A fanfic about Undertale? Again?

Maybe, but this one is the last one. This is guaranteed. And it's going to go in a different direction, that much is for sure.

Genocide? No. It will still be pacifist. It will be in the POV of my OC, Malory Wares. Let's begin.

Chapter 1:

It had been a long time, but it was definitely a good feeling. What feeling was it? Having finally finished a mod of Undertale, one of my favorite games of all time. With Toby Fox's permission, I was able to create a fan mod of Hard Mode, complete with enemy animations and even a secret final boss for those that defeated Genocide and then started the game by using Frisk's name. A boss fight against Chara, using every trick in the book and having to control a combination soul of Frisk and Asriel together!

I then sighed in relief and proceeded to upload it to Toby's computer. I had to hope he was okay with it, since I was really proud of it. But then, when I went to upload it... I heard something strange on my computer. It felt... off. Some kind of strange noise that sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it. And then, the screen became coated in strange pictures, me gulping as, before I realized what was going on, I felt a bright flash of light and I then gasped as I felt my body... falling?! I was just about to scream before I felt my face collide in a very soft landing in... a patch of yellow flowers? What?

"Another one? Yeesh, maybe dad will get his wish after all," said the voice of... a kid? I then recollected myself and looked around, wondering where the voice came from. And when I did, I was shocked that I was in the starting room for Undertale! I knew that this was way too freaky and immediately tried to pinch myself, to no avail.

"Um... who was that?" was all I could muster to say in my confused state... 'why was I here?' was the question I wanted to ask, though.

"Hmph, you didn't hear me... did you?" the voice asked, me speaking after.

"I did hear you... so who are you? And where are y-" I was about to say before I felt something touch me. I looked at what it was and I was spooked to the point I jumped and fell down onto my ass! It was CHARA! The original of the Fallen Children!

"You can see me?" they asked, me nodding at her. "How? And who are you?"

"I don't know and my name is Malory Wares. And yours?"

"Chara... Chara D," they said, me smiling at that last name initial.

"Well... can I tell you something? I need to get home... but I can't in my current state," I said, the kid looking confused at me.

"What do you mean?"

"Well... um.." (oh god, how do I explain it?! Do they know of the time loops? And why did they... look realistic? Not like the game graphics, but real?) "Um... I don't know, but it's either one of two things. Either I was teleported here from very far away... or I come from another universe where ghosts aren't real," I said, them frowning at me.

"So I'm a ghost to you?"

"You can touch me, so I don't think so... can others see you?"

"No, and I don't really want them to."

"Understood," I said before then walking forward to the next part, where we encountered the flower.

"Howdy! i'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower. You're new here, aren't ya?" the tricky flora asked as I smiled, hoping to fool him.

"Yeah, I am. Can you tell me where I am?" I asked him.

"Of course! You're in the Underground, where monsters reside. Someone should give you a tour, so i guess little old me will have to do," he said. "In order to get through this place, you'll need to get EXP. How do you get it? Through LOVE. Here, take some friendliness pellets," he smirked as he then threw some of his trademark attack at me, which I dodged.

"Uh, hey, buddy, ya missed them. Try again," he said, me responding by saying something to egg him on.

"I'm not buying the act, mister A," I said, him then looking surprised before gaining his wicked grin.

"You know that much, do ya? How did ya guess?" he asked, me smirking.

"Why would I tell you?" I asked.

"Fine, then I guess I have no choice," Flowey said before then doing what I called the Petal storm, where he completely surrounded me with Friendliness pellets. But unlike in the game, I was flanked on all angles and all routes! Like a sphere of pellets waiting to home in on me! I knew that getting hit by this many would be problematic. "DIE!" Flowey said sinisterly before doing a cackle more like a little kid than in the game, as this was in a realistic setting... but just when I thought of how I'd defend against the attack... something shocking happened.

No, literally shocking! I had a sphere of electricity burst out of my body and completely coat my body and expand into a forcefield! This managed to completely evaporate every single petal and left Flowey, Chara, and myself completely in shock! "You can... use magic?" Chara asked before a fireball got sent from further down the hall and slammed into Flowey, sending him flying towards the wall, me then looking at him and seeing him retreat underground.

"What a miserable creature! Torturing such a poor innocent youth!" said the voice of Toriel, her sounding an awful lot like... well, the version of her from Man on the Internet? I looked in that direction and was surprised to see that Toriel had a very nice look to her, despite being a realistic goat. She had the same body type and face, so it did look a bit uncanny with real fur and clothes on, but it was also very nice to hear her voice... but youth?

"You do know I'm 20 years old, right, miss?" I asked, her looking at me with a smile and chuckling before then looking at my serious look and then stopping.

"Wait... really? An adult?" she asked, me nodding as she then looked me all over. Why would she do this? Because, though it pains me to admit it, I was a very short person, roughly 4 feet tall, meaning I looked a lot like a 9-year-old kid, so roughly the same height as Chara was right next to me.

"Yes, can you please stop eyeballing me and answer me why I was able to use some strange forcefield out of nowhere?" I asked, that being enough for Toriel to finally stop looking me over and to look at me in confusion.

"You... used a forcefield? A human that can use magic?" she asked, me then thinking... how could I prove it to her? I then looked to the right and tried to think of making a fireball... and after thinking about it, I gawked at how I formed a fireball in hand and threw it at the wall, which made Chara shocked along with Toriel.

"Wow... ahem... I don't think I've seen a human capable of magic before... I've heard legends that humans could use it, but not without the soul of a monster... can you show me your soul, please?" Toriel asked, me then looking at Chara for advice, her then frowning.

