Tartarus; the place where the vilest and cruelest of beings dwell, the prison if the Titans and Giants, and the place where monsters are sent to reform once they were killed. The eternal punishment for Percy Jackson.

You heard me; Percy Jackson. As in the twice-over Saviour of Olympus,

Retriever of Zeus' Master Bolt, Retriever of the Golden Fleece, Hero of the Battle of Manhattan, Defeater of Kronos, Destroyer of Gaea, and many other titles that apparently have no meaning to anyone.

Why is Percy Jackson in Tartarus you might ask?

Well, that is a tale probably told by Percy himself.

PERCY POV

I stumbled across the desolate plains of Tartarus; tired, exhausted, broken and hungry. Very hungry and very thirsty.

Why not find the River Phlegethon and drink from that?

Simple answer; I can't.

I did go to the river, and I did try to drink the foul-tasting liquid fire.

Emphasis on try.

It evaporated in my mouth.

Don't ask my how liquid fire evaporates; ask the f***ing gods. They're the ones that did this to me; the ones that cursed me.

Actually, scratch that. Don't ask them. They'll probably throw you in this hellhole to join me.

Why am I here, you ask, cursed and condemned to Tartarus?

What could I have done to deserve such a horrific fate?

Simple answer; nothing.

I didn't do a freaking thing.

Confused?

Maybe it would just be better if I showed you.

OBLIGATORY FLASHBACK

I was confused; puzzled; bewildered. The strangest things have been happening all week. All my friends no longer talks to me. Connor, Travis, Grover, Juniper, Will, Clarisse, Chris, Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel, even Chiron's been ignoring me! All except Thalia, Nico and Annabeth.

Well, i can't really count Thalia and Nico because they're haven't been at camp for a few months. But now even Annabeth is starting to not talking to me. I go up to speak to her, and she gives me some excuse and runs off.

At first I was like, okay maybe she just needs some space, she has so much work being the Architect of Olympus and all. But now I wasn't so sure.

It's been over a year since the giant war, and I was now 18. My demigod scent had gotten stronger, so it was now too dangerous to go and visit my mum at the moment.

I still do IM her though. Mum is pregnant with my new sibling and she's giving birth in 2 months. I'm so excited at the prospect of having a new brother and sister!

The gods have merged Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood together since the giant war and called the combined camp; Camp Olympus.

You have a choice of you would like do join a Roman legion or if you like to just stay on your godly parent cabin like the Greeks did. Most people chose cabins. (Obviously, Greeks are better. Just don't tell them I said that.

The combined camp is situated on Long Island where Camp Half-Blood was. Camp Jupiter got used for the expansion of New Rome, which is now called New Olympus, and you can move there to go to college and raise a family and stuff.

I wanted to eventually go there with Annabeth and live our lives there. But right now, we both have to stay here for now as the camps only merged about 2 months ago, and there are still a lot of details to work out.

Anyway, I digress. As I was saying, Annabeth has been drifting away from me. And I'm really confused as to what's happening.

And that's not the only enigmatic problem I'm trying to work out. About 2 weeks ago, this new son of Zeus showed up; his name's Hector. He's a pompous, stuck-up idiot, that for some reason every treats as if he is a god.

He hasn't even done anything amazing, other than kill 3 hellhounds that had been chasing him on his way to camp. It was a fluke as well; Hector is completely useless with a sword.

I've offered to train him, but he says that he doesn't need sword training from someone as pathetic as me. Sometimes I just want to wipe that smug grin of that ugly face of his.

TIMESKIP WITHIN FLASHBACK

I was on the way to the beach for a date with Annabeth; I wanted to talk about her not wanting to talk to me and if I did anything wrong.

On the way there, I ran into Jason. "Hey Superman! How are things going with you and Piper" I asked.

"What's it to you? Mind your own business, Jackson!" Jason retorted angrily, before pushing past me and walking off.

'Wow' I mouthed to myself. What the heck is going on?

