It was the same thing every day, the routine never failed. Everyday from Monday to Friday, The girls would wake up at 5 in the morning, take two hours to get properly situated and dressed- depending on who is scheduling the outfit for the day- , Then they would torment the school for 7 hours before coming back to The Petrova's to play a wicked game of croquet.
The sound of the yellow ball clattering with the stick harmonized well with the hummingbirds that were singing that afternoon.
"Damn." Katerina, the middle sister cursed. "Your turn Tatia." She strutted backwards to let her sister take the lead. "No Katerina, It's' Elena's turn." The brunette twins turned to look at the third, who had her nose stuffed into a page of Hamiltons.
"Elena!" The older sisters scolded.
The youngest lifted her eyes and gave an apologetic sigh. "Sorry." She grimaced, tossing the book to the side and taking her turn, only resulting in missing her goal entirely and returning beside Katerina.
The oldest, Tatia, Walked up to the red ball that was placed in front of her. Eyeing her goal and thinking of a calculated maneuver. Bending her hips slightly and getting ready into position, she swings her arms back gently and hits the ball.
Bull-eyes directly on Caroline's head- which was sticking out the ground by the way, as if she was buried in beach sand. The blonde rolled her eyes in the dream-state.
'Dear Diary. The Petrova's believe they can teach people real life. Tatia says real life sucks losers dry. And if you want to soar with the eagles, we have to learn how to fly.' Caroline desperately scribbles onto the pages of her diary, she is seated on the stair case in the middle of a students switching class.
'I say, "you teach me people to fly?", she responds with yes. I tell her "You're beautiful"-'
"God come on, Caroline!" A sudden knee to the side interrupts Caroline's writing, the blonde flips her hair back and is faced with Katerina and Elena.
"What the Hell Kat!" Caroline groaned with annoyance evident in her tone, "what's your damage?"
"Don't Blame Me, blame Tatia. She said you need to get your ass to the lunch hall now. And by now, she means five minutes ago." Katerina looked up at her sister and lifted an eyebrow, "Back me Up, Sis."
The younger Petrova gave sympathetic eyes to Caroline, "Yeah she really wants to talk to you, Care."
"Alright, Alright! I'm going." The blonde rolled her eyes as she gathered her things.
The cafeteria was as wild as always. Same doofuses and snuck up snobs in every corner, a little geeks there and some of the cracked out whores over here. But either way, they all bowed down regardless to Tatia, Katerina, and Elena. The three girls were either your worst living nightmare or your most traumatic dream.
Tatia stood at their usual table, waiting for Caroline with pen and paper in her hand. "Hello Tatia." The blonde deadpanned.
"Caroline! Finally." Tatia exclaimed in an almost believable enthusiasm. "I need a favor. I need you to forge a super hot and freaky but realistically lowkey note in Matt Donavon's handwriting so I can slip it on to April Young's lunchtray." The Brunette smiled Evilly.
"Shit Tatia, I don't have anything against April." Caroline tried to reason.
"You don't have anything for her either." Tatia Countered. "Oh come On Caroline, think of it as it giving April 'Shower nozzle Masturbation material' for weeks!" The older Petrova was not letting up.
Caroline took the time to consider and rolled her eyes in acceptance.
"Great! Caroline needs something to write on! Elena?" As on cue, the younger sister bent over so her back could be used as a writing surface.
Caroline got into position, paper on Elena's back, pen cap in her mouth and eyes on Tatia awaiting her next instructions, The brunette gave a wicked smile before starting,
"Dear April, You are so sweet.."
The blonde began writing, unaware of the intrigued set of eyes lurking from the corner.
The girls were seated at the table after Katerina swiftly placed the note on April's tray. Tatia had her notepad out and ready as the girls discussed today's lunch poll.
"So what's the poll today?" Caroline wondered. "Yeah what's the poll!" Elena chipped in from the other side of the table. Tatia rolled her eyes at her sister, "Really Elena? You were with me in study hall when I thought of it."
"Sorry, I forgot." The younger sister slumped deeper into her seat.
"This wouldn't happen to be the thing you were blabbing about on the phone last night, would it?" The Forbes girl questioned as she looked over to her frenemy. Tatia all but nodded and grinned widely.
The two got up and started making their way around the cafeteria, looking for students to question. As Tatia rambled on, Caroline's eyes came into contact with another pair of icy blue ones. It felt like hours they stared at each other, waiting for the other one to let up.
The blue on blue eye crime lasted as Caroline made her way to the other side of the lunchroom, the owner of the other blue eyes shifted in his seat lightly, a small smirk on his face the entire time.
The staring contest came to an end when Caroline bumped into another student, letting out a small gasp.
"Oh Caroline, I'm sorry." The shy girl exclaimed nonchalantly, Caroline looked down to see an old friend and gave her a grin. "Bonnie Bennett. Wow, hey I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your birthday party."
"It's okay, your mom said you had a date. I'd probably miss my own birthday party." Bonnie reasoned with a raise of her glasses.
"Jeez, come On Caroline!" Tatia dragged her away.
"Hey I was Talking!"
From the other side of the cafeteria, April began opening the letter. Stealing glances at Matt Donavon.
The lunchtime poll had ended up with Caroline forcing Tatia to ask different cliques other than just the stuck up Prep Fucks. The girls were questioning the geeks and Rock-for-Brains jocks, but they weren't as bad as the stoners in the bathroom who couldn't even comprehend the question.
Tatia sighed in annoyance the whole time.
