He slashed a candle on the wall with a flick of his wand.
"What do you think?", he asked.
"Impressive.", Snape nodded. "You copied my spell simply by observing it."
"Do not be so impressed.", Voldemort replied. "I can do so much more. And I can teach you, BUT…. You need to become a part of my inner circle."
"This is a great honor, my Lord.", Lucius was visibly happy.
"I will do anything.", Snape nervously nodded.
"Is that…. So?", Voldemort asked. "To truly become one of us, you must kill one member of the Order of the Phoenix."
Snape stood in silence for a moment.
"I believe it was you that told me….", Severus Snape said. "I should not use deadly spells in Hogwarts."
"Yet.", Voldemort replied. "But… that time has come."
"Can I choose who I get to kill?", Snape asked.
"I will leave it up to you.", Voldemort said. "After the deed is done, come to me. I shall be waiting."
Lily sat behind her desk, in her living room, feeling bored and anxious.
"I can't keep doing this…", she thought to herself as she put her right elbow on the desk. She begun rubbing her left thigh over and under her skirt slowly with her left hand.

"I guess.", Sirius responded. "He is the best wizard among us here. Old Dumby must think highly of James."

"Woah, what is this?", both Peter and Sirius got up.

"Fine.", Lily lowered her wand and the light vanished while both Peter and Sirius fell.
"Whatever was happening between us, it stops today.", Lily said while they were getting up.

"Have you ever done it?", Snape asked Lucius as they were walking through a garden.
"Not yet.", Lucius replied. "But I would not hesitate to eliminate our enemies."
"They are not our enemies yet.", Snape said. "The war has not started."
"My dear friend.", Lucius put his hand on Snape's shoulder. "It is starting, the Dark Lord would not have ordered you such if it wasn't the case already."
"Well, well, well.", Sirius Black appeared in front of them. "If it isn't Snivellus and his girlfriend Lucy."
"A fly searching for a spider.", Lucius smiled towards Snape. "How amusing. It seems you will fulfill your promise to lord Voldemort sooner than expected."
"What promise?", Sirius asked. "Wait, Voldemort is not here, is he?"
"He is not.", Snape responded. "However, you have sought me out at a most unfortunate time for yourself."
"Speak English, nerd.", Sirius responded. "What do you mean, exactly?"
"I will leave you to it.", Lucius said and walked past Sirius Black.
"Nice friend you have there.", Sirius said as he watched Lucius walk away.
"Indeed.", Snape responded. "Where is yours?"
"He's busy. It's just the two of us this time."
Snape was thinking of all the ways he could kill Sirius right now. If he used the killing curse, it would surely signal to Voldemort that he was serious about serving him. But doing so might fragment his soul, which would result in loss of some of his magical powers. However, he could use his soul fragments in the future to create even more dark magic and forbidden spells which could ultimately make him more powerful. If he used sectumsempra, his soul might be left in one piece but perhaps not. At the end of it all, he stared at Sirius and realized something about himself. He didn't want to do it. But he felt like he had to, disappointing Voldemort was a death sentence.
"I am sorry.", Severus apologized.
"You are sorry?", Sirius asked. "You are trying to get out of this fight, aren't you, Snivellus?"
"No. I am sorry for what I am about to do. But…. Lets start slowly…. Because this will be your last fight."
"You don't scare me, Snivellus.", Sirius said and swooshed his wand around his head. He fired a small fire blast towards Snape.
Snape quickly deflects it with his wand.
"That is good, start with the small spells first. Make it last.", Snape said and fired a small ball of fire towards Black. It was floating very slowly.
"What the hell is this?", Black laughed a bit. But soon the ball started growing larger and larger as it was approaching him. "Oh, no!"
He jumped away at the last moment as it exploded and the tree behind him was completely burned.
"Is this what you call starting out small?!", Black shouted. "You could have killed me!"
"Well, I thought that was the idea here.", Snape responded and fired a small fire blast towards Black which Black deflected.
"No, you sick bastard!", Black yelled. "We are having a bit of friendly banter here!"
"You fool!", Snape yelled. "Don't you know I'm serving the Dark Lord?"
They both fired a bolt of fire at each other at the same time, and it collided creating a big burst of flames in front of them.
Lily was tapping her foot on the floor when she heard the door open. It was James.
"Oh, honey!", she ran to him and hugged him.
"Hey!", James smiled. "You're acting like you haven't seen me in a 100 years."
"It felt like it. So…. What did Dumbledore and you discuss?", Lily asked.
"Oh, the usual.", James laid back into the couch. "You know, about Voldemort's plans, what we must do to stop him. You know."
"I don't know.", Lily shook her head half smiling. Then she sat next to James and put her hand on his leg. "But… that is not important. I want from now on, for it to be just the two of us, always."
"What are you talking about?"
"I mean, we need to spend more time together.", Lily said. "And if Dumbledore calls you, I want to be present too. I mean, we should all go."
"Right…", James leaned his head back into the couch.

At that moment Lupin ran into the room.
"Guys…. Sirius is fighting Snape!", he signaled to them to follow him and James and Lily quickly got up and ran after him.
Entire school gathered on the walls of Hogwarts to watch the fight between Sirius Black and Severus Snape. Lupin, James and Lily ran to the entrance of the backyard where Snape was whipping their friend with an invisible whip, using just his wand.

"I didn't want to do this!", Severus Snape yelled.

Snape stopped for a moment.
"You'll have to fight all of us!", James said while him and Lupin stepped forward too.

