beginning AN: if the Sonic Frontiers Arc ends up being short on dialogue it's because the source material is a recent game at the time this story is made and it would be rude of me to spoil it to anyone who hasn't played it for themselves yet.
Chapter 3: Sonic Frontiers Arc Chapter 2: Ares Island
Sonic has arrived to Ares Island and is shot out of the sky while the Chaos Emeralds scatter across the island making Sonic have to find them again and he starts exploring the island and fights more guardians and finding new memory tokens which this time look like bronze medals with an orange glow around them he then finds more Cyberspace portals and one by one he clears them in record time but he notices a theme going on like in one portal he's sent to Green Hill Zone, in another he's sent to Sky Santuary, in another he's sent to Chemical Plant and in another he's sent to Radical Highway and the layout isn't the same thing twice but each one is a reference to an adventure he's already done as if he's covering familiar ground.
while exploring he locates and collects four Chaos Emeralds and finds out Knuckles has somehow been brought to the Starfall Islands as well and he frees him with all of the memory tokens he's collected while exploring the island they notice the island is built as if it's a military camp or something and the koco they find help them locate two more Chaos Emeralds and to reach the next Titan who's called Wyvern and is shaped like a dragon they play a crane game that involves matching color coded metal balls with pedestals that match each one. before they found the crane game Knuckles laments at the fact that he's reminded that he's the last Echidna but Sonic Reminds him that he's still got his friends and after the crane game is cleared Sonic runs off to fight the Titan and like Giaganto he has the final Emerald on its head and it requires some platforming to reach it which Sonic does and grabs the final emerald and turns into Super Sonic for the second time in the same adventure

Super Sonic and Wyvern fight a long and arduous battle with Sonic dodging missiles and lasers and even parrying Wyverns body and then when Super Sonic finds an opening he lays down the smackdown and defeats Wyvern and flies off to the third island.
meanwhile
Sage has continued observing Sonic and is beginning to understand emotions and has been growing increasingly protective of Dr. Eggman but not as maker and servant but as father and daughter which he feels the same way and without warning Sage's magic that stayed with her senses this and makes it to where Dr. Eggman has blood adopted Sage making him Dr. Ivo Robotnik-Potter and her Sage Potter-Robotnik but they won't find this out until after the adventure ends.
ending AN: the main reason Sage hasn't interacted with Sonic and his friends yet is because those interactions are core parts of the story of the game itself although I'll make a small exception in the next chapter when she observes Sonic and Tails
Next time: Sonic arrives to Chaos Island and has to collect the Chaos Emeralds for the third time and frees Tails, Sage observes them and Sonic fights the third Titan after geeting the last emerald again.
