Chapter 7: Everything's All 'Normal'
It's Halloween night when Marco bring three kids up to the front door of his house and the door slowly open to reveal Rafael in his pumpkin costume with light under his face. "Oh." Rafael tried his best with creepy tone, "Hello, children."
"Uh…" The middle kid in cowboy costume muttered, "Hey."
"You should be at home with the door locked." The adult looked around with poor-creepy tone.
"We're here for your…" The kid in vampire costume lifted his hand up awkwardly, "To see your haunted house."
"But this is the most dangerous place to be." Rafael whispered as the kids just stare blankly while his son just look at them, "Well then, step inside…" He stepped back, "At your peril!"
"Is this a joke?" The vampire kid looked up to Marco funnily.
"Just remember our deal." Marco pushed the kids inside with an annoyed expression.
"Perhaps you are more brave than smart." The bulky man spoke, "Or perhaps you are just like me." He leaned closer to the little girl in witch costume, "Perhaps you too have sympathy for the monster."
"Oh, boy." The Latino teenager groaned to himself as Star and Janna exchange glances with each other on the stairs and his mother play a creepy music in a corner.
"Bur beware!" Rafael whistled loudly as his wife pretended to gasp on cue, "Do not do what I have done." He pushed a button behind his back, "You must never let the monster inside." A Frankenstein's monster balloon pop up from behind the couch and it don't faze the kids.
"I can't do this." The vampire kid turned his head to Marco with a heavy sigh, "Can you turn on the lights, please?" The lights turned on, "Look, man, you seem like a nice guy, and I wanna be scared…I really do. But the truth is, I'm eight. That's like 90 years old in Halloween years." He pointed to his friends, "Next year, we might not even be afraid of monsters. I don't wanna waste my time." The kids get off the couch, "I'm sorry. You're just not scary."
"I'm not scary?" Rafael said sadly with slumped shoulders.
"Come on, guys…" The cowboy said before the closet door kicked open to reveal…
"FRESH MEAT!" Naruto screamed with revving bloody chainsaw as a right eyeball hanging out and some intestine hanging out from his stomach, blood smears all over his lower mouth and clothes. The sight of him cause the children to ran out with bloodcurdling screams, "Ha!" He laughed as he lower his chainsaw, "Can't believe how easy it is to fool these anklebiters with toy chainsaw and some props."
"Nice one!" Janna laughed with a thumb-up and Star just giggle at her boyfriend's trick before they hear a groan, causing everyone to turn their heads to see Rafael carrying the grunting monster.
"Okay." Rafael laughed unhinged, "Halloween is over. Janna, Naruto, and Star need to go home now."
"Dad, Naruto and Star lives here." Marco reminded his father.
"Yes, Marco." His father laughed, "It doesn't always have to be an argument. Sometimes we just do what daddy says." He kicked the monster balloon then drag it outside through back door with some struggles, "Now, if anybody needs me, I'll be in the shed."
"Is he okay?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow.
"He does it every year and it makes him miserable." Marco exhaled wearily.
"Okay, so what do we do?" Star asked.
"Oh, I got it." Janna jabbed her thumb to the front door over her shoulder, "Let's go to that other haunted house down the street and just ditch this one."
"What?" The Latino teenager uttered before he make a double chopping gesture with his arms, "No. You're missing the point. How do we make my dad's haunted house scary?"
"We can always summon Hungry Larry." The magical girl suggested.
"Hungry Larry?" The mixed teenager raised his eyebrow again.
"Who?" Marco asked.
"Oh, Hungry Larry." Star laughed, "You know, you summon him, he comes and haunts your house. I've heard he's a real creep." She stick a lollipop into her mouth.
"We're not summoning…" Marco smacked his forehead before he look at his friends, "Anyone. We're not summoning. Ugh!" He smacked his face again, "I can't believe I even have to have this conversation with you." He walked out.
"Where are you going?" The magical girl asked.
"I'm gonna go bribe some five-year-olds." The Latino teenager answered, "Maybe they'll think my dad's scary." He poked his head inside, "No summoning." With that, he leave.
"Oh, the kids forget their bags." Naruto picked three candy bags before he looked at the girls, "I'm gonna bring them back to the kids. Be back later."
"Okay!" Star waved to him with Janna as the mixed teenager left the house, "…Wanna summon Hungry Larry?"
"Oh, yeah!" Janna grinned widely.
"You sure that's everything inside?" Naruto asked the kids. It took him about a hour to find the kids to give their bags back and he want them to check to see if they don't lose anything, who'll know if they accidentally drop a piece of their favorite candy when they ran out.
"Yeah." The witch girl looked up from her bag as her friends nodded together, "Everything's here. Thank you, mister!"
"No problem…" The teenager waved it off before they hear a loudest scream and he turn his head around with a blink, wondering where it came from and what kind of attraction or trick scared this screamer. He turn back to see empty space where the kids used to be and he look around with a head scratch. "Boy, these kids sure can move fast."
"Oh, hey, Naruto." The said teenager turned around to see Jackie as she walked over to him with a wave, wearing an mermaid costume.
"Hey, Jackie." The blonde waved back to the skater, "What bring you out here?"
"I'm heading to a party." Jackie replied, "You?"
"Just returning the candy bags to the kids." Naruto chuckled, "I scared them so bad that they drop everything and bolt."
"Oh, I see." She chuckled lightly before she looked around.
"If you're looking for Marco, he's home." He said as the skater looked a little flustered at getting caught before he smirk teasingly, "Planning to ask him to come as your date?"
"N-No." Jackie bring her hand up to twirling her hair slightly, "…Yes? Maybe…"
"Maybe?" Naruto said.
"Well, he's nice and sweet…" The skater replied, "And he have a crush on me…I think I should give him a chance."
"Ooooooh." The smirking blonde teased, earning a light punch on shoulder. "You plan to tell him now or…?"
"Later." Jackie answered, "I'm thinking of asking him out for this school dance in couple months if he don't ask me out yet."
"Knowing him, you will do the asking part." Naruto snickered and she just snorted in amusement. "Well, good luck with that."
"Thanks." She nodded lightly, "Oh, do you want to go to the party? I hear it's off the hook."
"Nah, I'm going back to Diaz's." He waved it off, "Mr. Diaz is kinda acting little weird since the kids told him he's not scary."
"Ouch." Jackie shook her head, "Hope he don't take it bad. Oh, and tell Star I said hey."
"Will do!" Naruto said before they said their byes to each other and went on their own ways.
Naruto whistle a tune as he get close to Diaz's household and he see a small figure walk toward to the cab in a ghost sheet outfit, getting inside before the cab suddenly flew upward to the starry sky. The blonde look up with few blinks then it become rapid when he see many kids race outside, all covered in some kind of black liquids. Naruto walk inside while glancing over his shoulders few times before he see the Diaz family in a group hug with Star and Janna, also covered in black liquids. "…I missed something again, didn't I?"
"Naruto!" Rafael grinned widely, "Come and join the hug!"
"Yes, come here!" Angie beamed, "There's a spot opening for you!"
"Um, ok." Naruto shrugged before he join the group hug, between Star and Rafael. "So how did you guys end up like that?"
"We summoned Hungry Larry and he swallow everyone up." Janna grinned, "Then Rafael crawl inside and scare the daylight out of everyone before Larry barf us out, henceforth the black liquid."
"…So we're all covered in some guy's vomits?" The mixed teenager pointed out and there was a long pause as most widened their eyes in horror.
"…I need a shower." Marco shuddered, "A looooong one."
"Us too." Angie whispered while staring at the black vomits with widened eyes, "Us too."
"Ah, also, why do we celebrate Halloween twice?" Naruto asked.
"I don't know, but it's always like that in this city." Janna shrugged her shoulders.
"You yanks are so weird sometime, you know that?" The mixed teenager muttered lowly with arched brow.
A few weeks went by and Naruto was walking with Marco in the hallway. "I heard from Star that you're trying to do something with your runic sealing." Marco glanced at his friend.
"Yup." Naruto nodded, "I want to create some attack-based runic by rewriting trap sealing and combine them with element." He rubbed his chin with a hum, "Maybe I'll bond the seals to something wearable like gloves or jacket? Or I can turn jacket into magic machine gun like Spider with Top Hat?"
"What element?" The brunette asked.
"Wind, of course." The blonde said, "It's pretty easy one."
"Ah, and what level are you on with this sealing?" Marco asked.
"B rank." Naruto smirked, "Star almost faint when I told her that. Ha, and it's not even high-B level."
"…What's the different between B and high B?" The brunette blinked owlishly.
"High-B level is more complex than B and yet they're high than low-B." The blonde replied and the brunette threw his hands up at his friend's lazy answer.
"Riiiight, and what's the final level for that?" Marco sighed.
"S rank." Naruto paused, "I think? I need to check it out with Star or Quest Buy's book sections."
"…Quest Buy have book sec…" The Latino teenager uttered in pure puzzlement before they enters Star's bedroom to see Star and Pony Head with thick makeover and wax lips. "Ladies! What's up with your lips?"
"Oh, don't be hatin' 'cause we look good and you don't." Pony Head whipped her styled mane sassily.
"What are you talking about?" Marco gave himself a look over, "I look all right."
"Mm, say the bloke that wear same thing everyday." Naruto muttered lowly under his breath.
"…Dude, your girlfriend also wears same outfit everyday." The brunette deadpanned at him.
"Not true, she mixed things up few times a week." The mixed teenager replied.
"He's right." Star giggled before she gasp to their brunette friend, "Marco! Why don't you tell Pony Head what we got her?"
"Uh, we got you something special for your first Friendship Thurs…" Marco said before their magical friend cut him off.
"Friendship Thursday!" The magical girl singsong as she did a little dance with her boyfriend, "Friendship Thursday!"
"Hook a girl up already!" Pony Head smiled.
The floating head stare at the teenagers in living room as they sit together on couch under a giant fleece blanket. "It's a friendship snuggly!" Star beamed as she slightly lean against Naruto, sneakily playing with each other's hands.
"Yeah, no romance, just pure platonic." Marco smiled smugly.
"Uh…" Pony Head stammered, "Great. Uh, thanks, guys…Um, but how are we gonna dance in this?"
"We're not going dancing, silly." The magical girl laughed.
"Excuse me, what?" The floating head gasped.
"It's school night so we usually go dancing on weekends." Naruto said as the floating head become more shocked, "…Well, not often, just once in a while."
"Fifteen minutes to showtime!" Marco crawled out under the blanket as the timer went off from his phone, "I'm gonna go get the pizza." He walked out of the house.
"Pi-zza?" Pony Head questioned.
"Yeah!" Star grinned, "You can't watch Fiesta de la Noche! without pizza!"
"Fist full of whatta-what?" The floating head struggled with unfamiliar words.
"It's this awesome telenovela about three friends that go out every night and have all sorts of fun!" The magical girl grinned, "It's almost good as the one I watch with Naruto…" She craned her head up to him, "What was the name again?"
"Downton Abbey?" Naruto replied, "Sherlock? Doctor Who?"
"All of them!" Star giggled, "Everything I watch are best when I'm with you."
"Aw, you!" He pecked his girlfriend's forehead, earn a happy hum from her.
"Okay, yeah." Pony Head chuckled, "We're just gonna sit on the couch and watch other people party on that rectangle box thing. Okay. Good one."
"Oh, yeah, baby!" The magical girl laughed, "That's what Friendship Thursday is all about."
"That and we like to sneak one or two in here and there." The mixed teenager also laughed, "It's more fun to do it behind Marco's back."
"Yeah, like making some funny face at his back." Star giggled uncontrollable, "N-Naruto, stop tickling me!"
"O-Only if you stop first!" Naruto laughed.
"Uh…" Pony Head spit her wax lip out, "I have to go to the bathroom." As soon as she finished, she flew out through the front door.
"Is she going after Marco?" He asked.
"Yup." The magical girl spit her wax lip out, "I bet you she's curious about pizza since her kingdom don't have one."
"I'm not surprised by that." Naruto shrugged his shoulders, "Your realm is pretty behind on few things like foods and technology…No offense."
"None taken, because I agree with you." Star nodded, "The marvelous entertainment we have is theater and corns is all rage because it's new. I like here more than Mewni."
"But Mewni have few things that the Earth don't have." The mixed teenager said as she looked up to him curiously, "Warnicorn and crazy hunting."
"Ooh, two of my favorite things!" The magical girl gasped in realization, "Remember one time I took you to sandwich dimension to hunt some sandwiches and we end up spend two whole days, bagging all ramen sandwiches."
"Yeah, I think we just hunted them to extinction." Naruto chuckled sheepishly.
"Oh, we don't." Star patted his arm lightly, "The sandwich queens will create more ramen sandwiches as long as they live."
"Huh, learn something new today." He blinked once and they cuddle for few moments. "…How long will it take until they come back?"
"Knowing Pony, maybe a hour or two." She hummed.
"…Want to make out until then?"
"Sure! Let's get under there." Star pulled the blanket over their heads before the couple almost immediately make out on the couch.
"Uh, guys?" Star looked at her friends as she held a burnt pizza slice and both Marco and Pony Head just snoring loudly while Fiesta de la Noche! was playing. "Mm." She shrugged before she singsong, "Emilioooo's!" She took a bite of her slice before she spit it out with some gag, "Way too much mushrooms."
"Want me to pick them off or pop a pie in oven?" Naruto asked her, picking some mushrooms off her burnt slice.
"Both." She replied with couple gags, "Supreme pizza, please."
"Nah, I don't see it." Naruto shook his head at Marco as they walked upstairs few days later.
"It's right there!" Marco pointed at his chest, "See? My first chest hair!"
"Still don't see it." The blonde shook his head again.
"Ugh!" The brunette teenager enter Star's bedroom with Naruto, "Hey, Star, check it out. I'm getting my first chest hair. It's pretty small, but if you look at it in just the right light…" He noticed Glossaryck as the elder just floating lifeless, "Uh, Glossaryck?" He poked the said person, "What's up with him?"
"I think he's dead." Naruto pointed at the elder's black eyes.
"He's on the fritz." Star replied while staring at opening spell book.
"Wait a sec." The Latino teenager get closer with worried expression as the mixed teenager lightly swat Glossaryck away like a fly when the body float too close to his head, "Are you doing something you're not supposed to?"
"Glossaryck said not to turn the page." She said before she gasp with shiny eyes, "But he didn't say you couldn't…"
"Oh, turn the page!" Naruto grinned widely behind them.
"Turn the page!" Star chanted together with her boyfriend, "Turn the page!"
"…Oh, I'm gonna turn the page!" Marco caved into the peer pressure.
"Turn the page!" The blonde couple singsong.
"I'm gonna turn the page!" The Latino teenager turned to face the book.
"Turn the page, Marco!" The couple singed it out and the brunette turned the page with glee.
"I turned it!"
Star read her spell book at desk as Naruto lie on her bed, reading advanced level of Runic sealing before Glossaryck's eyes turn back to normal with a jolt. "Oh!" Glossaryck moved over to Star's side, "So?"
"Yeah." Star hummed uninterestingly.
"You read the whole thing?" The elder asked.
"Yeah." She replied curtly, closing the book.
"And?" Glossryck tucked himself inside the book.
"It wasn't all that." Star shrugged with her hands, "I mean, I get it. Power of darkness, forces of evil, eternal suffering, blah-blah-blah. But honestly, didn't really affect me that much. Just wasn't my thing."
"Yes!" The elder quietly pumped fist to himself.
"But Marco, on the other hand…" She looked up to the ceiling to reveal the said teenager floating in purple magic with completely black eyes and speaking in gibberish. "Yikes!"
"Yup, he have been up there for…" Naruto looked up from his book, "A hour or two. Just floating up there and speaking like that."
"Luckily, there's a spell to fix that." Glossaryck said before he snap his finger with a mutter of some spell and Marco turn back to normal, hit the floor with a painful cry.
"My face…" Marco moaned in pain.
A week later, it was lunchtime at school as Naruto and Star stare at Marco, who was banging his head on the table. "That!" Marco banged his head, "Was! So! Stupid! Ugh!"
"Hey, hey, now, Marco." Star tried to cheer him up, "It's not that big a deal."
"It's kinda big deal when it come to ask your crush out." Naruto said, "He fumbled up with asking Jackie out."
"I heard what happened." Janna approached the table with a smirk before she sit down in front of the brunette, "Everyone's talking about it. Welp, looks like you should just give up on dating forever."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence." The deadpanned Latino teenager sighed, "I'm not gonna let being tongue-tied stop me. Pen me!"
"Here's a pencil." Naruto handed it over to him.
"Jackie, will you go out with me Friday night?" Marco write it down while staring at Jackie across the courtyard.
"Um, Marco, I think you should read it again…" The mixed teenager said before his friend walk toward to his crush, "…I can't watch that."
"Why?" Star asked him curiously.
"Wait for it." Naruto shook his head gently.
"Hey, uh, Jackie?" The Latino teenager called out to his crush timidly.
"Oh, hey, there you are." Jackie smiled at him, "I got your paper towels."
"Oh, uh…" Marco traded his note for paper towel with nervous giggle, "Here's some paper for you."
"Marco can't grow hair on his chin, but he can on his back?" The skater read it out loud before she look up to him questioningly.
"Ha!" Janna laughed.
"What?!" The Latino teenager quickly sntach it back before he read it with a whisper, "Marco can't grow hair on his chin, but he can on his back?!" He quickly looked back up to Jackie with a nervous grin as he slowly back away until he accidentally bump into a swimmer, spilling his lunch all over the jacket in process.
"Bro, my jacket." The swimmer gasped.
"Oh, uh, sorry, Chet!" Marco quickly apologized.
"No worries." Chet brushed it off goodheartedly, "It's just a material possession."
"Marco thinks Chet should punch him." The Latino teenager spoke.
"What?" The swimmer blinked owlishly.
"No, no, no!" Marco waved his hands as the students watched on in confusion, "I mean, if-if Marco were Chet, he'd totally punch Marco."
"It's just a jacket, dude." Chet looked concern about him.
"Marco would lose all respect for Chet if Chet didn't punch Marco?!" The Latino teenager suddenly take hold of the swimmer's arm, lifting it up.
