Little Red

Hope yall enjoy this re-work of an old story, the ship for this will be CinderXRuby. And this is a RWYB AU mixed with a little red riding hood, though mostly RWBY.

Long ago before man ruled the world there were two supreme beings, One of Light and Creation, and one of Darkness and Destruction. The two brothers ruled over man with each brother creating balance in the world. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. The brother of light was betrayed and killed by a human. The human wanted the power of the brothers for herself, but in her quest for their power she made a grave mistake.

She tried to take the last brother's power but in her attempt she unleashed Darkness on the world. She got what she had wanted, but the brother of Darkness placed a curse on her, that she would live forever but could only create beings of darkness. When she used her powers she created a creature of unimaginable evil. It was as tall as a two story house, had claws that were six inches long, teeth as sharp as knives, and eyes that glowed red with pure hatred. Surprised, the girl ran, and every time she used her powers from then on she created more creatures of different sizes, which the people began to call the Creatures of Dust, for that was all they left. After many years the world had been overrun with the creatures and the girl had long since faded away, with all the creatures she created none were as big or mean as the original one, which the people named the Dark Wolf. As the world fell deeper and deeper into darkness, there was a spark of hope left, for the Brother of Darkness had realized what the girl had planned, though while it was too late to save himself, he put a plan in place for the future to stop her. He sent a speck of his power into a woman, and while the woman wouldn't be able to use the power her child would.

After 15 years the woman gave birth to a girl, who she named Rose. Rose grew up with a relatively peaceful life far away from the Creatures of Dust. As she grew her powers began to take form, and like her name she could turn herself into a torrent of roses, which allowed her to move faster than sound. One day her mother called her into the house. She wanted Rose to run something to her grandmother's house, for her grandmother was feeling ill and needed some medicine. Rose agreed and began her long journey, Rose left her mothers house giddy of her adventure, as she had never really traveled such a long distance alone. It wasn't long before she came across a small town. As she entered the town she noticed that the buildings were badly damaged. Moss was growing on the walls, weeds over-ran the streets, but what she noticed more than anything was the smell. It had a strong Irony smell. Her nose stung from the strength of the smell. Though she began walking through the town she started hearing something. Curious she followed the sound, The sounds got louder as she approached. She came up to a corner and realized the sound was coming from around the corner, as she peeked slowly around the corner the sight in which she saw horrified her. The creature was chewing on what looked to be the lower half of one of the townsfolk. Rose had heard the stories of the Creatures but never thought this is what they were. A large hunking mass of black fur that looked to suck in the light around itself, claws bigger than most peoples arms. She didn't take long to look at the sight as she knew she needed to run.

Rose begins to back away. As she was stepping back from the corner she bumped into something. Slowly turned around and felt herself go cold. The beast was 8 foot tall, its black fur soaked in blood. It looked down at her with eyes so red she would swear they were glowing. Without thinking she screamed and vanished in a stream of roses, she kept running until she couldn't anymore. She crashed painfully against a tree, she felt the bone in her right arm snap causing her to let out a massive scream. She didn't have to worry about it long though as pain overwhelmed her and she passed out.

The original creature was there eating what was left of the town's people, as he was eating he heard a loud scream, along with a stream of rose petals. He turned around and saw the other creature which looked to be a large bear. The creature looked down and saw the rose petals left a trail. It started to track the roses, He slowly followed them, tracking the source. He tracked the roses outside the town to a large tree. He found a small girl in a red cloak passed out under the tree, with what looked to be a broken limb. He slowly approached her, thinking he was gonna get a free meal. As he approached he noticed she was giving off a strange smell, a smell like his master, a smell of power. He begin to think this girl had some kind of connection to his master, unsure of what to do. The last time he smelled something like this was when his master made him, in which she had ran off afterward.

Rose began to regain consciousness, as her vision cleared the pain in her arm began to return. She let out a small whimper till she noticed a large figure looming over her. As her eyes traced the creature she noticed it was the same one that had been eating the townsfolk. She started crawling back, but being against the tree she had nowhere to go. Looking it in the eyes not knowing if it can understand her, but she had to try and ask. why it was here and why it hadn't killed her yet.

The creature looked down at her, he gave a low growl that shook the trees. The creature had always been able to understand humans but chose to ignore them. Although he couldn't directly speak the human language, he could talk telepathically. So he spoke in her mind. "Little one smells familiar"

Rose was sitting there just looking up at the beast when its voice came into her head. Looking back at the creature unsure what he meant by smelling familiar, she asked "Familiar how?". The Creature looked her over and replied " You smell like Mother, she made us".

Rose, unsure of what the creature means, but nonetheless she responded. "My name is Rose, and I don't know why I smell like your mother". After she finished she heard the voice saying that she smells of power. The same kinda power that his mother used to make him, and his brothers. The tone of his thought changed as he explained that his mother abandoned him and his brothers when she made them.

Rose noted the sadness in the beast tone, it made her wonder if the creatures were evil by their own choice or if they were made to be. Rose looked at the creature and asked the most terrifying question she has ever asked, "why do you kill us?"

The creature looked at the girl confused, and then asked her, What do you mean? We kill to survive. When our mother made us, she made it where we could never turn on her, by cursing us with the need to consume anything that was not made by her. If we don't then we fade into nothing. We kill because if we don't, we die. Rose looked up at the creature, shocked that they understand what they are doing, but that they don't have a choice.

Rose, unsure of what happens now, asks the creature. "So what now? You kill me? Let me go?". The creature looks down at the girl, unsure himself but for a strange reason he feels the need to keep her safe. He thinks it might be due to her scent but there is something else there. "Well Rose I think I'll keep you company on whatever journey you are on, my brothers are not old enuff to remember mothers scent and would kill you if you go on alone"

{for those that read this when I first posted it, I always meant to continue it but life got in the way, as I don't remember what my original story was gonna be I have decided to re-write the first chapter and finish this story, I plan on post 1-2 chapters a month if not more, I hope y'all enjoy}