"What are you talking about, Severus?", Lily asked with fear in her voice.
"You step back, Lily.", Snape said. "Let me teach that bastard a lesson."
"Expeliarmus!", James yelled and a blast of energy flew towards Snape.
Snape casually deflected it while laughing.
"I have something for you.", Snape said while taking out a black potion from under his robe. He threw it at James and it exploded into black sludge that was crawling all over James, immobilizing him.
"What… what is this?!", James yelled, as black slime was crawling from his legs towards his face.
"You should have paid more attention at the potions class.", Snape commented with half a smile. "Instead of being all over Lily…"
He slowly walked towards them.
"Not that it would do you any good.", Snape said. "I invented this."
Lupin fired a lightning blast at Severus who extended his wand and the lightning begun swirling around his wand and then around him.
Snape then fired the lightning into the air.
"And what about you, Mr. Werewolf?", Snape asked. "Are you going to do something?"
He then raised his wand and Lupin begun levitating. Severus Snape threw him towards James and they both got stuck in the black sludge.
"That is enough!", Lily yelled. "Snape…. You moron!"
She swooshed her wand around her head and time seemed to slow down, a green light was emanating around her and her red hair begun floating around her shoulders. She pointed her wand at the black sludge and it separated from James and Lupin, freeing them. Then she pointed towards Snape and the black sludge flew at him.
"Oh no!", Snape yelled and threw himself to the ground, the sludge flying over him. He took out a white potion but Lily swished her wand again and the black sludge hit him, enveloping him.
"Thanks, Lily.", James said picking up his wand and adjusting his glasses.
"Now.", James said as Lupin, Lily and himself walked towards trapped Snape. "Should we take your pants off again, Snivellus? Or something worse considering what you did to our friend?"
"How about….", Snape laughed as he dropped his potion onto the black sludge. "Something worse?"
White potion hit the sludge and it exploded. The sludge disintegrated into white steam which blinded all of them and they covered their eyes as they experienced a burning sensation upon the contact with the white mist.
"Where are you? Coward?", James yelled as the steam cleared.
"Behind you.", Snape said appearing behind James. "Expeliarmus."
A huge blast hit James' back and he flew and fell next to Sirius.
"Ahhhh!", James yelled, holding his back.
"Crazy fight, ay friend?", Sirius laughed next to him, all beaten up.
"Lily, Lily, Lily.", Snape said shaking his head at her. "Your choice in men, is less than exemplary."
"Funny YOU should say that.", Lily gritted her teeth.
"What's it going to be?", Lupin asked. "Are you going to go crazy and kill all of us? That's not the Snape I knew."
"You hardly knew me, fool.", Snape said. "And I admit, you were not among the worst to bully me. You just watched. So you can watch me now."
"Enough of this child's game.", Voldemort appeared next to Severus Snape. "Stop playing with them, Severus."
"Voldemort!", Lupin yelled out in fear while Lily gasped for air.
All of the students observing the fight had begun screaming loudly in panic.
Voldemort swished his wand around in a circle and a green mist paralyzed everyone but him and Severus Snape, silencing everyone.
"Kill one of them now!",Voldemort said. "Do it, Severus! Prove your loyalty!"
Snape looked at his master and then back at Lily who could only move her eyes and was blinking at him. He quickly turned his head away from her and towards Sirius and James. He slowly walked towards them.
"I choose him.", Snape pointed at James.
Voldemort slightly nodded while Snape pointed his wand at James who was on the ground. For a moment Snape stared at James' teary eyes.
"I…. I can't do it…", Snape whispered.
Voldemort walked next to him and stared at him with a look of disgust. He took out his wand and pointed it at James.
"It is so easy, Severus.", Voldemort said. "Observe."
"Voldemort!", a thunderous roar was heard as Dumbledore landed in front of them.
"It is time for you to pick on someone your own size.", Dumbledore said.
"Oh, and is that supposed to be you, old man?", Voldemort smiled. "I surpassed you a long time ago."
"Prove it.", Dumbledore took out his wand and pointed it at Voldemort.
"Not today.", Voldemort said and turned to Snape. "You have failed me, Severus."
He disappeared, turning into green mist and when he vanished the green mist went away with him. Soon everyone could move again, and people were yelling and talking all at the same time. Some of them clapping and cheering Dumbledore's name.
"That was brave, what do you did.", James stood up, extending his hand towards Snape.
"I am not shaking your hand.", Severus said.
James grabbed his hand and shook it.
"But I am shaking yours.", he said. "Headmaster, I want it to be known that he refused Voldemort's order to kill me."
"Perhaps. But serving Voldemort in the first place, that is a crime I can no longer tolerate.", Dumbledore said. "Severus Snape, you are to be under room confinement. Go to your Slytherin quarters immediately, until further notice."
"Yes…. Headmaster.", Snape said and walked away.
"That Severus Snape….", Sirius Black said as he got up. "He is one crazy son of a bitch."
"Twenty points from Gryffindor.", Dumbledore said. "For starting a fight and swearing."
"Ah, you love it, Albus!", Sirius said.
"Twenty more points from Gryffindor.", Dumbledore said.
"Will you shut up, Sirius?", Lily came next to James and him. Lupin shortly joined them.
"Come on guys, lets go celebrate this with a drink.", James said.
"Celebrate what exactly?", Lily asked. "The fact we almost got killed?"
"The fact we survived.", James responded and started laughing.
They all laughed a bit and headed out for a pub, leaving Dumbledore standing.
"I gave no permission.", Dumbledore whispered to himself. "No permission at all. Ah, those crazy kids will be the death of me."
Lily and James returned to their room after a night of drinking, kissing at the doorway and throwing themselves onto the bed.
