Chapter 10
After Undyne's first attack, I proceeded to us my magic attack to send a blizzard of snow at Undyne, her shivering after having been coated in snow and her HP only went down a single point. So that made me grin widely at how I didn't do a thing to her. And Undyne then proceeded to shake the snow off of her and try to rush me with her spear, me finding I could slow time by thinking about it and, using this, I faked her out and tripped her, causing Undyne to send her spear into the ground and pole-vault into the wall, me smirking at how, again, only 1 point of damage removed.
"ARE YOU EVEN TRYING TO HURT ME?!" she asked in annoyance, me smirking at her.
"I don't want to risk killing someone who could learn a lot more," I said, her growling and trying to attack me again, her proceeding to swipe her spear against me, but I blocked it with a barrier shield, me parrying every blow like I was in Dark Souls and then, when I saw an opening, I kicked her in the stomach to the ground, her actually healing all her damage from the hit. Because, bear in mind, my attack was -10! So she looked at me in surprise as I then smirked at her.
"Seems an awful lot like when you tried to go after Asgore, huh?" I asked, her eyes going wide before then getting a scowl.
"Shut up! I am not going to lose!" she shouted as she then tried to attack me again, her then attacking more and more and more, me dodging every attack she made before I then tripped her up again, her growling as I saw sweat going down her face... but then, something started to happen to her. Her sweat started to turn blue. And I gasped at this for one reason.
"O-Okay... maybe we should stop now," I said, Undyne panting at me in annoyance.
"No... I WILL NOT STOP!" Undyne said as she then tried to punch me in the face, me then using my powers to try and stop it... she only then noticed that her skin was starting to melt, especially in the hand she punched me with. "W-W-What's happening to me?!" she asked, me then knowing I had to stop it. Save Undyne, prevent the melting, take the excess Determination... and then, when I thought of all of those combined, we all were shocked at how some red gunk left her mouth, I managed to force her skin to re-solidify as it once was, and I then felt the determination go into my mouth and then congeal into a very bad tasting gum! I then took out the cup of root beer that I'd finished and spat it out into it, Undyne looking at me in shock.
"What... just happened?" she asked, me panting at the thing that just happened.
"You probably wouldn't believe it... but I just saved you from death by melting," I said, Undyne looking at me with a glare, me sighing and simply showing her the thoughts of what would've happened if I didn't do anything. Her being melted into a puddle. And she frowned and looked at me with surprise.
"Why? Why would you do that to me when I was trying to kill you?" Undyne asked, me smiling at her as I simply took her by the hand, but knowing to keep up my guard.
"Because I promised I'd save everyone. Even those who'd want me dead," I said, her sighing before then simply walking off... but then, she got a ring on her cell phone.
"Oh, this is odd..." she said before answering. "Heya, Alphys! How's it going?" she asked, that immediately intriguing me. I then decided to listen in via sensing for Alphys's voice with magic... and I was shocked at how, her voice was coming from the True Lab! And in the area with the refrigerators.
"I... Hi, Undyne... I just... I just wanted to hear your voice one last time..." Alphys said, Undyne being confused.
"What do you mean, Alphys? What's going on?" Undyne asked as I then immediately knew what was going on when I sensed tons of Determination near Alphys's location. I knew what was going to happen. And I knew I had to stop it.
"I'm sorry... I can't go through with this... bye, Undyne..." Alphys said, me immediately slowing time and teleporting all of our group to the True Lab right next to Alphys! And even though our clothes got switched up again with me wearing Undyne's armor and her wearing my clothes (which were two sizes too small for her) I then swiped something that Alphys had on her person, it being a vial of pure determination in a syringe!
"OH NO YOU DON'T!" I shouted, Alphys looking at me in shock at me doing that as I saw tons of sweat coming from her body.
"I-I... I..." she stuttered, me looking at her and then Undyne.
"What was that? And why were you going to put it inside of you?" Undyne asked.
"It... It was... D-Dete... Determ..." Alphys stuttered before I spoke the full, blunt truth.
"Suicide attempt by Determination," I said, Undyne gasping at that.
"Suicide?! Why would you think of such a thing?" Undyne asked as she looked genuinely concerned.
"I... I can't... I can't tell you..." she said, me then noting that there were some colored puddles were coming towards us, me knowing what was going to happen next.
"Maybe they can tell us," I said as I pointed to the puddle, Alphys gulping and going into a fetal position and cowering in fear. Why? Because the Amalgamate arrived and it happened to be Snowy's mom... and seeing her in the style of real life? It was both creepy and extremely saddening. Since she was barely able to walk or even keep her eyes open.
"s...no...wy..." she groaned in suffering as Norm hid behind me and Undyne in fear.
"W-What's going on?... What is that?" he asked in concern.
