Out of Luck
During Leviathan's assault on Textopolis
Seemingly Wild Emojimons attacking Textopolis, only three of them managed to escape, however something happened.
A Blue Owl Figure in front of them and speaks in a femenine voice
?: Don't Worry, Everyone, Everything will be okay. (Her eyes shine, summoning a blue light surrounding everyone)
The Blue light appears in Textopolis, Purifies everyone in Textopolis, Destroys most of the leaks of L-Virus and all the Appmons (All the now purified Emojimons and Leviathan's minions) have teleported out of there.
And then the mysterious man's minions appear coming from with weapons, nets and technological equipment but they see everyone in Textopolis have disappeared.
As for the places they arrived, they were transported in different places from the AR Field to all the islands of the Net Ocean
In the middle of a city in the AR Field two Emojimons with meh faces appear suddenly.
Female Meh Emojimon (Sounding dully): Uh, such a rough landing. (Checks around the city, now confused but still sounding dully ) Where are we?
Male Meh Emojimon (Sounding Dully but with a more realistic confused expression): No idea, but I guess we are no longer in Textopolis.
Female Meh Emojimon (shocked but still with a dull expression): Where is Gene?
Male Meh Emojimon (shocked, turning around): Our son isn't here with us?!
Female Meh Emojimon: I guess they transported all of us to different places when that big light appeared, he could be lost right now.
Male Meh Emojimon: I guess they saved us in a way we didn't want, separating us from our son and our friends, (now with a determined face) but we shouldn't worry, we will find our son again.
Three Days Later, Back in Haru's House
Haru was checking his Applidrive, wondering what exactly is this device, for now he knows that it can help him see Appmons, Appliarise them and go through portals to the AR Field. However he feels there are more functions both him and Gatchmon don't know yet.
Haru: What is exactly this thing really?
Meanwhile Gatchmon was happily enjoying Haru's room playing with his childhood toys and settling himself as a plushie just in case his parents don't suspect anything weird about him.
Gatchmon: I didn't have any idea how good the real world is. I searched everything related to this world but never felt the experience, it is really great!
Then someone shouted
Afro Guy: NOOOOO! Why did this "meh" face appear out of nowhere?
Haru (Heard that man screaming): What just happened?! (Then he gets out of his house) and watches many people distraught
Afro Guy: How can I take that face out?! (He is trying to take the meh face out of his phone but the screen is frozen)
Many people are seen having this problem, distraught as they have all their phones frozen up with that meh face, Haru checks his phone and as soon he turns on the phone and sees that there is nothing wrong.
News Reporter: It's been reported that many meh emojis faces have appeared on many phones and tablets lately, it's been rumored that those faces appeared because their users lost in luck based games and now its apparently making their devices useless until there is a fix up.
Edy is watching the news in home, confused on what is happening
Edy: So basically there is a mysterious virus infecting those so called luck games, I don't play those games because they seem pretty fake.
Gene is watching pretty closely these meh faces, Edy, Hi-Five and Jailbreak wonder why Gene is keeping a close eye on those big mehs, until…
Gene: Is this possible?
Edy, Hi-Five and Jailbreak look at him confused why he is keen in those news
Sometime later, Haru and Gatchmon are trying to find who is the infected Appmon responsible for this, while doing that Haru is using his phone to call Edy and Gatchmon is using his magnifying glass where the infected Appmon is and then he finds him, it's a golden slot machine looking Appmon and has two pull levers that work as arms and is infected with the L-Virus.
Gatchmon: Haru, I found him.
Haru (on the phone): Gatchmon said he found him, we'll see you there. (Hangs up) Edy said he is coming right now, who did you find?
Gatchmon: Is Luckmon, a lucky slot game Appmon.

Gatchmon: Maybe, let's go after him
Haru: Ok (Uses his Applidrive towards the AR field)
Luckmon has his slot-eyes to show some surprise that they have been following him
Luckmon: So i have been followed, well, let's see if you guys are lucky enough to defeat me!
Gatchmon: We don't need luck to win a battle against you! Haru!
Haru: Yes! Appmon Chip, Ready! (opens his Applidrive, inserts Gatchmon's chip in the Applidrive and closes it.)
Haru's Applidrive (Flashing its cover): "Appliarise."
(Gatchmon emerges from the Applidrive and regains his physical form.)