"Don't…" The swimmer looked uncomfortable as the brunette teenager forced him to make a fist, "Don't make me do this, bro!" Marco pulled Chet's fist into his face, giving himself a black eye. "BROOOOOOOOO!"
"Want to talk about it?" Naruto asked as Marco soak his black eye with water from drinking fountain.
"Yeah, what happened in there?" Star asked.
"I don't know what got into me." Marco straightened up, "Every time I'm around Jackie, I keep blurting out the wrong thing." The said girl walked by, "Every night when Marco goes to sleep, he shapes his pillow in the form of Jackie Lynn Thomas!" He blurted out before he cover his mouth with a gasp, "And kisses it goodnight!"
"Did you say something?" Jackie turned to them with a tilted head, not able to hear anything but her name.
"Mmph!" The Latino teenager mumbled behind his hands before he fall over with some groans as the students gather around him and the black clouds appear in the sky.
"Marco, what's happening?!" Star asked worriedly.
"I think he might have some nervous breakdown?" Naruto bend down to patted their friend's back.
"Wait." Janna grinned with crossed arms, "Let's see where this goes." The Latino teenager continue to toss around with screams until something grow out from his neck, revealing a smaller head with slicked hair and gap in teeth.
"Hello." The small head greeted happily.
"Oh, you made a little Marco Junior." Star smiled after a long scream.
"Wow, didn't know you have a vestigial twin." Naruto whistled with a light wave, "Hi, Marco Junior.".
"Sup, Marco Junior?" The mischievous girl shook Marco's hand with a big smirk on her face.
"Janna, that's…" Marco stuttered in complete bewilder, "That's not his hand. That's…"
"Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh." The small head laughed, "Marco Diaz covers the mirror when he showers because…Because, because Marco is ashamed of his own body!"
"Oh, it's so adorable." The magical girl smiled.
"Yeah, giving us a lot of blackmail materials." Naruto snickered.
"Are you crazy?!" The Latino teenager threw his hands up, "How am I ever gonna ask out Jackie like this?!"
"Hey, guys." Jackie reappeared as Marco quickly hide himself behind Janna, "Did any of you get the English homework assignment?" There was a muffling sound coming from Marco's direction.
"Ah, I'll help you out." Naruto said.
"Yeah, come with us!" Star pushed the skater away from Marco and Janna, following by Naruto.
"Hey, where'd you get my combination?" Marco asked Janna as she unlocked his locker and the blonde couple just stand by, the mischievous teenager claim she remember the little head before.
"From your diary." Janna replied.
"Bloke, really?" Naruto deadpanned at his brunette friend, "It's like saying you save your password info on your own computer."
"Shut up." The Latino teenager blushed in embarrassment before Janna remove a panel in back to reveal a secret hole, "…What is that stuff?"
"Just some of my personal things." The mischievous girl answered casually as she take a thick black book out, looking through the pages. "I've seen Marco Junior somewhere before…"
"Stop calling it that!" Marco threw his hands up.
"Here!" Janna pressed her finger on the page, "The Naysaya. The Naysaya grows out of the neck of its victim."
"His name is Naysaya?" Naruto hummed.
"Yes, that is Naysaya when Naysaya was younger." The small head nodded in confirmation.
"It reveals itself when the afflicted attempts to woo their true love, exposing the victim's deepest, darkest secrets for all to hear." The mischievous girl read it out loud.
"And to judge!" Naysaya added joyfully.
"What the heck is that thing?" Marco pointed to a drawn figure in background behind a bush.
"Oh, that's a demon." Janna replied, "The Naysaya is a total demon curse."
"A demon…" The Latino teenager groaned in realization before he turn to the blonde couple, "Can one of you please open a portal for me, please?"
"I wonder what made Tom to cast curse on Marco in first place?" Naruto asked.
"Who know?" Star knocked the door of Marco's bedroom, "Marco? What did Tom say?"
"Thomas says Marco will have Naysaya for the rest of his life because…" Naysaya's voice spoke, "Because, because Marco is so insecure!"
"All that because Tom think Star and I are in love!" Marco's voice screamed furiously.
"Ew, you're like a brother to me." The magical girl groaned, "There's no way I'll going out with you…No offense."
"None taken." The Latino teenager's voice replied back.
"Again, I wonder where Tom got this idea in first place." Naruto shook his head with a eyeroll, "Sometime I get a funny feeling that Tom is hot for you instead of Star."
"Well, that's good chance because the demons are…" Star hummed.
"Guys, you should get back to school." Marco spoke up from behind the door, "You're missing classes."
"Well, aren't you coming too?" She asked.
"I won't be going to school anymore." The Latino teenager's voice replied.
"Wait, you're dropping out?" Naruto blinked rapidly as his girlfriend let an loud gasp out, "All because of one little curse."
"Yes." Star slide her finger under the door with drawn face, "Marco, it's just a demon curse. Don't let Naysaya keep you from what you want." There was nothing but a silence before she sigh heavily, "Okay. The door is cutting off the circulation to my finger, so I better get going." She pull her finger out, "Ooh, tingly."
"Maybe we should break in and take Marco out to some places that can remove the curse." Naruto said, massaging her finger gently.
"After school." She replied.
"Can I please blast his door open with air bullet?" Naruto asked his girlfriend with clasped hands at lockers, "Please? I want to test my first runic technique out. I'll let you break next five doors!"
"Tempting…" Star tapped her chin and Janna shake her head amusingly at them before she notice something.
"Look." Janna directed their attentions to a familiar face, "Is that Marco?"
"Oh, he's out…" Naruto stick his head out before he drop his head, "Aw, buttocks! That mean I can't break his door in."
"He's going for it!" Star gasped at the sight of Marco approaching Jackie.
"Hey, Marco." Jackie noticed a big blue scarf around said teenager's neck, "Wha…Are you cold? What's going on here with the scarf?"
"Oh, you know, sometimes I…" Marco tried to come up with a excuse, "Ski…To school." He heard a hard facepalm in background and he don't have to look back to know it's Naruto.
"No way!" Jackie grinned, "I snowboard! Awesome!"
"Yeah, yeah." The Latino teenager fidgeted with hands behind his back, "There's probably a lot of stuff you don't know about me. That's why I thought it would be cool if we, uh…If we…If you and I…If we went on a…"
"Oh-oh-oh, this is the Jacqueline Marco practiced asking out in the mirror." Naysaya spoke under the scarf, "Oh! Marco even pretend-kissed you with his own…Reflection." The brunette's eyes widened in horror as everyone stare at him.
"…Naysaya, you promised you wouldn't do that!" Marco hissed to the curse inside his scarf.

"Jackie, wait!" The Latino teenager waved his arms to stop her, "It's not me saying this stuff!" He take his scarf off to reveal Naysaya, "It's him!" Most of the students gasp at the sight and one girl faint with a hard thud.
"Greetings, Jacqueline." Naysaya smiled at the gaping skater.
"That is disgusting." An brunette girl muttered.
"Is that a British accent?" A cheerleader girl asked.
"Why, yes, it is!" Naruto hollered from a distance.
"Jackie, there's nothing I can do." Marco sighed, "Got this curse thing on my neck. But I'd still like to ask…"
"Marco hasn't taken a bath since he saw that shark movie!" The smaller head grinned.
"Ugh." The Latino teenager groaned, "He's right. I haven't taken a bath since I saw that shark movie. I mean, I take showers. I'm just…Afraid of the tub."

"Oh, yeah, and another thing." The Latino teenager held up a paper of crude art, "I kept this drawing you made of the moon. I pulled it out of the trash in art class."
"That's supposed to be a watermelon." Jackie pointed out.
"Oh, really?" Marco looked at the paper before he look back up at her, "Looks like a moon. Well, your watermelon reminds me of my biggest fear of all: that we're all alone on this tiny blue marble, floating in the infinite expanse of the universe, ripped from the center, and ejected out into a black void for no reason at all. Players on the stage of the absurd."
"Wow, that was really…" The skater looked down with a mutter, "Deep."
"So there it is, Jackie Lynn." The Latino teenager exhaled, "That's it. That's all my insecurities. You know everything now." He glared at the smaller head on his neck, "Unless I left anything out."
"No, Marco, that's…" Naysaya muttered, "Everything."
"I still think it'd be really great if we hung out Friday night." Marco asked Jackie.
"S-Settle down, love." Naruto held his bouncing girlfriend still as she laughed excitedly with starry eyes while waving her arms around animatedly, "I know you want double dates. Just wait until after that!"
"You know, a group of us are all going to a movie Friday night." Jackie smiled, "You should totally come."
"That would be awesome." The brunette teenager grinned widely.
"Cool." The skater nodded, "Well, see you then." With that, she skate away with a relaxing wave and before Marco know it, he get tackle down by Star.
"Wow, I can't believe that he pulls it off." Naruto chuckled lightly.
"Unbelievable." Janna muttered under her breath and the mixed teenager caught something within her tone, it sound a little bitter.
"What's the matter?" He asked her and the mischievous girl jolted up at his voice.
"Oh, nothing!" The mischievous girl waved it off before she approach their friends with a teasing smirk, "You know who to call when you get divorced, Marco."
'Do she like him?' Naruto wondered as he walked over to them.
"So, curse fulfilled right?" Marco looked at Naysaya as he jammed his hands inside hoodie's pocket, "How's this work? You just kinda dry up, flake off?"
"You know, Naysaya has never been to the movies." Naysaya said softly and the Latino teenager sighed heavily.
"Hey, after your first date, we should have a double date." Star hugged Naruto's arm with a exciting giggle and the brunette looked at Naruto funny.
"She's been dying to find another couple to go on a double date." The mixed teenager shrugged his shoulders lightly.
"That is twenty-seventh test with water type attack…" Naruto scratched his head with a pause, "Suiton? Yeah, let's go with that."
"Suiton?" Star asked with a camera, recording her boyfriend as he put a blue gloves on.
"It mean Water Release in Japanese." He said, "Sound better than saying water type attack."
"Ah, get it!" She gave him a thumb-up and the blonde boy turned to face a dummy post in backyard.
"Here I go!" Naruto clapped his hands once then thrust them outward to the dummy and all of sudden, the water manifest in a large orb in front of his hands before it shot out toward the post in form of water dragon. It crash into the post, flinging it away through the fence and flooding the road in process. "YES! IT'S A SUCCESS!" He pumped his fists up in celebration, "Suiryudan! Suiryudan!"
"WAY TO GO, NARUTO!" Star hopped up and down with a gleeful laughter, "THAT WAS SO AWESOME! AGAIN! AGAIN!"
"ALRIGHT!" The laughing boy perform it again.
"Hey, guys, can you help me setting the dance up at school…" Marco walked out before he scream out as the water dragon wash him out into the flooded road, floating away with flailing arms. "SERIOUSLY?! I FUCKING HATE WET SOCKS, YOU KNOW THAAAAAAAAAAT!"
"Oops." The mixed teenager scratched his head sheepishly and his girlfriend just giggled.
"Thanks for, uh, agreeing to go with me tonight, guys." Marco said to Naruto and Star as he hang the banner up in gymnasium, "Dances make me a little anxious."
"What are you so worried about?" Star leaned her elbow on the ladder.
"Well, I had a nightmare that I came to the dance alone, and everyone laughed and threw tomatoes at me!" The Latino teenager said, "Then all my teeth fell out, oh and then Jackie saw me and said I looked pasty."
"It's just a dream, I don't think it'll happen in real life." Naruto said.
"Yeah, it'll be fine." The magical girl added before Marco suddenly fall down onto the blonde couple with a scream.
"Whoa!" Marco sat up while holding two legs up, "My legs, I can't feel my legs!"
"That's Naruto's and my legs." Star cried out.
"Oh!" The embarrassed brunette released them, "Sorry!"
"What happened?" The magical girl asked.
"I just saw a huge rat in the air duct." Marco said and Naruto climb up the ladder to look inside the vent.
"…Oh." Naruto reached inside before he pull an rat out as it squeak, "Rubber rat. I forget about this one."
"…Why did you put it up there in first place?!" The Latino teenager threw his hands up, "Who the fuck is going to look inside the vent?!"
"I want to prank the janitor." The mixed teenager shrugged, "Then I end up forget about it." The brunette just glared at him, "What? I pull many pranks daily that I can't even keep track of them."
"When was the last time you did a prank?" Star asked, tapping her chin and there was a muffling explosive in a distance.
"Five minutes ago." Naruto smirked, "I rigged Lars' locker to launch paintballs then finish it off with stinky bomb." He snickered, "He won't be able to wash it out for the next twenty days."
"Star!" The said girl turned her head around to see Janna waving her over with a box, "Come here!"
"Janna Banana!" Star hopped up to her friend excitingly, "Did you get it? Did you get it?"
"I made it!" Janna opened the box to reveal a cake and an gnat fly out.
"Cake on a plate!" The magical girl give out an long gasp with big doe eyes.
"It's time to find out if the legend is true." The mischievous girl said.
"Will Bon Bon come back?" Star gasped before they speak together, "Just like his candles?" They share a laugh, "This seance is gonna be epic!"
"I will see you tonight at seven." Janna grinned.
"I'll see you tonight at…" The blonde girl paused with rapid blinks, "Wait what?"
"Yeah." The mischievous girl replied, "Bon Bon said he'd be back on his 100th death day, and that's tonight."
"Nooo!" Star groaned,"I thought it was tomorrow. Naruto and I promised to be there for Marco tonight. His teeth might fall out if he goes alone."
"What are you gonna remember more, high school dance or dead clowns seance?" Janna put her arm around her friend's shoulders.
"Dead Clown seance!" The magical girl answered before she jog back to the boys, "Naruto! Marco!"
A couple minutes ago, Naruto and Marco watch the magical girl run over to Janna before they hear a voice behind them. "Hey, Marco, Naruto." They turned to see Jackie as she approached them on her skateboard, "Marco, can we talk alone for a moment?" She glanced at the blonde and he took the hint right away.
"Oh, I'm going to check something inside this box over there." Naruto walked over to a small box, opening it right away. He know the skater is going to ask Marco out and he also know that the brunette will say yes, which he did by the look of wide toothy grin on his face.
"Ok, see you later!" Jackie waved goodbye to Marco before she skate away and Naruto walk over to the brunette's side.
"Marco!" Star ran up to the boys, "Naruto! Marco! Naruto!"
"Squeeeee!" Marco turned to the couple with frozen smiling face.
"Are you okay?" The magical girl asked worriedly.
"Jackie Lynn Thomas just asked me to the dance, and I said yes!" The Latino teenager thrust his fists up in air.
"This is perfect!" Star gasped happily, "I totally forgot that I promised Janna that I'd resurrect a dead clown with her tonight so you should totally totally totally go with Jackie."
"Wait, what about Naruto?" Marco turned to the said teenager.
"It's cool, Star and I danced often." Naruto waved it off, "Missing one school dance is not really a big deal. Plus, I can use this chance to work more on my runic project."
"…You're not going to this séance?" The Latino teenager asked.
"…Fuck no." The mixed teenager shivered.
"Naruto really don't like ghosts as much as me with clowns." The magical girl rubbed her shivering boyfriend's arm gently to sooth him, "It's okay, Naruto, it's okay."
'…Wait, you're scared of clowns and yet you're going to summon a ghost of a clown?!' Marco stared at her blankly, 'And Naruto have a fear of ghosts?!'
At Diaz's household, Naruto follow Janna and Star into the bathroom and the mixed teenager hold his snicker back when he see Marco chant to himself in towels before the Latino teenager trip over Janna. "What the heck?" Marco quickly get up.
"Watch where you're going, Marco!" Janna shot him a glare.
"Janna!" The Latino teenager stuttered, "Wha-wha-what are you doing here?"
"We just need a few more supplies for our séance tonight." Star replied at his other side.
"And I'm here to collect some blackmail materials on you." Naruto took a picture of his brunette friend with a snicker, "What will everyone say about you wearing towels like that?"
"Dude!" Marco shot him a dirty glare before he smell himself, "Ugh! Now my backside smells like cologne." The mischievous girl suddenly slapped his ass, "HEY!"
"Ain't nothin' wrong with that!" The mischievous girl smirked flirty before she take a sniff, "It's nice."
"Yeah, it's nice." Star took a whiff.
"I agree, what brand did you use?" The mixed teenager did couple sniffs.
"Stop smelling me!" Marco flailing his arms around with a shriek before he pant heavily until the teenagers hear a ringing doorbell, "Oh my gosh she's here! Uh uh…Okay okay" He ran into the shower before he step out, "Uh, what am i doing? Where's my…Where's my room?" His friends pointed out the door, "Oh yeah, uh…" He exit the bathroom and the teenagers stare at the door before Star turn to them.
"Wanna say hi to Jackie?" The magical girl asked.
"Jackie?" Janna blinked in surprise before she quickly put a face on, "Okay." They head down the stairs.
"I'll get it!" Angie ran over excitingly to the front door.
"Me too, me too, me too…" Star almost fall down the stairs but her boyfriend caught her right away, "Thanks, Naruto!" She gave him a quick peck on cheek before she jump over to the door, "Me too!" They open the door together before they gasp in awe at the sight of Jackie in her dress.
"Oh, hey Angie, hey Star." Jackie smiled at them.
"Come on in." Mrs. Diaz welcomed her in.
"Oh my gosh, you look like the ocean." The magical girl gushed.
"Yeah, you look pretty nice." Naruto smiled, "Marco's one lucky bloke."
"Thanks." The skater laughed before she notice the mischievous girl, "Hey, Janna."
"Hey." Janna replied curtly, shining flashlight on her own face.
"Hi, Jackie." Everyone looked up the stairs to see Marco in a neat suit.
"He look quite dapper." The mixed teenager whispered to his girlfriend.
"Yeah, Jackie's one lucky girl." Star smiled up to him before she notice that Janna was staring at Marco lovingly, which the mischievous girl drop it when she glance sideway at Jackie as the skater stare at her date lovingly. 'Did I just imagine it?'
"Ay, mi'jo!" Rafael sniffled emotionally with his wife, their little boy is growing up.
"You look amazing." Marco said to Jackie as soon as he reach the floor.
"Heh, you too." The skater giggled.
"A plus!" The Latino teenager held a double thumb-up as his date snicker at his dorky comment, "Um…Sorry."
