Renegade Heart
Summary: Michael talks to Valerie about what happened between she and Kristina. Sequel to Follow Your Heart
Michael knew that it was a matter that didn't particularly concern him, but he couldn't help it as he walked purposefully toward Valerie. Kristina had left not long after their talk on the balcony, feigning a headache. "Valerie?" He asked, stopping in front of the table she was sitting at.
She looked up, eyes widening in fear and flitting around as if looking for Kristina when she saw him.
"Don't worry, Kristina had a headache and she went home." He told her as he took a seat across from her. "She'd probably be upset if she even knew I was talking to you about this, but she's my little sister. It's my job to help her."
Valerie bit her lip and looked away. "Listen, I'm sorry that I hurt her, but I can't help it. I never expected her to kiss me!"
"You could've just told her that. You could've pushed her away. Kristina thinks she did something wrong and she's thinking of every other relationship she's had that hasn't worked out. I don't think you're a bad person. I mean, you're my cousin. But you hurt my sister and she's been through too much for me to let that happen anymore." Michael told her. "Especially not when you apparently kissed her back." He arched a brow at that. "And it apparently wasn't even the first time."
She let out a shaky breath and shook her head. "I've never had feelings for another woman before. It scared me. I know I didn't react well, but how do you expect me to fix things?"
The man in front of her laughed at that. "It's not like Krissy always knew she was bisexual. She only knew when she developed feelings for Parker and I know it confused her. She'd understand why you did what you did if you'd just apologize and explain yourself. Look, I don't expect you two to get together, but Kristina misses you and I know you miss her too. At least talk to her to get your friendship back. You both deserve to be happy."
And with that, Michael stood to his feet. He squeezed her shoulder gently before he walked out of the hotel, leaving Valerie with her thoughts.
