beginning AN: I've thought it over and I've decided to turn the interlude after the Sonic Frontiers Arc into one shared by the Epilogue of the game and the scenes before canon Harry boarded the Hogwarts Express. don't expect me to bash or favor Ronald Weasley his canon counterpart comes off as a jealous fool who wants things he can't have and can't see what he's already got in front of him and he's too slow to apologize for not being on canon Harry's side when he needed him most but I will give him the point that he was loyal and could be counted on when the chips were down but he won't be a trio member in this story you'll find out who is the third member when Year 2 begins.

The AI Who Lived Chapter 8: Sonic Frontiers Epilogue and Harry Potter Year 1 Prologue

Dr. Eggman is typing away in a hidden base and like in the game he's acting like he's a man on a mission and what's the mission you may ask? why reviving Sage of course but doing so is no easy task but he's not trying just anything to pull it off. he's hacking into Cyberspace which acts like a central hub created by the Ancients to keep their knowledge, and their history alive so they wouldn't be truly forgotten and within Cyberspace is an imprint left by Sage due to the time she spent in there with Dr. Eggman and after a few more keys typed down he hits enter and he hears Sage say "Father" and he says "That's my girl." (which is where the epilogue in the game ends so from this point on anything is creative license on my end until Sega officially mentions how she's revived in full so I hope you like it)
Dr. Eggman continues hacking into Cyberspace and with a lot of patience and time and effort he succeeds in reviving Sage to the point where she has her body back. but it's permanently stuck as her Cyan and white with Emerald Green eyes look since while stuck in Cyberspace she decided to fully embrace her emotions with the positive outweighing the negative.
She then greets "Hello Father how long have I been gone?" Dr. Eggman responds "It's only been five days since you sacrificed yourself fighting the big fight but never leave me again I don't know how I'll be able to go on without you."
Sage then says "You likely would have gone power hungry trying to get the better of Sonic only to fail like you did before you met me." "and let's face it while you'd never admit it to his face deep down you consider Sonic a friend of yours."
Dr. Eggman says "while I'm a bit mad you even think like that but you're right I do consider Sonic as a friend." "since whenever I got in over my head like trying to control Chaos, Neo Metal and even Dark Gaia he's been there to bail me out of trouble."

and there were many more bonding moments over six months and so Sage's eleventh birthday arrived and Dr. Eggman decided to throw a party for the occasion. sending invites to everyone he's had contact with and so Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Cream, Vanilla, Big, Blaze, Silver, Tikal & Chaos(I would dare to think they would need a vacation from being inside the Master Emerald every once in a long while), Jet, Wave, Storm and Sticks are invited and it has them wondering what's going on and when they arrive they see party supplies everywhere and Dr. Eggman greets them "Welcome Sonic and friends." Sonic acts as the voice for all of them "Yo Eggman what's going on here? you throwing some kind of party?" Dr. Eggman responds with "yes it is a party and a birthday party at that." and Sonic asks "Who's the party for?" Dr. Eggman responds with "you Remember Sage don't you Sonic?" Sonic widens his eyes and says "yes I remember but I thought she died with no way to come back." and Dr. Eggman says "while you and your friends were having fun for once I was hacking into Cyberspace." Sonic says "Cyberspace? oh yeah I remember now the glorfied memory hard drive of the Ancients but how would that bring Sage back?" and Dr. Eggman responds with "yes that Cyberspace."
Dr. Eggman then says "it took five days but she's now back to being alive with a body of her own." it's then as he said that when Sage entered the room and says "Hello Sonic who's your friends?" Amy greets with "Hello I'm Amy Rose nice to meet you."
Tails follows and says "Hi I'm Miles Prower but everyone calls me Tails."
Knuckles then introduces himself with "hello I'm Knuckles The Echidna"