"Oh, Star!" Rafael grabbed the blonde couple's shoulders, "Um, please take a photo of my handsome son and his beautiful date."
"Sure!" Star whipped her mirror phone out with a wide grin, "Smile, you two!" At same time, Naruto also took his phone out to take a picture since he wasn't sure if his girlfriend's magical phone can send pictures to regular phones. They took couple pictures before Marco and Jackie left the house to go to the dance and Janna peek out as she closed the door then stare at it blankly.
"Do you need help looking for items for your seance?" Naruto asked his girlfriend.
"Nah, I think we're good." Star smiled up to him.
"Alright, have fun at your Bon Bon seance." The mixed teenager gave her a smile, "Give me a call if something come up."
"Will do." The magical girl kissed him before she turn to her friend as Naruto went upstairs to his room to work on his runic seals, "Janna, ready to go?"
"…Huh?" Janna turned to her with a blink, "Oh. Yeah, let's go."
A car pull up in front of a graveyard before the girls get out as Janna's mother call out, "Bye, sweetie!"
"Come on, Janna, let's go!" Star skipped toward to the graveyard excitingly with her friend in tow and a spellbook break through the car's roof, causing the mischievous girl's mother to scream out in shock. The magical girl yelp out when it drop in front of her.
"So where's this ghost?" Glossaryck popped out.
"Glossaryck?" The magical girl looked down at him, "What are you doing here?"
"Is that a joke?" The elder floated up with a flat look, "Dead clown seance!" The book float up under him, "Now lead the way!"
"Yes, it's this way!" Star pointed to the direction exictingly and the group walk down the trail as Janna turn her headlamp on while Glossaryck press his crystal to lit the path up.
"I like your natural headlamp, Glossaryck." Janna commented absentmindedly.
"It's not natural, but thank you." Glossaryck replied.
"I wonder if Bon Bon's skull still has the clown nose on it?" Star squealed.
"Oh, no way." The elder laughed, "Maggots would have eaten it by now."
"What do you mean?" The blonde asked him as they step through the gate with bent bars.
"Real clowns wear meat nose." Glossaryck relied and it took her few moments to make a realization.
"Ew!" Star shuddered, "No! I can't believe you!" She turned to her friend, "Janna, what do you think?"
"Don't you think it's weird that Marco asked you and Naruto to the dance and then totally changed his mind at the last minute?" Janna said, "That's like...That's like not cool, right?"
"What?" The blonde raised her eyebrow at Janna's uncharacteristic behavior, "No! Marco asked us because he was afraid to go alone until Jackie ask him out, which is totally okay. I want to go to see Bon Bon…" She stared at her friend with a pause, "You do wanna see Bon Bon, don't you?"
"Oh!" The mischievous girl seems to snap out from whatever funk she was in, "Yeah, yeah, Bon Bon…" The blonde girl suddenly trip down, "Oh, Star, are you alright?"
"Yea…" Star looked up to a tombstone covered by vines, "Guys, check it out!" She clear the vines away to reveal Bon Bon's tombstone as the group gasped before she read it out loud, "I will come back." She squealed together with Janna, "It's Bon Bon!"
A small explosive went off in the house, causing both Rafael and Angie to jumped up from the couch before they look up to the ceiling questioningly and worried. "MY BAD!" Naruto's voice hollered, "NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!" The adults swear they hear a noise of extinguisher then there was a short pause, "OH, BLOODY HELL! Maybe I'll cover this damage up with paint?"
"Everything okay up there, Naruto?" Rafael called out.
"Yeah, yeah, it's all hunky-dory!" The teenager's voice called back as the adults exchange looks, "No need to come up!"
"Um, Naruto, would you like to join us downstairs?" Angie called out, "We're watching Pirates of the Caribbean."
"The first one!" Her husband inputted with expanded index finger.
"Alright, I'll be down in a bit!" Naruto replied, he think it'll be good time to take a little break from his latest project and when he walk down the stairs, he receive a text from Marco. In text, his friend was panicking that Jackie is taking him out on a date instead of going to dance and he have no idea what to do. "Take it easy. All you have to do just to be yourself and don't overthink it too much." The muttering blonde texted back before he put his phone away as he sit down on a comfy chair, "How far are we into this movie?"
"It just started." The woman smiled kindly, "You don't miss anything."
"I'm going to make popcorns." Rafael lightly jogged to the kitchen.
"How's school?" Angie asked the blonde.
"Good, I have been keeping up with most of my classes." The blonde said, "Had a couple issues with English class, due to some difference with American English, and there's math but it's no sweat."
"And do you like here?" She asked.
"The USA?" Naruto said, "I'm enjoying it so far."
"I mean do you like it here?" Angie said, "In our house?"
"Um, yes?" The blonde blinked oddly at her question, "I enjoy staying here because it feel very homely and comfortable. You and Rafael really make me and Star feel very welcoming here all the time. Anyone else would say the same thing…Why do you ask?"
"Just curious." She shrugged her shoulders lightly and he stare at her oddly for a bit until Rafael return with two bowls of popcorn.
"Popcorns!" The bulky man put the bowls down on table with a wide grin, taking seat next to his wife and they watch the movie.
"Bon Bon the Birthday Clown." Glossaryck sing out loud as he play a guitar, "First he was dead. Maybe he's alive. Does he have a nose? Maggots in his eyes."
"DONE!" Star stepped back from the shrine around Bon Bon's tombstone with a proud grin, "If that don't say welcome back, dead clown. Nothing does." She turned to her friend, "Janna, how's the summoning circle go?" Her grin turn into a flat line as she notice that Janna was staring at half-completed circle, made out of tapes. "Hey, Janna?"
"Wha…?" Janna looked up to her.
"Um, the summoning circle?" The blonde gestured to the said circle, "How's it coming?"
"It's, uh…" The mischievous girl tear some tapes out to put them on the circle, "It's coming swimmingly…" She accidentally knock a candle over, "Ugh, it's not…" She exhaled sharply, "Sorry, sorry. My head's not on right today…"
"Take your time." Star said, "It's still nighttime."
"As long as we're all just sittin' here chillin'…" Janna glanced at her friends, "Would it be cool if I got your guys' opinion on something?"
"Marco?" The blonde guessed.
"What?" The mischievous girl stuttered, "Nooooo…Yeeesss. Could you please just tell me what you think of this one thing?"
"What?" Star arched her brow.
"Okay, do you ever think it's weird that things are going well for Marco?" Janna said, "Like, too well. I mean, why do Jackie start to like him and ask him out when…"
"Hey, Star, Star, Star." Glossaryck hollered.
"Yes?" The blonde turned to him as the mischievous girl looked very annoying by the interruption, "What's up?"
"Are…" The elder pointed to a certain page, "You gonna use this?"
"What is it?" Star asked.
"I don't know." Glossaryck glanced at it, "It's like a…Spell. There's a…Little drawing of a rat or something."
"Uh, we're kinda in the middle of something." Janna cut in.
"So I can do whatever I…" The elder said.
"Yeah, yeah, do whatever you want wi…" The blonde said before the elder tear the page out, burning it right away to warm his hands. "Ooookay." She turned back to her friend, "Um, let's talk about it later, okay? Can we just focus on the summoning circle now?"
"Yes, circle time…" The mischievous girl starts to work on the summoning circle with little discomfort.
Some time have passed and Star decide to give a call to her boyfriend while Janna continue to work on the circle at slow pace. "…Yeah, I like to try playing a video game with you." Star smiled before she glance over her shoulder at the mischievous girl then whisper into her phone, "Hey…Is it me or do you think Janna is acting…A little weird than usual?"
"Oh, you noticed it too?" Naruto's voice said, "I think it start when Jackie asked Marco out to a movie a while ago. Do you think Janna have something for him or…?"
"I don't know." The blonde whispered back, "Maybe? If she like him, why don't she say or do something about it?"
"Okay, I'm done!" Janna announced.
"Oh, I gotta go now." Star said quickly, "Talk to you later!"
"Later." Her boyfriend replied, "Have fun!" The call ended.
"Okay, now what?" The blonde jogged over to her friend's side.
"We wait." The mischievous girl replied and there was a very long silence in the graveyard.
'…Ugh, I should have gone to that stupid dance with Naruto instead of sitting around and wait.' Star quickly become bored before she jump up when her friend release an furious scream.
"WHY AREN'T YOU PICKING UP?" Janna threw her phone away.
"…W-W-Were you trying to call Marco?" The bewildered blonde asked.
"Hey!" The mischievous girl walked over to the spell book before she open it as the snoring elder lie on a page, "Glossaryck! Wake up. Hey, do you have any spying spell in there? What's the name of that spying spell?"
"Oh!" Glossaryck muttered half-sleeping, "The All-Seeing Eye…Um…You're talking about."
"Where is it?" Janna asked.
"Um, why do we need spying spell for?" Star asked a bit nervous, she hope it's not what she think it is going to be.
"That would be, eh…" The elder muttered, "That would be in Eclipsa's chapter." The mischievous girl turned the pages, "Oh wait, wait wait! Uh…" He yawned, "You don't wanna go there."
"Maybe we should listen to him…?" The blonde muttered.
"E-E-E-Eclipsa…" Glossaryck muttered sleepily, "Dark magic. It's not nice…To…Spy on people." S-S-Spying leads to…Crying." He fall asleep.
"Aha, found it!" The mischievous girl turned the opening book to the magical girl, "All-Seeing Eye. Can you please…"
"No, I think I know what you're going to ask and I'm not comfortable with that." Star held her hand up to her.
"Come on, please!" Janna pleaded, "Just this once? We should check on Marco and see how it's going for them. I've never ask you for anything with your magic until now."
"…F-F-Fine…" The blonde uttered after few minutes of staring contest, "Just this once."
"Yes!" The mischievous girl grinned widely, "I owe you one!"
"Yeah, yeah, let me see…" Star read the page with some mumble before she kneel down, holding her wand up with both hands as she closed her eyes. "I summon the All-Seeing Eye. To tear a hole into the sky." The wand glowing along with the summoning circle, "Reveal to me that which is hidden. Unveil to me what is forbidden." Her wand shot a purple beam up in air before it create an magical portal, showing Marco and Jackie enjoying skating on her skateboard. Star take a sideway glance at Janna to see that she look upset at the sight.
"Hehe, don't worry!" Jackie held Marco after he almost lost his balance, "I've got you!" Janna become more upset when they look at each other with affection and she growl deadly before the portal cut off as soon as the couple trip over a rock.
"H-H-HEY!" Janna turned to the magical girl with a glare.
"Sorry, t-there's a time limit." The magical girl held her hands up, "A-And it's my first time using this spell so…"
"Ugh!" The mischievous girl turned around with a groan.
"…Um, do you want to talk about it…?" Star asked concerning before she yelp when Janna sharply turn to face her with a deep scowl.
"All the time, all the damn time!" Janna shouted, "I've been dropping hints that I like him for years, even if some wasn't so subtle! But noooo! It's always 'Jackie, Jackie, Jackie' with him and he never look at my way, not even once! ARGH! THIS BASTARD! What does she have that I don't have?! What's so great about Jackie?! I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE LIKE HIM BACK! W-What…" Her head hanged down with welling-up tears, "W-What about me?"
"Um…" The blonde wringed her wand before she gently pull Janna into a hug, "It's, um, going to be okay."
"I'm not sure about that…" The mischievous girl tried her best not to shed tears before they notice some big rats running past and the candles' fires went out.
"It's happening!" Star gasped before a figure appear on top of tombstone in shadow as the candles lit up once again, "Bon Bon, you're back!" The figure reveal to be Ludo in clown outfit, "Huh?"
"Ooh!" Janna winced, "That explosion did a real number on your face."
"Surprise!" Ludo tore the clown nose off his face with a evil grin as Spider and Eagle make their appearance by taking a couple sidesteps out from behind the tombstone.
"Ludo?" The blonde gasped, "Janna, call Naruto!" She need backup since she can't handle them all at same time.
"Miss me, princess?" The grinning kappa pull his wand out, firing a beam at her.
Naruto stretch his arms out as he finished up with some bomb tags until his phone rang rapidly and he check it, a call from Janna. "Yes?" He answered it, "What's up, did someth…"
"Some guy, Ludo, is attacking us with giant spider and bird at graveyard…" Janna's voice speak rapidly, "OH FUCK! GIANT RATS! RATS! GET AWAY FROM ME!" The call cut off and the blonde bolt out of his room with his weapons and tools.
At same time, Marco was enjoying his first kiss with Jackie and they break apart with smiles and lovely glints in their eyes until he get something funny in his gut. "Marco, is everything okay?" Jackie asked.
"Um, I don't know." Marco replied, "I have a funny feeling in his gut, like something's off?" He decided to check his phone to see many missing calls from Janna and Star. "We have to find Star and Janna!"
Naruto was first to reach the graveyard and the first thing he see is a giant portal that try to suck Ludo inside before an ghost suddenly appear. "I'm back!" The ghost of Bon Bon smiled brightly, "Just like my cand…" He screamed out as the portal suck him inside without any warning.
"No, please!" Ludo struggled against the vortex, "Please have mercy on me!" Star notice Naruto and she quickly point at Janna, who need help with the swarming rats. Naruto gave her a quick nod before he jump to the mischievous girl's side, kicking several rats away.
"Did Ludo sic these rats on you?" Naruto asked Janna, summon rasengan to send more rats flying in air.
"I don't know!" Janna hit a random rat with hairdryer and she notice Marco appearing…With Jackie and in this moment, she lost her grip on her weapon. The hairdryer slip out of her hand and it hit Star's back, causing her to lost her focus as her wand fire a green blast before the purple portal turn green and it start to sucking Star in.
"STAR!" The mixed teenager quickly ran over to grab his girlfriend's hand then he dug his feet into the ground as they slowly skid toward to the portal, "I GET YOU!" Jackie spot Janna getting cornering by rats and she skate over to help her while Marco tried to help them but Spider jump into his way.
"Aww!" Ludo gloated at the blonde couple, "Looks like you need more help, princess!" He fired beam at the ground near them.
"What do you want with me?!" Star shouted at the kappa.
"You think I'm here for you." The kappa chuckled evilly, "Ah, so selfish. HA!" He snapped his fingers, "Fetch!" The giant eagle grab the spell book with its berks.
"My spell book?!" The magical girl gasped.
"Yes." Ludo's grin widened, "I figured it'd be okay if I took it, seeing how you probably not going to need it where you're going! Haha! Just like the humans say, destroying you will be easy as pie."
"Star!" Naruto gestured to her right with his eyes and she look over to see the cake.
"I think you mean piece of cake!" Star grabbed the cake then threw it at the kappa, hitting him.
"Ugh!" Ludo wiped some off his face, "You will pay for…" The candles on his head lit up, "I'M ON FIRE!" He ran around with a scream, "I'M ON FIRE! PUT ME OUT! PUT ME OUT!" Eagle grabbed the kappa then whacks him around to put the fire out, "Great job…Fetch Spider! We have what we want!" The giant eagle quickly fetch Spider from Marco.
"Huh?" The Latino teenager blinked in surprise and the spider fetch the spell book and Ludo with her web. "No! No! No! No!" He was about to give a chase until the kappa speak up.
"You really want to waste precious time chasing me?" Ludo pointed past the teenager, "I mean look!" The brunette looked back to see that the blonde couple was slowly getting close to the portal.
"Naruto, Star!" Marco gasped as the laughing kappa escape with his minions and the book. The Latino teenager quickly put his arms around Naruto's waist.
"Marco!" Naruto hollered, "Don't worry about us! Go get Ludo!"
"Marco, let go!" Star hollered, "You're gonna get pull in with us!"
"I'm not letting go of you two!" Marco shouted and Jackie quickly grab him, Janna take hold of the skater as they tried to pull everyone away from the portal until it vanish as everyone tumble backward with some thuds. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I am." The mixed teenager looked down at his girlfriend worriedly, "Star?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." The magical girl groaned, "Thank to you all…"
"Jackie, are you okay?" Marco turned to his date, helping her up.
"Yeah, I'm great." Jackie smiled, "This is the funnest dance I've ever been to!"
"Yeah, well…" The Latino teenager muttered, "I mean…Yeah. We're…We're in a graveyard. So…"
"I can't believe…" Star looked at her wand in her hands with upsetting epxression, "Ludo took my spell book. It's got everything in it! That's my whole family history! All the spells.. everything! It's lost!"
"Hey, we'll get it back." Naruto tried to comfort her with a tight hug, "I promise you."
"I've lost Glossaryck." The magical girl cried in his chest.
"We'll get him back too." The mixed teenager rubbed her back gently, "I'm pretty sure he'll be fine. I hope." The magical girl kept crying in his arms.
It have been barely few hours when the trio get back from the graveyard in Diaz's household and Star dart around in her bedroom, stuffing many things into her pack while Marco sit on her bed with phone and Naruto check his supplies. "Static trap for this overgrown bird, one biggest Ryuka for this creepy-arse spider and thousand bombs to blow Ludo up for making my butterfly cry." Naruto muttered to himself.
"Uh-huh." Marco listened to Jackie on his phone, "Yeah. Yeah. Right. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Okay." A loud crash occur on Star's side, "Right. Y-You know what, Jackie? Can I…call you back?" He hang up before he looked at Star as she shove more items inside a large backpack, "Look, Star, this is a stressful situation, I get that. But would it kill you to slow down for a second? You're going kinda overboard." He picked a typewriter up along with a cup, "I mean, do you really need to pack this vintage laptop and this purple-y, bubbly tea thingy?"
"Marco, this 'laptop' is typewriter." Naruto deadpanned at him, "And we may will use it as blunt weapon to crack Ludo's skull."
"That's typewriter?" Marco looked at the object oddly, "Huh? Thought it look different." Star quickly snatch the items from the Latino teenager to put them inside the pack, "Star, why don't you try some breathing exercises?"
"I don't have time to breathe." Star said darkly with deep voice as she struggled to lift her heavy large backpack, "I can't waste a…Sec…Ond!" She collapse under the weight, flailing her limbs with a yelp, "Don't help me! I am a strong, independent warrior princess!" Naruto walked over then seal the backpack into his scroll. "…Oh, I should have ask you that in first place."