"The reason why Alphys is a recluse," I sighed, Undyne looking at me in concern as Alphys produced some tears. "This is what happens when you have an overload of Determination... it was completely accidental that this happened, as it was an experiment from Asgore's request. Try to find out how to extend the lives of monsters and their souls... But the test subjects melted from all that Determination and merged together into... these," I said, Mrs. Drake then shuffling towards me with pain on her face as she did so.
"s...now... ca...n... i... see... him?..." she asked, me sighing at that.
"I... I can't do this... he said he'd tell everyone... I don't want everyone to hate me... they'd want me dead... I... I'm so scared..." Alphys said as I simply touched Mrs. Drake and proceeded to try the same thing I did with Undyne. Separate, extract the excess Determination, unmelt them... and as before, saying all three caused a miracle to happen! The monsters that were combined with Snowy's mother proceeded to separate one by one, each of them becoming who they were prior as all the excess Determination left their bodies and then entered where I told it to, that being the different vials inside of the open fridges.
It took roughly 30 seconds long to finish the whole process for the combination of So Cold, as I called them, but I finally managed to finish the process and all of the monsters were back to who they were previously! And they all were different monsters, including Rudie, Berdley and his mother, two vegetoids, a little sister to Night Knight, three different Temmies, and the rest of them looking to be monsters from the NPCs such as two fire monsters, a slime, a monster with a hand for a head, a relative of Onionsan, and two other monsters that were surprising to both Norm and Undyne.
"What the?!... Is that... Grandma Semi?" Undyne asked, speaking of one of a skeleton, me assuming it to probably be the skelebros' mother or grandmother. And as for Norm's surprise...
"And Arnotta? Is that really you, sis?!" Norm asked, me smirking at that, but also noting that all of them looked very tired.
"Oogh... I feel so sick..." the slime monster groaned as Alphys was simply left gob smacked.
"Y-You... You just... you..." Alphys said in bafflement as I simply poked her on the arm and tensed her up, but she then looked at me with a big, blubbery smile. "Thank you... thank you so much!" she cried to me as I then sighed and panted a bit.
"Don't thank me yet... that took a bit out of me, so I need to go ahead and ask how many each of the others have?" I asked.
"You mean there's more?" Undyne asked.
"Y-Yeah... a couple more... the least of each one is three monsters, but Endogeny and Watcher have 5 a piece... I'll call them over. Just be careful," Alphys spoke as she then got her phone and proceeded to play the song of Mew Mew Kissy Cutie on it, which sounded like the Mew Mew Power main theme, just slightly different. And then, I had to go and do the same thing to the other Amalgamates... and had to hope they weren't as creepy to look at in person as in the game.
It took roughly 10 more minutes, but we eventually managed to get all of the Amalgamates freed from their old selves and back to normal, which resulted in nearly 3 different fridges being filled with Determination extract, which Alphys then gave to me for safe keeping, me deciding to hold all of it in a backpack that she provided.
"Be sure it doesn't get into the lava and that nobody knows what's in it... I don't want to go through anything bad again after that," Alphys said, but the monsters that we'd rescued from the experiment were all looking at her with kindness and understanding.
"I understand you feel bad, doc... but we held no qualms with you about it... if it were me in your shoes, I'd have done the same thing," Lady Whims said, her being a part of Reaper Bird. But of the lot, the ones that looked the creepiest in real life when combined was Watcher, as they looked a lot like Slenderman mixed with a Bubbleheaded Nurse from Silent Hill 2. Speaking of...
"I just want to ask if we can go home all together now... please?" asked the voice of none other than Susie, the brutish reptile from the world of Deltarune. And she looked to just be a student wearing actual school clothing and not having the same personality as in Deltarune.
"Yes... we can all go home now... we'll need to take turns on the elevator, though," Alphys smiled as I then tried to teleport a specific skeleton next to us, me seeing that, for a change, I did so effortlessly as Sans was next to us and looked confused, before then gasping at all the people around him.
"o-oh... what's up?" he asked after regaining his composure.
"I wanted to know if you could help me in getting everyone out of this basement and back home," I smiled at him.
"heh, i didn't expect you to do it so fast. lemme guess, something bad happened, huh?" Sans asked, Alphys sighing at him.
"I saw... him... the talking flower... he said he knew my secret and that he would... tell everyone about what happened... and that he'd make me look bad in the process," Alphys said, me then trying to sense for said flower and me seeing that he was currently in Hotland and near Muffet's area, him trying to convince her to go after short humans because of them being horrible to spiders. And when I looked in his mind, I saw that he said it, but was all bark and no bite and didn't spread the word to anyone.
"He lied. He was just all bark and no bite," I said, Alphys sighing in relief as she then finally went to her phone and proceeded to go to her different contacts.
"I... I don't know if I can call them... what am I supposed to say?" Alphys asked, me smiling as I simply held her hand.