I crested the hill to the beach, and saw that it was already occupied by two campers who seemed to be having some, ahem, 'personal time'. And by personal time, I mean snogging each other quite vigorously.

"Oh, Hector! You're such a good kisser!" The blonde haired female exclaimed.

I turned away and started to walk off, not wanting to interrupt their 'session', until I heard something that made me stop in my tracks.

"I know, Annie! Much better than that pathetic loser Percy Jackson? When are you going to break up with him anyway? I'm so much better than him!" Hector boasted conceitedly.

"I'll break up with him on our date later. I can't believe I ever thought that I loved him." She replied, completely smitten with Hector.

I felt my heart shatter at her words. Did she ever truly love me? I'd had enough of this anyway. I summoned a wave and dumped the freezing water on top of the love-locked couple.

"What the f-?" Who dared-" Hector spluttered.

"Shut-up!" I told him coldly. Annabeth saw me standing there and grew very pale.

"P-percy?! What are you doing here?"

"I could ask the same thing to you, Wise Girl" I spoke her name with as much venom I could muster. "I'm sorry I wasn't good enough for you. Looks like you're perfectly happy with your new boyfriend. Ill thing I'll just leave you alone then"

With that I turned and ran from the beach back to my cabin; ignoring her pleas to stay and let her explain.

I didn't want to her anything more from her. I entered my cabin and slammed the door; tears now streaming down my face. I had no friends left now, they'd all left me. I only had my mother, my father, and Thalia and Nico.

Suddenly, I felt myself being forcefully teleported somewhere. I looked around and noticed that is was in the throne room of Olympus.

There were now 14 thrones instead of the original 12; as the Seven's request was to have Hestia and Hades get a throne in the council, and for all of the peaceful titans real eased such as Leto and Calypso, as that was fulfilled earlier.

I saw all of the gods in their thrones, all of them were looking at me with disgusted and contemptuous looks; all except Hestia that is.

Hestia is definitely me favourite goddess, and when I got her her throne back, she gave me a massive hug and whispered her thanks over and over in my ear. I think I am her favourite demigod as well :).

Back to the matter at hand. Zeus looked very, VERY pissed; as in more pissed than when I declined god-hood. Artemis also looked like she wanted to castrate me on the spot; which is a very scary thought.

I decided to speak first, as I had no idea why I was here, or what the heck was happening. I quickly bowed "Lord Zeus! Why have you called me here?" I decided to be polite for once as he didn't seem to be in a good mood.

I don't know what I did wrong.

"You DARE to claim ignorance to what you have done?! I should kill you on the spot, you insolent demigod!" Zeus thundered. (Hehe lightning pun)

"I'm sorry, but I don't know wha-" I started.

"SILENCE, TRAITOR! Though if you still claim your innocence, let me refresh your memory of your heinous deeds you have committed.

"Number 1: you secretly work with Gaea during the war, yet to betray and kill her when you realise that she was losing to save you own skin" Zeus claimed. I was sitting there, open-mouthed in shock, but still he continued.

"Number 2: you murder two mortals; Paul Blofis and Sally Jackson-Blofis, which is an act of murder and matricide."

"What do you mean Mum and Paul are dead?!" I cried in horror, tears once more streaming down my face in disbelief.

"Number 3," Zeus continued as if I hadn't said anything, "the attempted rape of Artemis, goddess of the moon, chastity and hunting." Artemis' glare intensified ten-fold at this stage. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"What do you plead, ex-Hero of Olympus?!"

"I plead innocent!" I shouted dumbstruck. "How could you ever think that I would do those things! For starters, my fatal flaw is loyalty, so I never could have betrayed you to Gaea. Secondly, Mum and Paul are my parents for gods sake! I would never murder them; I loved them! And I would NEVER and I mean NEVER try to rape someone, ESPECIALLY not Artemis; I respect her greatly! I have no idea of these crimes you're accusing me of!"

The council seemed to have not even heard my plea; they were all still glaring at me in utmost hatred. Hestia though was looking at me in great sadness and pity.