"That's one fast change of mind right there." The Latino teenager deadpanned before he walk toward to the mirror behind the curtains, "At the very least, you should give your mom a call." He pulled the curtains apart, "Someone has to fill her in."
"No-no-no!" She slide in between the brunette and the mirror, "You cannot call my mother. She'd kill me if she found out about this. Ludo stole my book! He…He took Glossaryck! I made this mess. And I'm gonna be the one who cleans it up."
"Naruto, talk some sense into her!" Marco turned to the said teenager.
"Sorry, I'm with her." Naruto held his hand up to the groaning brunette and Star take her scissor out.
In Buff Frog's house, Buff Frog was reading a story to his children. "And so, brave Sir Croakian banished the wicked Mewmans from the land." Buff Frog spoke, "From that day on, the monsters had all the corn they could eat." A dimensional portal suddenly appear and Star fall out on her face, causing the tadpoles to jump around before the boys step out from the portal.
"You okay?" Naruto lifted his girlfriend up.
"Yeah." Star groaned, "Thanks." Her gaze shift to the frog monster, "Buff Frog, I need to know where Ludo's hiding. I think he's planning something big."
"Yes, I know." Buff Frog lifted his hand up, "Did you not get my letters?"
"Letters?" Star took an paper out as it show illegible letters with some crude drawings, "You mean these? I thought the babies were sending us fan art."
"Seriously, who writes warning notes in crayon?" Marco lifted his hands up.
"Oh, so I not go to school for learn fancy handwriting." The frog monster glared at the brunette, "Sorry!" He get up to get a map then unroll it across on table, "I make this map when I infiltrate Ludo's lair. I mark secret entrance here."
"Thank you, Buff Frog!" The magical girl picked the map up, "This is exactly what we need!" She ran out of the monster's house and the boys follow her.
"Good luck, be safe!" Buff Frog hollered from the front door with a wave.
A punk squirrel girl leaning against the rocky wall with a bear monster near the entrance and they look bored until the squirrel girl notice something in the distance. "Huh?" She squirted her eyes, something turn out to be Star, Naruto and Marco riding a warnicorn and the squirrel girl didn't bat a eyelash when the magical girl blast the bear monster down with a battle cry as the warnicorn storm into the cave. "…Huh." The squirrel girl merely shrugs her shoulders uncaringly.
Inside the cave, Star knock the metal chute loose before the teenagers jump inside, sliding down to the bottom and Naruto kick the door open to reveal bunch of monsters with weapons. "Huh?" The monsters uttered.
"FIRST BLOOD!" Naruto thrust a piece of paper toward to the monsters and it launch a large air bullet that send all screaming monsters flying in all directions.
"Cupcake blast!" Star fired some lasers at screaming monsters as Marco attack several other monsters with karate moves, "Tiara Tornado!" She jumped up in air with a spin, shooting sharp crowns everywhere.
"BURN!" Naruto put a pair of red gloves then launch several fireballs at the screaming monsters from his gloves, "YES! IT WORK! IT WORK! BURN, MUPPETS, BURN!" His gloves lit up and the laughing blonde start beat some crying monsters up with flaming fists.
"Stardust Daisy Devastation!" The magical girl blasted the rest of monsters away with an explosive spell and she pick a dwarf up by his beard. "Where's Ludo?!"
"W-Who-do?" The dwarf moaned.
"Don't you play dumb with me." Star barked, "I know he's here!"
"Hey, guys, I know it's lame, but we gotta make a chore chart or something." An elephant monster walked out in towel with shower cap and brush, "That shower is grody" He paused to stare at the groaning bruised monsters, "Oh, no. Violence."
"Okay, what is going on here?" The magical girl becomes confused.
"We're not, like, fighting monsters." The bird girl replied, "We're 'alternative' monsters."
"Alternative?" Naruto raised his eyebrow while still holding a groaning rat monster up by collar, his left flaming fist still corked back. "As in…"
"Lovers, not fighters…" The rat sobbed.
"Then what's up with all the weapons?" Marco lifted axes and spears up questioningly.
"We found them here when we moved in." The weasel girl stretched her tattered shirt out, "They're perfect for tearing fashionable holes in clothes." A mole monster stretched Marco's hoodie out before the weasel girl poke a hole in with a spear, "You're one of us now, dude."
"Man, that was my favorite hoodie." The Latino teenager whined.
The teenagers explore the rest of the mine for a while before Marco speak his mind, "This place really is abandoned."
"Not really." Naruto replied, "The monsters are occupying it so it's not abandoned."
"This was all a waste of time." Star groaned, "Oh, poor Glossaryck. Who knows what horrible things Ludo's doing to him?"
"Well, you tried." The Latino teenager lifted his hands up, "And now we can both agree it's time to call your mom for…"
"For the last time, Marco, we're not calling my mom!" The magical girl stomped her foot down.
"Whoa, hey!" Marco waved his arms nervously as she crossed her arms with her nose up in air, "Calm down. You're not seeing the situation clearly."
"Seeing clearly?" Star blinked before she gasp out loudly, "…That's it. I'll use the spying spell!"
"Spying spell?" Naruto blinked before he give her a teasing smirk, "Oh, I hope you're not using it to spy on me in shower."
"No, I don't!" The magical girl blushed with waving arms before she placed index finger on her chin, "…But the thought of using it for that…Kinda kinky."
"But again, lately, we take showers tog…" The mixed teenager chuckled.
"Since when do you know a spying spell?" Marco cut in to save his poor sanity before he sharply turn his head to Naruto, "Wait, did you almost admit that you two have been taking showers together?! Please don't tell me…"
"Since I learned it." Star looked a little guilty, "A while ago. You weren't there." She pushed the boys through the door, "And I need to do it alone. No distractions!" She stepped back in a room, slamming the door on them.
"Nice jeans, dude." An yak-like monster held a jean up from a basket tub, "Can I dye them for you?"
"Hard pass." The Latino teenager refused and the creature turned his head to Naruto.
"Sorry, maybe next time." Naruto waved his hand.
"Aw, no one want me to do it…" The sulking creature wandered off and the teenagers trade glances before they decide to peek inside. They see Star in front of a mirror-like portal as it show the principal watering some plants.
"No!' Star changed the locations to show Tom cutting his toenails with saw, "Ugh! NO!" She change the location again to see Naruto and Marco peeking on her in a loop before her head sharply turn to the boys with a stern look, "Naruto! Marco!"
"Sorry!" Both boys closed the door right away.
"…How long do you think it will take?" Marco turned to his friend.
"About five minutes, I bet." Naruto shrugged his shoulders and they wait for a while until they hear a hard thud before they quickly barge inside out of concern to see the girl lying on ground. "Star?!" They ran over to the panting magical girl, "What happened?"
"Are you okay?" The Latino teenager asked her as Naruto help her up to her feet.
"Yeah, my hand's fine." Star rubbed her right arm.
"That's not what I meant." Marco said.
"Well, Glossaryck is no longer on the team." The magical girl sighed.
"I never really saw Glossaryck as a 'team player' anyway." The Latino teenager shrugged.
"Oh, my gosh." The teenagers turned to see the elephant and bear monster as the elephant monster squealed, "It is her. We just realized you're Star Butterfly! We're your biggest fans!" They ran up to her then bow before her.
"Um, I think you're confused." Star pointed out to them, "Monsters hate me."
"Not Buff Frog and me." Naruto whispered to her, receiving a nod in return.
"Well, sure, it's not popular to like you, but we're not about that." Elephant replied.
"Yeah!" Bear grinned widely, "You're the rebel princess!"
"Rebel princess?" The magical girl blinked.
"Yeah!" The bear monster said, "You do things your own way! Like us!"
"Please, shoot us with a spell!" The elephant monster raised his hands up, "Rip some awesome holes in our jeans! Something!"
"Um, I guess I could cast something." Star shrugged, "How about…Super Strawberry Shake Quake?" She hit the monsters with strawberry magic beam.
"Wow!" Bear laughed as he sit up with some bruises, "That is awesome!"
"Look at this sweet rip!" Elephant pointed to his jean.
"Let's go show the guys!" The bear monster got up with his friend.
"Dude, I can't believe we met Star Butterfly!" The laughing elephant monster ran out with Bear.
"So, what now?" Marco asked the girl as she looked at her wand.
"Now…" Star sighed resignedly, "I call mom."
"So…" The magical girl shifted her weight nervously in her bedroom while the boys sit nearly as her parents stand still on her mirror after she told them about Ludo, "That's pretty much it." The parents stare at her in shock, "Oh, no, this is really bad, huh? I messed up!" She tried to hide her face with her bangs, "I really messed this one up! I am so sorry, Mommy and Daddy!" Her parent looked at each other then back to their daughter.
"Uhh…" River uttered.
"Sweetie, it's…" Moon muttered, "It's okay."
"But the book of spells!" Star peeked out under her hair, "Our-our-our family history! It's all gone!"
"Don't worry." The king shrugged with closed eyes, "It's just a book and a little magic man."
"What matters is you're safe." The queen said.
"But isn't there anything I can do?" The princess asked.
"Don't 'do' anything." Moon shook her head slightly, "We'll handle this. You just sit tight."
"Good night, sweetie." River said before they end the call and the magical girl stare at her reflection.
"Whoa." Marco stood up with a whistle, "That went way better than I expected."
"Thought they were going to ground you there." Naruto added.
"Uh…" Star nodded in daze, "Yeah, I guess so."
"You know, you should just take your parents' advice and sit tight." The Latino teenager said.
"Right." She muttered.
"Good night." Marco left the room to go to sleep.
"…You're not going to listen to them, are you?" Naruto slide inside Star's bed, it's funny that their friend never bother to wonder why the mixed teenager was already in his pajama.
"Rebel princess doesn't sit tight." The magical girl took a notebook then sit down on floor, "Rebel princess does things her own way. Mega Narwhal Blast!" Her wand launch a Narwhal and it flop around. "Oh. Mega…Narwhal…Blast…" She spin the top part of her wand off to reveal an fountain pen with golden ink and she write something down into her notebook. "Chapter one…Mega Narwhal Blast."
"Don't stay up all night, okay?" Naruto yawned.
"I won't." Star replied without looking up from her notebook, "Want me to turn lights off for you?"
"Nah, thank." He pulled a pillow over his head and he fall asleep. "Good night."
"Good night." She said, focusing on her notebook.
"So the party magician turn out to be an joy-sucking wizard and Star end up 'ruining' the party, yet save everyone while this wizard get away?" Naruto raised his eyebrow at Marco as they climb the stairs with tray of foods, "…Not going to lie but that sound like you're talking rubbish. Wizard that suck joy out of everyone? Pfft!"
"It actually happened!" Marco groaned, "You should have been there to believe it!"
"Sorry, but I'm not going to some party that is throwing for a guy who might be in midlife crisis and surrounding himself with teenagers and young kids." Naruto shook his head.
"…Dude, phrase." The Latino teenager said, "You make it sound so creepy…And so wrong." They open Star's door, "Food's ready."
"Is that a black hole?" The mixed teenager pointed up to the ceiling as a black hole shrinks then vanish in thin air.
"Great!" Star ran past them with laser puppies in her arms, "Put it on the table!"
"Whoa." Marco looked around at Star's bedroom, "Why is your room so clean?"
"I have to make a good impression." The magical girl took the sword away from laser puppies, "Not a chew toy." She shove it inside the chest, "I'm not ready. I'm not ready! I can't believe this is happening!" She gave the chest wings with her magic and it fly out through her window.
"Ready for what?" The Latino teenager asked.
"I'm being e-v-a-l-u-a-t-e-d." Star spelled it out.
"Evaluated for what?" Naruto blinked.
"Wait, why are we spelling words instead of saying them?" Marco raised his eyebrow.
"Yeah, it sounded kinda weird when it came out of my mouth." The magical girl replied, "Anyway, my mom is sending someone to see how far along in my magic training I am since I got to Earth. Heh-heh."
"Ah, you have nothing to worry about after all." The mixed teenager said, "You have been using magic since day one."
"Yeah, that doesn't sound so bad." The Latino teenager nodded.
"But if I fail, I could get sent back to Mewni." Star revealed.
"What?!" Marco gaped.
"Look like I'm moving to Mewni." Naruto shrugged as they looked at him, "What? Star isn't going to get rid of me this easy."
"I could say same back at you." The magical girl smiled before she speak up again, "Anyway… Which is why I need to clean and Marco, you need to cook. Naruto, help him." Before the boys can make any response, the black cloud suddenly enter though the window with strong winds then it swirl around in the center of the room until it clear away to reveal a white small cat-like creature with wings and blue gem on forehead. "It's her!"
"Hello." The cat creature greeted.
"Awww!" The teenagers cooed at the creature's cute appearance.
"I'm here to evaluate a one Star Butterfly." The creature brought a clipboard out with pen.
"I'm a one Star Butterfly." Star spoke up with a wide smile, "And you must be Baby."
"Oh!" Baby noticed the foods on table, "Food!"
"Yes, I prepared this spread for you, Miss Baby." Marco gestured to the foods with pride, "Please help yourself to any…" Baby consume it all in a single blink with her mist form.
"More, please." The creature turned back to her cat form with a cute smile.
"That took me all day to make…" The stunned Latino teenager grumbled.
"Pleeeeaaaase?" Star pleaded.
"Come on, Marco." Naruto applied headlock on his friend, dragging him out of the room.
"I would love to make you more." Marco grumbled back to Baby and the boys head down to the kitchen. "Go get me those…" He gave the blonde the list of ingredients and Naruto fetch each items from refrigerator and cupboards while the brunette take some pans and tools out once again. After a while, Marco slide the tray of drinks over to his friend. "Naruto, go bring it upstairs."
"Sure." Naruto picked the tray up then head upstairs to Star's room and he see Baby opening Star's notebook, a large amount of glitters fall down.
"Huh." Baby muttered, "Interesting."
"Yeah, isn't it pretty?" Star said with a opening smile, "I only used, like, five pounds of glitter."
"Refreshments, anyone?" Naruto called out to get their attention and before he know it, the cat creature drink all of the cups and she even ate the cups. He quietly lean closer to his girlfriend, "How is it going?"
"Interesting?" The magical girl muttered unsurely.
"…Is it bad interesting or good interesting?" He asked.
"I don't know." Star shooed him, "But go get more food."
"Yes, your majesty." Naruto left the room as his girlfriend shot him a pouting glare and he return to the kitchen.
"That was fast." Marco glanced at him over his shoulder, "How's it going up there?"
"I don't know." The blonde shrugged unsurely, "I think Baby is just looking around first before they can do a magic exam." The boys continue to make some foods for a while until something drip down in front of the Latino teenager and they look up to the ceiling.
"Wet ceiling?" The Latino teenager stared at the ceiling as it drip waters.
"Maybe you get a leaky pipe up there or it's Star using one of her water spell?" Naruto assumed.
"…I bet the latter." Marco put the sandwiches on a tray then carry it upstairs, "I'm gonna check on them."
"Okay." The blonde poured the corn chips out in a bowl from bag before he jump up when a monstrous voice shout loudly.
"GET OUT!" It sound like Baby to Naruto as he blinked up at the ceiling and he can hear a slamming door, following by rapid footsteps.
"Bat! Bat!" Marco ran downstairs, "Where's the bat?!" He found it in the corner, "AH!"
"Did something happened up there?" Naruto quickly slip his battle gloves on.
"I don't fucking know!" The Latino teenager cried as they ran upstairs, "Baby suddenly turn to me with this scary face and yell at me for no reason!" They slowly open the door to witness an giant tree growing from halved apple.
"Woah." The mixed teenager blinked as his friend drop his jaw along with his bat and the tree continue to grow to an immense size, one of its branch drop an fresh apple into Baby's hands as soon as she reach the window.
"…It's perfect." Baby stared at the shiny apple.
"Does that mean she pass?" Naruto asked and the creature look at Star before they share a smile. The creature turn into the black cloud, quickly ate Marco's sandwiches then flew out of the house to wherever she come from.
"I know you'd do great." Marco breathed out in relief.
"Way to go, Star." The mixed teenager smiled at her.
"Thanks, guys!" Star hugged them with a relieved sigh.
Two days after Star's evaluation, the said girl was firing beams at flying tennis balls as Naruto lazily toss the balls up in air and the couple was half-cuddling. "Pshew!" Star kept missed her shots with one closed eye, "Pshew! I'll get you, tennis ball. Pshew! Pshew!"
"Hey, can I borrow your dimensional scissors for a second?" Marco poked inside.
"Yeah, sure." The magical girl tossed him the said scissor as she kept shooting at balls, "Whatever."
"Thanks." The Latino teenager caught it before he left.
"…What do you think he want scissor for?" Naruto asked, tossing another ball up in air.
"Dunno." Star finally hit a ball, "Yes! One kiss!" They share a kiss that last for a moment before she break it apart, "Ball!" Her chuckling boyfriend toss another ball up in air and she fire her wand again.
"Aw, dang it!" The magical girl groaned, lying half-off her bed upside down, after she accidentally blow a hole out of her wall.
"At least we can fix…" Naruto said until…
"Good boy, Joffrey." The teenagers turned to the unfamiliar voice to see a complete stranger leading a dog up to Star's couch and the dog barely lift its hind leg up.
"Whoa, whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa!" Star rolled up onto her feet before she swing her wand at the strangers' direction, "Rainbow Diaper Blast!" The dog now wear a diaper, "Not cool, bub!"
"How the fuck did you get in here?" Naruto leaped up with a glare, "Talk or I'll…"
"Take it easy, man!" The stranger sweated heavily, "This new dog park is really confusing!"
"Dog park?" The magical girl blinked owlishly before she smack her forehead, "Oh, Marco!"
"Tosser, does that place look like a dog park to you?" The mixed teenager deadpanned at the stranger and the dog walker take a good look at his surrounding.
"Um…Yes?" The stranger answered dumbly and Naruto turn his head to look at his girlfriend with flat face.
"You can punch him for trying to make this dog pee on my stuff then toss them out." Star answered his unasked question and her boyfriend turn to the sweating walker with a evil smirk.
"…Easy on the face?" The stranger chuckled nervously before Naruto punched him in jaw hard, "OW! I DESERVE IT!" An scream escape his lip when the mixed teenager toss him out through the hole in wall along with the dog, "AND THAT!" The couple quickly heads straight to Marco's bedroom before the magical girl kick it open.
