Shiraishi was out with Haru, her boyfriend. Even though Haru kept on showering her with compliments and buying her anything he came across that he thought she would like, Shiraishi could only accept it half-heartedly. She heavily regretted accepting his confession.

She had never been confessed to so directly before and had agreed to date him infront of everyone with the mind of telling him the truth later when they were alone.

It had been a week since they started going out but whenever she tried, something always came up to interrupt them. "Haru-kun? can we have a little chat about something?" She tried telling him once again.

"Oh yeah, sure. anything for you" Haru stopped in his tracks, meeting Shiraishi's eyes. "What's up?"

"The th-thing is... I... the confession.." Shiraishi stammered, trying to get her words right.

It's okay Shiraishi. Just take your time. She thought to herself.

"Shiraishi-san?" A familiar voice called out. She looked away from Haru to meet with the black eyes that she loved.

"Tanaka-kun.." She felt her heart racing once again. Just seeing him made her feel so nervous and flustered. She felt a pang of guilt. She shouldn't lead Haru on when she felt so strongly for someone else.

She then saw a girl walk out from behind him. Who was this? His girlfriend? She wondered anxiously.

Then a weird thought popped into her head. What if Tanaka was only pretending to not know about how she feels. I mean Echizen did say that he seemed to have picked up on it.

Maybe he was attempting to reject her but didn't want to hurt her feelings. maybe he likes someone else.

The unfamiliar girl with dark, long hair and dark brown eyes gave her a friendly smile, making her snap out of her thoughts. The girl turned to Tanaka, raising an eyebrow with a smirk on her face. "who is this?"

"Oh Shiraishi-san? She's our class rep. You might've seen her around school." Oh, She's from our school?Shiraishi wondered.

"Shiraishi-san, this is megumi from class E. She is Echizen's friend" Tanaka introduced the girl.

"ah yes, Hi.." Shiraishi greeted her. No matter how much she tried not to resent the girl, she couldn't. Is she really just Echizen's friend and classmate. Then why was Tanaka hanging out with her. And where was Oota.

Oota always tagged along with Tanaka when he was hanging out with Shiraishi so why was he alone with Megumi.

"This is Haru.. " She gestured towards the boy next to her.

Megumi greeted Haru warmly, giving him a firm handshake. "Oh is he your boyfriend?"

"Y-yes." Shiraishi replied. She wasn't sure what to do in that situation.

"What a cute couple. Sorry for interrupting you guys." Megumi said, winking at Shiraishi. "Come on Tanaka, let's leave these love birds alone."

Tanaka had a blank reaction on his face as always. Shiraishi had troubling reading anything on his face. Why would he react anyways. He doesnt like me that way. She thought.

She watched the two disappear from sight. She felt her heart drop even more. It was getting more and more difficult to talk to Haru about breaking up. Maybe she should've rejected him on the first day.

"Shiraishi-san" Haru said, looking at her saddened expression. "Let's break up."

"huh?" Shiraishi looked at him, surprised.

"You like him don't you?" He asked, giving her a smug smile.

"What? No.. I-I"

"It's pretty obvious to me how differently you look at him compared to anyone else." Haru said. "I actually kind of knew you liked him even when I asked you out."

"wh-what.. then why?" Shiraishi asked.

"Well, I just thought that if we go out for a little bit, maybe you'd grow to like me too." Haru admitted. "But, it's become clear to me that you'll have your eyes on him for a while"

Shiraishi felt so bad. How did she end up in this situation. "Haru.. "

"I'm sorry for pressuring you with a public confession." Haru said, scratching his head. "I should've considered how you would've felt about it."

Shiraishi shook her head gently. "No, I'm sorry for not bringing this up with you sooner."

"So.. is it over now?"

Shiraishi smiled at him with pity.

"alright. Well, this was nice." Haru said followed by a forced laugh. "See ya."

Life happened and I couldn't focus much but I'm back again, hopefully. probably lost most of the original readers by now but I put in some Shiraishi jealousy for that one reader who wanted it lol. There'll be more of that in the coming chapter since Tanaka has another girl around him.