The girls met back with Katerina and Elena who were watching April Young make her way towards Matt Donovan. Caroline felt a pang of guilt for being half of the cause for the embarrassment April is about to face, sure she isn't that attractive, and she could lose a few pounds that could fit better into her figure, and she could really use a better quality shampoo-
anyways, not the point.
April made her way towards Matt, who sat across from Tyler as they cracked ridiculously perverted jokes. The conversation between them silenced as April attempted conversation, and when she failed, she simply handed the note to Matt who began to skim through it.
Obnoxious laughter filled the air, followed by another after Tyler took the note and started reading it, too. Soon enough the whole table of football players were laughing at poor April, who looked like she was on the verge of a breakdown. She bolted out the cafeteria, leaving The Petrova's still in a fit of a laughter.
Across the way, The same eyes that caught Caroline's attention was staring at her, as she was at them. Both of them shared disbelieving and disapproving glances.
Caroline stormed away towards the recycling's club table, turning her back quickly on the geeks as they tried to talk to her, clearly she was lost in her thoughts but was soon dragged out of them when Tatia came and dragged her away.
The brunette turned to face her, "You wanted to be a member of the most clique in school. If I wasn't already the head of it, I'd want the same thing. Lighten up Care; you used to have a sense of human." She uttered before walking off, a thought-filled Caroline following behind.
All four girls were in the bathroom, fixing and applying whatever to keep up with their beauty. Elena popped out from one of the stalls, calling for Caroline. "Hey Care? A little help?"
Tatia and Katherine made a face while Caroline held a finger up in a taunting manner, "A True Friends' work is never done." She jokes before heading into the stall with Elena.
"Gross." Both Kat and Tatia groaned.
"Grow up Elena, Bulimia is so 90s." Katerina Mocked, staring into the mirror and pumping up her breasts so they'd fit nicely in her blouse.
"Maybe you should really see a doctor?" The blonde Suggested, filing her nails. Elena sighed heavily and looked down, "Yeah maybe." She added a small smile.
Tatia couldn't help herself and mocked her sister, "Come on Elena, let's go check out todays Lunch."
The four of them walked back into the cafeteria where Caroline met eyes again, this time going unnoticed by the rest of the dolls.
"God Care, Drool much? That's Klaus Mikaelson. He's in my American history." Kat added with a smirk.
" Move It Caroline, we have these last couple Polls and you're definitely asking, fuck me silly if you think I'm going to spend another second conversing with these good for nothing dirtbags." Tatia spat as she handed the pad to Caroline.
Caroline rolled her eyes as she grasped the notepad. "Doesn't it bother you that the whole school thinks you're a piranha?" The blonde asked in a careless demeanor.
"Like I give a shit. Bottom line is everyone wants me, either as a friend or a fuck."
Caroline caught his eyes again as they made it to his side of the cafeteria. Notepad still in her hand and ready to approach him for questioning.
"Hi." She barely whispered, keeping heavy eye contact with him.
"Greetings Love." He responded with a quick Up and down gaze at her, she was truly beautiful , he thought. He glanced back at her companions, "are you a Pretrova?" He pondered.
"Actually I'm a Forbes." She cracked a grin. "Caroline Forbes."
"Klaus." He returned, leaning from his seat to take a better view.
"So this may sound like a really stupid question." She prepped for the lunchtime poll.
"There are no stupid questions." He answered, making her shake her head lightly knowing that he's gonna change his mind in a matter of a seconds.
She began to read the poll Out loud. "You win a lottery for 5 million dollars, but aliens came and threaten to destroy earth in the next 24 hours on that same day. What do you do with the money?" She finishes.
He furrowed his eyebrows and turned his eyes to the table, "that's quite possibly the stupidest question I have ever heard."
She couldn't get over the British accent; The blue eyes and the sexiness of his skin exposed behind his necklaces, but the accent was the icing on the cake.
From across the room, the both incredibly dumb jocks; Matt and Tyler, watch Caroline's exchange with the student. "Who that dickweed think he is anyways?" Matt questioned with a mocking laugh, "Bo Didley?"
Tyler's expression was jealously fueled, never taking his eyes off them, "Caroline's into his act no doubt."
Klaus took a minute before answering her question, "I don't know, probably row out into the middle of lake, have my paintbrushes and maybe some Bourbon."
"How Very." Caroline responded.
Tatia strides up to her blonde companion, "Come on, Caroline." Klaus didn't miss the dirty look she sent him. Caroline rolled her eyes and looked back at him, "Later."
"Definitely." His voice dripped with anticipation.
"let's Kick his Ass." Matt was always the one for violence.
"Shit Matt, we're seniors now." Tyler reasoned. "Let's give him a good scare, though." Both seniors got up from the seats and made their way to the new student.
Klaus never took his eyes off them, even as Matt came up to his table and stuck his fingers inside Klaus' lunch. "you gonna eat this?"
Tyler leaned over next to his friend, staring down Klaus. "What did your boyfriend say when you told him you were moving to Mystic Falls?"
Both jocks stared at him intently as he stayed quiet. "answer him dick." Matt indulged.
"Hey Matt, doesn't this cafeteria have a 'No Fags Allowed' rule?" The raven haired boy turned to his friend.
"They seem to have an open door policy for assholes, though don't they."
Both jocks were stunned at the remark. They turned to each other and then back to Klaus. "what did you say, Dick?"
Klaus remained quiet for a second before pushing his chair back. "Allow me to repeat myself."
Nothing else was said afterwards, though. As Klaus pulled out a revolver from his back and let two shots rang out in the lunchroom.
