A/N: I am so so so sorry for being gone for so long. My laptop died and took my files with him. Then I've been busy with a newborn. Thank you for reading and waiting for this to finish. Chapter 5

BPOV

I was enjoying my break with Emmet feeding me chocolate cake when Peter rushed in and told him it's an emergency. When Emmet heard the word emergency, he immediately grab hold and practically run towards where Peter was going. I don't think Emmet is aware that he is dragging me with him though. Over the last weeks, Emmet has treated me like what I have always wished a big brother would. He is always checking up at work, making sure I ate and no one messes with me. Rose is the same, I think she secretly wants a baby sister when she was younger and then magically found me instead.

I'm grateful I found them. I'm sure I was lonely even though I can't remember.

When we reached the IT room, everyone is tense and Seth is about to cry. I looked closer and found that their system is being hacked, they stand to loose a lot of money, and Seth is panicking. His panic is making him loose focus, which is critical in situations like these.

I took pity on the boy when I see that nobody can help him and I spotted Jasper looking on the verge of his sanity.

I tried to explain to Seth what he is doing wrong and what he should be doing but the IT guy looks at me like he I'm speaking in a code, which for an IT guy should never happen.

Since time is of the essence, I grabbed the nearest keyboard and did it myself. Less than half an hour and voila! Problem solved. With an upgrade thrown in for good measure. Seth hugged me and looked at me like I was the best thing since sliced bread. I guess I just earned a new best friend?

Jasper on the other hand looks like he is not sure whether to kiss me or kill Seth. I sure hope he decides on the kiss. And since I'm never lucky, he decided to order Seth to his office and Seth looks like he is going to pee his pants. I hope my new best friend lives to see another day.

The next couple of days were unremarkable and unexciting. On the third day, however, Jasper called me to his office and abruptly announced that I will no longer be a bartender in his casino.

I am gearing up to curse up a storm since I have done nothing to warrant this sudden punishment when he put his hand up to stop me.

"I'm not firing you Bella. I'm just transferring you to a new department. I think you are a better fit in our IT department."

Good thing I stopped before I threatened my boss. I smiled as widely as I can and thanked him.

"No problem Bella. With your skill level, I'm just glad you are working with us. You can start tomorrow."

And with that, I am promptly dismissed. I immediately seek Emmet to tell him the good news. He was happy to hear that I'm not a bartender anymore. It seems he has been threatening some customers who are too insistent for their own good.

I settled in my new role nicely. I like this job better. A nice comfy chair and a couple of geeks that I can boss around. Seth makes sure that I have everything I need. The pup looks like he'll do anything I asked him to.

After a couple of weeks on my new job, Japer summoned me to his office once again. I know I didn't do anything and I may be doing a great job now but surely I won't get promoted again, right?

I swear I waited as patiently as I could but Jasper seems to be unwilling to talk first.

"What can I do for you Jasper?"

"I think we started off on a bad note Bella. I'm sorry if I seem rude at times. I'm just stressed this past couple of months. Let me make it up to you. Would you like to go out with me tonight?

Is he asking what I think he is asking? Why are you thinking about it Bella, say yes already!

"Yes, I'd love that."

His smile is so wide, very different from the small ones that I've seen on him before.

"I'll pick you up at 7."

I am now thanking my lucky stars that Rose literally harassed me to go out and buy clothes. I have a few choices to wear tonight.

After going back and forth for half an hour, I finally decided on a long sleeve red dress, black tights and boots. Comfy and dressy enough for wherever Jasper decided to go.

I'm pleasantly surprised when Jasper led me to a comedy club. I never would have guessed if I tried. I figured Jasper will go the tried and tested dinner and movie but this is exponentially much better.

I had a great time, I can't get enough of Jasper's deep laugh every time the comedian gets to the punch line. At the end of the night, I can't help but lean in and give him a kiss. Without hesitation, he kissed me back with so much passion I felt like drowning.
