a pawn shop?"

"Yeah, with crap nobody'll ever trace like a TV or a phone. Trying to pawn off some shit from the most powerful corporation on Earth? You can bet your ass that somebody's gonna come for us."

"Okay, then how about returning it for a reward? They'll give us the money if they really have the big bucks."

"They don't give us the money because they have the big bucks. They wanna keep it. Like all rich people. Now shut your trap and let's try somewhere else."

The scavengers moved on to another area as requested by the half of the duo, abandoning all sense of hope for what might be found here. Had they moved in just a little further among the garbage, resting in a pile of trash bags, shallowly breathing and in dire need of help, too weak and powerless to move on his own, too defeated and destroyed to move...

...they would have found Danny Fenton.

"Help... me..." Danny groaned.
