beginning AN: at the time I'm typing this down I'm actually running on empty in energy so no attempt at a long chapter this time. it'll likely be the train ride and the opening feast which makes Dr. Eggman the History of Magic professor and Sage gets sorted alongside Hermione since I'll have them become friends on the train.
The AI Who Lived Chapter 8: Year 1: Part 1 the train ride to and sorting at Hogwarts
Dr. Eggman, Sage and her Hero Chao friend Athena enter an empty room of the train and get settled in.
not long after they do a redhead called Ronald Weasley barges in and asks if Sage has a lightning bolt scar on her forehead which she says "no I don't and I never have now leave."
Ron tries to act as if he bleonged at her side but Dr. Eggman decided enough was enough and thought to himself 'the lack of manners this brat has me as much as I'd loathe the idea think Sonic or Shadow would be better husband material for Sage later on in her life' and with that thought he says "She said leave now get lost brat." whether it's because his untapped self-preservation skills detected a threat he didn't want to cross or out of sheer fright he left the room to be far away from them. then another brat called Draco Malfoy and his minions Crabb and Goyle made an appears and the same song and dance as with Ronald happend and he ran off but with less dignity since his number one threat is basically him running off crying to daddy that the world is being mean to him but the way he puts is this "Just you wait until my father hears about this." after a while somebody more polite shows up and it's Hermione Granger and she's leading a boy by the hand and his name is Neville Longbottom. Hermione asks "Have you seen a Toad a boy named Neville has lost one?"
Dr. Eggman and Sage reply with "nope haven't seen one try asking an older student maybe there's a summoning charm." Hermione then tells Neville to do just that and he leaves while Hermione asks "can I join you?" Dr. Eggman and Sage say yes you can." and "you're the first one we've met that was kind enough to ask." Hermione notices who they are and says "I know you two you're Sage and Dr. Eggman."
Dr. Eggman asks "where would you have heard about us?" Hermione says "just last year a video game called Sonic Frontiers released and it involved You two, Sonic, Knuckles, Tails and Amy exploring the Starfall Islands and finding out the Chaos Emeralds are Alien technology rather than just centuries old gems that were in safe keeping at the shrine of the Master Emerald." Sage and Dr. Eggman ask "how is this possible we just lived through that adventure?" Hermione pulls out a video game console but not just any console it's a Nintendo Switch OLED that has Sonic Frontiers already installed on it and she says "it's possible through this right here along with some other consoles." she continues by saying "this is Nintendo's newest and most successful console ever made the Nintendo Switch and this is the most recent model called the OLED."
she then boots it up and starts a new game of Sonic Frontiers on hard mode and they watch the opening cutscene and once it finishes and Sonic appears in Green Hill Zone in Cyberspace Dr. Eggman and Sage say "that cinches it either word of the adventure leaked beyond the Bermuda Triangle or they accurately predicted what we,Sonic and his three closest friends would be up to before we actually did it." and Dr. Eggman says "but there's one small problem the real Sage isn't originally an AI girl she's originally a boy named Harry Potter." Hermione then asks "how is this possible?"
Dr. Eggman and Sage tell what really went down that halloween night and Hermione decides there's no way they're lying considering they're sitting in front of her. she then asks "does Sonic or anyone else know about this?" Sage says "Sonic does know and I have a feeling Father's rouge E-100 series robot Omega knows as well since he called me little sister at my birthday party."
Dr. Eggman then says " I noticed that too Sage maybe there's some loyalty left in him but not to me but to you"
Hermione then asks "how is it you two formed a parental bond so easily when the game says it happened over the course of the entire adventure?"
Dr. Eggman says "maybe it's because Sage retained her magical powers while living in my EggNet." and Hermione knows better than to claim how that can't be possible since she has played games of his past escapades with Sonic and friends at home on her Xbox Series S which has games depicting the Perfect Chaos incident, the Eclipse Cannon being fired on the moon and more recently a space station using the emerald's power to fire a laser that wakes up Dark Gaia.
they then notice the time and Dr. Eggman gives them privacy to change into their Hogwarts uniforms and while doing so Hermione asks "what house are you going to be in? I'll go there to be with you." Sage Responds "I'll likely go to Ravenclaw." Hermione then says "I'll go there too do you want to be friends?" Sage says "yes I'd like that." she then introduces Athena to her new friend by saying "with that settled here's another friend for you to get along with. this is my Hero Chao friend Athena." and the Chao says "hi nice to meet you."
Hermione then says "it's nice to meet you too." then asks Sage "how is she talking I thought a mechanical Chao called Omochao can do that?"
Sage Replies with "it must be because we've bonded to where Athena is my first familiar while my Owl Hedwig here is my second familiar."
they finish getting dressed and then they arrive at Hogwarts and are surprised a supposed school is a castle fit for a king.
after all the formalities are done with Dr. Eggman being introduced as the new History of Magic professor and he's met with roaring applause from the muggleborns and muggle-raised half-bloods who quickly and quietly inform their clueless pureblood contemporaries what he could teach them and they to start giving approval.
the sorting goes as canon but with two exceptions when Hermione is called up she tells the sorting hat exactly what he canonically wants to hear and she's sent to Ravenclaw and when Sage is called she tells the sorting hat to place her with Hermione in Ravenclaw and it does.
ending AN: there you have it Hermione and Sage are now in Ravenclaw house at Hogwarts this was longer than I intended but it'll do all the same.
Next time: it's a small time skip to the morning after and both Hermione and Sage along with Athena go to Transfiguration, Potions, History of Magic and Astronomy before calling it a day.
