Chapter 16
"So would you like to hear it from the beginning?" I asked the group.
"Please," Undyne said with annoyance.
"Well, it all started with the big bang," I said, which actually made Chara snap at me.
"NO! Start with me and Asriel!" she pouted at me.
"Fine, fine, I thought a bit of humor could be needed," I said. It was a lie. I needed the levity the most, so I wanted to make a joke. "Ahem... well, back whenever Asriel and Chara were in the Underground, you may recall that Chara died unexpectedly. It was because she had the plan to have Asriel absorb her soul and go to the surface to get 6 more from the surface, then come back and free everyone peacefully," I said.
"Yeah, and then the humans killed Asriel, right?" Asgore asked, me shaking my head.
"No, that's not what happened at all," I said, him looking at me in confusion. "Chara told me what really happened. The two carried her body to the nearest town, which Chara came from. The town was shocked at Asriel, but didn't move an inch. Chara, however, wanted to get the souls from them. Not just the 6 for saving the monsters, but also killing the rest of the town for what they did to her family," I explained.
"Chara... is that true?" Asgore asked.
"Yes... I was angry at all of them..." she said with a couple tears in her face.
"Asriel, however, caught onto Chara's plan. He managed to overpower her control of the combined body and plunged a gardening knife into his stomach. He mortally wounded himself so that Chara wouldn't kill anyone. He then grabbed her body and managed to make it back here before turning to dust, their souls being lost shortly after, but their conscious minds still remaining somehow," I said.
"But then... how did Chara become her original self?" Doge asked.
"It only happened recently. Her consciousness could materialize anytime a human was in the Underground, but none of them could see or hear her until I arrived. And then, we told Toriel about it when I managed to get her consciousness in my head temporarily. And after I saved the test subjects from their sickness, Gaster managed to salvage both his and Chara's souls from the Void and gave her a new body to work with... only downside was that she lost all of her color," I said, Asgore smiling at that.
"I don't care, they're still alive, and that's what matters most," Asgore smirked.
"I HAVE A QUESTION, MALORY!" Papyrus said, me looking at him and nodding.
"Yes, Great Papyrus?" I smiled.
"HOW DID THE TINY ASGORE GET TURNED INTO FLOWEY?" he asked, me sighing at that.
"That's an explanation that someone else needs to give... right, Alphys?" I asked, her gasping, but then sighing and shivering.
"I... When you asked me to e-experiment with th-the souls, Asgore... I tested it on flowers, too... and when I used it on the first one that grew after the queen left... i-it went missing. I accidentally gave Asriel the will to live as Flowey... I d-didn't mean for all this mess to happen," Alphys said with a sigh, me looking at Asgore with a smile.
"Alphys," he said, her wincing like Asriel did. "I don't blame you for doing that. It was clearly an accident... I already heard about the test subjects from the family members calling me... they didn't mention the humans saving them, but I understand why you felt so distant and why you shut yourself away... it's like the day I made the mistake that cost me everything," Asgore said, me smiling at him.
"but here's the thing that you won't like, asgore," Sans said with seriousness. "asriel, in the form of a flower, had access to the determination that was injected into him. he had no soul, and therefore, no emotions. no ability to feel anything. and because of this, he felt empty. and he then tried to feel by any means necessary... including drastic measures..." Sans said.
"What do you mean, Sans?" Asgore asked.
"I... I'm sorry, dad... I... when I felt nothing... I hurt people... and killed them... I... I didn't want you to see what I'd become... to know that it was me that had done so much to hurt everyone... that's why I freaked out and almost killed everyone... I..." Asriel said, but then, Asgore simply hugged Asriel to his chest, me then deciding to join in on my own.
"It's been forever since you've had a hug, hasn't it, prince?" I asked, him sniffing and nodding at me. "You keep crying, it's gonna make me cry," I said as I felt some tears emerge from my eyes.
"Asriel, I don't blame you for that either. It must have been terrible to not feel anything at all..." Asgore said to him.
"See? You're among friends, Asriel," I said, him sniffing and nodding. "But here's the big thing that we won't like. He has 7 souls in him now. During our battle, the attack I used against Asriel that dealt 5 points of damage managed to also break the barrier, so we can leave at any point we want... but I want to give the souls within him and in this armor a second chance. Some of them will be given new bodies to work with by me trying to bring them back to life... while others will need a monster host," I explained.