"Put your hand to your chest and push on it with a finger," she said, me then doing so... and surprising myself when I managed to do so... but even more that, when I did, that my soul was... odd.

"What in the world?..." Toriel gawked as she looked at my soul. It was definitely bizarre, even to me, but for more reasons than Toriel. It was the same shape as it was in the game, but my soul was constantly moving from red, to pink, to white, to magenta, and back to red. "I don't sense a monster soul in you... at least, not one that I know of... but I also can't really see your stats either," Toriel admitted, me looking at Chara and her rolling her eyes and simply pointing her finger forward. I then poked the soul and I saw a whole mess of numbers appear in my stats. If you want to know, it looked like this:

Stats:

ATK: -10

DEF: 99

MA: 9999

MD: 5909

EXP: 0

LV: 1

"Well? What did it look like?" Chara asked as I then spoke.

"Um... well, from what I saw, it said my Attack was negative 10, my defense was 99, and then it had MA and MD, with the former being four 9s and the latter being 5909... what do those two numbers stand for?" I asked, Toriel gawking at that.

"Those two are Magic Attack and Magic Defense... a human to have that high of a number in either is unheard of! I've never met anyone with a magic of that high aside from... him..." Toriel said as I saw that look in her eyes. The look of disgust she had with Asgore.

"I know that look. It's the look of betrayal," I said, her then gasping.

"Oh, you needn't worry about that, miss. How about I lead you to my house? I would like to discuss some things with you on the way," Toriel said, me smiling and taking her hand... which felt very furry and soft.

"Don't think of doing anything to her, punk. That's my mom," Chara said, me smiling and rolling my eyes. Sure, I did like both genders, but I didn't know if I should even dare think of doing anything to someone who divorced her husband after a tragedy.

"What's your name, miss adult?" Toriel asked.

"Malory Wares is my name. And what's yours?" I smiled.

"I'm Toriel, the keeper of these ruins. I will help you go through these ruins. Most monsters will leave you alone with a soul such as yours, but I'll escort you just to be safe," she smiled at me.

"I appreciate that, miss Toriel... can I ask you a question on the way?" I asked, her nodding.

"Ask away," she smirked.

"Do you uh... what year is it on the calender? I know it sounds silly, but I suddenly dropped into this place from my computer at home," I said, Toriel looking at me in confusion. "I need to make sure if I'm stuck in another universe, or if I'm still in my own," I said, her smiling.

"Oh, okay... the year is 2022, close to Christmas time for human culture," she said, me being surprised.

"So... that proves it, then? This is my world?... I never expected that there would be monsters around in my world that weren't humans..." I admitted.

"Are you implying that the humans have forgotten about the war between humans and monsters?" she asked.

"It's almost as if it were completely erased from the history books, because nobody talks about it anywhere. Not on the news, not in school, not by word of mouth, not even in books or the internet..." I said, being shocked at how this could possibly be my own reality. Where the story of Undertale was about to unfold under a mountain, with the entire events of the game being in real-life, including magic and soul powers!... So what was my soul supposed to be called?

"It is called: Intelligence," I heard a voice say... one that made me shocked because... I felt it almost everywhere! I looked all around and could not find it, but I didn't alert Toriel about it. But Chara sure noticed.

"What's up with you?" Chara asked me, me holding a finger to my lips and her nodding. "Oh, right... talking to a ghost in front of my mom would confuse her... please don't tell her I'm here, okay?" they asked, me smiling at that and simply asking one question via my other hand. What did I ask.

"XX, or XY?" Yeah, I wanted to know what gender they were, just in case they'd be okay sharing that part.

"Ugh, really? Fine. It's two X's. I prefer either or, but if it makes it easier, just know it annoys me," they said, me deciding to honor that wish, despite now knowing the gender.

"So... what is the surface like without knowledge of monsters or the war we had?" Toriel asked.

"Well... not bad, but not great. The food is to die for, the sights are gorgeous, and there are animals in the wild and even in the cities... but humans have turned into the other definition of monsters, the worst of which do crimes against their fellow humans like murder, exploitation, slavery, and dictatorship while inventing weapons designed to kill or create fear," I said, Toriel sighing at that.

"Not much has changed since 1400, then... that's the year that monsters had war with the humans, us being stuck in the conflict because of humans' far stronger attacks. We were brought nearly to extinction before we surrendered, which they proceeded to lock us under this mountain with a barrier, forged from 7 humans that knew of magic. And ever since, we've been stuck... the humans said to us as we were trapped underground that anything can enter, but the only way to exit is with a powerful soul. And that the only way to destroy it is to attack it with the power equal to 7 human souls... and... um.." she said with a couple tears in her eyes as we reached the spike road, which she held my hand and walked through despite holding back the tears.

"Judging by the wavering voice and the tears... I'm guessing that they only need one more human?" I asked, her sighing.

"Yes..." she quivered.

"And... what happens to the humans?" I asked her, her simply giving me a faded ribbon...

"This is all that remains of the last human that tried and failed to leave the barrier... her name was Flower, nicest and most patient girl I knew... but not patient enough to spend her days in the ruins. She really wanted to see her parents again. It's been 4 years since... since..." Toriel said before stopping and collapsing on the ground onto her knees, me now understanding that this was not the time to egg further. In fact, I'd already egged on enough about 5 minutes ago.

"I'm sorry, miss Toriel... I shouldn't have asked so mu-" I was about to say before I then went to take her by the hand... and I gasped as I touched the faded ribbon and I suddenly felt something happen... something that I didn't know what to think of...