Tikal goes next and says "hi there I'm Tikal the Echidna and you could say I'm Knuckles Ancestor."
Chaos then says through telepathy "I'm Chaos and it's good to meet you."
Shadow goes next and says "I'm Shadow, Shadow The Hedgehog."
Rouge then says "Hi there kiddo I'm Rouge The Bat."
Omega goes next and says "hello little sister I'm E-123 Omega."
Cream then says "hello my name is Cream the Rabbit and this is my Chao friend Cheese." with the little guy saying "hello the only way he can"
Vanilla then says "and I'm her mother Vanilla The Rabbit nice to meet you."
Big then says "I'm Big The Cat it's nice to meet you."
Blaze goes next and says "hello there I'm Blaze The Cat it's nice to meet you."
Silver goes next and says "hello I'm Silver The Hedgehog it's good to meet you."
Jet then says "Yo kiddo I'm Jet The Hawk."
Wave then says "Hi there I'm Wave the Swallow."
and then Storm says "Hello I'm Storm The Albatross."
the just mentioned three then say "and together we are, The Babylon Rogues."(call me a millennial but I picture them doing that Bill & Ted style)
and finally Sticks says "hello there kid I'm Sticks the Squirrel."
Dr. Eggman then says "now that everyone's been introduced let's get this party started and while eating cake and having Karaoke contests Sage is given presents from each of the guests from Sonic is a pair of mary janes outfitted to be like his sneakers in every way.
from Amy is a kid sized Piko Piko Hammer and an instruction manual on how to use it.
from Tails is a radar that can track the chaos emeralds whenever she's near one.
Knuckles gives sunglasses that have the ability to see things that can't been seen with your eyes alone.
Tikal and Chaos share a Present and it's a Hero Chao who Sage calls Athena and it accepts the name and by doing so decides to be a female Chao.
Shadow then gives four gold rings which are carbon copies of his inhibitor rings which would help her get stronger.
Omega gives her a Shadow plushie.
Rouge gives her a hand mirror.
Cream gives her a flower crown.
Vanilla's present is an outfit similar to Cream's outfit and the offer to be her mother figure which both are accepted.
Big gives her a kid's sized fishing pole.
Blaze gives her an outfit similar to her own.
Silver gives her gloves similar to his own.
Jet gives her a pair of Extreme Gear goggles.
Wave gives her a racing outfit similar to her own.
Storm gives her an Extreme Gear with an instruction manual on how to use it.
and Sticks gives her a Ray the Flying Squirrel plushie and finally Dr. Eggman gives her Orbot and Cubot as her own minions and with that the party ended and everyone went their separate ways. and both Sage and Dr. Eggman clean things up but before they go get ready for bed an Owl with a letter shows up and Dr. Eggman opens it and reads "dear Ms. Robotnik-Potter you've been accepted as a student to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry we await your Owl no later than July 31st school term begins September 1st."
Dr. Eggman asks "Sage do you want to go?" Sage responds "Yes I'll go to Hogwarts." Dr. Eggman then replies with a request for a guide to help them to get their supplies. and the owl leaves to go back to Hogwarts.

meanwhile in Scotland at Hogwarts

Albus Dumbledore, and his staff which includes Sirius Black as the permanent Defense against the dark arts professor.
how did Sirius become a professor you ask? well after being questioned about his unlikely but possible betrayal of the Potters his faith in the justice system was shaken to the point of no return and he resigned and he sought out Albus and Minerva for a job and they appointed him as DADA professor and when he started settling in he felt something off about it and told Albus and Minerva about it and he decided that no curse is going to get the best of him so for nine years he was the DADA professor and now in the tenth year the curse has tried every possible way to make him leave but it failed every single time and so it broke and now the position is no longer cursed.

everyone is currently waiting on the acceptance letter to return and while they wait they small talk about the current situation and Sirius asks Albus "why do you think the letter was addressed to a Sage Robotnik-Potter Albus?"
Albus replies "I have no idea but we'll find out soon enough."
as he says that the owl returns with the letter showing an acceptance to attend and a request for a guide.
Albus then looks to Fawks his Phoenix familiar and asks "can you take us there old friend?" and Fawks nods in affirmative which has everyone grab on to Albus and each other and they disappear from Hogwarts