"You're suggesting that we get human souls in our bodies? Isn't that the whole problem the humans attacked us? I learned that in school," Norm asked with concern.
"No, that's not why the humans attacked and went to war with humans. It was because they were suffering from a plague that killed off 2/3s of their population, but no monsters perished at all. So they attacked your kind because they feared an uprising of a world filled with monsters and no humans," I explained.
"How do you know that? I know you're an angel reincarnated, but how?" Undyne asked in annoyance.
"When I got the powers of the angel of prophecy, I also got the memories of everything that has ever happened in the world... it's still surreal to see everything all at once, but it told me that monsters and humans have been around since the start of the world... and at one point in history, that being the bubonic plague, monsters were outnumbering humans. And humans took advantage of the monsters' weaker souls and decided to cull their population because they didn't want to risk them asserting dominance," I explained.
"And what will they think of us when we go above the surface?" Toriel asked.
"I have the strength to shield every monster from the thorn attack of the century and shield everyone of you from Asriel's strongest attacks. If anything happens, you will not get killed at all," I said, them smirking at me after.
"So... what do we do, then?" Asgore asked.
"First, I gotta let everyone in the Underground know what's up and that we're going to be going to the surface today," I said.
"uh, it's night time," Sans said, me looking at him with a frown.
"Great, make a liar out of me why don't ya," I pouted.
"consider it payback for constantly avoiding my whoopee cushion jokes," Sans smirked at me, which caused Toriel to giggle a bit, but then she started to laugh out loud when I then made a raspberry to imitate it. "heh, good one. haven't heard her laugh like that since my first knock knock joke i told her," Sans smirked widely. I then proceeded to ontact everyone in the Underground, letting them know two things. One, the barrier was now destroyed and we could go to the surface right now. And two, the Royal Family had their children back. And tons of cheers happened throughout the mountain as I then went to Asriel and he sighed.
"I... I don't want to lose my form... but the souls need a second chance," Asriel said, me smiling at him.
"Well, Gretel has a plan for that. You'll give me all the souls in you minus Hansel's. He'll give you the power to stay in this current form, right, Hansel?" I asked, him responding from Asriel's head.
"I can do that, but are you sure he'll stay as a goat?" he asked.
"I sure hope so," I sighed. Asriel then gave me the souls of the 6 children, me then getting them in hand... I then placed their souls in my body again, minus Flower. I looked at the others with serious. "You may want to stand back, guys. I want to see if this is going to be a bit hard or not," I smiled, them doing so and getting to the walls of the room. I then proceeded to use the power of revival magic on Flower's soul... and it felt like I were in a Dragonball Z state of power as a bunch of aura emitted from my body as a bit of energy came from all the creatures of the mountain and in it, gathering all of their energy like I were making a spirit bomb, but all of it entering Flower's soul. I then, finally, managed to hit paydirt as Flower's body reformed in front of all of us, her looking around in confusion before then gulping and covering her body. Why? Just as when Chara became her own self, she was naked.
"Don't worry, I have some spare clothes here," I said as I then gave her some clothing that were in the form of one of Alphys's lab outfits that I warped from her lab to her body, Alphys smirking and blushing at the sight of a little girl wearing the same clothes she was.
"And can I have m-my ribbon back, please?" she asked, me nodding and giving her the ribbon again, her wearing it with a smile and looking at Asgore and Undyne with a smile.
"Kid, I... I don't know how to tell you how sorry I am," Undyne said with a frown, but Flower simply smiled back.
"I don't blame you, miss Undyne, or you, mister Asgore... I just want to see my mommy and daddy again," she smiled as I then sensed for their location... and found them at the bottom of the mountain in the town! And they actually had another kid that they called Buttercup, her being three years old.
"Not just that, Flower, but you have a little sister now," I said, her gawking at that.
"A little sister?... I can't wait to see her!' she squealed in delight as I then led us to the back of where the barrier was and had us go out and onto the mountain, where we looked out at the sight of the moon rising in the distance, it being much bigger than my own moon for sure.
"WOWIE! WHAT'S THAT BIG THING OUT THERE?" Papyrus asked when he saw it.
"That's the moon, Great Papyrus," Flower smiled at him.
"WOWIE! I GET TO BE FRIENDS WITH THE MOON! AND IS THAT... DO I FEEL WIND AGAINST MY BONES?! THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE!" Papyrus smiled widely.