"Brother! How can you accuse young Perseus of these horrific deeds! He has fought for us valiantly since he was 12! He is also kind-hearted and honest; claiming that he attempted to rape Artemis and killed his parents is just too far!" Hestia proclaimed to Zeus in my defense.

"I care not for your words, sister!" Zeus replied. "Perseus has been found guilty and will be punished accordingly."

"Dad! Please! You know I would never to those things! Tell Zeus!" I begged my father.

Poseidon regarded me with a cool, aloof look "You are no son of mine, traitor. I will have no one bearing my name commit those treacheries. Also, I take Anaklusmos back from your possession, you are not worthy to bear it"

Poseidon held out his hand, and Riptide flew out of my pocket into it. I let a tear slide down my face; Zoe herself had given me permission to wield it and it was a reminder of her that I dearly treasured.

I was in despair and loss. I had no-one left, now my Mum and Paul were dead, and my father had disowned me.

"I believe I have come up with a suitable punishment for you Perseus. I will make you immortal, and eternal condemnation to Tartarus will be your fate. But also with a curse of my own special making. Hermes! Please bring Hecate here at once!" Hermes flashed out of the throne room to fetch Hecate.

Tartarus?! I had only just stayed sane being in there for a week, and that was with someone else. How was I meant to not go insane after eternity? 'I have the worst luck in the world' I thought pitifully.

Hermes re-appeared with Hecate by his side. Hermes sat down on his throne, but not before glaring coldy at me in hate.

"You summoned me milord?" Hecate inquired.

"Yes, I wish for you to place a special curse on this traitor here of my own making; one that can never be removed."Zeus told her.

"But milord, how can you call Perseus a traitor? He is loya-"

"SILINCE! You will do as I command or I will take my revenge on your children for your disobedience!"

Hecate nodded in submission "What is it you require, Lord Zeus?"

Zeus smiled deviously "It is quite simple, yet very clever. In comeuppance for his deeds, food will turn to ash and liquid will evaporate in his mouth. Nectar and Ambrosia will cause immense pain if he tries to consume it. Oh but that's not all!"

How can a curse get worse than that?! I though in despair.

"He can only fulfil his hunger and slake his thirst if," Zeus' smile got even no cruel if possible, "he drinks the blood of monsters or mortals." As he finished Zeus laughed manically.

I was in upmost horror; and I wasn't the only one. Hestia was crying and looking at me in sorrow, and Hecate was thoroughly shocked.

"Y-you want me to turn him into a vampire, Lord Zeus?!" Hecate asked in disbelief.

"Of course? Didn't I just say that? I believe it is the perfect punishment for this traitor! And since you are the Mistress of Empousai, who better person to do it."

"I-I... That's horrible!" Hecate exclaimed.

"It would do well to remember my threat, Hecate! It's him, or your children!"

Hecate looked at me pitifully. 'I'm sorry, young hero,' I heard her speak in my mind, 'if I had a choice I would not allow this to happen. But I will also give you the gift of powerful charmspeak like Empousai to aid you.'

I'm glad some people still care for me, buts it not enough to distract from the terrible fate which I am about to be cursed with.

"I'm sorry," Hecate said aloud. Then she began chanting in Ancient Greek and a dark purplish light surrounded her outstretched hands. The light then shot out and hit me in the chest; at the same time, Zeus fired his lightning bolt at me.

I had no idea what Hecate's light was doing to me as the pain from my my blood as was turned into ichor overwhelmed me; it was like swimming in the Styx all over again. I bet Zeus was trying to make this as painful as possible.

When the lights snapped off, I collapsed onto the floor of the throne room; completely drained of energy. Before I could even register what was happening around me; Zeus struck me with his bolt again.

This time I flew backwards, and as I turns around I saw a deep, black hole that emitted feelings of evil and malevolence. It was obviously Tartarus, and I was heading straight for it.

'Well this is it,' I thought, 'eternity in Tartarus here I come!'

And with that final thought, the bolt pushed me into the Tartarean hole; sealing my fate.