"Why did you m…?!" The magical girl yelled until she went quiet as they stare at the portals around the bed, "Oh, no. He's gone scissor-happy."
"Scissor-happy, that's a thing?" Naruto looked at her with rapid blinks.
"Oh, yeah." Star nodded, "It was coined by Hekapoo when one guy went ape-crazy that he almost cause many portals into one biggest portal that nearly destroy all life because he want all shortcuts in one place."
"Yikes." The mixed teenager whistled.
"Yup, yikes." The magical girl poke her upper body through a portal before she step back as the laser puppies return from their 'walk' with yips and firing lasers. She see a orange portal, "Oh, Marco, Marco, Marco. Oh!...Oh, this does not bode well. Naruto, do me a favor and close the blue portals?"
"Sure." Naruto took his scissor out and walk over to the portals as his girlfriend decides to make a call to someone.
"Hey, girl. I'm doing my cardio." Pony Head spoke through the hand-mirror phone, "Okay, hold up. I'm gonna put it on an incline." There was a short pause, "Okay, girl, what's good?"
"Okay, so Marco opened a bunch of portals with my scissors, and one of them looks like this." Star showed her friend the orange portal.
"Oh, snap! That's bad!" The floating head's voice gasped.
"Yeah, that's what I thought." The magical girl agreed.
"That red portal is Hekapoo's." Pony Head said nervously, "You need to get away from it, and if she asks, you do not tell her you got those scissors from me, okay?"
"Wait." Star furrowed her brows, "I thought Hekapoo gave you those scissors."
"I mean, yeah." The floating head shrugged her nonexistence shoulders, "She left the scissors in the bathroom at the Bounce Lounge, and, um, what happened then was, uh, I took them. So yeah, basically, they're mine."
"What?" The magical girl shook her head, "No, Pony, that's stealing."
"Uh, I'm pretty sure that's called finding." Pony Head scoffed.
"Naruto?" Star looked at the said teenager, "Back me up here?"
"Definitely stealing, not finding." Naruto closed the last blue portal.
"He's just saying that because he's your boyfriend and you already fu…" The floating head huffed.
"Okay, so is Marco in trouble?" The magical girl cut her friend off with a wave.
"You know what?" Pony Head took a sip of her drink, "He's probably dead. That Hekapoo chick is crazy, man."
"Oh, boy…" Star sighed, "All right, I'll talk to you later, girl." She flashed a peace sign to her best friend before she hang up, "Bye-eee!" She turned to the orange portal, "We're coming, Marco."
"We get a plan or we're gonna wing it like usual?" Naruto put his gloves on then check his pockets to make sure he have enough seal papers and weapons.
"The usual!" She replied before the couple jump into the portal and the first thing they see is a giant door. "Dibs!" Star quickly kicks the door open and they see a red-haired woman in front of a muscular man. "Hekapoo, where's Marco?" Star aimed her wand at the redhead angrily.
"I call dibs on this wanker." Naruto crackled his fist toward the muscular man.
"Star!" The man gasped happily, "Naruto!" He ran up to pull them into a bear hug before the teenagers push him away.
"Unhand us, weirdo stranger!" Star turned her wand on the man with a glare, "How do you know our names?"
"It's me, Marco!" The man showed them the red tattered hoodie, "See?"
"…Marco?" Both blondes blinked up at him.
"Oh, man!" Marco laughed happily, "We have so much to catch up on! I've learned how to sword fight, I fought an army of wolf-bears…"
"Man, Jackie will be one happy girl." Star turned to her boyfriend as the Latino man rambled on.
"That's if she don't mind the age gap between them…" Naruto hummed, "Is it permanent or not?" His girlfriend just shrugs her shoulders unsurely.
"I rode in a hot air balloon, and then I jet-skied off a waterfall!" The Latino man grinned, "Isn't that cool? Oh, check it out!" He showed them his new scissor, "It took me sixteen years, but I totally earned these scissors."
"W-W-Wait." The magical girl blinked at him, "Sixteen years? You've been gone from Earth for, like…" She looked at her boyfriend.
"Eight minutes, I believe." The mixed teenager hummed thoughtfully, "Maybe twelve minutes or more?"
"…Eight minutes?!" Marco stuttered in shock before his gaze snapped to Hekapoo with annoyed look.
"Yeah, I forgot to tell you that time passes differently in this dimension." Hekapoo buffed her nails with a smirk, "Not sorry."
"No, no, no, no." Star waved her hands to calm Marco down before he can freak out, "This is good. It means you haven't missed anything back on Earth. Come on. Use your new scissors to take us home."
"Yeah, about that…" The Latino man scratched his head sheepishly, "I don't think I'm coming back. Turns out I really like my new life here. I got my sword, my dragon-cycle." He pointed to his living dragon-cycle, "I get to ride around all day and go on adventures whenever I want. It's the journey, you know?"
"Yeah, that dragon-cycle is pretty dope…" She looked at the dragon-cycle in awe before she shake her head, "No! Wait, wait! What about your parents or your friends…Or…" She gestured to herself and Naruto, "Us?
"What about Jackie?" Naruto added.
"…WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING?!" Marco's eyes snapped wide.
"…Really, all it take to change his mind is just mention Jackie?" Star turned to deadpanned at her boyfriend as their friend freak out.
"W-W-Wait, let me have my moment with Nachos?" The man kneel to say his tender good-bye to his dragon-cycle.
"Of course it's Nachos." The mixed teenager deadpanned and Marco looks at Hekapoo.
"Don't look at me." The redhead smirked, "Those scissors are yours now. You can come back here any time you want."
"Please." Marco cut the portal before he hug his dragon-cycle, "Take care of Nachos while I'm gone."
"She's in good hands." Hekapoo smiled
"Adios, boo-boo." The Latino man kissed Nachos on the snout before he turn to Hekapoo, "Well, old friend, you really gave me a run for my money."
"Likewise." The redhead smirked with fist on her hip, "You're pretty cool." She suddenly smacked the back of Marco's head.
"Thanks." Marco smiled at her.
"Bye, nice to meet you." Naruto jumped through the portal.
"Bye!" Star waved to the forger before she jump inside and Marco follow after them.
"Later, H-Poo!" The man hollered.
"Don't call me that!" Hekapoo hollered after him.
Naruto and Star find themselves back in Marco's bedroom and they turn to see Marco jump out of the portal…And back in his teenage age with oversized clothes.
"NO!" Marco screamed in disbelief, "My hot bod! Where did it go?!"
"Back to the future." Naruto joked.
"Squish!" Star teased the Latino teenager by pressing his pudgy stomach.
"Stop it!" Marco covered his stomach with embarrassing blush and he become very confuse when Naruto suddenly laugh out loud at him with tears in his eyes.
"I guess you're back on Earth's timeline now." The magical girl giggled, "But look on the bright side. You still have your bald spot."
"Seriously?!" The Latino teenager threw his hands up, "That's the thing that stayed the same?!"
"You got the mark of Hekapoo, son!" Hekapoo pop out halfway from the portal with gesturing arms as she laughed at him before she retreat back through it, "Okay, bye-bye." The portal vanish and the Latino teenager glare at the empty space in disappointment.
"Hey, who cares if you're fourteen again?" Star tried to cheer him up, "That just means we have more time to go on adventures together. Especially now that you have your own scissors."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Marco sighed out.
"Of course I am." She walked out, "Now I'm gonna go make us some nachos."
"I'll help with the cheeses." Naruto followed her out.
"…Oh!" Star groaned when they walked down the stairs.
"What's up?" The mixed teenager turned his head slightly to her.
"I just realized that I now have no scissor of my own." Star pouted with slumped shoulders, "That sucks."
"Oh, right." Naruto rubbed his chin with a hum and an idea come to him.
Later at night, Star was getting ready to go to bed before a portal pop up at right side and she quickly turn to see Naruto step out. "Oh, hi, where did you go?" Star smiled at him as she pull the blanket back.
"Quest Buy." Naruto answered as he held something behind his back, "Can you hold your hands out, please?"
"Sure." The magical girl cupped her hands, wondering if he bought something for her. Her boyfriend place a small thin gift box in her hands. "Oooh, present! What is it? What is it? Can I open it? Can I open it?"
"Yes, you can." He chuckled as she rip the wrapper eagerly before she remove the lid.
"…Naruto!" Star gasped, "I-Is that…" Her eyes grow big and shiny as she slowly lift a scissor up. It have rainbow butterfly wings-like handle, blue star gem and her name in an elegant font. "Dimensional scissor?"
"Yes, it's your dimensional scissor." Naruto grinned.
"Y-Y-You bought me a dimensional scissor?" She looked up to him as he nodded, "…That is the best gift you ever get me!" She put the scissor on drawer before she suddenly tackle her yelping boyfriend down, starting makeout with him on spot. "Put the damn silence tags up now!"
"Ok…" He grinned before the door suddenly kick open.
"NO, I HEARD THAT!" Marco screamed with flailing arms and squirted-closed eyes.
"COCKBLOCKER!" Both blondes cried out exhaustingly.
One week later, Naruto carefully apply some runic seals onto a gray vest and suddenly, an loud wail startle him as he accidentally draw across the line before the vest burst up in fire, which he immediately put it out. "Huh?" Naruto walk out into the hallway as he follow the sound of wail until he stop in front of his girlfriend's bedroom and he open it with a light knock. "Everything okay in…" He paused to see Pony Head wailing into pillow as Star stare awkwardly, "What happened?" He walked up to Star's side.
"I don't know." Star replied.
"HYAH-CHA!" Marco jumped in through the door with a karate pose, "I heard screaming…" He paused to stare at the wailing head, "Oh. It's Pony Head. What, did she run out of rainbow toothpaste again?"
"Yeah, probably." The magical girl lifted her hand up with a hum, "Whatever it is, we'll go through it together."
"Okay, I'll tell you." Pony Head whimpered before she whip her face around with runny mascara, "I am ready to reveal…" She sniffled, "The Bounce Lounge…Is closing." Star suddenly wail so loud that it crack her mirror, shattering every glass unicorns and more glasses in the house.
The magical girl drop onto her knees then bury her crying face in her bedsheets, "The Bounce…Lounge…Is closing?!"
"I know!" Pony Head sobbed.
"Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves." Marco said as Star threw herself on Naruto's chest while Pony Head throw her face onto the brunette's shoulder, "It's probably not even closing. I mean, since when has Pony Head been right about anything?"
"Oh, yeah." Star looked up with snotty nose.
One quick trip to Bounce Lounge and the teenagers stare at the floating sign that say Bounce Lounge is closing with a name under it, Milly Sparkles. "It's closing." Marco said."
"I just…" Star gaped, "I can't believe it."
"Believe it!" A echoing voice said and a large light beam down on the teenagers from above before they look up to see a glittery woman on cloud-chair with blue fan covering half of her face as the music play in background.
"Oh, my goodness!" Pony Head gasped.
"It's Milly Sparkles." Star gasped, looking awestruck before the girls bowed down to the woman, "My liege." She pulled the boys down, "Boys, it is the owner of the Bounce Lounge."
"The Bounce Lounge is indeed closing." Milly spoke, "The party is over."
"But why, Milly?" The magical girl asked.
"Because business has been slow." The owner explained, "No one comes to party here anymore. Fare thee well, loyal partiers. And may the Bounce Lounge be with you…" The chair raise her back up to the sky and into clouds, "Always." The girls stare up at the cloud sadly and the brunette walk up to a picture board with Naruto.
"Wow, you girls used to party here a lot." Marco commented.
"And it looks like you have been here since you were little." Naruto hummed and the girls walk up to the board.
"Hey, Pony, look!" Star pointed at a picture with a joyful gasp. The picture show preteen Star and Pony Head with colorful BFF text.
"It's us!" Pony Head smiled.
"Aww!" The magical girl grinned happily at her best friend, "Besties!"
"Mm-mmm!" The floating head noticed a picture, "And there's our junior prom night!" The second picture shows the girls as young teenagers with acnes and braces and it have a large blue 'Dance Night' text.
"Uh, yeah…" Star winced, "I'm actually trying to forget that."
"Nope, I'm not going to let you forget that." Naruto quickly snatch the picture with a teasing smirk, "You look so adorable with short hair and braces…"
"NARUTO!" The magical girl stomped her foot down childishly with heavy blush, "Gimme the photo!"
"Never!" The mixed teenager held the picture high above his head with laughter as his girlfriend jump around, trying to grab her embarrassing picture.
"OMG!" Pony Head gasped loudly as she grabbed Star's attention, "That is a classic!" She pointed at a picture of the girls with their friends, "'Cause that is the old Bounce Crew, girl!"
"We used to rule this place." Star smiled fondly at the crew picture.
"Nobody partied harder than we did." The floating head chuckled.
"Man, where did the time go?" The magical girl sighed with doe eyes.
"Actually, time doesn't go anywhere." Marco commented, "Sometimes things just end, and there's nothing we can do but accept it."
"Please be quiet, because Star and I are trying to have a life moment!" Pony Head glared at the Latino teenager annoyingly.
"We haven't been here for so long." Star said sadly, "I can't help but feel like this is our fault."
"And now a part of our life is gone forever." The floating head choked on her sobs.
"Unless…" The magical girl took the crew photo off the board, "…We get the old Bounce Crew back together!"
"Oh, girl!" Pony Head neighed.
"Naruto, we don't know when Milly will close Bounce Lounge so…" Star turned to her boyfriend, "Do whatever you can to stall the closing! We're gonna save Bounce Lounge!"
"Get it." Naruto gave her a thumb-up before the group went through the portal and he look around at the empty club then up to the clouds. "Um, are you up there, Milly?"
"Yes." The owner's voice echoed, "And don't bother, I'm going to closed Bounce Lounge tonight. This club cost me a lot of money and a wild party can't pay a mortgage."
"What are you going to do with this place?" He asked curiously, "Raze it to ground? Sell it? What?"
"Selling it." Milly's voice replied, "So far there isn't any buyer yet…And don't think about asking me to sell you Bounce Lounge. A child, like you, can't afford it or know how to run a business."
"Yeah, want to bet?" Naruto crossed his arms, "Tell me the price and talk business. You can test me all you want."
"…Fiiiine." Milly decided to humor this stupid child for once as an small cloud appear in front of the teenager, "Why don't you take a step into my office?"
Star and the crew return to the Bounce Lounge two hours later and they were greeting by the sight of party. "Wha…?" Marco looked puzzlingly by the whole thing.
"Alright!" Star pumped her fists up, "They must heard about Bounce Lounge closing and come to party hard to save it!"
"Marco, man the vendor!" Pony Head send the Latino teenager fly into the booth.
"Hey!" Marco sit up to glare at the floating head before he get hit by dollar bills from an exciting faun girl as she ran inside with some green hair-like creature, "HEY!" The party grows wild and everyone have more fun, even the Latino teenager does when he was forced to join the dance.
"We did it!" Star cheered with everyone, "The Bounce Lounge lives forever! Now let's party!" She paused as she looked around, "Wait, where's Naruto?"
"Star, wait." Everyone looked up to see Milly coming down, "Thank you, all of you, for what you've done. But I've been partying for over five thousand years." She remove her sunglasses and fan to reveal her winkled elderly face, causing everyone to cried out in shock as her chair turn into a motor scooter. "I just really need to stop partying. Like, right now."
"Aww!" Pony Head floated higher, "If this is the last night of the Bounce Lounge, let's make it the best night ever!"
"No!" Milly announced, "I sold Bounce Lounge already."
"What, to who?!" Star gasped in shock, "Please don't tell me that the buyer is gonna turn it into something not-Bounce Lounge…"
"Milly, the wire just went through." Naruto suddenly walked up to the elderly owner as he tapped something down on his phone then show it to her for confirmation, "Pleasure doing business with you."
"Him, he's now the owner of Bounce Lounge." The now-former owner gestured to the mixed teenager after checked her magical phone.
"Wait, what?!" Almost everyone cried in surprise.
"Wow, Naruto, that's great!" The magical girl glomped her boyfriend, "I can't believe you just saved Bounce Lounge!"
"Wait, I'm confused!" Marco lifted his hand up with raised eyebrow, "How the heck can you afford to buy a club? Do you know how to run business?! How did you manage to convince her to sell you the building?"
"Well, inheritances, allowances and few lotteries I won back home when I was young." Naruto shrugged his shoulders lightly, "Buying this place barely put a dent in my account."
"Lottery…?" The Latino teenager pulled his phone out to look something up.
"And for the business sense…" The mixed teenager scoffed, "Before he died, my father want me to be an businessman so he put me through many business courses because he want me to have a good and easy life and provide for my family. One of very, very, very few good things he did before…You know?"
"…YOU HAVE THIS MUCH OF MONEY?!" Marco's head snapped up from the news with widened eyes and dropped jaw, "WHAT THE FUCK?!" He turned the screen around to face Naruto, "WHAT. THE. FUCK?!"
"Oh, they're off by two zeros." Naruto looked closer before he look up to his friend, "How do you think I paid for everything I got? The stuffs from Quest Buy? The foods?"
"…Now I'm thinking about it…" The Latino teenager muttered slowly.
"After some discussions, I find myself to be very satisfied to leave Bounce Lounge in his hands and I don't care whatever he does with it because…" Milly rode off into the sky on her flying scooter, "I'm out of here! Adios, biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitchs!"
"We saved Bounce Lounge!" Star climbed onto Naruto's shoulders, "WOO-HOO!" She bend her upper body down to stare into her boyfriend's eyes, "Naruto! Let's party until morning!"
"Yeah!" The mixed teenager grinned foxy before he point sharply at the DJ, "Drop the new playlist!" The DJ start playing many new songs and the party resume with loud cheers as everyone dance to their hearts' contents.
"FIREWORK LASER-SHOW BLAST!" The magical girl shot firework show up in the sky with her wand along with the colorful lasers before she jump off her boyfriend.
"Would my cute butterfly care for a dance?" Naruto held his hand out to her with a wide grin.
"I'll love to!" Star grabbed his hand and they start to dance together, enjoying every moment of it.