"Just gotta hope the wind doesn't pick up. Wouldn't want those bones to rattle," I smiled, him then frowning and gaining the funniest annoyed face of all.
"I TAKE IT BACK! THIS IS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!" he shouted, leaving us to simply laugh at the exchange. I then sensed that the people in the Underground were all emerging from the castle and were starting to pile out one by one. There was Mettaton and Blooky, Shyren and her sister, all the monsters of the Ruins, Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland, and Muffet, Itsy, and their spider friends. And each one looked at Chara and Asriel in shock as I simply smiled at them, especially when they also saw the sight of me getting the rest of the humans in my body their own bodies or new owners. I ended up losing steam by the time I got to Avery. And it was then that I placed her soul in Undyne, the fishy warrior smirking at the feeling of the yellow soul merging with her body.
"WOWZERS! I feel like I could smash a mountain right now!" she smirked, her then slamming her fist into the ground, me then feeling the ground quake afterwards.
"Easy, Undyne. We're on top of a volcano right now, we don't need the town or our bodies to burn in lava," Alphys said, which restrained her from trying that again. I then went to the effort of getting the rest of the souls in the armor out of them and giving them to different monsters.
Noelle got Hansel and Gretel's mother while Berdley got their father.
Avery's parents were placed in the care of Alphys for the mother and Asgore for the father.
The parents for Bete Noir Parton were then placed in Shyren for the mother and Mettaton for the father, which surprised the robotic performer before Bete said that she'd prefer to travel with them in their new performance troupe, as she was made to perform.
Brutis's parents were put in the bodies of Aaron for the dad and Penny for the mother, which was a good thing, as the two were already a couple. But Brutis was now going to need to get used to having a parent he was allergic to.
"ACHOO! Ugh... Of all of us humans, why do I have to be allergic to Temmies?" he asked after blowing his nose into the grass.
"Better than being like me, and being allergic to even other Temmies," Penny smiled before then getting touched by one of the dumb ones, both then getting hives all over. "HOIVES!" they both shouted, me rolling my eyes and injecting both with an epipen, which got the hives settled after.
As for Qwerter's parents and brother, I placed his father in Dogamy, his mother in Dogaressa, and the brother in their puppy, him being named Dogarina, him being one of the dogs that composed Endogeny. And all three then started to scratch themselves with their ears before then doing something that made me smirk. They did the thing that only dogs could do and licked their parts through the clothes.
"Ew, stop it, guys, please?" Qwerter asked in annoyance.
"You're missing out, bro," Qwerter's brother smirked, him being called Macintosh. His mother was named Dot and his father Com. So, yeah, a lot of computer jokes of the family. And as for the final soul in there, it being King Charles, he decided to go inside of Asriel, just in case he would still be turning into a flower with one soul, a second soul might make him retain his goat form.
"It's time to go to the town now... I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of scared..." Flower said with concern, me smiling at her.
"So am I... and probably all of us. But we're going to go there and we're going to meet them in person. We need to bite the bullet now, or we're never going to get monsters the recognition that they deserve," I said, them all nodding at that.
"So... where do we go first in that town?" Asgore asked me. He'd already stated that I'd be the prime minister for monster kind, as I was the angel of prophecy that saved them all.
"First stop, the house that contains Flower's family. We need to give them the happiest family reunion since five hours ago," I smirked widely.
"Okay, let's go," Toriel smiled as she held her children's hands and walked down the mountain with us. I could still feel animosity of her towards Asgore, but it had went down big time when she saw his reactions to seeing and hearing the stories of what happened with Asriel and Chara. He realized how much of a fool he was and was willing to step down as king because of that.
We spent a good half hour of trekking downhill before then reaching the town, me seeing that they were in the middle of a Christmas fair of sorts, which made me realize that we were in the desert because of how I didn't feel too cold at the start of nightfall. But I did give some extra heat to the spider girls and their children in case they were cold, which they were.
"Thanks, deary," Itsy smiled at me as we then reached the house we wanted to, it being Flower's house. And it was also at this time that a whole amount of humans noticed our group and looked on in surprise.
"A-Are those monsters?" a good number of them asked, but then some kids looked at them and spoke.
"Wait... Sans?! Asgore?! UNDYNE?! Undertale is real?!" asked a slew of kids, me smiling at them and simply knocking on the door while shielding the allies in case anything happened. And then, the door was answered by a father, one that looked at our group in surprise.