"Tell them this. Tell them that something bad happened to them, but because of the angel of prophecy, they were rescued from what happened to them. And that you apologize for not saying anything, mainly because of how scared you were of being hated for it," I said, her gulping and nodding. Sans then proceeded to assist in warping the monsters to the main lab above us as I helped her to call each of the different family members to tell them what happened. And I then had to have a rest, since I was extremely tired after having done all of that work on saving the group of monsters. I felt sore all over, so I definitely needed someplace to rest my head.

It took a bit of time to call each of the families that were constantly sending letters, emails, texts, and calls to Alphys, and it quickly became easier and easier as Alphys learned that the monsters were not at all finding her at fault, mainly because it was completely accidental and they were completely understanding. Only one was a bit hostile at first, it being Noelle when she heard about her dad having been stuck there for ages, but I then spoke to her and explained that he was okay and that he didn't hold Alphys accountable either. And my voice managed to calm the deer girl down after I spoke to her.
"O-Okay... so they can all go home, then?" Alphys asked as I yawned and simply laid on the ground, causing Undyne to pick me up.
"Yes, they can all go 'ome," Chara said in her accent from my mouth, which made Undyne confused.
"What the... Why'd your voice change out of nowhere?" she asked as I started to have a rest in the head and gave Chara some contorl for a change.
"Ah'm the other side o' Malory. She gave me a secon' chance as Ah was just a consciousness wivoutta body," she explained, me smiling as I had a good rest.
"Could we possibly have a bit of a rest at your place, miss Undyne?" I asked from the head, her smirking at me.
"After all of this? I'd be honored to have you as a house guest... but uh, could I get your names?" Undyne asked.
"Yeah, I want to know your name and your friend's name, too," Alphys smiled at us. She'd already fixed up mine and Frisks' phones so we could get some texting, extra inventory space, a keychain, and signing us up to the Undernet and giving me and Frisk friend status with each other, her, and Undyne.
"I'm Malory..." I sighed before then retreating into the mind to have some more rest.
"I'm Carly," Chara lied for me.
"And I'm Frisk," Frisk smirked... but then, something else happened that woke me up a bit.
"U-Um... I'm Flower," said another voice from my mouth, me gasping at that as Undyne then looked at me in surprise.
"F-F... You?" Undyne asked in shock, me feeling the guilt in her heart after she heard her voice.
"Yes... it's me... I don't know why but... I suddenly woke up in this new body... but I kept quiet because... I didn't want you to kill me again..." Flower said with fear, Undyne responding by giving my body a gentle hug and Flower shivering as a couple tears came down her face.
"I felt nothing but shame since that day... I hated that I had to do that, but... I knew if I refused, then Asgore would've fired me as the captain..." Undyne sighed.
"How long... has it been?" she asked.
"It's been... 4 years," Undyne said with a sigh.
"And how long... for me?" asked another voice, me seeing it was Bete's voice!
"U-Um... Sans? When did you catch Bete's soul?" I asked, him sighing at me.
"it was the year 1940... nearly 82 years ago," Sans said with a sigh, me frowning as Bete sighed.
"So my mommy... she's gone... she must've missed me so much..." Bete said with a couple more tears as another voice took control and looked at Doge with a big glare.
"Well, if it isn't the dog that killed me. Good to know you're too old to hurt me now," Brutis said in defiance and annoyance, causing a small growl from Doge as I then finally felt the urge to take control to say my piece.
"Wait, wait, hold up, now! How come I'm getting all of you in my body now when your souls are still trapped at the throne room?" I asked in annoyance. And I got my response from the final of the four I'd gotten until now.
"It is because of you being in a weaker state and that we were absorbed into your essence when you acquired our strengths from the items we used to own... speaking of, I thank you wholeheartedly for rescuing my journal..." Qwerter said, his voice being the same as in the vision, Undyne frowning at him after. "And I told you already that I was sorry, but you kept telling me to shut up."
Undyne sighed as she then looked at me.
"It's getting a bit hard for me to resist the urge to throw you into the wall right now, you know? You ruined my eye and I'm forever crippled because of it! If I had both of them, I'd be an unstoppable warrior!" Undyne said in annoyance.
"Have you ever asked for assistance from healing magics? Something that I'm positive that miss Malware is able to do?" Qwerter asked as I then took control one more time.
"Not now, because I need a good rest. And that goes for ALL of us. We need sleep, got it?" I said.
"Fine," all of the kids in my head said at the same time.
"This is getting weirder and weirder," Frisk admitted as we proceeded to have Sans teleport us to Undyne's house and I saw that she placed me on a guest bed she had in her bedroom, me falling asleep instantly! But before I finally conked out, I heard one thing.
"i'll keep watch over any intrusions," Sans said. What a bro, defending me while I slept so Flowey wouldn't get a jab in at me!
