A baby on his doorstep.
The poor little thing was curled into a ball, crying.
Who had left it here? Why at his door?
The man looked around, it was pitched black outside and there was no one to be found.
He picked to baby up and held it-her-in his arms.
She cooed softly at his touch. She was adorable. Singe handley the cutest little thing he had ever seen.
His eyes averted to the little basket she was in. There was a pink paper with pretty writing on it. The man put the baby down on the counter and picked up the note. He read it slowly.
~Dear Vitruvius,
As you may have seen, I have left my baby with you. I would have done this in person but I have found trouble doing so. I have heard from many that you are a skilled master builder and wizard. I only have one request, please take care of her. I know and am aware that is a lot to ask for but please try. If you decide to give her up I understand. Her name is Lucy and she was born approximately 24 hours ago. If I can, I will try my absolute best to come back to her.When she is old enough to understand please give her this letter, so she will know that I love her. I will forever owe you if you decide to keep her.

As he finished reading it for the nth time, he put the letter down and picked up Lucy.
"Hi little one. My name is Vitruvius, and I will be taking care of you until you are old enough to do it yourself. I will try my best to be the best guardian I can be to you."
He looked into her blue, blue eyes and sighed.
Fatherhood isn't the easiest thing in the world.