"O-Oh... u-um... what's going on?" he asked, but Flower went to the front of the pack and right in his front gaze. "Oh my god... F-Flower?" he asked, Flower giving him a big hug against his legs, which made him shout in glee. "You're alive! Daisy! Buttercup! Come here!" he shouted, the duo then coming forward from the house as some more humans came closer to the monsters and I could see that they were looking at them in awe.
"I can't believe it! Monsters exist! And from Undertale no less!" said another kid, me smirking at how they went to the group of monsters and decided to poke Undyne, which she looked a bit weirded out by.
"What are they talking about? And would ya stop poking me?" Undyne asked in annoyance, me smirking at her.
"It's because, for some reason, when Gaster got the dream of my angel self, he accidentally shared it with a video game developer. So these guys played the game, but didn't think it was real," I explained to them in their minds, so that they understood. And that made them more willing to interact with the humans. Most of them, that is. Some like Moldbygg didn't like being touched, so I made his shield a bit bigger. And Alphys didn't like it either, so I gave her a shield that prevented her from being approached, lest the people get a small static shock.
"Why do they have shields?" one of the people asked as I saw that Flower had gotten a big hug with her family, where tears were DEFINITELY shed.
"Because of her," Sans said with his normal voice, which sounded much less demonic and less reserved. Almost like a normal person, as he now was outside of the restrictions of the barrier. And he was pointing at me.
"A human?... Whoa... not normal. I sense tons of strength from her... and she looks kind of different... look at her back," said an adult woman, her pointing out that one of my wings was on my back.
"Yes, I am not normal, miss Baker," I said, her gawking at that.
"H-How did you know my name?" she asked in shock.
"Because I have the memories of everything that has ever happened in this world... I also know that you're six months pregnant... with twins," I said, her gasping and blushing at that.
"How?" asked Flower's mother, me smiling at how she was looking at me and how I said that.
"Well, it's... complicated... I have a soul of intelligence from another universe and have gotten the powers of 7 souls' memories in me. And I'm also a reincarnation of an angel?... It's weird, but it has both benefits and downsides," I admitted.
"What kind of downsides does that include?" asked a voice in the crowd that I frowned at. It was the owner of the bad orphanage that wanted to take Frisk away. And he had a nasty dog on his side, me looking at him with seriousness.
"It allows me to see all the bad things that happen in the world. Such as what you do to all those orphaned kids, mister Dario," I frowned, him looking at me with a smirk and laughing, most likely hoping to call my bluff. But I simply gave his memories of him torturing the kids and feeding the escapees to his guard dogs to the others in the crowd, which gawked and looked at him in anger.
"You're rich! I'd never be caught... doing... that..." he said when he realized he had the crowd surround him as well as a couple officers go to him with pepper spray and handcuffs in hand.
"She showed us plenty enough," the officer said. "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way."
"Um... I got to be going now, toodles!" he said before then getting a knife on his hand, but then, I simply used my soul strengths to make him heavy and force him to the ground, him then getting the cuffs placed on him and his weapons removed.
"You should be a crime fighter yourself, miss! We've been hoping to catch this guy for ages, but could never get a good lead," the female of the cop duo said, me smiling at her.
"I heard of his exploits from miss Frisk here. Her orphanage shut down and she was going to go to this creep's orphanage, which she'd heard horror stories about. And just seeing his memories, all the fears were proven true... and he even has video tapes of him doing... that stuff... to kids," I said, him gulping and getting very scared, tons of sweat pouring down his face as I spoke.
"Really? Well then, we'll need to have a search warrant for your house, sir," the cop said.
"Fuck you," he growled at me.
"You say that, but you did that to children, so I'm not your type," I frowned, him then getting sent away in a cop car and for the monsters to look at me with a smile.
"With you around, I might have a challenge in getting bad guys their comeuppance compared to you," Undyne smirked at me.
"So, you want to join the force, Undyne? I'll do the same thing, but also still act as the prime minister for monsters," I smirked.
"AND I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL BE THE BEST MASCOT!" Papyrus smirked widely, causing the children in the crowd to cheer happily at him, which made him smirk with tons of blush all over. "AAAHHH... I HAVE ADORING FANS! FINALLY! I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID EARLIER! THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE!" Papyrus smiled widely.
"I think they broke him," Norm smirked, causing his sisters to giggle, both monster and human. It was time to show the world what the monsters were like and that we were not only alive, but we were going to thrive.