It was very late when Star sit up in the bed the next night and she was about to slip out of bed until she feel the mattress shifting. "Star?" The said girl turned to stare at Naruto as he roll over onto his side with sleepy expression.
"I'm going down to steal Marco's cereal." Star run her hand through his hair with a smile, "Go back to sleep."
"Mm, okay." Naruto returned to his sleep, "Hurry back…It's getting cold…Without you." He snored away, making the magical girl to giggle at him before she quietly sneak out of Naruto's bedroom and she make a quick check on Marco to make sure he's still asleep. Star tiptoe toward to the stairs and she smile to herself as she think about her new sleeping habit. She have start to sleeping with Naruto almost every night because it feel so comfortable to share bed together and for some reason, she feel restless when she sleep by herself. Sometime they sleep in her room and other times in his room. Star suspect that Naruto feel the same way because he never ask about their sleeping arrangement.
'Should I ask him about it later?' She wondered as she enter the kitchen, never notice the crystal creature hiding poorly.
Naruto rub his eyes sleepily, walking to the kitchen as he grumbled about alarm clock and he hear a shout before he look inside to see Marco swing his arms around. "Star, what happened?" Marco cried, "You were in this ice cube. And there was this big guy, and he had a big square head!"
"What a funny dream, Marco." Star shoved some cereal into the brunette's mouth with a laughter before she notice her boyfriend, "Morning, sleepyhead."
"Morning, Star." Naruto yawned as he went to get a ramen cup, preparing it.
"Blech!" The brunette spit some cereal out, "Were these on the floor?"
"Now are you convinced that parking meters aren't filled with candy?" Marco said to Star as the trio walk down the sidewalk.
"And all it took sixty-seven parking meters to do." Naruto chuckled.
"Ugh, it's all just a big tease." Star crossed her arms, "How was I supposed to know…" She stopped in her trail as soon as she see a red car on top of a blue crushed car, "…Oooh."
"Okay, that was not like that before." The Latino teenager muttered.
"Um, guys, over there." The mixed teenager pointed to the front door and the teenagers see that it have been sawed in half then put back together shabby.
"Okay, here's the plan." The magical girl turned to the boys, "I'll cover the back door, Naruto'll take the second floor through my window and on my mark, you bum rush the front door."
"Got it." Naruto rushed to the wall then climbed up into Star's room from the balcony.
"Got it!" Marco moved to the front door and the blonde girl ran around the house until she reach the back door. The teenagers count to three before they leap into action from three different directions in battle stance, only to blink in confusion when they see Rafael and Angie sitting with a dirty old woman and a short man with hatchback.
"Marco?" Angie gasped.
"You!" The old woman glared.
"You!" The Latino teenager glared back, "Star, get her!"
"Narwhal Blast!" Star launched a narwhal and it pin the hatchback henchman to the floor.
"Hiii-yah!" Marco tackled the screaming old woman down.
"Yeah!" The magical girl pumped her fist up as Naruto punched the screaming henchman's face, "Get him! Get him!"
"What did you do to my parents?!" The Latino teenager demanded, holding the old woman in headlock.
"Unhand me, you little…" The old woman screamed.
"Stop!" Rafael stood up with his wife, "Marco, let go of that poor old woman!"
"Wait!" Marco turned to his parents, "You're mad at us?"
"We're trying to save you guys!" Star said.
"We let her in." The bulky man waggled his index finger at them, "You three are being very rude."
"Star, put away your magical whale." Angie put hands on her hips, "Naruto, get off him.
"Fiiiine." Naruto slowly get off the henchman before he whisper so low that the henchman can hear him, "Make one funny move, tosser, and your face'll be grind off." The man whined.
"It's a narwhal." Star return the flopping creature back into her wand.
"You too, Marco." Rafael looked at his son sternly, "Let Miss Heinous go."
"But she's evil." Marco said.
"Now!" His father crossed his arms and his son release the old woman with a groan.
"Hmph." Heinous fixed her hair up as she got up to point at the brunette, "This is the princess who ruined my life. That's right, Princess Marco. I recognize you. Even with your super-cute new haircut."
"Huh?" Marco muttered.
"That's Miss Heinous?" Naruto turned to Star, receiving a nod.
"What is going on here?" Rafael asked the teenagers.
"This lady tied me to a chair and tried to brainwash me!" The Latino teenager pointed at the old woman.
"That's a gross exaggeration." The former headmistress walked to the chair with a huff, "Your child has terribly wronged me, and I'm not going anywhere until justice is served." She glanced at Naruto, "And who are you? You look awfully familiar."
"I'm Naruto, her boyfriend." Naruto jabbed his thumb to Star.
"Ah, I see." Heinous turned back to the adults, "Must have seen you on Pony Head's mirror, stupid pony princess."
"But if she doesn't leave…" Rafael turned to his wife with a gasp.
"…Then how are we gonna have dinner with…" Angie glanced to a picture frame with her husband, "The Morrisons?"
"Who?" Marco asked, that is the first time he heard of this name.
"The Morrisons are so cool." The mother replied, "We've been on the wait list to have them over for months."
"This dinner needs to be perfect." The father sweated nervously, "We can't mess it up."
"Wow. That sounds really tough, guys." The Latino teenager said sarcastically.
"You're gonna resolve whatever issue you have with Miss Heinous right now!" Angie narrowed her eyes at her son sternly as Heinous chuckled evilly before she give the old woman a cup of tea, "Here you go."
"Mmm." Heinous sipped the tea, "Thank you, your Highness."
"What exactly is your issue with Marco?" The mother asked politely.
"Gemini." The old woman snapped her finger before the henchman hand her a hand mirror as she project a slideshow of her former school, "Once, I was the headmistress of St. Olga's, the most esteemed princess school in the multiverse. It was a wonderful place where delinquent princesses were taught manners and respect. Until one day, an insolent princess showed up and inspired all the students to rebel against their elders who knew better. Princess Marco left, but the school was never the same. They made her the face of a revolution, even inspiring merchandise, influencing the next generation of young princesses with her devious ways."
"Wait a minute." Star glanced at Marco from the corner of her eyes, "You have merchandise?"
"Yeah." Marco nodded, "I get a six hundred and fifty dollars royalty check every month."
"I made more than that in a week with Bounce Lounge." Naruto snorted amusingly, "And Princess merchandise, huh? Wait until I tell Janna about that."
"Don't you dare." The Latino teenager hissed at him, this girl is going to embarrass him in front of everyone and he know it will happen because it's…Janna!
"As I was saying, my students lost all respect for authority." Heinous said, "Soon, they were cutting classes just to party, even inviting the boys from the neighboring prince reform school. They threw me out!" She turned the mirror off, "And now, I live in a car."
"Oh!" Rafael and Angie uttered in pity.
"Oh." Gemini put his hand on the old woman's shoulder.
"Don't touch me!" Heinous smacked his hand away annoyingly before she glare at the teenagers, "And it's all thanks to Princess Marco and her little sidekick, Princess Butterfly!"
"Marco, is this all true?" Angie asked her son.
"Well…" Marco raised his hands up, "Yeah, but that place was a prison! Those princesses were being oppressed! They're way happier now."
"And they blew up my bodyguard!" The old woman held an severed scaled arm.
"Yeah, we were wondering what that was." The brunette woman said before the adults yelp when the arm wriggling.
"This arm looks awfully familiar." Naruto raised his eyebrow at the wriggled arm.
"He's my dear, sweet Rasticore." Heinous petted the arm, "This is just his arm, but he's part lizard, so his whole body will grow back soon. And then he'll be a big boy, won't you, sweetie?" She kissed the arm as if it's her pet.
"Oh, that's my uncle's arm." The mixed teenager said nonchalantly, "And he's not part lizard, he's fully septarian."
"…Your uncle?" The old woman looked at him oddly.
"I'm half septarian from my father's side and Rasticore's his half-brother." Naruto replied, "And for the record, it wasn't us that blow him up. It was a Quest Buy 'friends to the end' gift card that zap Uncle Rasticore when it tried to kill us near its expiration date."
"Yes, we absolutely have nothing to do with it." Star nodded.
"Oh, it's quite lovely to meet you." Rafael said to the arm with his wife before they turn to the mixed teenager, "Um, can he hear us?"
"Yup." The mixed teenager nodded, "Just a little but not well." He paused as he turned back to the old woman, "Wait, you said bodyguard? Didn't you just hire my uncle to assassinate Star and Marco in first place?"
"…WHAT?!" Both adults sharply whipped their heads to the old woman.
"No, that was all him and it was completely pure miscommunication, which I deeply apologize for." Heinous threw her henchman under bus and it look like the Diaz parents believe her.
"So how shall we proceed, Miss Heinous?" Angie asked but she still have one suspicious eye on her.
"With a punishment commensurate with the crime." Heinous clenched her fist evilly, "How about we annihilate her and display her skeleton as a warning against any further insurrection? Agreed? Good. Now, Rasticore, bring me Princess Marco's bo…"
"No." Naruto cut her off, at same time halting the old woman from throwing his uncle's arm.
"Um, yeah, that seems a little extreme." Rafael scratched his head nervously.
"Honey, we really don't have time for this." His wife said, "The Morrisons are gonna be here soon, and we haven't even picked out the placemats!"
"Um!" The bulky man gulped, "What if we ground Marco for a week?"
"Or you let me grind her bones into a pulp." The old woman frowned at the stammering man.
"We won't let Marco play video games." Angie said.
"…Do you even play video games?" Naruto whispered to Marco, earning a small headshake.
"Do you even know how bargaining works?" Heinous asked annoyingly.
"No pizza on Fridays!" Rafael cried.
"Or you can let me disembowel her." The old woman growled.
"We make him do the dishes." The bulky man cried.
"That's not punishment because Marco love to do the dishes." Naruto pointed out.
"Oh, right." Rafael hummed.
"What if I just apologize?!" Marco yelled furiously.
"An apology." Heinous rubbed her hands together evilly with a chuckle, "Yes. An apology will suffice…Under certain conditions."
"Marco, you can't give up that easy." Star whispered to the said relieved boy.
"I'll do anything to get Heinous out of here." Marco whispered back before he turn back to the old woman, "Whatever you want, Miss Heinous, just name it."
"Think he'll regret it in few minutes?" Naruto leaned closer to his girlfriend to whisper into her ear.
"Oh, he definitely will." The magical girl said without batting a eyelash.
"Why did I say whatever you want?" Marco screamed as he wear a purple ballgown and long ponytail, holding a sign that read 'It IS Criminal to be an INDIVIDUAL' and his enemies were standing in front of him with video camera.
"It's finally happening!" Heinous laughed evilly, "Let's see what those princesses think of their idol now!"
"I can't believe our son led a revolution and we didn't even know." Rafael said.
"I'm not sure if I should be mad or proud." Angie admitted.
"You're taking Marco's crossdressing pretty well." Naruto said to the Diaz parents as his girlfriend walk over to apply some makeup on Marco, having a little private conversation about the princesses.
"We love our children unconditionally." The brunette woman replied, "If Marco decide to be a drag queen, we'll support him."
"Aw, that's so sweet." The mixed teenager said.
"Enough dilly-dallying." The old woman announced as Naruto turned to see Star give Marco a pat before she join him at his side, "Let's get on with it." She turned to the henchman, "Gemini, are you ready yet?"
"Yes, milady. And…" Gemini pushed the rec button, "We're rolling."
"Uh, hey, princesses of the multiverse." Marco spoke, "It's your girl Marco. What up?" He heard his parents quietly hurried him on, "Anyway, last time I was at St. Olga's school, I said and did some stuff that I shouldn't have. And that was…Bad. And, uh, I just wanted to say, um…" He glanced at the blonde couple then snapped his gaze back to the camera, "…I just wanted to say that I'm, like…" His voice now holds a sarcastic tone, "Super sorry that I told you guys to resist your oppressors and stuff. As princesses, we should never think for ourselves and just, you know…Give up on our dreams and our own individuality." Naruto stared at Heinous oddly as the old woman's eye twitched crazily, "Oh, I mean all this from the bottom of my heart. And I'm definitely not just saying that because Miss Heinous is threatening me and my family." The brunette winked, "Okay, was that good?"
"Ohhh…" The henchman stopped the recording, "Milady, I have notes."
"It's perfect." Heinous laughed crazily as she stoke Rasticore's arm, "Perfect!"
"Miss Heinous, we just want to apologize again for Marco's behavior." Rafael said sheepishly as his family and teenagers see Heinous' group out.
"Yes." Angie smiled sheepishly, "We hope this can be a fresh start for all of us."
"Hm." Heinous grunted as she get in the car, "We shall see. Maybe this will inspire you to take a more active role in your child's life."
"Can you give me my uncle back?" Naruto asked, pointing at the arm in the old woman's arms.
"NO!" The old woman laughed madly before the magical car fly off into the sky and through the portal as everyone stare up at the sky for few minutes while Marco's parents say their goodbyes to the disappearing car.
"…Honestly, that's not one of the most weirdest situations my uncle find himself in." The mixed teenager shrugged his shoulders lightly.
"Well, this was a real eye-opener." Rafael said as everyone walked back inside before he turn to the teenagers with fists on hips, "What else have you been hiding from us? Now is the time to own up to any other interdimensional chicanery." The teenagers share a short eye contacts.
"Oh, no-no-no-no!" Star replied, "No chicanery here!"
"All good." Marco said, "Nothing to report."
"Absolutely no interdimensional-wide prank spree going on." Naruto waved his hands.
"…Wait, what?" The Latino teenager whispered lowly to him.
"I think we have some responsibility to accept, too." Angie said, "Maybe we haven't been around enough for the two of them. We can start fresh tonight." She walked to the fireplace then take a board game as she face them with a wide smile, "I say we cancel dinner with the Morrisons and instead have a family game night."
"I'm in." Naruto grinned.
"Whoo-hoo!" The magical girl cheered with her arms up in air, "Game night! Let's get goin'!"
"That's a very good idea!" The bulky man grinned widely.
"Yeah!" Marco smiled, "Can I stay in this dress?" They gathered around the table to play the board game.
"Who needs to hang out with the Morrisons anyway?" Rafael laughed and no one notice the Morrisons walked away sadly outside.
"Yes, I just got the tickets." Naruto said on phone few days later as he clean the runic set off his desk with one free hand, "Me too, I'm exciting about it. Not because it's a concert of your favorite band, it's because we're going on date after a long time…" He chuckled, "Yes, yes, it've been a while…Ok, have fun helping Janna cleaning school up. Bye, love you…" He paused before he chuckle again, "Star, you have to tap the red button to end the call on your smartphone. Byeeeee!" He put the phone away with another chuckle and he finished putting his runic set away before a knock draw his attention.
"Naruto, may we come in?" Rafael opened the door while knocking it, his wife's right behind him.
"Sure." Naruto turned to the adults as they entered, "What's up?"
"We want to talk to you about something important." Angie said and the blonde just raised his eyebrow at them curiously.
Several days later in the night, the teenagers listen to a band's song while brushing their teeth. "Oh, man, the only thing cooler than these Love Sentence singing toothbrushes is the fact you got us tickets to see them tomorrow!" Marco said after he spit paste out in sink with others.
"Thank Star for asking me to get them." Naruto nudged his girlfriend with a smile.
"That's what friends are for!" Star leaned past her boyfriend to grin at Marco, "Plus, Love Sentence is like our thing."
"Aw, you would know." The Latino teenager smiled, "You're my best friend." He leave the bathroom.
"Good night, Marco." The magical girl waved at the said teenager's reflection before her smile become very slyly, "Sleep tight."
"…You're not going to tell him that Jackie's coming and that it's double date?" The mixed teenager glanced at her.
"Yup, it's a surprise." Star snickered.
"…That's my girl." Naruto snickered together with her.
In Naruto's bedroom, the blonde couple was making out lightly until Marco suddenly barge in with a scream. "STAR! NARUTO! DID YOU GET A TICKET FOR JACKIE TOO?!"
"You mean, you did." Naruto break apart from Star's lip as she pouted childishly for their makeout cut short.
"Wha…?" The Latino teenager dropped his jaw with widened eyes.
"Surprise!" Star giggled, "Aren't you excited, Marco? You guys are a thing now! The four of us are gonna be hanging out a lot. I don't want Jackie feeling left out 'cause I'm a supercool girl and Naruto's a supercool boy who are also your supercool best friend."
"Yeah, you two are." Marco groaned, "I'm just…I'm just worried that with you guys around, Jackie will realize I'm not as super-cool."
"I've dated before and now." The magical princess patted the Latino teenager's shoulder, "Trust me, you'll be fine."
"She's right." Naruto added, "And Jackie's not the one that really care about 'cool' status, just the personality."
"Fine." The groaning Latino teenager left the bedroom, "I'm going back to sleep."
"Yay!" Star wrapped her arms around Naruto's torso as she nuzzled her cheek on his chest, "This is gonna be awesome! Now, get them beauty sleeps."
"Yeah, it will be." Naruto kissed her forehead with a chuckle before he turn the lights off and they went to sleep.
Naruto hear a startled yelp when he walk down the stairs and he look over to discover that Star have scared Marco by appearing behind him. "Come on!" Star bounced eagerly, "Come-on-come-on-come-on! Jackie's gonna be here any minute!"
"I know…" Marco pulled hood over his face, "That's what I'm worried about."
"Oh, poor thing." The princess bend down to him, "I told you, there's nothing to worry about, right? We just want to make Jackie feel included in our fun times together."
"Yeah, I guess." The Latino teenager muttered.
"Come on, it'll be fine." Star lifted him up to his feet, "I promise. Now get dressed!" She skipped over to the front door with a humming tune.
"Uh, I am dressed." Marco gestured to his clothes puzzlingly, "Red hoodie. Jeans. That's pretty much dressed for me."
"Wait for it." Naruto smirked, causing his friend to growing more puzzled.
"Uh, no, you're not, 'cause I made concert tees!" Star laughed before she conjure up four t-shirts with her magic, now wearing one of the four shirts.
"Oh, man!" The Latino teenager gasped excitingly, "Love Sentence concert tees!"
"Handcrafted." The magical girl threw one shirt at Marco's face and another one at her boyfriend, which he caught then put it on right away.
"Correction, magic-crafted." The mixed teenager grinned and he chuckle out when his girlfriend swat his stomach with a cute pout.