Then Edy and the others finally are in the AR Field
Edy: Sorry for the delay Shinkai-san, we are here
Haru: Glad you're here
Jailbreak: Well I am ready
Hi-Five: I was born ready for this
Gene: Wait, let me handle this alone (Hi-Five and Jailbreak are confused) I need to check something in this battle, Edy, Appliarise me
Edy: Well, if you say so, Appmon Chip, Ready! (opens his Applidrive, inserts Gene's chip in the Applidrive and closes it.)
Edy´s Applidrive (Flashing its cover): "Appliarise."
(Gene emerges from the Applidrive and regains his physical form.)

Luckmon: Wow, so unlucky of me, two against one, it looks like I am going to lose (with fake tears, then…) Just kidding (Now both Gatchmon and Gene are confused)
Two Figures Appear suddenly and are revealed to be
Mel and Mary Meh, Gene's parents and are infected by the L-Virus

Mel in response changes his typical meh face, he shows a creepy face that scares Gene and the others

Gene (whispering): I knew it, they are infected, but I didn´t that the L-Virus made them forget me
And then in front of Gene is Luckmon, grinning
Luckmon: Wow, such lame luck, but don't worry, it will be worse! Lucky Slot! (The slots started spinning and the three slots didn't land equally), It looks that I was right! (From Luckmon's mouth, many things are getting dropped, many black cats, which Gene is trying to evade but one is scratching his face, then a ladder comes rounding him and then a lot of salt is getting dropped in front of him, drowning him)
Edy (concerned): Gene!
Gene: It's Okay, it's just a breach of bad luck!
Luckmon: Well, it's just beginning your unlucky road, just be prepared to be…
Gatchmon (Behind Luckmon): Full of luck but not for you! Gatch Claw! (Slashes Luckmon that makes him barf the L-Virus, in 3, 2, 1, the virus explodes purifying Luckmon)
Luckmon: What a lucky day, Everything feels so good, (His slots are rolling and the slots land in three sevens) My slots have been filled with the luck of having new friends at my side (goes into Haru's Applidrive, now back as a chip showing Luckmon's picture.)
Haru: We did it, Gatchmon
Gatchmon (proudly): Of course, my search can't be beaten by mere fake luck
Gene: Thanks for the help Gatchmon, but how weren't you affected by his attacks, unlike me?
Gatchmon: It did slightly, but when we started searching for his weaknesses, we found out different results, either get good luck charms, purifying spells or believe in myself, the last option was the most satisfying
Haru: That is right, luck can be tricky but our motivations to continue further are even stronger than that
Edy: I get it, but Gene you looked distracted when Luckmon attacked, what happened?
Gene: Looks that I got distracted by my parents getting infected by the L-Virus and are now in front of us
Mary (in a dull tone): Believe in ourselves? What a joke
Mel (with a creepy frowney face): It's just a waste of time that believing in ourselves will change the world, is stupid
Gatchmon: Why are you saying that?! Why did you start to be that pessimistic as a result?!
Jailbreak: They were always like that, they are meh Emojimons, their emotions have to be linked with that expression they have
Hi-Five: But Gene's dad can also show other expressions, so he must have other emotions