meanwhile in the Bermuda Triangle at Dr. Eggman's base Sage and Dr. Eggman are almost ready to go to bed when the Hogwarts staff shows up and Dr. Eggman says "What the Hell? Who are you?" Albus says "I'm Albus Dumbledore headmaster of Hogwarts."
Minerva then says "I'm Minerva McGonnagal the Deputy Headmistress, head of Gryffindor house and Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts."
Severus goes next and says "I'm Severus Snape and I'm the Potions teacher and Slytherin head of house at Hogwarts."
Poppy goes next and says "I'm Poppy Pomfrey and I'm the Healer at Hogwarts."
Pomona goes next and says "I'm Pomona Sprout and I'm the Herbology Professor and the Hufflepuff head of house at Hogwarts."
Argus goes next and says "I'm Argus Filch and I'm the janitor of Hogwarts."
Filius then says "I'm Filius Flitwick and I'm the charms teacher and head of house of Ravenclaw at Hogwarts.
and the rest do their introductions and they move on to the next topic Sirius asks "What happened to make Sage into what she appears to be?" and Dr. Eggman responds with "do you really want to know? you may end up regretting it."
and they all say "yes we want to know." and he leads them to one of his computer monitors and types in access codes for the history of Sage and before hitting enter/pressing play he says "here it is don't blame me if you lose your lunch." and he starts the recording which starts with that halloween night and they all are shocked that even at the end Lily and James got the last laugh while Severus and Sirius weep for their best friends and openly swear on their lives and magic that they'll do everything they can to protect Sage.
then the recording shows the aftermath on where Sage went after disappearing and they are grateful to Dr. Eggman for keeping her alive in some way. then the recording shows the events of Sonic Frontiers and while Severus and Sirius are a little upset that Sage ended up sacrificing herself they are greateful that Dr. Eggman revived her and the recording ends with the party they just missed and all of them are glad that Sage has a group of friends to rely on.
seeing that the hour was late everyone but Sirius goes back to Hogwarts since he chose to be the guide for shopping supplies. and Dr. Eggman, Sage and Sirius go to bed with Athena the Chao snuggling up to her. and in the morning they wake up get dressed with Sage wearing the outfit Blaze gave her, Shadow's gifted inhibitor rings, Silver's gifted gloves and Sonic's gifted shoes.
Dr. Eggman calls on Shadow and asks him to teleport them to London, England and he does so and leaves after bringing them to the Leaky Cauldron. Sirius takes them in and when the wall opens up he says "Welcome to Diagon Alley."
and what follows is your typical fanfare that's been done too many times between the actual books, the movies and fanfiction stories.
so let's assume Sage gets everything canon Harry did even Hedwig The Snowy Owl is made into Sage's familiar due to the pull they have for each other.
after they were done shopping Dr. Eggman says "Sirius I noticed you have a dead man as your history teacher would anyone mind if I took over?" and Sirius says "it's not my call but your chances are high in being given the job since it's long overdue for a replacement.
Shadow then appears before them and they return to Dr. Eggman's Base while Sirius Apparates back to Hogwarts after refusing to go back with them and giving them instructions on how to reach the Hogwarts Express and to board it before 11am on September 1st when Sirius returns to Hogwarts he tells the staff "everything went well but at the end of the day Dr. Eggman asked if he could be the history of magic teacher since we have a dead man as the teacher."
Albus says "These Chaos Emeralds are new to us and the group of friends young Sage has made some interesting abilities perhaps he could shed some light on it." Minerva says " I agree with the appointment." and everyone else does as well with the History teacher who says "finally I've waited a long time for this see you around." and he leaves.
after another restful night Dr. Eggman and Sage Wake up get dressed and Shadow appears and teleports them to Charring Cross Train Station in London, England where Sirius is waiting for them and he says "Dr. Eggman you've been accepted as History of Magic professor at Hogwarts enjoy the ride." then he leaves but not before showing them where the Hogwarts express is and he returns to Hogwarts ahead of them after they board and watches the train depart.

ending AN: before anyone gets on my case about not detailing the shopping trip to Diagon Alley or leaving it on a cliff hanger then don't bother as one is explained in this chapter and the other is because the train ride will be mentioned in the next one.

Next Time: the Train ride goes differently than canon and the opening feast and sorting of Year 1 is mentioned.