"Perfect…" Marco stared at the tee shirt with sarcasm, it have picture of their faces with Jackie's and there is a large text, 'LS TOUR', on it.
"I know, right?" Star grinned, "Put it on!" The Latino teenager tried to put his t-shirt on…With a lot of struggles.
"L-L-Little tight…" The Latino teenager said straining.
"Yeah, it should, because you're trying to put it over your hoodie." Naruto deadpanned.
"What did you s-s-say?" Marco asked, unable to hear him clearly before they hear the doorbell ring.
"Jackie's here!" The magical girl ran to the door as the brunette start to panicking, tugging his shirt down many times and Naruto film him with his phone for funny blackmail. She open the door to see Jackie, "Hey, girlfriend!"
"No way!" Jackie noticed her shirt right away, "You made concert tees?"
"Oh, yeah." Star stretched her shirt out happily, "Check it out."
"That's so funny, 'cause I made concert skateboards!" The skater held three Love Sentence-themed skateboards, "Whoa!"
"No…" The magical girl's eyes grow big and shiny, "Way! I can't believe we had the same idea!"
"Great minds, am I right?" Jackie grinned.
"Trade!" Star sing it out as they trade the items and the skater toss another skateboard to Naruto.
"Thank, Jackie." The mixed teenager held his right hand up.
"So, where's Marco?" The skater gave Naruto a high-five.
"Oh, he's getting dressed." The princess pointed to the Latino teenager, who was still struggling with putting his shirt on.
"Hey, J-Jackie…" Marco panted.
"Hey, Marco." Jackie took her helmet off with a whip of her hair before the brunette finally put his shirt on as his cheeks pushed outward, due to tightness of its collar. "Nice shirt. Shows off your pecs.
"S-S-Skateboards, really?" The Latino teenager breathed out with strain as the skater gave him the last skateboard, "I thought we were taking the bus."
"Yeah!" Star put helmets on everyone, "Skateboards! It'll be fun!" She ran outside with her wand out, "Summoning Cloudy Charm!" She summoned the cloud creature before she jump onto it with skateboard up above her head, riding off with a loud cheer. "Love Sentence, here we come!"
"Look like I have another thing to teach Star about." Naruto chuckled at his girlfriend's antic as Jackie nodded with snickers and Marco just sighed heavily.
"Ooh-ooh!" Star snapped her fingers as she grinned at Jackie while they ride down the street, "I got one. How many times did Love Sentence break up before their fourth reunion tour?"
"Uh…" Jackie think for a bit, "Six, if you count the time they broke up on the morning of their second reunion tour and got back together after lunch."
"Yes!" The magical girl shot her a smug smirk, "Except it was before lunch, not after."
"No, it was totally after." The skater scoffed.
"Let's ask…" Star turned to Naruto.
"Marco." Jackie said with a light amused eyeroll, she know Naruto will side with Star and she look around. "…Where is Marco?"
"Right…" Marco wheezed from distance as he skated shakily with poor balance, "Behind…You!"
Wow…" The skater winced at him, "Maybe we should've taken the bus."
"No!" The Latino teenager choked out, "Can we just get to the concert?" He tried to skate ahead but…
"I get him." Naruto suddenly tossed the yelping brunette onto his shoulder, quickly flipped Marco's board up to grab it while skating. "Don't worry about him. He'll get better once we get there."
"Ugh…" Marco dangled limply with upset expression, which Jackie notice and she slow down to talk to the brunette gently.
"Marco, dude. Are you okay?" Jackie whispered.
"You, Star and Naruto should just go on without me." The Latino teenager whined, "You'll have more fun. I'll just be here ruining things, sucking at skateboards, slowly dying by a tight small shirt, and being so uncool."
"Dude, don't worry about the skateboard." The skater patted Marco's head, "It take a lot of practice to get good at skateboarding, remember? And I'm…I'm having fun with you."
"Really?" Marco wheezed out, "Even if I'm not cool?"
"Marco, you're cool in your own sweet way." Jackie smiled before she drop it with a worried look, "But we really need to get you out of this shirt. You're…You're turning a little blue there."
"I-Is it bad if my sight is fading?" The Latino teenager wheezed heavily with light blue face.
"Oh, oh, oh!" Star jumped up and down on Cloudy as she pointed at the stadium, "We're almost there! We're almost there! Hahahaha!"
"Yeah, but we have to cut Marco out of his shirt first." Naruto chuckled and Marco passed out.
"Here's our seats." Marco found their assigned seats, glad to be free from suffocating shirt as the stadium slowly getting packed.
"Great!" Star grinned, "Let's sit in order…Jackie, Marco, me, Naruto!" She quickly take the third seat, dragging her chuckling boyfriend onto the fourth seat and she shove the Latino teenager on the second seat.
"W-Wait a minute!" The widening-eyed Latino teenager squeaked and he blushed when Jackie sit down next to him with a cute smile. His heart is not ready for it!
"Do you know what songs they are going to play?" Naruto whispered to the magical girl.
"I don't know, they say they'll play about five to nine songs." She whispered back happily before they hear a voice.
"Excuse me, my seat is over th…Huh?!" They turned their heads to see Janna as she looked at them in surprise.
"Janna?" Marco blinked rapidly.
"No way!" Star gasped, "Did you get your hands on a ticket too?!"
"Yeah, I somehow got it from a raffle the other days." Janna eyed them.
"Where's your seat?" Naruto asked her.
"It's right next to you." The mischievous girl gestured to the empty seat next to the mixed teenager and he was about to move his legs back but…
"Scoot over, Naruto." Star eagerly bumped Naruto into the empty seat with her hip as she claim his seat and she pat her former seat. "Sit here, Janna!"
"Thanks." Janna sat down next to her and the magical girl feel very exciting to have most of her best friends and date together in one pl…
'Oh!' The magical girl realized that she made Janna sit next to Marco, who is with his date. "…Bullocks." She whispered quietly that only her boyfriend can hear her.
"just realized you screw up when you put Janna next to her crush, who is on date with his unofficial girlfriend?" The mixed teenager whispered to her.
"Yes, big time…" Star whispered sheepishly with some guilty tone before she look at him oddly, "Wait, you know about her crush…?"
"I have some suspicions." Naruto whispered back, "Should we do something about it or leave it alone for now?"
"Let's see how it turn out." The magical girl glanced at her friends, it look like they're fine…She think?
"Remain calm and shelter in place." The announcer spoke as the lights on prison-themed stage start to dim, "This is not a drill."
"It's starting!" Star wrapped her arms around Naruto's arm with a squeal as she bounced in her seat, like almost everyone else in the audience. "It'sstarting,it'sstarting,it'sstarting!" The 'prison wall' blast outward with smokes and it clear up to reveal Love Sentence band, causing many fans to cheer loudly.
"Hello, Echo Creek!" The leader of boy band smiled.
"Oh, my gosh!" Marco shrieked with hands on his cheeks, "Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! Such pageantry! I love it. I love it!"
"Straight out of the Echo Creek Penitentiary, I'm Justin Towers, and this one goes out to everyone who's 'just friends'." The leader announced before the band start to sing Just Friend song.
"Our second-favorite song!" Both Marco and Star squealed as Janna covered her ears with amused smirk.
"They're playing my favorite song!" Jackie grabbed the Latino teenager's hand as she stood up with a fist pump, "Whoo!" She started to dance to the beats, "Dance with me, Diaz!"
"O-Okay." Marco get up with a nervous chuckle and before he know it, Janna suddenly grab his another hand as the brunette looked confused for a moment before they dance together. Star and Naruto stood up to join their dance, the mixed teenager get a kick out of it when he watch his girlfriend lip-syncing the song to him. The song comes to end with an guitar solo and the couples in the audience share kisses.
"Does anyone have water spray?" Janna joked when she looked at Star and Naruto making out with each other and it was starting to heating up. "…Seriously, does anyone?" She turned her head to other side, "Marco, I bet you have o…" She stopped herself as she see Marco share a kiss with Jackie and she gasp softly in shock.
"..." The Latino teenager pulled away from Jackie as they looked into each other's eyes, "…Wow." He notice that Janna was missing and he look around to see the mischievous girl walking down to the front row before he went down to check on her.
"What happened?" Star break apart from her boyfriend, looking at her other friends with concern.
"Dunno." Naruto replied as Marco have a conversation with Janna before she urge him to go back with a tight smile and the Latino teenager return to the seat, kissing Jackie again. "Ah…I think I know what happened." The blonde couple glanced back to see the mischievous girl head to the exit with forced smile, "Star?"
"We should go check on her." The magical girl whispered before she turn to the Latino teenager and skater with a excuse, "Hey, Naruto and I are going to find some quiet and private place to make out." Marco and Jackie kept kissing each other, "…Okay. Bye!" The blonde couple quickly and quietly leaves the stadium and they almost immediately spot Janna trudging toward to the sidewalk. "Wait up, Janna!"
"Huh?" Janna turned to see her friends jogging toward her, "Guys? What are you two doing out here? The concert isn't over."
"It is for us." Star said once they reach her.
"And we prefer hanging out with you instead of listening to songs we've already heard." Naruto added.
"Um, why?" The mischievous girl crossed her arms with suspicious brow, "Is it because I'm upset about Marco and Jackie…" She paused to stared at the mixed teenager as soon as she realize her slip of tongue.
"I kind of figure it out when you got upset after Marco asked Jackie out to see a movie." He waved it off.
"Yeah, and I never told him about it." The magical girl said.
"…Ugh, was I that obvious lately?" Janna facepalmed.
"…Yes." Both blondes said after they share a quick look with each other.
"Fuck, now I want to change cities." The mischievous girl cussed under her breath.
"Hey, tell us how we can cheer you up." Naruto threw his arm around Janna's shoulders.
"Yup!" Star also threw her arm around her friend's shoulders on other side, "Wanna me to blow this billboard up?" She pointed to Love Sentence billboard before she hold her wand out to fire a green blast that blow the sign up, "TA-DA!"
"…Okay, that one was fun." Janna can't help but to chuckle lightly at the burning billboard before she glance between the blondes, "…Alright. How about we go on prank spree and blow some shits up?" The blondes cheered as the mischievous girl feel a little better before they run off into the dark to commit vandalisms.
Eggs and toilet papers were thrown around a certain house. "Egging and TPing the principle's house?" Janna grinned as her egg broke through the front window, "Nice! Nothing can beat the classics."
"Ha, yeah." Naruto chuckled as Star use magic to shot eggs at the house like machine gun, "We should go hit Brittney's house after."
"Oooh, that'll be awesome!" The mischievous girl laughed before she walk to sit down at the curbside and the blondes join her on both sides as they watch some huge colorful smokes reaching the starry night in many locations at distance, courtesy of Naruto's smokescreen pranks, while they listen to some screams and sirens in far distance.
"Feel better?" Star nudged her friend's shoulder with her own.
"Mmm, for now." Janna said, "But tomorrow, I'll be totally bummed out about Marco and might cry into tub of ice cream."
"Want some company?" The mixed teenager asked her and the mischievous girl glance between the blondes.
"…Yeah." The mischievous girl wrapped her arms around the blondes' necks then pull them in for a hug, "I'll like that." The blondes return her hug with their own and sudden, a huge pillar of paint shot upward in the distance with a bloodcurdling scream. "Finally!" They laughed at the paint prank that they just created together.
Two weeks later, Marco and Naruto was watching the television in the living room. "…Why is Star antsy lately?" The brunette asked as they heard some rapid pace from the second floor.
"A songstrel, hired by Star's mum, is coming to write a song about Star for the Song Day and she don't want to have Song Day." Naruto said.
"Song Day?" Marco raised his eyebrow at him, "…Like Birthday or…?"
"It's a Mewni holiday and a royal tradition." The blonde shrugged, "Each queens and crown princesses must have a song about themselves. That's all I know about."
"Oh." The Latino teenager turned back to the television, "Ok." They watch some shows until the doorbell rang and Star almost immediately answer the door to reveal young man with light brown hair in bard outfit.
"Ha-ha." Star said coyly, "The songstrel."
"Greetings, Princess Star!" The songstrel bowed, "I am Ruberiot." He played the lute as he sing a song to the magical girl's annoyance. "And may I just say! Though we have much to do! How much of a pleasure it is to meet you! I'll write you a…"
"Stop!" The annoyed magical girl grabbed the head of lute as Ruberiot stopped, "I get it." She pushed the bard inside and toward to the couch, "Come in."
"So, this shouldn't take too long." Ruberiot took a pad out with pencil as soon as he sat down next to Naruto, "I just want to get to know the real Star."
"Oh, how rude of me!" Star laughed, "I didn't even offer you anything. What can I get you? Water? Juice? Tea?"
"Ha." The bard smiled, "Well, if you have mint tea, that might be…"
"As a matter of fact, we do!" The magical girl cut him off, "Naruto is a member of the Tea of the Month Club, and I think we just got some super-special mint tea. Right, Naruto?" She ran into the kitchen, "Don't move!"
"Tea of the Month Club?" Marco asked his friend, flipping through channels.
"You yanks have your coffees and we have our tea." Naruto replied flatly.
"…Yeah, stupid question." The brunette changed channels again and they never notice that the magical girl has sneak out through the window on Cloudy.
Naruto's eyebrow twitched rapidly as Ruberiot kept singing while playing lute, "Where is Princess Star? Has she traveled far? I am very musically skilled. But if I don't write this, I'll surely be ki…" Naruto grab the lamp and he raise it above his head, ready to smashing it on the singing man's head but Marco quickly hold him back while holding onto the lamp.
"NO, NARUTO!" Marco screamed, "IT'S NOT WORTH IT! HE'S NOT WORTH IT!"
"LET ME GO!" Naruto screamed, "LET ME BASH THIS BLOODY WANKER! I CAN'T TAKE ANOTHER MINUTE OF…" The front door swing open and Star walked in with a sunhat, thick sunglass and a purse.
"You're back!" Everyone said to her.
"You're still here…" Star lifted her glasses up to stare at Ruberiot for a moment, "Well, goodbye." She turned around to walk out but…
"Please!" Ruberiot kneeled with clasped hands, "Princess! I have a job to do, and I can't leave until it's done."
"And I won't stay until you're gone." The magical girl huffed.
"But…" The songstrel stuttered, "What about your Song Day celebration? In just a day, the people of Mewni will be expecting us to perform the traditional Princess Song…"
"Ah-ah-ah-ah!" Star waved her hand, "I don't want to hear it, songstrel. If you don't leave right now, maybe I'll leave for good. Naruto, pack the bags! We're…"
"Hey, Star!" Marco stopped her, "Before you take Naruto and leave us alone again…For a very long time with no explanation. Could you help me make some more popcorn in the kitchen?" He dragged Naruto into the kitchen, "Kit-chen!" Star stomped into the kitchen while giving the bard a 'I'm watching you' gesture. "Please. Just do what he says. He's been singing at me for eight hours, asking where you are! Naruto was this close to bashing Ruberiot's head in with a lamp!"
"Should have let me do that." The mixed teenager crossed his arms with a grumble.
"Well, I'm sorry, but I don't want anything to do with Ruberiot and his stupid Princess Songs." The magical girl huffed before she hit the table with her face, "My mom's was so stupid and so fake and so old-fashioned. It's just not me."
"Star, we all know you're anything but ordinary and I love the way you are." Naruto rubbed her back.
"Awww!" Star hugged Naruto tightly, "Thanks, Naruto. Huuuugs! Kiiiiiiiss…" She was about to kiss him until she notice something ahead of them, "…He's…Uh…He's staring at us, isn't he?" The teenagers looked back to see that the bard was staring straight at them from the couch.
"Yup." Marco deadpanned.
"Want me to kick him out and give him a good old corncob prank?" The mixed teenager asked.
"No, I get this one." The magical girl huffed with fists on her hips, "Ru-ber-i-ot…If that even is your real name. You. Me. My room. Talk time." She walked up the stairs with the bard behind and the boys stare at the stairs for few minutes before the brunette turn to his friend.
"Back to TV?" The Latino teenager asked.
"Yup, but I get the clicker this time." Naruto walked to the couch, grabbing the remote controller and they sit down as they try to find something to watch. "What's up with you yanks and endless reruns?"
"Eh." Marco shrugged and it was like that for a while until Star quickly ran down the stairs.
"Guys, I'm going after Ruberiot, he ran out because I called him a hack!" Star cut the portal, "Be right back!" She jumped in.
"Ok." Both boys said boringly, their eyes glued to the changing channels.
The night have fall in Mewni as Star and Naruto walk toward to the royal seating box and the mixed teenager fidgeted with his white royal uniform. "This thing is too damn tight." Naruto tried to loose his collar, "I seriously wish I'm Marco right now because he don't have to come to that in a monkey suit. Lucky bastard."
"Sorry, I only can bring plus one and it's no brainer I chose you." Star giggled at his grumbling face before they reach the seating box as she spot her parents with magical council members, "Hey, everyone! Mom, hi!"
"Hello." Naruto greeted them politely.
"Oh, my gosh, I had the worst wardrobe malfunction." The princess gestured to her hairdo before she point to Naruto's shoulders, "Do you know how hard it is to find a decent shoulder tassel in an Earth mall? Oh. Hey." She pointed at her mother's hair, "You got a little thingy in your hair."
"A what?" Moon asked.
"A little…" Star pulled a twig out of her mother's hair, "Thingy-thing."
"Oh." The queen uttered.
"How'd that get there?" The princess asked curiously, pointing at stick.
"Thank you, dear." Moon said as she took the twig from her daughter, "…Star, I want to tell you something."
"I know it's not very princess-like to show up late, but did you see traffic on the Royal Mile?" Star threw her hands up annoyingly.
"Please, let me finish." The queen said, "I just want to say how…How proud I am of you."
"What?" The princess blinked rapidly at her mother.
"I know Princess Songs aren't exactly your cup of tea, and I know I can be…" Moon turned to her, "Hard on you sometimes, so it means a lot to me that you still went through with it."
"Thanks, Mom." Star said slowly as her mother take hold of her hand before she give her a sheepish smile, "But, uh…Just so you know, Ruby and me, we kinda changed some stuff. I mean, it's just not gonna sound exactly like your Princess Song did. So, you know, don't freak out or anything."