Gatchmon now faces Mary, while Gene faces Mel

Mary: We'll see about that, Emoji Shiner. (She is doing the same technique as Gene and with the same strength but Gatchmon manages to avoid that)
Gatchmon: You are pretty strong to be honest, but now I won't let Gene's concern for you go in vain. Gatch Claw! (Gatchmon slashes Mary purifying her from the L-Virus in 3, 2, 1, the virus explodes and she gets purified)
Mel: Mary!
Gene: You do remember mom, after all, but not me? That is odd!
Mel: Meddle in your own business! Gatchmon Multimoji Adapt! Gatch Claw! (He is adapting the same attack Gatchmon did seconds ago towards Gene, but Gene manages to evade it)
Gene: You guys are my business, when you said that I wasn't ready to work on the phone, I should've listened to you, you were always showing a meh towards everything even if we were meh by birth, but that is not entirely true! You were always caring for me! You were preparing for the day you would tell me your secret of showing other expressions, because I was afraid to always be considered an outcast, even though you always cared for me and I didn't know how to thank you but now today is the day.
Mel (Showing some tears): G-Gene…
Gene: Dad! ¡Mom! Thank you! Now thanks to you I will always be more proud of who I am and let me show these emotions to save you! Emoji Shiner! (Throws the sphere towards Mel making him expel the L-Virus out of him, In 3,2,1, the virus explodes and purifies Mel)
Mary went towards Haru's Applidrive and Mel went towards Edy's Applidrive, both are now in different chips showing their respective pictures
Gatchmon: We did it!
Gene: Yeah, finally we saved my parents! I feel better now, looks we make a good team
Gatchmon: Yeah!
Gatchmon and Gene high-five
Edy: Well, everything is now fine, Shinkai-San
Haru: Yeah, but please don't be that formal, you can call me Haru, Edy
Edy: Okay, Haru. (Shows his hand to make a traditional high five but Haru, shows him another high five)
Haru and Edy do the same high five that Haru and Yuujin usually do
Edy (Amazed): Wow (Haru smiles)
Above them is Cameramon, once again checking on them
Cameramon: Splendid teamwork, I guess the next time, things should be more challenging (disappears once again)
Both Haru and Edy appliarise Mary and Mel and Gene hugs them
Gene (in tears): Mom! Dad! I thought I would never see you again!
Mary (With the same dully way to speak): It's okay, Gene! I am glad you found us, when everything was lost you saved us, thank you (Shows a genuine smile)
Everyone is shocked by the fact Mary just smiled
Mel: Mary, did you just smile?!
Mary (Shocked, now with a shocked expression): I can't believe it, I really smiled and now I am feeling shocked, what just happened?
Gatchmon: I am not sure, but I guess, since you are now away from your origin place, you have more variety to express your real emotions.
Meanwhile all the other expression Emojimons from Textopolis in various other places across the AR Fields and the Net Ocean, are showing other expressions than the ones they are accustomed to do, mostly of them confused and shocked of how this is possible that this is happening right now, specially Smiler who right now is on an island surrounded by hooded creatures with large lips and pointy teeth.
Mel: Things have really been strange since we became Appmons, Textopolis was invaded and infected but then cleansed and you three disappeared.
Hi-Five: Thanks for making me remember, how did you escape the L-Virus in Textopolis
Jailbreak: Actually, I want to know how
(Flashback, Mary and Mel will narrate what happened)
Mary: After you three disappeared, we were in trouble, we were infected but then a miracle happened, from the sky appeared a blue owl lady purified us all but also transported all of us to different places, then we were in the AR Field trying to find Gene
Mel: And then we were tired and we found an Appmon casino, many Appmons were playing bets and drinking digital beer or something, we were having the fun of our lives by playing and drinking, then we had the bad luck to cross with Luckmon, the luckiest player out of all the casino, there was a misunderstanding we don't remember since we were drunk but Luckmon followed us and then the three of us got infected.
(Now back to the same place as they ended telling the story)
Mary: And this is how we met once again (Both Mary and Mel sheepishly smile)
Everyone else are now shocked that this all happened due to a silly fight they were having
Gene: And that is all?
Mel: Yeah, basically
Luckmon (in Haru 's band). Now I remember, I was angry at you two because I thought you stole my money then I realize that you didn't stole anything, it was with me all the time, inside of me (sheepishly laughs añongside Mary and Mel, but everyone else don't seem amused)
Gatchmon: That didn't made any sense
Edy: Yeah, that story is pretty weird
Haru: Wait, did you say you were saved by a mysterious blue owl?
Mary: Yes, that's right
Gene: And the others were transported to other places?
Mel: Yes
Hi-Five: Such a mystery, does she mean she opposes Leviathan?
Jailbreak. Seems so
Gene: Well, I have to thank her wherever she is because thanks to her I found you again
Mel: I am glad you are okay son and you two as well, but all those people, are your new friends
Haru: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I am Haru Shinkai, glad to meet you two and this is my bu
Gatchmon: And my name is Gatchmon, Haru's buddy, I am a search engine Appmon
Edy: And I am Edy Saucedo, glad to meet you! I am your son's human buddy
Mel and Mary: Buddy? Wait, Human?!
Mel (shocked, pointing at Haru and Edy): You two are humans?
Haru: Um, Yes
Mary (excited): Mel, We are really interacting directly with humans, isn't that amazing
Edy: Looks like things will be like that from now on, we have to tell them everything that happened so far
Gene: Yep
And both Mary and Mel with new expressions to show their real emotions to show there is going to be more than luck to make them less excited.

Yeah since Edy is from another country he has to learn some japanese honorifics, he called Haru, Shinkai-san, because he is one year older than him, while Haru in japanese calls Edy, Edy-kun, but since this story is translated is just Edy.