"Thank you for telling me, Star, but I trust your judgment." The queen said.
"Ohhhh, thank you!" The princess leaned back in her throne, "But we really went off-script. It's all good, but there might be, like…" The lights went out before the announce come up.
"And now, Mewni's newest court composer, the songstrel Ruberiot…" The announcer said as the audience applauded, "…In honor of the Royal Family." The spotlight appear on the Butterfly family.
"I really hope you like it." Star said before she sit down as her hand place on top of Naruto's hand out of nervousness, "I think I know you will, but I really hope you do."
"Presents the Star Butterfly's Princess Song!" The announcer said as a marionette of Star appear near Ruberiot on stage.
"Who is the maid with the buttercup hair?" Ruberiot played the lute while he sing the song, "Who sleeps on moonbeams and dances on air with tears made of honey and a heart full of bunnies whose infinite virtues are known near and far! It's Mewni's own sweetheart, our dear Princess Star and under the shimmer and rubies and pearls lies hidden a fierce and adventurous girl! The forces of evil that lurk in the night will cower in fear when this shooting Star…" He smashed the lute to gasping audience, "Ignites!" He tore his outfit apart to reveal a rock-like outfit before he pull an electric guitar as he start to play a rock song, "Weaving magic like a born spell-caster and wreaking havoc like a natural disaster! She rocks her Narwhal Blast and Warnicorn Stampede! She's gonna earn her crown, so hail to the Quee-e-e-en!" The audience start to cheer loudly, "'Cause she's a rebel princess, she's the best! She's a ball of lightning in a hot pink dress! She's a thunderstorm roaring through the night! She's our shooting Star, and she's lighting up the sky! Ooooh!"
"Yeah!" Rhombulus cheered, "That's my girl!"
"What a delightful little ditty!" Moon smiled, "Good job, Star!"
"Oh, yay." Star grinned with claps, "It's not over yet."
"Shooting Star shining in the night so bright, she started to attract a pair of envious eyes!" Ruberiot sang with slow beat, "The villain rose up from behind the jester's cross, she drove him away, but didn't know what she had lost! Glossaryck and her book of spells! How could she know Ludo would take 'em for himself? She confessed to her parents, all full of dread. The king and queen exchanged a look, and this is what they said, this is what they said, this is what they said…We will keep your silence for you from the citizens of Mewni and the High Commission too to keep the peace, we will play the game royal secret from royal shame! Royal secret from royal shame!"
"Star?" Moon turned to her daughter with widened eyes as most audience become shocked and alarmed by the revelation. Star only make an strained noise as she tighten her grip on Naruto's hand, the mixed teenager just gulped nervously. "Star."
"Mom, what did you expect?" Star tried to defended herself, "I told you I couldn't do some puff piece. I had to do what felt right for me." She sighed, "Look, it's over now, so we just gotta move on…" She noticed something, "Wait, what?"
"Royal secret! One last to tell!" Ruberiot sang as a marionette of Naruto appear on stage, "A princess keep a deep secret from her parents about her true love!"
"Star?" Naruto glanced at his girlfriend from the corner of his eyes, feeling very unease for some reason.
"I don't know!" Star whispered back worriedly as they tried to avoid the spotlight by leaning away, "Ruberiot never told me about this part!"
"Who is the boy in the earthly attire?" The bard sung, "The prince of the princess's deepest desire! It is revealed by the princess'…" He pulled out an familiar pink book to hold it above his head, "Keeper of secrets!"
"…MY DIARY!" The princess screamed in morbid, when did this songstrel snatch her diary without her knowledge?! How much did he read it?!
"Their love is forbidden but sweet!" Ruberiot sang, "Because her prince is a half-monster!" The queen gasp before she whip her head to Naruto as he gulped under her bewildered stare, "Not just any monster, he's a half septarian!" Moon's eyes widened farther, "Oh, such a beautiful fate it is for a princess to be in love with a natural enemy of Butterfly family! After all, his father…"
"Bullocks!" Naruto uttered before Star quickly pass her crown to him.
"Throw it!" Star urged him and her boyfriend quickly threw it down toward to the singing bard as hard as he can.
"Is Toffee, the one who…" Ruberiot sung before the tiara hit the back of his head, causing him to stop the song right away. "HEY! Who threw that?!" He glared up at the seating boxes, "You just ruined the greatest song of all time!"
"…Bullocks." Both blondes share a nervous glance with each other as the audience chattered confusingly and they don't want to look at the princess' parents to see their reactions.
"You're Toffee's son?!" Moon hissed in shock and she would say more but…
"Say what?!" A member of audience shouted, "The queen lied to us!"
"Well, technically, it was a lie by omission." The second member pointed out.
"Omitters!" The third member shouted with shaking fist before they throw the foods and drinks at the royal seating box with yells and boos, forcing the royal family and Magic High Commission to take shelter inside. The princess take a quick peek outside from the window before she turn back to her mother
"Mom!" Star cried, "I-I didn't realize this would happen! I thought they wanted to know the real Star Butterfly!"
"They don't, Star." The queen turned to her, "They just want to believe that you're a perfect little princess. And sometimes, the truth is dangerous." Her gaze shifted to Naruto with narrowed eyes, "And…"
"With all due respect, Moon, withholding information about Glossaryck and the spell book has put us all in danger!" Hekapoo cut the queen off with a glare and Lekmet bleated.
"Uh, y-yeah!" Rhombulus stuttered nervously, "Like the goat said!"
"I assure you, I had every intention of…" Moon defended.
"Every intention of what?!" The forger of scissors jabbed her finger in front of the queen's face.
"I had everything under control!" The queen shouted.
"How dare you hide something like that?!" Hekapoo shouted.
"I wasn't trying to hide anything!" Moon retorted and they kept arguing. No one notice that Star and Naruto sneak to the window before she summon Cloudy.
"Hey, Star!" Cloudy grinned, "Hey, Naruto!"
"H-Hey, Cloudy." Star pushed her boyfriend onto the cloud before she crawl on, "Let's, uh, get the bloody hell out of here."
"Okay!" The smiling cloud flew across the kingdom with blondes.
As soon as they get back at Diazs' household from Mewni, Star threw herself on her bed to muffle her humiliated scream in the pillows and Naruto sit down next to her, rubbing her back. Marco peek in to see the couple before he approach them with a smile, "Hey, guys, how was Song Day? Did you have great time?"
"Great isn't how I'd put it." Naruto winced to the brunette's puzzlement.
"Ugh…" Star lifted her head up, "I bloody hate fucking Song Day." Her head dropped back in her pillow with another muffled scream.
"Long story short, everyone found out that Ludo have the spellbook and their queen and king were keeping it secret from them." The mixed teenager explained, "Not only that, it turn out Ruberiot stole and looked through her diary for song materials…Which he just announced to the world about my septarian heritage and who's my father."
"…Oooh!" The brunette winced, "I don't wanna be you right now."
"Same." Naruto sighed.
"I'm so sorry." Star wrapped herself around her boyfriend's waist, lying on his laps. "If I have hide my diary better, that will never happen…"
"Hey, it wasn't your fault." The mixed teenager patted his girlfriend's head, "It was this jerk's fault. He shouldn't have done that."
"Yeah, I mean reading someone's diary and use it as a song?" Marco crisscrossed his waving arms, "So wrong and uncalled for."
"…Yeah, you're right." The magical girl sighed out as she rolled onto her back, "Marco, can you please leave my room? I wanna go sleep and pray it's all nightmare when I wake up."
"Sure." The brunette nodded as he leaves the room with a wave, "Sorry about what happened. Hope it'll get better." The door closed.
"Want me to change your clothes?" Naruto removed her high-heel shoes.
"Yes, please." Star exhaled out, "Once you're done, spoon me and tuck us in."
"Yes, dear." He kissed her forehead and the magical girl give out another sigh, she hope it don't get too big after tonight.
Several days later at night, there was a large party in Diaz's house with many teenagers because they were celebrating the end of school year. "Pretty crazy year, huh?" A girl said.
"No more math." A boy cheered.
"Trying to find someone to give me a ride to summer school." Another boy grumbled.
"So, I was, like, 'Look, Principal Skeeves, I'll start wearing pants when you start winning gold medals'." Chet said to Justin, "Know what I mean?" They laughed together.
"The year sure flies by so fast." Naruto sipped his soda before he notice Sabrina tried to write someone's yearbook with casts, "Ouch! What happened to her?"
"A horrible mishap with a cheerleading routine." Marco replied with plate of nachos, "Not very pretty sight." He looked around, "…Where's Star?"
"She's coming down in few minutes." The blonde said, "She's inviting some of her friends over…" He paused, "While avoiding her mum's calls."
"Oh." The brunette uttered.
"Hey, Marco, Naruto." Jackie approached them, "Whatcha doin'?"
"Just hanging around…" Marco said before a odd question appear in his head, "Jackie, can I ask you something? Why are all these people acting like everything's normal?"
"'Cause everything's normal." The skater steal a nacho chip from the brunette's plate, "Mm, you should try those." She noticed that he haven't touch them yet, "They're delicious."
"I'm curious, what do you mean by that?" Naruto asked his friend.
"Magic, the fact that many dimensions actual exist and etc." Marco said, "Before you and Star show up, it was all normal…Then I got my mind blow away so many times…Not that I mind because it's cool, I mean. Just…It's so weird that everyone here just accept it right away without asking a single question about it."
"Is this all 'cause you're embarrassed of your parents?" Jackie gestured to Marco's parents as they danced to hip-hop music goofy in eighties outfit.
"That's certainly not helping, but…" The Latino teenager stared in horror, "No. Ugh."
"Well, about your question, it's pretty simple for me because I'm used to everything to point that it's 'normal' since I was a baby." Naruto shrugged.
"Hmm, I can't speak for everyone in this town but I decide to roll with everything from the very day Star join our school." The skater shrugged relaxingly, "I mean, finding out that magic exist? Awesome. Monsters and 'fictitious' creatures are real? More awesome. What would make it the most awesome is if the aliens exist."
"Oh, they're real." The mixed teenager sipped his soda nonchalantly.
"Really?" Jackie gasped gleefully.
"Really?" Marco gave him a funny look.
"Yes, really." Naruto pulled his phone out then show them a picture of four-eyed overweight brown alien with ten years old Naruto. "He crashed near my house and have to stay for few days to fix his spaceship. He was pretty weird but nice."
"…I fucking can't believe it." The brunette smacked his face as the skater whistled impressively, "What's next? Mythical gods and goddesses exist?!"
"Didn't you met Father Time?" The mixed teenager pointed out, "Technically, he's a one…"
"…You know what?" Marco pushed the plate into Jackie's hands, "Take it all. I give up."
"Look like you're having a Marco moment." Jackie chuckled at his reaction.
"Uh, yeah, I'm having a Marco moment." The Latino teenager's shoulders slumped, "Ha, Yeah."
"All right, well, you can tell me all about it on the way to the kitchen." Jackie dragged Marco into the kitchen, "I want some more of these little hot dogs."
"Hey." Star appeared next to Naruto as she looked little nervous.
"Hey." Naruto wrapped his right arm around her and she lean in closer against his chest, causing her to become less nervous. "Still worried about what your folks think?"
"Yeah." She confirmed, "They're not tolerant like me when it come to monsters, even if they're half. I know my mom well enough to know that she might demand me to break up with you, which I will never do ever."
"Me too, I'd never ever break up with you no matter what." The mixed teenager said as they snuggled for a while, "…So, any friends of your coming over?"
"Yeah, Pony Head, Kelly and Janna are coming over." Star smiled, "Although I have to beg Janna until she caved in."
"When are they going to be here?" He asked curiously.
"In about ten minutes or so." She think deeply.
The party continue on after Star's friends show up and most teenagers enjoy the company of Pony Head and Kelly, some would say that they also notice that Janna have been avoiding Marco since she got here, even the brunette himself notice it. "And they throw Ruberiot in dungeon." Pony Head said to Star, "I'm not surprised they didn't execute him right away. Like, he just read your diary and blab it to the world, hello?!"
"Ugh, I know!" Star groaned.
"Right, and I'm more surprised that your boyfriend's a half-monster." The floating head said before she turn to Naruto, "I'm cool with you if that's what you're worried about."
"Yeah, Mewmen need to stop freak out about how all monsters are 'evil'." Kelly drinks a soda, she have lose counts of how many times people react badly when they meet some of her monster friends.
"Thanks." Naruto replied.
"I'm so glad that you two are okay with Naruto." The magical girl exhaled with relief before Janna join them with annoying expression, "Hey, Janna, what's wrong?"
"Jackie kissed Marco and wants to make some plans for summer together." Janna grumbled, "Argh!"
"Oh…Um…" Pony Head stared at the mischievous girl, "That sucks? But why should we care about Turd? He's so, like, lame and…"
"Don't you call him Turd!" The mischievous girl shoves her face in front of Pony's face with a hiss, "He's not lame and whatever else you think he is!"
"Ok, ok, chill, girl!" The floating head back slightly away from her, "Daaaaamn!"
"Um, how about we get something to eat and drink?" Star gently push Janna to snack table together.
Several minutes later, a pair of exciting squeals almost drains the sounds of party out before Rafael and Angie pop up with silly celebration dance around Naruto. "It went through, it went through!" Rafael waved his arms above his head.
"Yes, yes!" Angie pumped her arms sideway back and forth, "Yes, yes!"
"Mom, dad, what's going on?" Marco asked his parents confusingly, most partygoers look confused and curious.
"The adoption paper has been approved!" His mother cheered.
"Si!" The bulky man grinned widely, "You're a brother now!"
"Oh, that's great…" The brunette smiled before he drop it with a rapid blink, "…Wait, what?! You made a big decision without me? Adpotion?! WHO?!"
"Naruto!" Angie and Rafael hugged the said teenager.
"Surprise!" Naruto grinned toothy with light under his face as Marco stare at him with gaped face before he look down at Ferguson questioningly, the chubby teenager was holding a flashlight from the floor.
"Oh, sorry, sorry." Ferguson crawled away across the floor, "Looking for Alfonzo's contacts. Carry on, carry on."
"Angie, let's go find the 'Welcome to Family' banner!" Rafael raced out to the backyard with his wife in tow.
"Wha-wha-wha…" Marco stuttered.
"Your parents decide to adopt me since my father is dead and they don't want me to go into the system when I get back to UK." Naruto said to the stuttering brunette and anyone who listen in, "As you know, there is no alive family member on my mum's side and my father's side are not allowed to take me in because of their criminal activities. I mean, my uncle is an assassin and my grandma is a wanted felon so…" He shrugged, "And beside, it's kinda temporary until I turn eighteen."
"…" The Latino teenager closed his mouth for few minutes before he open it again, "…You're going to prank me every day and make my life hell, aren't you?"
"Oh, yeah, big time." The mixed teenager smirked teasingly, "That's what brothers do, am I right?"
"…FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!" Marco tilted his head back to the ceiling and his now-adopted brother snickered at his future sufferance.
"Wow, that's awesome!" Star grinned at them, "I'm so happy for you two!"
"Thanks, Star." Naruto smirked at her while the Latino teenager kept screaming 'Fuck' to the ceiling as Jackie pat her boyfriend's back with an amused smile.
Twenty minutes later after the adoption new, Marco finally recovered from the shock and he look around at his surrounding until he notice Janna walk into the kitchen. The brunette decide to approach her in the kitchen, "Um, hey, Janna." Marco lifted his hand up but the said girl just ignored him and she was about to bolt the room but he grab her wrist with worried expression. "Janna, can we talk?"
"Marco, let go of me." Janna muttered, refused to look at him.
"Did I do something wrong to make you mad at me?" He asked but she refuse to say anything, "Please, talk to me. You're…I can't believe I'm saying it, you're my best friend and I care about you and…"
"Don't you get it?!" She suddenly spun to face him with a glare as she yank her hand free, "I've been trying to make you notice me for years and years but nooooo! The only girl you ever look at is someone that is not me! I have been trying and trying to tell you about how I feel but you never ever listen or even notice because all you think, talk and care about is Jackie!" She pointed herself then at general direction out of the kitchen as Marco take a step back with raised hands, "You act like there's only one girl in the whole fucking world!"
"Um, um, w-w-what are you talking about?" Marco stuttered in pure confusion.
"GOD, YOU'RE SO FUCKING STUPID!" Janna screamed, "I HAVE A CRUSH ON YOU! I LOVE YOU FOR A LONG TIME!" The Latino teenager dropped his jaw with widened eyes, "BUT I GUESS I'M NOT THIS SPECIAL OR COOL ENOUGH FOR YOU!" She panted heavily at the gaped boy before she turn away from him, "…I'm fucking out of here." She stomped out past the gasping partygoers, Jackie who look stunned, and out of the house, everyone have heard everything. At that, Marco just fainted from the overwhelming news he receive in one night.
"Um, should we go after her?" Naruto asked his girlfriend as he glanced between the fainted boy and opening front door.
"…I think we'll leave her alone for now." Star looked up to him, "Just to let her cool off. I'll check on her tomorrow."
"Ok." The worried mixed teenager scratched the back of his head.
"…Hey, I'm going up to my room to get something." She said after couple minutes, "Be right back."
"Get it." Naruto nodded as they share a kiss before she walk up the stairs and the mixed teenager take another look around at the party that somewhat resumed. After a while, he suddenly hear Star's shout.
"NARUTO, MY MOM IS TAKING ME FROM EARTH FOREVER AND FORCING ME INTO HIDING…" Star's shouting suddenly ended.
"STAR!" The mixed teenager raced up the stairs and he swiftly kick Star's door open to see…An ordinary bedroom. "Star?!"
And that end the seventh chapter of LOS! Love it? Hate it?
And we're done with the second season! Onto the third season!
So far, Naruto have come up with some new attacks and projects. While Naruto and Star have some of their moments, we just saw that Marco have got together with Jackie as he always want but Janna don't like it at all to point that she just explode near the end of this chapter! At same time, Naruto have been adopted into the Diaz family to Marco's shock! Then…Star disappeared because of her mother!
What's next for our couple? How will Naruto react to his girlfreind's disappearance? How will Marco handle the fact that Janna's in love with him? What will the future bring for the trio? Let's find out next time!
